"That's the thing, they wouldn't be turning over as much power as people think. They'd be turning over the work that keeps them from doing more important work. The Queens don't have to create a budget, they get people that are more intelligent or qualified to do it, and that do just that, and have them create the budget. Then the Queen reviews it, and approves it or denies it, maybe suggesting changes. Did Queen Theofilus rise to the top of your Court so that he could sign papers, or did he have something that was more important to him?" He was speaking more and more quickly and with more animation the more he spoke of the topic, such was it exciting to him.
"Imagine what the four Queens working together on less mundane things could accomplish. It's scary and amazing at the same time!" That might have been a little thick for him, but it was true, nonetheless. He was hoping that four Queens could eradicate a region, actually. That was pretty impressive.

For reaching 101 posts, you each get the special June prize <3
Black leather gloves: Though they're missing the fingers, these cracked leather gloves look quite stylish and will fit the wearer to a tee....they're massively comfortable and feel like velvet on the inside, weighing almost nothing and giving the wearer a cool, open sensation. Putting these gloves on will result in them slowly (over the course of a day) attaching themselves to the skin of their owner and becoming a permanent adornment, peeling them off would result in the wearer skinning their own arms. Wearing these gloves gives the owner and incredible new ability. They are now able to control the limb (only one of them) of an opponent for a full minute once per week. They will be able to make it do anything short of kill the other person...this includes slight maiming though it will probably avoid the eyes. <3

Kelasia tilted her head curiously as she listened, moved by his enthusiasm, but uncertain she was actually seeing the big picture. She finally asked rather hesitantly, "Wot do you see them doing after this. . ." She couldn't think of a word to describe what he was describing to her, so she just let her question trail off into a sort of leading nothingness. Hopefully he would fill in the rest for her.
What was probably most interesting to the woman, actually, was just how excited Elias truly was by his idea. She couldn't think of anything she'd ever been quite that excited about and she wished she could share it with him. What would it feel like to be that excited by an idea?
There was, of course, her children, but they were offstandish with her, especially Tosiek. She felt caught in a pool of solitude.

"Well, they could do more of what they want, that's for sure. Instead of constantly being bound by this little stuff that they could be trusting someone else to do, they could enjoy the benefits that they probably hoped to get when they rose in power.
"But more than just enjoying themselves, they could help bring stability. Imagine, and this is just an example, but imagine having police units assigned with multiple suits in each unit. The criminal couldn't run, because they'd have a Runner, the Diamond could fly after them, get a higher Club and he can contact base. Investigative units, the Diamond can tell if they're lying, I KNOW there are different Cards that can pull memories from people's minds, with inter-Court cooperation we can get those people to help us when we need it.
"That's just the tip of the iceberg. Diamond artists can get Clubs as patrons if there aren't other Diamonds to fill that role, or any other suit, if we just decide to cooperate. Then it wouldn't be a matter of different suits, we would all work together, hopefully to the betterment of the world! Just you, as a King, I'm sure that you have some abilities that you could use to help this in someway. I don't know what you can do, but whatever it is, the two of us could do so much more than one." He blushed slightly. "Er, you know, for example."

Kelasia listened to his enthusiasm with continued interest; how had he come up with all of this?
She blushed in response, though hers was mostly based off of something else entirely. It did not occur to her that he might consider her attractive as she did not find herself that way. She was a King of Diamonds, but this was tempered by the fact that she was, indeed, herself. She didn't feel particularly useful; she might have some interesting abilities, but she used them to hide from the world, not better it.
Elias' enthusiasm still continued to spark her own interest, though perhaps not imagination. She could not conceive of such things as he.
"It sounds wonderful," she admitted softly, eyes slipping his way for a moment. She didn't see anything further into his statement besides what he was inferring he meant. "How could I help you?"

Elias wasn't quite sure what Kelasia meant by her question, so he went for the talkative broad-spectrum approach. "How could you help make this happen, or how could we work together as a team? For the latter, I guess I'd need to know more about your abilities. I know you can turn invisible, and with my ability to blend in, that's undercover surveillance right there. I don't know how many exceptions there are, but I'm betting that you can fly and cast lie-detector spells. Flying is flying, always helpful and I wish I could do it. With a lie-detector, if we were questioning a prisoner or enemy, you could tell if they're lying, maybe saving them a lot of pain in case I had to pull the memory from them. That's pretty painful for whoever I do that to. And, don't forget, I can talk to both of our suits telepathically, sort of. There would have to be another person around to relay the message, but that's details that I'll tell you later if you're interested. With your ability to turn on the charm, we'd make a pretty effective "good cop bad cop" team, you know? What other abilities have I missed?"

Kel couldn't help another slightly blank expression that was really just a symptom of her slightly dazed mental state as he launched swiftly into another explanation and description that she really wasn't entirely certain she was following properly.
She sort of stuttered out her answer to his question, "Oh, uhm, I, uhm, c-can decipher two other languages, I guess? But I h-haven't done that yet. And, uhm. . . I. . . can run up a wall for a few seconds." In her eyes, only the language one was of any use. "I guess I go silent when I do?" She'd found that to be a weird side effect of the ability but she still saw little use for that ability in regards to herself. If you're always in the library or doing paperwork, what good is running up a wall in silence? Still, the man had asked and those were what she could do.

“Right, languages, I forgot about that. Well, that’s useful right there. And you can run right up walls? Really? Silently? Now, I understand if you haven’t done a lot of second story work, but you could! If you had to sneak into a house to. . .anything, really. You could save your flying ability for an emergency, and run up the side of a house without anyone knowing, especially if you’re invisible. Once inside, you could scout around, maybe rescue someone, or retrieve stolen property from a criminal. And, for example, with the languages, if you can disguise yourself, you can imitate someone from another region, throw on the disguise, so when they’re looking for a skunk from the Range, you’re making them think you’re from somewhere else, and you speak the slang to boot! Of course, now that I know that, I’d have to be looking for it. . .” He trailed off. Later he would wonder if Kel even knew everything Elias did in the Court of Hearts.

Kel didn't know what Elias did in his Court, but she was getting the distinct feeling that he had no clue what she did at hers. "Oh, uhm. . . why would I--" This was just one attempt, soft spoken and quiet to interject into his words, but he answered the question of why she would want to get up to the second story of someone's house before she even had a time to ask, so she just let her words trail off as her head tilted to listen.
Yet again she was strongly struck by how excited he was about what he spoke of. She greatly enjoyed it a lot, though, and found her features softening again as she listened to him speak. She finally ventured to offer, "I'll only be able to magically learn two languages." It seemed he should know that potentially important detail, though she was a bit confused about what he was going to be looking for now.
