((Resta gives a yell of pain and horror as the Equine's neck suddenly bent backwards and teeth sank into her leg.
Yelling in anger and horror, unable to swing without falling off and losing a hunk of her leg, she vanished again. Leaving the Equine slightly off-balance, before appearing again beside Jo, sword in hand and an enraged snarl on her face. The expression pulls her scars tight, making her lip curl backwards into an ugly sneer as she seems to will the Equine back toward them... She's not- She's not having fun, is she?"))

It seemed everything happened much too quickly. He'd only just finished bandaging the mouse when the girls started screaming and mutating and then Thyme simply vanished. Suddenly the only conscious three were himself, the mouse, and the scarab mix. After the initial panic subsided, Ichigo kindly cleansed him and the other boy of their parent's gore and helped tend to the unconscious girls despite his many serious injuries. Alas, the help they needed could not be provided in the tavern and they were ultimately forced to leave the poor things on the doorstep while they went in search of help. From there, they walked. It was slow going since Ichigo was working with an awkward three-legged gate, but he was patient and it gave them time to get to know one another. Over the course of the two blocks, the scarab child had named himself Chandra (quite lovely) and Ichigo had offered him the name Nethanel when he could think of nothing. It was a good name, a strong name, and he accepted it gratefully. *** Meanwhile, Remi watched in morbid fascination as the fight's intensity increased. Blood splattered everywhere as the horse bucked and the woman slashed. At one point the beast even jerked into an angle where his back legs seemed to vanish entirely and only his living organs within could be seen. The ferret twitched and made a small noise, though whether it was disgust or excitement would be rather hard for Amherst to discern. He muttered half-interested acceptance when the man expressed their need to retreat. It was a terribly interesting fight but he was right, better to be alive than entertained. Suddenly the horse had the woman by the leg and she was screaming quite nicely until, as per usual, she vanished. He was rolling his eyes with growing distaste for this vanishing trick when Jo gave a startled cry. Spinning around he catches Resta beside Jo, scowling past him at the cannibal horse. Not good. He was abruptly in a very bad place between two very dangerous individuals with very little to defend himself with. He was going to find out how useful Mr. Birdy Meat Shield would prove to be. (Super long post is super long. @_@)

Ichigo was utterly distressed by the sudden disappearance of Thyme. He had no time to thank her, no time to make a witty comment back, she simply vanished. And the screaming was almost mind numbing after all that had happened, even when they passed out. Ultimately he had to pull himself together, clean the strange adult children off and go to find Thyme. Once his useless leg was tied up and out of the way he went to liming awkwardly, his entire body complained at the new form of abuse. But he kept his sword ready for a quick draw, just in case he had to defend with something, even if he had to use his mouth to fight. The boys were at least getting along. His one good ear twitched straining to hear signs of life over his own clanging. Were there people around here? They would certainly hear him coming if that was the case. -- There was suddenly someone standing right next to Josephine. She let out a terrified yelp, her head snapping up to see the woman with the sword. Her face was twisted into something utterly terrifying. Nothing should look like that, as far as the canine was concerned, and she had no idea what that face meant. It just looked scary. "You're insane!" she whimpered as she backed into the wall and stared at the woman in disbelief. Othello was startled by the sudden appearance of a thing besides the girl who was frantically telling him to move. Still drugged, and still disorientated the feline mix spat out a hiss, his tail half fluffing and his back arching. The woman quite clearly had a sword, and he had to be ready for something even if the world was wobbling. What the hell was going on, who were these people and who the hell had brought him here? Why wasn't he at the fountain where he was supposed to be? "Where did FF-Farrago, Webssster and Fenszik go?" He slurred, his lisp making things far more difficult than they should have been. He tripped over himself when he tried to back away more, landing flat on his butt with a baffled whimper.

Chandra couldn't stop shaking, no matter how hard he tried to think of something else, no matter how hard he tried to focus on the present, he kept reliving the first few moments of his apparent existence. His mother was dead, and it was his fault, and the guilt and loss was overwhelming. He had no father he knew, no siblings, no one to turn to, and where was he to go in this world without family? How was he to bear the shame, knowing that his mother's life had ended when his begun? Still, he managed to put one foot in front of the other and blindly follow the kindly Nethanel and the poor, bloodied Ichigo that was lovely enough to help the two of them. He did enjoy Nethanel immensely, though he was having trouble at the present communicating much with him - for example, how it was he came upon his name. He wasn't entirely sure, other than he felt he instinctively knew his mother's name started with a C, and he wished to honor that. Chandra just.. was him.

For a moment there, Amherst had actually gained a smidgen of respect for the clearly unstable Resta. Although it had appeared that she would originally attack the group, she had instead brushed past them to engage the horse. Amherst had to respect someone who cared so much for the safety of innocents as to place them outside of the fight to her disadvantage.
Amherst, Josephine, and Remus had, of course, taken advantage of the situation and moved even farther away. The fight, of course, had been spectacular, but it was clearly a stalemate. Resta's skill and magic seemed equal to the horse's neck and strength.
So, when things went bad for Resta, Amherst had assumed that she would just disappear and retreat. No harm in that. No shame. Instead, she appeared next to Josephine, putting not just her but Remus in danger. That was unacceptable. That was contemptible. That was something he could not allow.
Amherst cast a wing to the side, attempting to push Remus out of the way of the line of battle towards the alley wall and shoved his halberd toward Resta, attempting to pin her on the spearhead.
"This ends now!" he yelled with a ferocity not yet seen by the cards in this alley.

Eir gave a scream of rage when his prey escaped him yet again. Play the vanishing act, would she? Jump back and forth rather than standing up to fight, especially when he'd gotten a good hold on her, that was low! That was. . . cheating!
And no one was allowed to cheat in this game, but him.
Eir pinned his ears back flat against his skull, rearing up on those invisible hindlegs and cried a challenge at the stupid, bloody Josiggy who refused to stand still and fight. Two could play at that game, and two of them would.
The Yarrow stallion charged down the alley again, making a line towards Resta, but his pale coloured eye wasn't on her anymore. He didn't go too far this time, however, slinging his neck out to snap at the young ferret, hoping to nab some appendage with which to drag the creature back to him. He'd show them all for their cheating, and the ferret was going to pay the price.

Remi expected a lot of things in that precarious moment after Resta appeared beside Josephine, but none of this was among those expectations. Without warning Amherst thrust out a wing, knocking the surprised ferret out of the way, and spun on Resta! RESTA?! What about the shrieking horse!? The one that wanted to eat them, the one that was most likely going to trample them in his vicious pursuit of vengeance?!
Remi could usually maintain his composure in even the weirdest of situations. The belief that he was immortal fueled him and any damage that may fall upon him was often deflected by those around him. So when Amherst threw him into the open and he became aware of his vulnerability, a pang of panic set in and his prided composure crumbled into dust. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He shrieked, barely able to recognize his own voice in this new, squeaky octave.
The clatter of hooves alerted Remi to the charging horse and his eyes went wide for a split second as he twisted to escape, but not no avail. One of his middle legs was snapped into the horse's teeth and, unlike Resta, he could not teleport out of harm's way. He screamed but now there was something more than a panicked child in those big eyes.
Remi suddenly snapped around, latching to the horse's face with the remaining limbs not ensnared. "I will kill you for this, Cannibal!" He hisses as tiny little claws dug into whatever pieces of flesh and fur they could find and one in particular swung up with the broken bottle he'd stumbled upon before rejoining Amherst. Since stubby little legs wouldn't give him much range, Remi stabbed and slashed with the broken bottle at whatever piece of flesh he could catch. With a face and neck to work with, anything he managed to hit would be sensitive enough to potentially make the beast release him. (Rolled a 12 for attack)
***
Nethan twitched, one of his large ears suddenly panning forward. What... was that? It came again... Raised voices? He froze in mid step and a light frown spread over his muzzle before an alley ahead of them erupted into screams.
Good lord! What was that!? He whispered a quick prayer to Odom as his gaze shot to Ichigo. "We should do something?" His every fiber demanded he rush to the aid of whoever was suffering but doing so might mean bringing Ichigo and Chandra into danger... It was an agonizing conflict and his concern shone clearly in his blue eyes as he turned to Ichigo.

Josephine was still staring in disbelief at Resta when Amherst suddenly jumped into action. The little girl couldn't help but think it was a very bad idea to attack the crazy teleporting woman when she was still standing very close to her. The sword was out, and despite being against the wall in terror they were still in a alleyway, and she could easily get hurt. Remi's scream snapped her out of her staring astonishment. The horse monster was still charging. What? Oh suits? Oh suits! She howled in terror as she tried to get out of the way! (1) She tripped over herself, flopping to the ground with a whimpering thud. Oh suits, did she just break her nose? Othello could barely comprehend the situation as it was, the screaming only made things worse. He sat there dumbly for a few moments, deciding that no one was actually going to answer him while something horrible was happening. The thundering sound of hooves snapped him back to some semblance of reality (16), and he managed to bright himself to wobbling stand. Obviously he just needed to walk away from the screaming and the sounds. --- Ichigo didn't hear the screaming at first, his own sound nearly drowning everything out for him. When the deer mix was kind enough to state that something was wrong, the mouse's brow furrowed. He summoned Orihime shortly after the question. "Let me send her first, we don't exactly want to run head long into a fight right now." The mome made a disgruntled sounded as Ichigo issued her quiet orders. For a moment the Mid-Range swore she was giving him a dirty look before she hurried off to the alleyway. The mouse held his breath, the sounds were only getting louder. "Stay behind me boys," he said as he took the front. However stupid the idea was, he couldn't let these two strange boys waltz into harms way, even if he was injured.

It should have been a simple thing. Killing children was always a simple thing. They were small and weak. . . particularly tasty. . . and, at worst, they might give him a mild headache from their shrill screams until he broke their necks. The most trouble he'd ever had was that one little thing-- he couldn't remember what it was, maybe it was a girl?-- that had a protector. All he'd gotten that day was a tail. That had been his most shining failure when it came to eating children.
Until today. The ferret-y thing whirled around and started slashing back at him. THE WORLD HAD GONE INSANE, WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THESE CARDS?! Claws and a freakin' broken bottle came whirring at him. The stallion snorted in surprise, dropping the stupid little thing as he jerked his head backwards. (Rolled a 16 to dodge.) He somehow escaped that with only some shallow cuts rather than losing an eye, something he couldn't afford.
Screw this, he was going to squish the little bugger to death. Eir bared his teeth and started pawing with a hoof, trying to rip the ferret to pieces.

Success! Or, rather, a partial success. His flailing with the bottle didn't draw any blood, but it made the horse release him.
Which came to the not-so-successful part of falling. (Rolled a 19 for landing) The bottle had slipped out of his hand during his flailing, too heavy for the little paws to wield with much accuracy, and crashed somewhere out of view as he came crashing back down to earth. He landed awkwardly, bruising a shoulder in the impact, but he didn't have any time to celebrate the relatively minor injury.
(Rolled a 14 for dodge) His eyes snapped open just in time to see the hoof come flying down at him and he rolled swiftly to the side. He made it to his feet before another hoof came down on his tail tip. A loud yelp of agony escaped the boy as his tail broke cleanly, his fur bristling up from nose to the little broken tip as he shot out from beneath the direct threat of crushing hooves.
Free to retaliate, (rolled a 1) Remi stared in horror as he discovered he'd manage to land in the one portion of the alley without anything that could kill a man. Well, there was the shattered remains of his bottle but that didn't count. The fluffy ferret hissed in rage, staring daggers of hate at the horse.
***
Nethan nodded, "Right." It wasn't what he wanted to do, but it was logical and the mouse understood the reality of the situation far better than he did. His ears remained strained forward, but the screaming had apparently diminished. What could be going on in there?
