Tavor, Kristoff, Teo, Brandy, and Brooke all seem to be in quite the pickle! After all finding themselves down the same dingy streets for their own reasons, they were chased into a warehouse by an ever-growing wall of rather violent vines and plant growth! Once inside, their very short wanderings found them poor Teo, bound up inside of a box and quite possibly about to be tortured...though they couldn't say by whom. Brooke managed to stop Kristoff from murdering an odd little Jubjub they found, and the group located some strange silver trowels that the plants seem to fear... Back out in the square, they meandered through the remains of an old building before being chased toward another... This one has a light on inside...maybe there's someone in there? Who knows though, with a group this uncoordinated, they might just wander back into the plants! Still, they're surrounded by vegetation, Tavor's bleeding and so's Teo, and Kristoff's getting drunker by the minute. Who knows, right?

"Oh suits, Kristoff, do you have to try to hack up every damn thing you see?" Brooke pulled a handkerchief and offered to the rat mix. "Hey, you two.. lay off the booze, will ya?"
Brandy though, seemed more interested in chatting with his new admirer than thinking about the ominous growths wrapping around the building. Perhaps with his trowel, he felt like a little badass. It would seem so with how he took it and waved it about as he talked about his photoshoot that got him in that magazine they'd found. At Brooke's sharp harping, Brandy turned and gave a shrug. "Oh come now, go easy on the guy. Obviously he can't handle his own reflexes to imminent danger. Tavor -did- just appear out of nowhere. Popping up and scaring all us wary folk, Naughty Boy"
Brooke clearly had the 'are you fucking serious' face. "Brandy. Stop drinking, and get serious or I'm gonna pull all of that goddamned hair out of your head."
Though it might have been an empty threat. (The operative word is 'might'), Brandy paused from his snickering and conversation. "Daaayum girl. Fine, fine. I still say this isn't as bad as animated blob creatures and Selkies faling out…" A very pregnant pause.
"… Dead all over the place? Washing up on the Midori shore? Stacked up and burned? Yeah. I know. "
Brandy shifted most uncomfortably, the tall equine practically shrinking under the female's sharp gaze. "I'm sorry..."
Within a breath's time, Brooke's ire managed to deflate, rubbing her face with a sigh. "Right… right… it's fine. Just… give that lantern back to the rat, will you? Honestly… snatching things from people and not giving it back."
Sheepishly, the horse offered Tavor the lantern back.
Awkward.. awkward silence. Brooke fidgeted unsurely for a moment before casting a glance around the warehouse. Other than the jug of mead, it didn't look like it held much of use. "So. Two options. We can fight to get the hell out of dodge and try to escape the city… or try to find the source. I vote for playing the reckless hero, but I don't expect that from the lot of you... Self preservation and all."

The raggedy cat's tail lashed in response to the pretty Queen's question, and he leered in her general direction. "I fink it'f beft if we ftay on guard, rader den gettin' all caught unawaref an' gutted like fifthef." he remarked obstinately, giving Brandy a nod of agreement. "No' my faul' he fout it'd be good ta juft be dere allafudden like dat."
At Brandy's mention of the previous events, a small shudder went through Kristoff. He crammed the bottle of mead back into the bag he'd been carrying, giving the horse a small and sad little shrug. Perhaps later there would be time for more booze to enter the equation.
He settled back and listened half-heartedly as the Selkie woman spoke, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. Of course she would go with the heroic route. Of course. And if a woman was going to be the hero, there was no way in hell Kristoff was going to turn tail and run... Especially not after what had happened the last time he'd done that. The fur along the back of his neck stood on end. "We'll fin' de fthorfth. Ftartin' wif' dat ligh' over dere. If you wanna come, den come."
No need for further discussion. Kristoff turned and walked in the general direction of the light.

He twitched his feather tipped tail a bit as he listened to everyone's banter. Interesting bunch this one was. White ears moved forward a bit when the selkie offered him a handkercheif, a smile tugging up the corners of his maw. Nice lady, this one. Normally Queens made him all kinds of uncomfortable, but Brooke was turnign out to be a delightful, and rather sensible, addition to this little group. He dabbed at the blood on his cheek, avoiding the arrears he'd applied the healing powder to. He stayed quiet, but at the mention of the selkies he put his ears back and placed a hand on Brooke's shoulder sympathetically if she'd allow it. The Lowlands weren't much better off, but at least they hadn't all died a slow death due to soem form of mutant illness. Although burning to death didnt' exactlysound all that fun either. He declined the offer of getting the little lamp back. I t-think it'd be better with you, you're taller, so the light will go a little farther. And I might need to dissappear again.

Teo fluttered his wings uneasily before tucking them back firmly against his body. He needed them for balance with his one foot bitten badly enough to bleed that much. Hopping on one foot was fine and yes, he could manage easily enough, but there were special considerations needed.
"As much as this whole situation really makes me uneasy, I think we should go upstairs," Teo agreed awkwardly. "I'd like to know what's going on in that top room. I mean, I'd like not to be here more, but... um. Yeah. Up?"

Admittedly, Brooke's first thought when the lowlander mix was 'ew', but she managed not to let it show on her face. It would do good to have some sympathy for him, since it wasn't only her realm that had seen tragedy. Unlike the affliction that took her people, the thing that killed the Lowlanders was still hunting them down. She cast a small smile Tavor's way before perking at Teo's statement.
"Upstairs? Oh…" Brooke had almost forgotten about the upstairs. "Perhaps a quick look wouldn't hurt." After all, it seemed Kristoff was charging his way toward the light upstairs. Oh, goodness, he was charging off! Brooke hurried on after him.
Brandy grinned Tavor's way, ever the charmer and feeling delightfully buzzed still. "Not a problem. Light the way, I shall!" He gestured toward the stairway. "After you two, then."

The door opened easily enough for them and led to a cramped, damp staircase, leading upwards. It opens out onto a second level, and goes up a further two, should they choose. The second level is completely dark and some of the rooms have been left ajar, again as though the inhabitants left in one Hell of a hurry. 15 doors, 5 open, and of those 5, 3 smell...bad. Thick and sickly, like someone lost their lunch inside... All involved need to roll a D20.
