For the bat, the ongoing silence was torture. Had he said too much? It honestly was beginning to feel as though he might have, and the squirrel's silence only helped his thoughts on the matter. He blinked at her enigmatic words, preparing to ask for further elaboration, when she did so all on her own. His ears twitched as he allowed her meaning to sink in, carefully turning the thought over in his mind.
She had a very good point, now that he thought about it.
"You're right. I'm just... Not entirely sure how to go about it.[/b]" he replied thoughtfully. "I feel like I should wait to talk to her until after our trip to the Bog, however. Spending some one-on-one time with her would probably help me to get a better feeling as to how she feels. And if it seems like I should pursue something... Well. I'd like to have some kind of a gift prepared.[/b]" he gave her his most charming grin.
"Would you like to accompany me on an excursion to find an appropriate item, perhaps?[/b]" he asked, looking surprisingly honest. She'd had good advice so far, and he just wasn't willing to give up that good advice yet. Maybe he would take her out to dinner later as a show of appreciation.

Ah, now he was figuring it out! Her encouraging smile was beginning to hurt her face as she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, that sounds like a plan! That way if it seems things aren't how you thought it was, it would give you a chance to.. not bear your soul." Even she wouldn't want to be put in that situation, but she knew the importance of getting things out in the open. She couldn't help but giggle at his batty grin. No wonder this coyote girl couldn't keep her hands off him. Haha!
"I'd love to help ya out, friend! I'd suggest something less perishable than flowers though if you be waiting so long to give her something.. maybe something small so you can keep it hidden till the time comes?" She still had no idea what this girl would like as a gift. If she was anything like this bat, she was probably rather eccentric.. "Do you have -any- idea the sort of things she likes? Jewelry? Clothing? Trinkets?" At this point she was at a loss. If allowed to meet a person she can get a lot of insight about their personality, but she was working blind with a bat that was about and narrow sighted as she was in respects of knowing what this woman wants. Heck, he probably forces himself not to take notice of these things.

Seth gave a short and somewhat harsh laugh. He liked this Zuberi, he had decided. Her laid-back nature made him feel slightly more at-ease with every moment that went by, and he needed that little bit of relaxation. He took a step away from the stand that he had been leaning on, shaking himself out slightly and flaring his wings, ignoring the way that it caused him to fill almost the entire walkway. He gave the squirrel a head-tilt and a small nod that said 'follow me'.
As he walked through the stands of vendors, he continued to listen to her. "You're definitely right on the flowers-thing.[/b]" he mused, looking over one table, laden with overly sparking jewels. He cringed slightly, ears twitching backwards. Those gaudy things would never do. "Well.. She never told me directly, but I've always had the impression that she liked dragonflies. She puts a lot about herself out in the open in her room.[/b]" he grinned at the squirrel, quirking an eyebrow in a silly way.
He was a little pervert, that much was true, but he could be charming when he really tried.

For a moment the squirrel's face stayed blank, not quite registering. A split second later though the laughter would come, along with quite a few winks and grins. "Oh. Oh! Yes, you are a dirty boy indeed!" She snickered out, causing a few people down the street to turn and look at her oddly.
"Hoo.. ah yes, but about these dragonflies.." She paused, thinking long and hard. "Ah, I remember a little shop with glassworks of dragonflies. Does she buy her things from there?" She queried innocently. Obviously oblivious, Zuberi was, to who actually was in charge of that section of that particular store.
Still oblivious, she was tapping her chin and looking around, as if trying to remember where it was. "Hm.. I don't know where it is at.. I've not completely learned my way around, you see... maybe it was..." Flicking her tail, she looked around, spinning about in place.

Under all of his thick fur, Seth was blushing. Since when was he such a shameless flirt, and more importantly, an outright pervert?! A part of him felt as though, cute as she was, he had no business flirting with the squirrel. The other part of him, overwhelming and loud majority as it was, pushed those thoughts aside. He was having a good time, and Zuberi seemed to be enjoying it. His grin only widended at her open snickering.
He wasn't quite sure what, but something about the way that she spoke brought to mind a sight that, the first time he had glimpsed it, had turned his stomach slightly. A pink shop. A horrible pink shop that looked like it had walked out of a book written for little girls. Heilyn's shimmering glass works standing out as actually nice pieces among the trashy and frilly decor. And, above it all, a screechy, obnoxious, yet somehow endearing Highland parakeet.
"Miss Amythyst's Tea Treasures?[/b]" he provided, eyebrows raising slightly as he did. Did this little squirrel know the shop? That would make things much more interesting, indeed.

The squirrel pouted her lip thoughtfully and tapped the side of her face, thinking long and hard. "Yeeah.. that's what it was called! Granted, I've never actually went in. I just saw from the window. I'm.. more of a clay or stone person myself when it comes to plates and the sort, so I didn't see much need to browse."
Why did he have such a funny look on his face? Quirking a brow, she regarded him carefully. "Is that odd? You know of the place obviously.. " But then again, if he knew of the place, wouldn't that mean he would have known what sort of wares that was in the place, yes? Something told her that there was an interesting story behind all this.
Rolling her shoulders and leaning back against the wall, she crossed her arms in front of her and traced her card number idly with a finger. "So, dare I ask what the story is behind this.. Tea Treasure place?"

This was almost too much for Seth to handle, and he was completely torn between laughing and crying. He covered his face with his wings for a moment, then pulled them away, red eyes shining slightly with amusement. He couldn't blame her for not wanting to go into the shop, if Heilyn hadn't been running to it at such a high speed he would have been bolting from it in the opposite direction. The shade of pink was too much for the bat's sensitive eyes.
"I know it all too well. Trust me, you didn't miss a whole lot by not going in.[/b]" he chuckled, still trying to let the amusement override the small notes of panic that he could feel. "Just a slightly crazed Highlander and... Heilyn.[/b]" he cleared his throat slightly, an eyebrow raised. "You know. My coyote. The glasswork is made in her home region, and she's the one who's been importing it.[/b]"
Sometimes, the world was alarmingly small.

Amusement! Irony! All these things lit up Zuberi's face and she didn't know exactly what to say except slap her knee and give out an amused "Hah!" For a moment there she had been looking at the bat with something growing close to annoyance. Why was he laughing? What was so damn funny! Now though, everything made sense, and really there wasn't much more to do but laugh, little relations of a new twist to the irony of the situation causing her to giggle again with an expression of 'Oh, and -that- explains...'
Still though, she'd have to sober up, wiping a tear from her eye and giggling a bit. "Well, I suppose that rules out shopping from there!" She nearly burst into a fit again, but forced it down. Then, she gave a shrug, a bit helpless. "Well, that was my idea! Is there anythin' else we can get her, or maybe get her something in dragonfly theme, but in a different medium? Since she does glasswork, maybe she's prefer something painted, or made of clay or wood.." Even as she spoke, the wheels were churning.
You know, I'm fairly good with the craft of creating things meself. I could easily make your little woman friend a cute dragonfly trinket out of the treasures from the beach.. Yes, some driftwood for the body, painted beads for the eyes.. an' I know of some gorgeous shells that would make beautiful wings.."
Even as she schemed, she was taking something out of her net bag, pouring a green herb into a cigarette paper and rolling it with deft claws. Then, as if remembering that this wasn't always considered okay in other countries, she gestured to the smoke. "Ya don't mind, do you?"

As the bat's giggles began to subside, he felt himself relaxing once more. He wasn't exactly sure why he was so nervous at first, but he was well aware now that his worries were completely without basis. He settled back, letting out a small sigh of relief. This search was getting more and more strange by the moment, but he appreciated the squirrel more and more.
"That sounds... complicated.[/b]" he coughed slightly, blinking. He was never good at tactile arts, and he had a reasonable amount of respect for anyone who could. "Dextrous hands, eh? Gotta love it. But that does sound like a good idea, and I think she would like it.[/b]" at this point, he just wanted to see if he could make the squirrel blush. He was curious as to how it would show on those green cheeks.
When she pulled out the bag, he blinked. The smell reached his nose, and he instinctively took a deep breath. "Wow,[/b]" he commented. "You got the good stuff. Mind if I take a hit and see if it's as good as it smells?[/b]"
