Fluffy knew very well what the word 'pretty' meant. It had been used to describe both her and Xiven at different points and she had asked for an explanation of its meaning when she was younger since it seemed to be a word bandied about quite often. It was quite a good word, as she'd come to learn, and 'pretty little pet' was probably referring to her. She blinked her eyes once, sleepily, at the deer who'd said that. It was a gesture of affection for a feline, something the woman might or might not know.
And then her owner giggled and her voice got even prettier and the young Ace was just lost in the sound of it purring along, sweet and high and pleasant to listen to. She was happy, it was patently obvious in her tone. It must be a very good day for both of them. Wonderful! She scooted against Xiven's side until just the hint of her belly was peeking out, curled and stretching her paws in an almost-kneading fashion.

Mephitisia watched Xiven and Fluffy quietly, fascinated by how very attached she appeared to be to the little Ace. The slow blinking affection was lost on the doe, who was not only uninterested in watching for subtle displays of affection but who was also more focused on her mistress than anything else.
She leaned back on the bench she had chosen, decided it was a good idea to get comfortable after all and allowed herself to relax into the smell of roses. Peaches could do her work and she'd talk with the little Queen for a while.
"Pets? No, not really." She shifted again, bringing Xiven into a more comfortable view. "I've thought about getting a Bander sometime, though. The little beasts have always been rather interesting." Her thoughts returned to Sultana and she grinned, the expression wasn't exactly suited to her fanged features, but it was there nonetheless. "I will have to pursue that sometime, actually...now that I've saved up enough for what I want."

Peaches half listened to the conversation as she did her paperwork. She couldn't help but multitask when other people were around. It was just what came naturally to her.
Xiven grinned. A bander? "Those are interesting creatures. I'd have one, I suppose, if I didn't have Fluffy. I can't imagine trying to balance having more than one pet." She shrugged as she let Fluffy move closer to her. The cute was entirely too much for Xiven to refuse. It was one of her weaknesses when Fluffy was involved. Who could resist such an adorable series of actions? The little Queen moved closer to her Ace to pat her on the head carefully. Sometimes her bindings got in the way of very simple actions.
"What exactly do you want? One of the Highlander bred Banders I assume?" She tilted her head as she asked. Sultana was probably the inspiration for all of that.

Fluffy purred loudly at Xiven's show of affection. They were in public so it wouldn't be proper for her to lick the paw that pat her head, which she would have done under other circumstances. Instead, she just settled for rumbling like a small motor in Corvistowne and flexing her paws every few seconds in silent time with the rhythm of her purrs. She was sleepy and warm and comfortable and didn't have to do anything else at the moment. Xiven seemed perfectly happy with letting her be moderately affectionate and stay where she was.
Days like these were her favorites. She didn't have to deal with anyone besides her owner, who 'guarded' her from anyone else around. They could all interact with Xiven and she could be a quiet, pretty little pet and they wouldn't ask anything troubling of her. It was an ideal situation from her point of view.
((Feel free to exclude Fluffy from 'posting order' if the opportunity comes up. I'll post with her when it seems called for, but there's only so much she's going to do right now. <3))

Mephitisia nodded slightly as Xiven spoke. Trying to balance more than one pet, especially an Ace and a Bander, would be hard on anyone, awkward at very least, but with Xiven's youth it would be doubly so. However 'low' most Aces were, they were still more sentient than a Bander and definitely more care.
Mephitisia would stick to her Banders.
"Yes, actually. A Highland bred Bander would be exactly what I was looking for, though I wouldn't mind a well-trained Blue, either." Mephit had always enjoyed a small fondness for that color. "Preferably, though, I'd like to get my hands on a proper Highland bred Blue."
That would take quite a bit of careful negotiation and probably more coin than she was willing to fork over, but at very least she'd give it a try and see what became of it. If all else failed, she'd get the second best thing and find a highly reputable breeder outside of the Highlands and get what she was looking for from them.

A status symbol, of course. Though she imagine a bander would be a bit more to Mephit perhaps? She didn't know the woman well enough to make any judgment calls, but she was being nicer than most adults. "I imagine that's going to cost an arm and leg for you to get."
Xiven shifted her weight to move a bit closer to Fluffy. She was happy about all this it seemed. Warm days were fantastic, and she did really enjoy sunning herself. Xiven should have known where she was, but being a bad owner she sometimes forgot. She needed to get better at that. Turning out like Mom wouldn't be her ideal.
Peaches signed the last bit of paper work she had decided to do, and flipped over to the pages of her planner. This was the only way she actually remembered to do stuff. She scribbled something down before flipping through the pages. Awesome, she had no crazy appointments for anything all of this week. That would give her time to do her favorite hobby.

Mephit laughed lowly. It wasn't an entirely pleasant sound, her laughter rarely was, and was probably more on sarcastic than amused. but at least it wasn't downright mean today.
"You're very right there. An arm and a leg, maybe a bit more. I've been saving up, though, and I've amassed a good portion of it already."
She smiled wryly. A good portion and she still wasn't where she wanted to be. Sure, she could probably afford a bander, but she wasn't going to approach anyone until she could get exactly what she wanted. It was just the way Mephitisia was.
In all actuality, the Bander was more of a childish emulation for Serafino than a symbol of status although it was also just Mephit's general desire to have the best of whatever she pursued.
From the corner of her eye, Mephitisia watched Peaches finishing up with her papers, slightly curious although she did not speak up. Was she almost ready to move on?

Peaches tapped the planner to her mouth for a moment in thought before returning it to its pile. She stretched for a moment, cracking her back before standing up. "Shall we be off?" She asked in rather cheery tone. As much as she wanted to sit out in the warm rays of the sun, there was work to be done.
Xiven was quite reluctant to leave Fluffy where she was. What if something happened to her while she was gone? But she was enjoying the sun so much. Responsibility or comfort was the question. She nudged Fluffy lightly. "Up, you need to get up, sorry Fluffy."
She felt bad for bothering her when she was so very happy, but most of all Xiven didn't want someone to hurt Fluffy. Not everyone tolerated pets running around without their owners. That had always worried the little Queen. She wouldn't know what to do without her Fluffy around.
"I really hope you get the Bander you want," Xiven said cheerfully when she looked over to Mephit.

Fluffy heard the command and mewed sadly, looking up at her owner with dark, mock-reproachful eyes. She would do whatever was asked of her, but she certainly wished she didn't have to. There hadn't been nearly enough time for her to bake properly on the rock. Still, Xiven had said sorry and that was awfully nice of her, so she licked one of the bright purple paws before moving.
With a soft sigh, she stood and stretched in a high arch, toes splaying on the warm gray surface as she yawned. This was a wonderful spot. She would have to come back out here later when she was allowed to. Or maybe just when Xiven was busy in lessons and she was terribly bored.
She would follow wherever they went, next to and behind her owner as was proper. Especially around company that she didn't know like this dark deer woman, she knew she had to be on her absolute best behavior so she didn't do anything that might reflect poorly on her owner or Xiven's Mommy Peaches. She'd heard that scolding lecture more than once when she got ahead of herself.
