There was very little that filled the world with more sadness than angst, and if there was one thing he disliked it seeing people he cared about having sadness-making angst. The only surefire way to make people happy again was to talk and maybe hug it out, but his boyfriend was the reticent type, and prying information out of his mouth was was more difficult than trying to pry open the lid to a bottle of pickles. But then a solution presented itself, as solutions often magically did, in his experience. He was going to get Zeev to do something that no person he had ever loved had done. He was going to get him to go to therapy. Of course, getting that ball rolling was an issue. If Zeev wasn't going to be forthcoming enough with him it was unlikely that he was going to talk to a stranger. And Iphis was generally not good at being crafty. Every time he tried to get sneaky, the truth seemed to weasel its way out of his mouth like a tricky little worm of veracity. So he brought it up the most tactful way possible: bluntly, and while snuggling. "Sooooo," he said. "...I think we should go on an adventure."

It had been a good bit of time since that day he had followed the fairy-canine home. Though it had never been officially discussed between the two of them for one way or the other, little by little Zeev had come to find himself living full time there in the apartment with Iphis. Small adjustments had been made in the way things were organized over the house, and even though he usually tried to leave and stay away from her he would find himself drifting back to help her, or make sure she was okay, or many other real reasons or excuses. In the end he had just forced himself to accept it. It was not all that bad a setup honestly. And through all of this he had become accustomed to the strangeness that was Iphis. So at the female's latest random suggestion he glanced down at her. "An . . . adventure?" He asked in his low voice while lofting a brow.

"Umm-hmm," he said. The quirked brow indicated some degree of skepticism; he supposed that couldn't be helped; he was just going to have to forge on ahead. "A fun one. Not like shopping or anything. This is going to be fun for you. Eventually."
Maybe? Possibly. Therapy was good for everyone in the end. He wished he could convince everything else he knew to attend. He felt like they could overcome a lot of issues that way. It would be a strange world if Mom didn't hate everything all the time and Vishne would speak to them all or if Se stopped being axe crazy. That would surely rip some kind of hole in the space-time continuum; the universe might collapse in on itself.
"I think you should...talk to people. Professionals! Very smart people, I hear." He nodded vigorously to emphasize the point. "Know their stuff."

Zeev felt some of the blood drain from his face at Iphis comment that it would be fun for him. That could either mean it was indeed going to an interesting adventure or utter embarrassment. And he would not know which till Iphis already had him out of the house.
Still a little leery, he put the question to her. "For me ?" Maybe he had heard wrong. He hoped.
Apparently, he had not.
Shifting, he positioned himself so that he could better meet the female's eyes. "Let me get this straight. You want me to talk to people. Not just any people but 'professional' people. And just who, might I ask, classify as these 'smart people' that you have in mind?"
Something of an inkling told him that the canine snuggling against him had more in mind then just a simple 'hail-thee-well', casual conversation.

He looked up at Zeev, trying through some kind of mental magic to convince him that this was perfectly good idea and he should accept it with open arms. For all practical purposes, he just looked like he was pleading.
"Yes, you," he said. He certainly didn't need therapy; he prided himself on being the well-adjusted member of his family. Not that it was difficult to be more well-adjusted than scary batmen and scary Helenas. Poor sister. He needed to take her to the therapist sometime. It would do her much good, provided she did not try to just have her wicked way with the therapist. "The person I have in mind is very well-regarded in his circle! And can help a lot, I think."
The fact that said professional had other, stranger areas of expertise was not so much an issue. A professional wouldn't try anything funny.

He continued to eye the other male with a sinking feeling filling his gut. Whenever the canine started to use those puppy eyes to their evil's fullest there was not much that the wolf found he could deny the male. Well usually.
"How likely is it that you are not going to let this go unless I agree to go along with it?" He asked trying to keep the sigh out of his tone.
If this was something that the male was going to 'force' upon him then he was, indeed, going to go out with his dignity intact - agreeing to the terms - rather than having it dragged on the floor - resisting. Not to mention he could just go to one of these . . . talks, and then if the wolf deemed it not worth is time well, Iphis would just have to deal with it.
"Fine. Just when is it that we are suppose to meet these people?"

Iphis cheerfully pointed out that the likelihood of him letting it go was pretty slim, this time. Mostly he was content to let things slide, because he believed that few things were worth making other people upset and poisoning the atmosphere with unpleasantness, and he generally felt embarrassed when stubborn people kept pushing things despite how clearly uncomfortable other people were getting.
But occasionally Iphis himself got stubborn. It was a weird feeling, like wearing pants--never quite fit right. But he felt that this a was a genuinely good thing to do for Zeev, and he wasn't going to let it go. He was pretty sure it wasn't all going to end in tears.
"I sort of made a tentative thing for...two days from now?" He didn't know why he tended to phrase things as questions when he got nervous. Maybe he could ask the therapist. "In case you decided to give it a go."

Zeev raised an eyebrow questioning if his mate truely meant it as a question or was just starting to get nervous. He was betting nervous and gave a resigned sigh. Even if he could have said no he had a feeling that it would not have gotten him anywhere and it would not have pleased Iphis to any degree. Oh well, apparently it was all decided and would just have to play out.
Maybe it would not be all that bad.
He hoped that Iphis had not spent too much money on the session.
~~~~~
"Are you ready yet" He asked again. It was now the 'in two day's time' and he was waiting for Iphis to be ready so they could go. He wanted to get this done and over with.
When Iphis finally declared himself done and ready to go Zeev held the door for her, ushering her out first before closing and locking up. Knowing Iphis he would probably never lock his door - offering it up to lost and wandering children - if the wolf never took it upon himself to do it.
He did not know how Iphis had managed to make it to adulthood without him. Seriously.
((I assumed somethings about Iphis and Zeev's relationship interaction here so let me know if I need to change any of it or if it's dead on XD;;*luffs*))
Iphis cheerfully ignored the pointed call. It wasn't so much that he was deliberately trying to make them late, but rather that he had a very long mane that needed a very thorough brushing to retain sheen, vitality, and bounce. And then it needed flowers.
It was important.
Besides, they were making perfectly good time. He smiled at Zeev as they left and the wolf locked the doors behind them--Iphis usually didn't bother. They were in a perfectly nice neighborhood (Vishne had even called it the gayest place on earth, bless him; Iphis thought it was a happy place too), and any ruffian who might take it upon himself to break in would be faced with the most undesirable of bounties--who considered reams of lace a reward, after all?
(Well, Iphis would, but he was ready to acknowledge that he didn't have the same mindset as the criminal element.)
"This way!" he said, and led him on to destiny. Or therapy. They were basically the same thing.
Knowing his partner was going to take a surprisingly amount of time that still never ceased to amaze the wolf, he sat back and tried to keep patient. He still was not sure how he felt about the task that Iphis had set before him.
Thank goodness, He thought when Iphis finally came out of the room. The time had been well spent though, by his opinion at least. Giving his female a gentle, and oddly affectionate, nudge when she passed, he followed after.
As they walked down the streets, Iphis in the lead to their doom, he kept an eye out for those who were passing by and hanging out on the streets. Once or twice his eyes landed on someone he was sure was out to rob them both if they could. More than once he had tried to convince her they should move to another part of town but each time Iphis seemed to somehow divert them coming to a conclusive decision.
