Woohoo!
Well, until I get some more commission work done and until Easter happens around, there won't be too many contests happening. Though there is a big one coming up after Easter...Xenon knows, but she may never tell D8!!! Muahahahaa!...Should be fun and...um...evil.
Booooooooo...
So, I figured a small quick one might be nice for a change.
Anyone can participate and I hope you all enjoy it for the whirl it is.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What would be your ideal SD or Rabbit?
That is the question I would like answered.
I want you all to think really hard and come up with your own, personal, ultimate SD or Rabbit. The rules are listed below, please read them before you jump in. <3
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules:
1. Each person may only submit two entries to the contest. Any more and the person will be disqualified. I know you may have lots of ideas, but I can only get through so many.
2. Every person must either provide a small excerpt of this SD's awesomeness why are they like this, why do you think it's the ultimate SD or Rabbit (at least 150 words, no points received) or a picture (pencil sketch is fine, each picture gets 2 points, even though it's a contest.), or both.
3. You may only mix up to 4 Realms. More than four in a mix is not genetically possible. You may also only mix up to 4 breeds for the same reason. You may also have up to 4 mutations that would not normally appear on those breeds or Realms.
4. This ultimate SD or Rabbit can be as high a rank as you like, Jokers included. You are supposed to have it be your personal ultimate, after all.
5. All entries must be posted to this thread with the following form completed on it for each entry.
Your Name: SD or Rabbit?: Realm/s: Rank: Breed/s: Suit: Mutations:
6. The contest ends on March 20th
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prizes:
First: A tiny grab-bag full of some odd things! Second: A tiny grab-bag that contains one thing...but it's odd. Third: A moderate power for the SD or Rabbit of your choice.
Everyone else: All will receive a small power for participating!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So! I've always wanted to see what everyone's dream/ultimate/most beautiful/perfect SD or Rabbit would be! Toss them at me, I'd be delighted to see your ideas!
<3

My first entry!Your Name: Spiderfly SD or Rabbit?: SD Realm/s: 1/2 Mid-Range, 1/2 Solandrian Glacier Rank: 6 Breed/s: Snow Leopard (Feline) Suit: Spades Mutations: Sharpened Canines, Slightly Elongated Canines (not Alphonse long, still hideable) There are a lot of myths surrounding snow leopards, and one in particular really inspires me. The myth of snow leopards that skin their prey and lap at the still warm blood. It seems a natural progression to connect a form of vampirism with snow leopards! And let's face it. . I'm a vampire-addict. This, is Kael. ^_^ He's older than he looks and is an interesting sort to be around. Honestly, he prefers to wander on his own and to keep to himself. However if he finds company he likes he becomes quite a loyal friend. Though he has the unnerving tendency to disappear soundlessly, and show up just as quickly a few weeks later. His father was a Solandrian that liked to wander. Eventually he met Kael's mother. He doesn't really remember his parents too well as his craving for blood drove him to take off at a young age. Though sometimes, he wanders by the old home, hoping for a quick glance of his parents before passing along again. He's quite well built from not only his heritage, but his wanderings as well. In my mind he does have a bipedal. . but this was just so much easier to draw lol. The only proof of his Solandrian heritage is his heavy build, thicker fur, and the black spotting that compliments his Mid-Range swirls so well. Most of his Solandrian heritage is internal. He's a loner as mentioned above, and he likes playing mind games from time to time with his food. His obligatory Mid-Range cut(s) are across his back right flank. In a pinch, they've kept his blood hunger quenched during tight times. However, because of his Glacier half he never bled as badly as most Mid-Rangers, which was a blessing when he ran away from home. When he finally found out what quenched the thirst he'd felt his whole life he fled from his parent's home in shame. ^_^ Hope you like him!

Entry #1 Your Name: Travesty SD or Rabbit?: SD Realm/s: Hisstor Wastes Rank: 7 Breed/s: Canine (Coyote) Suit: Clubs Mutations: Cannibalism [only directed at children (including his own, if he ever has them)]
Louis is not an imposing creature, as a Seven of Clubs he neither wields great power or respect, and being a common canine only makes him appear more average. At first glance, his only saving grace from complete conformity is his Realm, the feared Hisstor Wastes. But even then, he’s the quintessential Wasteland inhabitant, friendly to those from other Realms and displaying proudly his bone ornamentation. Most importantly, the thing he desires above all else is a family, namely oodles and oodles of children, to whom he would feel an overwhelming love for.
However, unlike others from Hisstor, if Louis does end up having children his devotion to them will be coupled with a passionate desire to eat them. He doesn’t know this for sure, poor thing, but he does know that when he’s around unrelated children he feels an unbearable drive to consume their flesh. This drive increases the younger the child is, eventually wearing away when he or she grows to adolescence. As such, he’d hardly be a fitting father – and heaven forbid he actually gives birth to his babies.
To me, a character is only as “good” as his or her complexity. Louis has the ultimate curse for a Card from the Hisstor Wastes, and as a result he is constantly warring with the monster inside himself. He’ll doing everything in his power to resist what naturally exists within him, and his personality will change as a result. In my opinion, this extreme inner turmoil is more important than a high rank or an exotic mixed breed (although those are great too, don’t get me wrong).

Entry #1 Your Name: Nafamere SD or Rabbit?: SD Realm/s: The Midori Beach Rank: Ace Breed/s: Insect (Caterpillar) Suit: Diamond Mutations: N/A
"And who Are You?"
He sits upon his most rested perch a large mushroom that he had found along his ventures. It sits relatively three feet from the top of the ground and has a tree right next to it. It made good a back rest when tired. He would often sit their and ponder at the things in life especially what would make life better for those that would happen to come by.
He views himself as a well rounded sage of his time. He never had once believed the fact that all the drugs that he had been smoking was the only reason that he felt that himself gave good advice. Instead what to him sounds like philosophical revaluations is just the ravings of a drugged junkie that had no real thought to process what he was stating. And yet... sometimes for the average passerby they would find solace in his words and act upon them when possible.
Ever meet a caterpillar? I haven't... thus I think that he would make a great SD in honor of the Alice in Wonderland setting that this board is placed upon! The fact that we all know who had read the book noted that the Caterpillar was in fact saine and quite rude in the fact in the beginning was turned upside down with this version of the character. Instead of smoking from the pipe as if it was tobacco it is instead something entirely different. I have thought and thought about this character from the very beginning of my joining.

Entry #1Your Name: Lucca Majere SD or Rabbit?: SD Realms: Highlands/Tulgey Wood Rank: Jack Breed: Feline Suit: Spades Mutations: Plants growing on her (two vines from the head and sharp thorns on front paws) This feline grew up in the wood, her parents were supposedly into lots of weird kinds of Tulgey Magic, her mother especially, which resulted in her rather odd mutations. Her Realm mix makes her rather aloof, not really trusting other people or expecting them to trust her, and she has a decent amount of magic. Her familiar is a very plant-like Mome, who can exude a fragrance that makes other Cards go into a sort of drowsy trance like state (if below a certain rank). I just think this mix would be awesome, because it makes for a pretty combination, and I really like the mystery surrounding Tulgey Woods. Of course it has to be a spade because I love familiars...I even decided to make one up. I know plants growing out of Card's bodies is usually a result of experiments or some kind of strange item...but I still think it's a cool mutation and one I'm not likely to ever get a Card with, but this is about what we think would be awesome, and I think it would be.

And because I was inspired....>>;; I, uh, hope it's okay that I did both so close together...XD Entry #2Your Name: Lucca Majere SD or Rabbit?: Rabbit Realm: Esterberry Rank: Doe Breed: Rabbit lol. XP Suit: n/a Mutations: Faerie wings and fluffs! Though from Esterberry, this Doe is a rather gentle sort, not prone to judging others with the harshness of other Esterberries, though this might just be because of how she was raised. She also seems rather quiet, and is cheerful a lot of the time, leading others to believe that she just had bad luck and didn't inherit the intelligence her realm is famed for. In reality, she is VERY intelligent, but she learned early on that most Jacks don't really want a Doe that can discuss deep philosophical or highly scholarly issues, or read...they just want a pretty face and a knowledge of bedroom tricks. She tries not to let it bother her, though constantly lacking for intelligent conversation has made her a wee bit eccentric, and every so often she'll fly into an odd mood when she just sort of...snaps from holding it all in. Usually she manages to 'plan' her mental breakdowns so that she's alone, but she has an odd reputation among some of the Leverets at her warren because of this. Well...I really, really like faerie fluffs...and I thought a Rabbit with them would be really pretty! Then I tried to think of a Realm that would look good with them, and came up with Esterberry. Though looking at the picture, I am not sure I like the color that I made the fluffs and wings. Also, this Doe seems like she'd have some interesting issues, on top of looking gorgeous. Hee~

Entry #1Your Name: Kari Muffin SD or Rabbit?: SD Realm/s: Hisstor Wastes/Torquehelm Rank: 2 Breed/s: Canine(Wolf) Suit: Clubs Mutations: Long Mane, Spine mutation (Like Conway's) XD uh, I forgot to draw her spine sticking out, but it does, like Conway's. And why is a physically impossible pipe dream child the Ultimate SD? We'll I'm so happy you decided to ask. I am particularly fond of the mix of the Hisstor/Torquehelm realms. The combination of colors are asthetically pleasing, and not to mention... I mean look at her! She's just so freaking pretty! But unrelated the beauty, I think personality is what makes a true "Ultimate Card" so I'll stop petting me ego and get serious. Sophia as I will call her, is an interesting case. Her personality is open to interpretation, mostly because she's not giving me any straight answers. She is a sarcastic sort of girl, only you would have to get her to speak in the first place. That being the difficult part. She only speaks to those she sees fits, and that is mostly people she considers family. A bond of blood is stronger than anything else, and she would only show her true self to those she holds dear. Without her family she feels that she's nothing. Even if her family is broken, they're hers. She wouldn't trade them in for the world. Change, that also makes the ultimate card. Taking a basic personality and watching it change. The Ultimate Card cannot be as such until it's developed beyond the realm of the artists basic concept. When it takes a life of it's own. And I imagine Sophia would, kind of like Peaches did. The open character interpenetration also makes her the ultimate card for me, making her my number one pipe dream awesome entry.

Because I was also inspired and... hope it's okay to put the two entries in separate posts? Entry #2Your Name: Kari Muffin SD or Rabbit?: SD Realm/s: Tulgey Wood/Torquehelm Rank: King Breed/s: Bat/ Reptile(Caiman) Suit: Heart Mutations: Her deformed arm, chains... sticking into her body? and I imagine her tongue not being able to fit in her mouth is something. Well yes, she is a Cosplay character. What character you ask? Ladydevimmon. Deranged. What's more deranged that a Tulgey elitist bitch who isn't a pure Tulgey? Her name is Deirdre. She thinks she should be the next Queen. Not the Queen of Hearts, of course, the Queen of everything. She wants to start another revolution. One where Tulgey's rule all the other regions with an iron fist. Or rather, her pretty little claws. People think she's a joke. Why wouldn't they? After all she has a deformed arm that almost reaches down to her feet, and she doesn't think she's part Torquehelm even when she clearly has chains grafted to her skin. They used to inhibit movement in her one arm, until she snapped them in her youth. That was the point where she just lost it all. She is also a raging jealous sort of woman. She thinks she's the prettiest thing since sliced bread. Even when she uh... isn't, but I wouldn't argue with someone who has that many sharp pointy teeth. That lizard part of her is notorious for being the "cold blooded part." Getting in a cat fight might prove fatal. And yes, she has a summonable weapons with a personality of it's own, though it doesn't have a form beyond that of a whip. She talks to it out loud, and the few people that know her give her looks. My second ultimate SD is a deranged lunatic.

Second EntryYour Name: Spiderfly SD or Rabbit?: Rabbit Realm/s: Corvistowne/Raemblen Bog Rank: Doe Mutations: Mane? Elongated Tail, Poison Spurs, Eye Colour? Seeing as Anubis translated so well into the world of SoD, I figured his woman Nora would as well. I took some liberties to 'spice her up' a bit. Namely the mane, and the piercings. The way I see it, Nora would be a beautiful mix of Corvie and the Bog. Her ankle spurs are not merely simply mutations, but they instead carry her Bog oil. Which has been concentrated, making the spurs poisonous. However this leaves the rest of her body free of the stinky oil that normally covers Bog dwellers. Her father was a Corvie scientist interested in the gasses that cover the bogs. He fell in love with a test subject and thus she was born! Because she was born outside the bog, she was never given a mask as it was unneeded. She has a strange interest in poisons, especially naturally occuring ones in nature. If she honestly became an SoD at any point, she'd HAVE to be played by Ams, who is the rightful owner of the muse for this girl. But I must say, she's so beautiful and odd that she is definitely an 'Ultimate' Doe for me.

Oooh, this sounds like a fun contest! ^.^ There are several great entries so far. I'm inspired to create one or two of my own. But I have a question that I need to ask first:
Can our ideal SD be based on an "unheard of" species like a dolphin, for example?
