Peaches brushed hair out of her face as she walked into the sunlight. It was always so very nice out here with all the roses. Not only were they beautiful, they smelled lovelier than anything she had smelt in her entire life. But that wasn't what she should be thinking about. She glanced around the garden and spotted a fuzzy white an purple figure on top of one of the rocks. She glanced down at her daughter and waited for an explanation.
Xiven made a slight uncomfortable noise before looking up at Miss Mephit instead of responding to her mother's glance with a proper explanation. "So this is the garden, not much to explain, but it's a good place to rest or get away from people. In Fluffy's case I suppose it would be sleep. Heh." Xiven blushed a bit under her fur. Thank heavens it was black.

Mephitisia almost looked like a snake in the sun, her eyes closing momentarily as she took in the roses and the sunlight. Today was a better day for Mephitisia than most, having recently gotten into the Courts and other such pleasantries, and she was game for enjoying the garden. When her eyes reopened, they lay rather quickly upon the tailless feline which had caught the attention of mother and child.
There was certain familial resemblance between them but Mephit paid it little mind. Instead she focused on the blushing Queen and the realization that this was the missing 'Fluffy'. Was it worth it to say that she wasn't entirely fluffy? No, not really.
"Would this be the same Fluffy that you were intending to take for a walk?" She grinned a little at the young Queen and then glanced up at the woman looming above her, waiting for an explanation. "Perhaps you ought to fetch her then?" The little thing didn't appear to be wandering per say, but Xiven's mother appeared to prefer she kept it on a short leash and for good reason as well.

"Yes... that... that's Fluffy," Xiven said quietly as she trotted over to the rock and managed to sit besides the feline. She felt bad waking her up, but Mommy Peaches didn't seem to appreciate it. The young Queen pawed at the carefully at the feline on the rock.
Peaches sighed as shook her head. "I told you to be careful Xiven, you don't want anyone to find Fluffy and hurt her or anything." The mother sighed and turned to Mephit. "But this is the garden, and it's obviously enjoyed by quite a few people, including my daughter's darling little pet."
She shrugged. What as their next stop? The kitchen. It was much less exciting than the gardens that was for sure. "We can stay here for a bit if you like. It's a lot nicer out here than the kitchens and such. And there's no need to hurry anywhere unless you want to hurry."

Fluffy's dreams had her chasing things through the gardens, the smell of roses all around her and the sun warm on her fur, bugs running away from her paws as she bounded through the grass. Her dream-self didn't have to worry about tripping for some reason so she could run at full-tilt, pounding against the earth and avoiding all the thorny rosebushes in favor of catching the mouse that ran just ahead. Just as she leaped forward, paws outstretched to catch it -
- she felt herself being shaken by a careful paw and sleepily opened one eye. When she saw her mistress sitting next to her, she smiled and mewed happily, shifting her body to lay against Xiven's side, purring. She was sun-warmed and happy and now her owner was here. And the gardens really did smell as good as they had in her dream. What a beautiful day. "Sleepy," she murmured.
Cracking open her eye again, she saw her owner's Mommy Peaches standing not far away with someone she didn't know and her eyes opened more fully, watching the adults as she purred against her mistress.

If Mephitisia were a more sentimental person she might have found the sight of Xiven cuddling her little Ace rather cute. As it was she presently found herself more interested in what Peaches had to say rather than watching the two children.
"I've been to the gardens before, when I was younger." That strangely contented smile remained upon her maw but it was sure to fade. The smell of roses was refreshing, though, and brought back pleasant memories. "Hmm...but yes. We can linger here for a short while." Her gaze dropped to Xiven and Fluffy. "Unless you'd rather move along, hm?"
As she watched the two kittens, Mephit slowly arched a brow. "What region is Fluffy from? I don't think I've seen patterns like that before." Such a clean white with delicate purple swirls. Highlands, perhaps? But a purple Highlander didn't seem right.

Xiven sighed. She really didn't stand a chance against Fluffy when she was being cute. "Yes, you're Sleepy." She muttered as she licked the cat's nose before giving up and sitting besides her. Fine, she would stay here until Fluffy decided to roll off her bloody rock. Sometimes Xiven wondered if she spoiled the kitten.
Peaches cracked her neck before looking at the deer. "Lingering is just fine with me. It is such a fantastic day, and honestly, I was planning to enjoy it by giving Xiven one of her lessons out here." Not like Mephit cared. The woman swiftly walked over to one of the beaches and took as seat so she could retie one of her boots. She didn't feel like popping back into her feline form.
"She's a Highlander Torquehelm mix. Mostly Highlander though, which I guess is pretty obvious," Xiven said as she looked up at the Jack.

Delighted at the lick, Fluffy twitched her whiskers and sprawled out even more, stretching her legs and toes before slowly letting them fall back down against the rock in a boneless flop. What a nice day! Her owner was being affectionate, no one was agitated or uneasy, and the sun was making her drowsy enough to ignore everything but the fluff of Xiven's fur and the smooth base of the rock. She let their voices wash over her, ignoring the words in favor of hearing the sounds. It was a trick she'd perfected over the years, when she didn't feel like trying to decipher the speech and just wanted to hear the lilting rise and fall of voices. It was one of the easiest ways to identify a person if she'd ever heard them speak before.
She thought they were beautiful things, voices. Xiven's was the nicest, of course, high and feminine but with a soft little purr when she rolled her r's.
Absently, she let one of her paws stretch again and arched her back to rub against her owner's side.

Mephitisia found a bench for herself that would allow her to sit in the warmth of the sun and take in the smell of the roses. She'd always looked forward to coming back here and she was from from in a hurry to leave.
"If you had a lesson planned, don't let me interrupt. We can always continue the tour once you're done."
She shrugged her shoulders languidly before stretching slightly and tilting her attention onto the two figures settled on the rock. Fluffy was curled up against her, purring happily and blind to everything but her mistress. The little feline was luckier than she'd probably ever know, especially to have such a doting mistress to spoil her rotten.
"An interesting mix," Mephit admitted with a slight incline of her head. "I believe it turned out rather nicely, actually." A Highlander with Torquehelm purple, not bad at all. "You're lucky to have such a pretty little pet."

Xiven couldn't help but giggled a bit at Fluffy. She really couldn't stand up against her cute. It was just overwhelming. "I am very lucky. Mom got her for me when I was really little. I think that was the best thing she ever could have given me."
"I'll be nice for once," Peaches said as she picked up a book and a few papers. "I'll teach Xiven after the tour, but I'll do a bit of paper work right now. So you probably should get comfortable." She crossed her legs to better prop the book up so she could write. Forms. She hated them out of all the paperwork because she actually had to focus to do them. That was the one painful part of being a bitch of the courts, you had to devote real time to the massive stack of papers on your desk so they wouldn't eat you alive.
Xiven almost purred at the news. She could enjoy the company of Fluffy and not have to worry about lessons. She turned to Mephit curiously, "Do you have any pets?"
