One of the doors suddenly slammed outward, shards of wood flying across the room and embedding themselves in Tavor's already injured face and Kristoff's back. Something huge and dark hurtled out of the remains of the doorway, howling in what sounds like fear or pain...or both. The creature is beyond recognition, its face is buried under a mass of writhing plant matter and its body almost appears to be...covered in holes, through which long vines and root-like structures are wriggling. It stands about 8 feet tall, its arms overextended and writhing with decaying and vibrantly healthy plant-life. Teo fell backward with Brooke; both crashing into a small table and away from the hulking form, Brandy following quickly behind them. The table fell apart painlessly and a small silver trowel rolled out.
The beast screeched a garbled string of what might have been half-intelligent sounds, before slamming its upper body against the wall, and hurtling directly for Tavor.

It was another hallway, much like the one that had come before it. Except... Different, somehow. Kristoff leered at it mistrustfully, narrowing his eyes to try and focus the good one a little better. That mead had been good shit. He'd almost certainly need the rest of it, later.
There was a horrible smell in the air. Kristoff knew the smell intimately well - after all, how many times had he had just a little more of whatever substance the day had brought than his body could handle, and produced it himself? It was the smell of back-alleys behind bars, of mornings of regret. But something about this... This didn't smell at all like that. This had a terrible air to it. Nah. He didn't much like it. Kristoff prowled slowly down the hall, head low to the ground, as he made his way to one of the doors that led to the stink.
Only to be caught unaware as one of the doors EXPLODED in his general direction.
"FUKKIN' 'ELL!" The raggedy Feline howled, a pained note to his voice. The impact of the wood made him stumble, crashing into the wall opposite the door where the thing had emerged (5). Oh, for fuck's sake...
Kristoff hardly had a chance to look at the thing before it was flinging itself at Tavor. There just wasn't anything to be done for it. With all the strength he could muster, the feline lunged at it, his own silver trowel in mouth as a makeshift weapon. Normally his own teeth would be a better choice, for sure, but... In this case, the item was a better bet (16).

The Feline's trowel caused the thing to screech, but not retreat, as it began trying to tear at both Cat and Rat, instead of just one. It's hands seemed to be so badly twisted and mutated, that it could only use them like clubs, swinging about seemingly at random. Maybe...maybe it can;t see.

Brandy certainly hadn't expected -that-. It was his luck at being near the end of the line, and being relatively dextrous on his feet that he didn't do something retarded, like stumble into the damn monster. Instead he found himself falling backwards onto a cushion of squirming bodies. His hand landed on one of Brooke's spines (Rolled a 4, poor guy), causing a rather painful puncture on the fleshy part of his palm.
He winced, retracting his hand quickly as he tried to regain footing.. The lamp lay on the floor, tilted to the side and leaking oil. Wincing, he crawled over to pick the lamp up before it started a fire, lifting it up to illuminate the commotion only to see the monster lunging toward Kristoff"What --- fuck is that?!"
Having a table slammed into her back wasn't her most favorite of feelings, for sure, even if it crumpled easily enough under their combined weight. There were horrible noises sounding off in the hallway, glimpses of it in the light of the overturned lamp causing Brooke to fall silent… at least until she saw Brandy awkwardly tripping over his own feet towards her and Teo. She cringed, turning inward to partly shield herself and the prone avian as Brandy collided heavily with the skunk.
In the next few seconds it was a flurry of movement, with Brandy scrambling back toward his lamp. When he lifted it, it only further illuminated the horrific visage of the monster. Oh.. shit.
Brooke stumbled back up to her feet, but had to brace against a wall to keep from toppling over again, a stroke of terrible luck on her part. Kristoff seemed to get a stroke of brilliance in that thick, backwater head of his when he used a silver trowel as a weapon. It was then she became aware of a small glint in the corner of her eye, another trowel that had fallen out of the table they'd obliterated. Without hesitation, she grabbed it up off the floor.
"Brandy, the trowels!"
The equine turned, staring dumbfoundedly at the Selkie for a moment before coming to his senses. He scrambled for his purse to pull out the trowel he'd been keeping and swing it in the general direction of the monster. A lot of good that would do, considering the monster was significantly closer to Kristoff. Maybe it'd at least keep him safe?

Teo trailed along with their little group up the stairs, his hopping more precarious with only one leg. Pushing too hard on the other would only start it bleeding harder. He tried to stay near the back so that he could more flutter than step.
When they reached the next level, his nares flared briefly before he made a disgusted face and recoiled. Eugh. Smelled like a school bathroom the morning after a party. This wasn't the floor with the light, not at all, but... how long ago had people left? He wished there was some way to know.
Then things started happening and Teo couldn't hold back a scream of shock and fright as some sort of terrifying person lunged their way with a sound that scared the crap out of him! He jerked away on instinct, crashing into the Selkie as both of them went sprawling into a table. He only narrowly missed being crushed to tiny birdy bits by the lovely horse woman falling just after him.
Panting in terror, he heard Brooke yelling something about towels and had no idea what could have possessed her until he saw her waving another of those silver things that kept the plants away. Kristoff had one too. And Brandy. And... and him.
Rolling into a better, if awkward, position, he picked up his fallen digging implement and waved it for a second. Then he got a funny look on his face, raised his wings high, and aimed a blast of Spade water at the creature (9).

Flailing frantically, the thing managed to get a hand around Brooke's throat... Or well,...what used to be a hand. Thick vines wrapped into her fur and the feeling of hot, raw, flesh, swept wetly along her white fur.
The blast of Spade water from Teo caused the thing to scream loudly enough to ensure that everyone's ears rang (everyone please roll a 20). It retreated from Tavor, but flailed all the harder, denting the walls and tearing another door down.

That smell was absolutely awful, but it was one he could familiarize with a part of his mind. sometimes he just didn't ask a lot of questions from some of the buyers of his more.... questionable plant varieties. He should, and would do so if he didn't have a family to support. The shady characters tended to be the ones he got the most monetary gain from.
But another part of it made his stomach turn with just how, well, not right it was, There was something off about this hallway, but suits .... what part of tonight had been normal anyhow?
The door that exploded outward was on his blind side, no way he could have seen the shower of sharp splinters coming. A good amount of the wood bits that came his way embedded themselves in his muzzle, cheek and even a couple hit his nose, ear and various other parts of his body. An incredibly shrill sound of fear and pain intermingled escaped his maw and he turned to face the.... the thing. The plant monster? Wait.... what? He'd worked with plants most of his life and he'd never seen or heard of anything quite like this.
He backed away, his remaining eye wide before he felt his back hit the wall behind him. Trapped .... and the thing was coming ever so closer. In an attempt to get away before anymore harm befell him, he activated his cloak ability [5], but not before the creature, monster.... thing got in a jab. [[ if not, lemme know and I'll cut this out <3 ]]
When he reappeared he was behind the trio, far enough away not to get thwhaked by any one of them this time and used his club ability again, this time combining a paralytic powder with a sleeping powder and aiming it for the creature, hoping they might work on whatever the hell this thing was. [17]
[[ Tavor rolled a 6 >.> ]] Cloak Power: At night he will have the ability to change himself into pure shadow while wearing the cloak. He will make no sound and can take on the form of other people's shadows should he chose. However, while in this form, he cannot speak or touch, smell, or taste anything, he is substanceless but conscious. He cannot communicate telepathically while like this or do anything beyond move. When he changes back though, he will have a near photographic memory of what he has seen while he was a shadow and he will be able to spy very easily this way <3 Strong Magical Ability: When activated, he can move or shift dusts and powders, making them nearly invisible but in the air surrounding a twenty foot span of area/people.
