Mephitisia was thankful to see Peaches rising at last, as she was beginning to grow drowsy in the warm sun, and rose up to her hooves. She stretched her lean form, working the kinks out before shifting her attention upon Xiven and Fluffy. Neither seemed to want to move but Fluffy was definitely the most reluctant of the small group. The serpentine doe arched a brow, shaking her head a little, and turned her attention to Peaches while Xiven apologetically urged the feline up.
She strolled closer to the older Torque but tilted her gaze back onto the two kittens once Xiven spoke up. "Thank you, Xiven. I hope so as well."
Her gaze back on Peaches now, Mephit tilted head head and motioned for her to take the lead. "Where to next, hm? Did you say the kitchens or is there somewhere else you wanted to show me?" Mephit figured they could part ways once she got to know where the kitchen was, but if there was somewhere more interesting to go then she wasn't about to object either.

Xiven's ears pulled back at the reproachful look. Thankfully Fluffy stopped or Xiven would have given in. Oh well. The feline shrugged as she hopped off of the perch and let Fluffy follow her.
Peaches shrugged as she cracked each of her fingers under her jacket's sleeves. "Knowing some of the kitchen staff is a good idea if you ever want something crazy and they won't let you cook. Assuming you can cook. Whatever. Kitchens are probably the best place to show you because everyone needs to eat." She shifted the things in her arms before she started to walk through the door. "I can't think of anything else to show you. Heilyn's quarter's are the last stop like you requested. I don't know if she's in her office right now, I haven't exactly memorized her time schedules or anything." She shrugged.

Mephitisia had such a bad habit of remembering to eat at all, especially when working on one of her experiments, that she didn't doubt Peaches's words. After all, it might be good to make 'friends' with someone who would remember to bring her something from time to time. Xylia had been useful like that.
"I'm no good at cooking," she couldn't even remember having ever really even tried, "but that's a valid logic nonetheless." Paying little attention to Xiven and Fluffy as she walked, Mephit followed Peaches into the building.
"That's fine by me. I'm not in a rush to meet with her." Which was rather obvious as she'd happily taken to wandering around the Palace with Peaches instead of pursuing her attention right away. In fact... "You could probably do to part with me once we reach the kitchen. I'd really only need you to point me in the right direction to locate her room."

Xiven quietly followed. Well, she would see Mephit again sometime. She was going to live in the palace after all. Her tails swished at the thought. Maybe when she was older they could talk about what Mephit researched?
Peaches nodded as she walked down the path to the kitchen. Twists and turns and stairs and such. Really it wasn't that long of a walk if you were used to it. She hummed to herself, not much conversation left between the pair anyway. Peaches was actually starting to get hungry so she would probably snag something from the kitchens for herself.
When they came go the door she motioned happily, "This is the kitchen. We have fantastic staff that's good at their job, and they're willing to make almost anything for you. So if you have any weird eating quirks I'm sure they're willing to put up with it. I'm going to slip in to get myself something, feel free to follow. Oh yes!" Peaches nodded and the further explained the directions of where Heilyn's house and quarters were.
Then it was time for her to get a tuna fish sandwich. Mmm. Fish.

Mephit was contentedly quiet as they walked. She was not one of those people that felt the constant need to fill silence with speech, especially not idle or brainless prattle. Ugh.
She did, however, catch Xiven's thoughts about her studies and quietly tucked the thought away for later. Perhaps she would invite the young Queen into the dungeon to see her work... or perhaps just another meeting in the garden would suffice. Xiven was an intriguing girl already.
They arrived at the kitchens then, and Mephit nodded as she listened to Peaches. "Thank you for the directions and the small tour, Peaches, but I should be going now." She bowed her head a little and offered a proper grin for a moment. "Enjoy your lunch and," her gaze swung down onto Xiven before she continued, "I look forward to sharing your company again sometime."
She turned then, offering them both a casual wave, and moved off in the direction she had been pointed to in order to, hopefully, locate Heilyn.
