Hatter grinned with pleasure and excitement. Oh yes! He was going to get to go to the palace sooner than he thought, then! He didn't really know protocol or anything either, but he'd be on his best behavior so long as Peaches's not getting trouble depended on it.
"It's alright if I can't, I've actually got a little flat there. Though a perfect inn is always interesting as well, I like new places. It'll probably be closer too."
Yes, he had inherited quite a bit from his mother during her passing and between that inheritance and his own skills he'd managed to amass a little fortune. Oddly enough, however, instead of lavishing himself in finery or prancing around like a noble, he spent it on apartments. Well, aside from tea, hats, and mechanical bits that is. It simply made his penchant for wandering off at random occasions just a bit easier on himself.
He had three 'homes' away from home: his main manor in Corvistowne, his condo in the City, and his flat in the Highlands. It was great fun to just get up and have a change of scenery from time to time, staying in one place for too long just drove him mad.
"I animate them with magic, but the actual crafting I do by hand. I like the challenge, actually. Otherwise I'm bored most of the time." He laughed cheerfully, stroking her to add emphasis to his words. "Weren't you the one that said I'm good with my hands?"

Peaches giggled a bit as she purred. Warm, soft, and petting. And being generally amusing. Yes. This was just lovely. "Mmm well. Yes, you're very good with your hands. That's why I was a little confused."
She sighed happily as she purred there quite comfortable on his midsection. What else could she find out about him? He had an apartment in the Highlands herm? He must have been far enough away that Peaches hadn't heard of him from all the gossip that went on in the inn. She was pretty sure they would talk about some eccentric man with hats in the Highlands.
"You know. I spent two years in the Highlands and never heard a word about you in all of the gossip. I can't imagine you being low profile, but I was apparently thinking wrong. All the better though. I doubt anyone would ask questions at the palace then." Peaches smirked as she looked up at him.

Hatter had expected that question.
The Highlands were full of gossip and the like and men such as himself stood out like sore thumbs. Hatter, however, was more discreet than most would assume. Than even he would assume from time to time. He didn't like to blend it, not really, but he sadly recognized the need to do so.
"Did you?" He paused for a moment, trying to think of any gossip that might have reminded him of Peaches. No... His focus had been elsewhere. It usually was if he was some how managing to not make a scene. "Perhaps I was there before you? I didn't know it was possible to slip around without notice, even when masquerading."
In all honesty, he probably wasn't. He had, however, been snooping at the time and the Court of Hearts had not been his interest at the time.
"But honestly, I don't believe I was anywhere near the Palace. I would've gone in and taken a look at Serafino's famous rose garden. I was, however, looking for secrets. The Highlands are full of them, even when you venture away from the Palace. Like Cats, I've always been interested in them."
Cats and Rabbits and all those strange and unusual things. He wanted to know all he could about them.

Peaches ears would have perked if it were possible in her human form. She answered his other question first. "Oh yes, I didn't want to go into the palace unprepared. I studied all of the people there before I made my entrance through the window. Didn't want to be burned to a crisp or anything."
Now. Other topic. Peaches actually sat up and crawled over to be by his head, so she could look into his eyes. The woman was only an inch or so away from Hatter's face as she spoke. "Cats? You're really interested in all of those strange things? Are you interested in Rabbits and things like that?" Her eyes widened at the thought. She was pretty sure that all of those mysterious things did in fact exist despite what some people claimed. What else could he be interested in?
"One day, certainly not now, you need to tell me all you know. But it'll have the wait until I have something to tell you in return. I can't just take information from you without giving you some," She smirked. Peaches could wait, easily, but she would definitely have a reason to visit him more often. Knowing Things was just too fun not to ignore.
She liked him on the nose, "Friends exchange information after all. They don't take it."

"That's a smart idea, I believe. Though from what you told me, they still weren't fond of the window thing." He chuckled. "I still can't imagine why they wouldn't want you crawling through their window. I think it'd be a pleasure."
As she crawled up to be at better eye level, Hatter perked with excitement. Could she really be interested in those things as well? Cats and Rabbits and all those wonderful myths that were not really myths. Perhaps she would even be interested in meeting with Marchie? He was a bit much for most, being both a Rabbit and rather...well, manic...but he was otherwise harmless.
Still though, he was quite overwhelming and Hatter wasn't fond of the idea of scarring her with his Rabbit friend quite yet. Maybe one day though.
"Of course! Cats and Rabbits and," he winked playfully, "even Jokers!" The Hatter laughed warmly, returning her lick with a kiss. "An information exchange sounds wonderful." If only he could purr the way she could, he would've been rumbling with pleasure. "I can't wait~"

"EEE!" Peaches said suddenly as she half tackled hugged him to the bed. The sudden burst of energy was something she didn't expect, or know particularly where it came from. She was just happy. Thank you, Hatter, oh so very much. She licked his cheek again as she very fondly pinned him to the bed.
She blinked a few times. Something caught her eye from the window. Apparently there was a little bit of light showing through after all. Peaches raised an eyebrow. How long had they spent with each other? Time did escape Peaches more often than not, but she had to wonder this time. Talented Hatter had probably distracted her longer than any man--or living person--before him.
Her purr returned as she remained on top of him. He was going to have to move her if he wanted to change positions. She wasn't going to stop clinging and purring to him unless he protested.

Hatter let out a yell of amusement once he was tackled and slammed back into the bed by a flying and oh-so excited Peaches. Hatter laughed loudly, hugging her tight to him an snuggling her with pure affection. Like he had distracted Peaches, Peaches had distracted him as well. Very few people could keep him in one place, let alone in bed, for this very very long.
Listening to her purr as she laid atop of him was quite perfect but while he wasn't at all about to begin protesting, that did not mean at all that he wouldn't play.
It would mean disrupting his oh-so-comfortable place on the but, in the end, it would all be worth it. He proved that exceptionally well when, abruptly, he switched their positions. Without warning he was pushing her down into the bed and looming over her, grinning handsomely all the while. "Ha!" He laughed aloud, grinning widely. "Gotcha."
Oh yes, he was quite sure he had started something just then but, honestly, he was looking forward to it if he had.

"Oh noes! The big bad Hatter has meh!" Peaches said as she wiggled under his grip, completely joking, of course. Why else would she talk like that? Well, it did seem quite appropriate in the current situation.
"And what is Mad The Hatter going to do with me?" She purred. If it were possible she was too happy that would be right now pined under a very handsome man who could do whatever he wanted to her. Oh yes, that was fantastic. Fantastic didn't even cover it.
She wiggled a bit in protest. If she really wanted to she had enough skill to wiggle out of his grip, but where was the fun in that? The man was good with his hands, creative, and obviously a touch out of his head in a good sort of way. The possibilities were absolutely endless, but she liked the conclusion that ended up in more distractions.

Hatter laughed aloud as he pinned the charming feline beneath him, his two-toned eyes shining like contrasting jewels. She was such a fun person, more so than most of the people he met. Especially moments like these. He really didn't have enough friends that were relaxed and playful and were not stuffy about their personal space.
"That's a good question, Pretty Kitty, what is Hatter going to do with you?"
He arched a brow and winked playfully, everything about him full of playful suggestion. If she wasn't so full of cute temptation he would've been inclined to go the exact opposite direction of his implied playfulness. Instead, however, he dove happily into the prospect of further distraction and Peaches was a very!nice Distraction.
By the time morning had become afternoon and the sunlight seeping past the curtains was too much to ignore, Hatter slid to the edge of the bed and stretched dramatically before returning his gaze to the Perfect Stranger that was occupying his bed.
"I imagine some breakfast should be in order, or perhaps lunch now?" He laughed a little, rubbing the back of his neck. He honestly had no food right now...but... "I don't have much to eat but I fancy I've got a nice Highland Breakfast brew and I'm not at all adverse to taking a fine lady out for lunch."
