Yellowed blades of bone were raised ever so carefully, the digits of the leveret's claws flexing slightly to change the angle of them. It was not an effortless movement, but one that was slowly being trained into usefulness. Finally, they came together, the 'shnick' sound piercing the quiet air as they sliced away a single, stray branch from the hedge bush. Finally, it was complete. Before him stood a simple, crude looking rabbit, a lush green creation molded by his very own claws. There was the sound of sharp claws coming in contact with greenery, and Aleah shrieked and jumped back as leaves flew about everywhere. The head of the hedge-rabbit flew into the air for a moment before landing at his clawed feet. Now in front of the hedge stood a rather proud looking Doe, her dark eyes filled with satisfaction as she rose up from her battle stance. Sheathing her claws, she smirked. Aleah though, was not amused. "Why did you have to go and do that??" His young voice was shrill, his own tired frustration building at his sister's unyielding grin. As was typical of most of his nights, he hadn't slept well. He'd been up most of the night, wanting to close his tired eyes and drift off but had little success. There were just too many things on his mind.. too many things buzzing in his head and keeping him awake with their noise. Regardless of what it was, his mood was affected by it. Aisha wouldn't take much notice of his insubordination. Technically, he had no right as a leveret to speak to her like that. Still, she never made much of a big deal about it. They were siblings, after all, and she knew of his sleepless nights and almost pitied him for it. This didn't mean she wouldn't mess with him a bit. He was often a target for her aggression, if not directly then indirectly as she liked to take it out on the objects he paid most attention to; the garden. She had to be careful though; father didn't take kindly to the complete mutilation of his hedges. "Oh, come on now, it was funny! You should have seen the look on your face!"With a sniff, Aleah carefully wiped his red, swollen eyes with the back of his paw. He wasn't always so successful in taking care, as his face already harbored a few new scratches from earlier in the week. "The Czar will be angry with what you've done..""Just reshape it like you always do. He'll never notice.""I.. I wanted to shape it to look like a rabbit.." Obviously Aleah would not be easily appeased, and Aisha sighed in response, casually smoothing back the fur on her ears. Guilt? If so, she hardly showed it. "Well if it makes you feel any better, that'll be the last one I'll do for a while. It's just.. so -boring-....." With a huff, she flopped down, obviously too interested in the sky to look directly at her brother. "The only thing interesting to do is lessons with the Czar and hacking down the occasional hedge.""Those hedges happen to be -my- hobby." Aleah countered testily, already hard at work reshaping the hedge despite the ache in his paws. Aisha gave a derisive sniff in response. She was not one to give anyone an inch if it meant a blow to her pride.

Talaith had managed to slip out and away from the warren for a little while and have some free time in a particularly shady bush she'd found in her explorations. She had, however, lost track of time when she'd slipped into a little.... rabbit nap. Well... I'd better get back before anyone notices I'm gone ... She slipped out of the bush, leaving a few strands of blue among it's branches and gaining a few little leaves and twigs in her mane as well, and stretched herself out. Just how long had she been sleeping? It was certainly... warmer then it had been. Now... if only she could sneak herself back in, that would be lovely. She moved across the grass with quick steps, making sure not to clink her bracelets together as she moved. Her mane, disheveled and scruffy as it usually was, bounced a bit with her steps as did her weighted ears. And, not long after she'd begun moving, she froze before slipping into a more stealthy creep. Now... if she could just slip by these two.... well, she could immerse herself in chores and life would be as it 'should' be.

Talaith's stealth techniques were actually quite effective, and she very much might have snuck past the two had it not been for sheer coincidence that Aleah spotted her. Now, he certainly hadn't meant to rat her out, but when he saw the familiar leveret sneaking past the garden, his breath caught in his throat, and there was no hiding it from his sister.
~~
With a wiggle of her ears, Aisha gave her brother an odd look as he stared off into the distance, and immediately cast a guilty look towards her. So easy to read, he was! Curious as to what caught her brother's attention, the young Doe turned hear head to see that striking mane of blue that stood out so well against the lush greenery.
"Hey, where have you been?" It seemed the young Doe might have been attempting an accusatory tone, but it was a weak attempt, more genuinely curious than anything. There was still a boundary of age that kept her from properly acting her rank; after all, the leverets were the ones raising them and in most circumstances, told them what to do. That would be something Aisha still respected. Knowing her place and her duty was already one of her stronger points even as a child. She'd need if she was ever to embrace the lifestyle of a Doe. Those were not thoughts that clouded her mind just yet, still quite young as were her siblings.

She hadn't even been paying attention to the children, her focus entirely on slipping through the warren door, but she did freeze when she heard the voice of the little doe. She bit back a sigh and straightened up her form to look as dignified as a scruffy little thing like her could be as she eyes Aisha for a moment. It seemed she was trying to get a little jump start on her future life... even if it was just a weak attempt. Talaith had seen enough youths to take a guess at what she'd be like... or maybe she was just making a few assumptions because of the girls mother... either way... well... she tried to avoid the little ones as much as possible.
She lifted a paw and ran it over her mane, which simply sprung back up once the paw was gone and started grinning a bit mischievously. Oh, perhaps she could have a little fun with this?
Well... I was out gathering clover buds when a great beast, with large teeth, decided to make an appearance. I've a feeling it has a taste for Rabbits as well.
She paused, arching a brow and her gaze slid to Aleah.... she had an inkling he might be more apt to believe her and she'd certainly not want to miss his face.

As if on cue, Aleah gave a soft gasp and visibly leaned back, as if thinking Talaith may have led the monster to where they were. Aisha though, was less apt to believe such things.. but that was to be expected. "Nuh uh! And if there was, he obviously had more a taste for clover buds than rabbits.. since you don't have any with you right now." Aisha challenged, though it didn't seem she thought 'foul play' was in mind. Unsheathing her claws, she threw her head back with a wide grin. "B'sides, I'm not a-scared of any kind of monster. I can fight them off no problem!"
Aleah turned a wary gaze toward his sister, gulping. He sure hoped his sister was right. "There... there wasn't really a monster, was there, Miss Talaith?"
"Of course there's no monster! The Czar wouldn't have anything of the sort around his warren." Aisha interjected, head held high, but she kept a close eye on Talaith, her grin barely able to be restrained. She wouldn't admit it, but she liked a wild story just as much as any child.

[.....this is the perfect opportunity for Hadrian to come in, omg... XDDD ] Hadrian had escaped from the palace and... got himself handsomely lost in the Highlands. He was still full of energy, though, and was just starting to realize his predicament. This game was starting to become less and less fun. He was feeling a bit hungry, on top of it all. A strong wind suddenly picked up and sent a familiar smell to him. Bunnies! They were Heilyn's favorite food, being a Coyote and all, and Hadrian had developed a taste for them as well. these ones smelled... weird, though. And was that the scent of cooking food, maybe? It was very faint, most of the scent covered heavily by a strong earthy smell. Either way, it was worth investigating! The ten-year old bounded off in the direction of the smell, curiosity lifting his spirits. Large, heavy feet pounded against the earth as he let out a short strain of odd, high-pitched Coyote yips to announce his presence. He was coming up on what looked like someone's... buried house... but he didn't want his presence to go unannounced! That would be rude to try to enter someone's territory without permission. Mommy taught him so. (Heh, sorry, I don't know what the Czar's Warren's borders are like. P: )

They both reacted exactly how she'd thought they would and it gave her a little ego boost, for now anyhow. Her expression slipped to one of shock as the young doe accused her of making up a monster. Now, honestly, why would she want to frighten these ... odd little children?! It took every fiber of her being not to crack up and not to tear up either.
She didn't even have to make any suspicious puses either.
Why my dear little Aisha... I dropped the basket in my escape. I'd certainly rather save my head then a basket of clover buds any day!
She was about to continue on and fill in some details when she thought she heard something.... odd. She lifted her ears forward, the tips of them bending under the weight of her earrings, and listened a bit more closely. Nope, she wasn't hearing things.... there was most definitely something coming toward them .... and if something happened to either of those youths it'd definitely be her butt in the frying pan tonight!
She hopped forward quickly and positioned herself where she figured she'd end up between the mysterious thing approaching and the two young rabbits, her voice as close to a hiss as a rabbit could muster.
Stay back.
She would have told them to go inside but really... since when did a child go inside when something mysterious and interesting was approaching? Aleah might, but Aisha certainly wouldn't... she was sure of it.

There was a moment where both children stood there for a moment, confused. The familiar coloring was enough to dumbfound them enough for the thing to come into focus... and it wasn't a rabbit... and its wide open, barking mouth sported long, vicious canines!!
"AAAAAHHH!" It was Aisha who croaked out the scream, nearly jumping out of her own skin as she jumped behind the very bush she beheaded.
Aleah though... just stood there and trembled. He had froze, blue eyes wide and ears pinned back, staring at the monster, waiting for his doom..
But something wasn't adding up. There was.. a strange symbol on it's chest.. that was familiar.. something the leverets had been talking to him about. Though he still trembled so hard his claws clacked together, he edged his way closer to Talaith to stand behind her. "That... that's not the monster you saw, is it?"
(OMG YES XD))

Oh, look! there were people there! Smiling wider, his pace quickened. He took a sharp intake as he realized they were, in fact, bunny-shaped... but their coats were marked like a Card's... one was a Solandrian! He quickly came to a stop, nearly tripping over his own feet in the process. He stood at what he perceived to be a border. He looked at them and the ground in front of him, panting and wagging his tail excitedly. His eyes were wide and words couldn't express his elation.
RABBITS! Real, live Rabbits! The stories were true! Well... obviously not! If they were the vicious, evil monsters there were in the fairy tales, then why did that one run behind that very oddly shaped bush? Why did the other one with claws seem so scared? Well, the other, obviously the older, was taking a more aggressive stance. This was to be expected, it was obviously protecting the younger ones from a stranger, and what idiot wouldn't expect aggression from a Solandrian?
"Hello!" he called out to them, "May I come in?"

She was entirely to surprised to speak for a moment, it wasn't everyday that a fictional beast you were beginning to spin a tale about just happened to... pop by. She'd filled her own head with all these ideas on terrifying beasts and for a moment he was just that, until the mark on his chest and his coloration rang a few bells in her mind and pulled her back to reality firmly, although it didn't help matters at all.
No... it's... real.
She admitted the original creatures false nature only because she didn't want the younger leveret to be fretting about an ambush or some other sort of silly thing.
Well, that smile of his was rather toothy (him being a canine and all), and those wide eyes weren't helping... nor was the fact that he was a fellow Solandrian. Oh, she'd heard tales when she'd live in the Glacier... the cards there weren't exactly the friendliest lot. All of these facts grouped together caused her stance to become all the more defensive and.... fluffy. Every brown hair on her body stood up and a good portion of her mohawked mane did as well (her equivalent of risen hackles), and her limbs stiffened up. She was not swayed at all by this innocent act!
What do you want?
