Seth could have hit himself at her answer. An hour and a half?! Damn, that had to mean that she had arrived not only on time, but early to their planned meeting. His nerves were settled only by her open smile and good-natured attitude in regards to the whole situation, and he almost let out a small breath of relief. As cute as she was, the man was more than positive that he didn't want to catch even the slightest hint of her anger.
He grinned at her curiosity, eyebrows perking slighly and hiding the bag inside of webbed wings. "Your payment, curious girl.[/b]" he laughed, red eyes glinting slightly. He couldn't help himself. He loved to tease.
The bat took the box with no small amount of curiosity, peering down at it and gently running a claw across its surface and then opening it. It was a beautiful and delicate creation, and Seth's eyes widened slightly as he looked it over, expression one of quiet appreciation. "It's... perfect, Zuberi.[/b]" he said quietly, closing the box once more and tucking it carefully into his bag. He waited a secomd, giving her time for her anxiety over what else was in the bag to build, then slowly pulled out a slightly smaller sack, bulging with several round objects. "And for you,[/b]" he said cheerfully as he handed the bag over. Inside was the agreed upon payment and three ruby-red pomegranates.

Zuberi chattered her teeth with mock-frustration at his teasings, but soon became all smiles when he finally got a look at what was in the box. His face said it before his mouth did.. but his appreciation was different from what she was used to. There was such.. honesty to his expression, a kinder smile that said more than the most boisterous of praises. With her chest puffed out proudly, she looked very much as if she were about to burst. "Thank you!" She churred, smoothing out her fur self-consciously.
Her modest demeanor was quickly tossed aside though, when her payment was handed to her. Immediately, her curiosity was too much to bear. She'd already guessed that a sort of fruit was in the bag; the distinct round lumps would give that away immediately. When she saw just what sort of fruit they were, she truly was shocked.
"Oh, Oh! How did you know? Thank you!" Despite herself, she quickly closed the distance between them and grabbed the bat up into a hug, giving him a heartfelt squeeze. "Oh I love it! They're my favorite!"

The way that Zuberi reacted to the praise brought a wide and toothy grin to the bat's face. She really was completely adorable, and once the dragonfly was safe in his bag, he turned to face her once more, only to be completely caught off guard by a quite enthusiastic hug. He made a small noise, one that could only be described as an "Oof![/b]", then laughed and folded large and fuzzy wings around the woman, hefting her into the air and then spinning once with her held securely against himself.
He couldn't help it. Her energy was strangely contagious, and he almost reluctantly set her down again.
"Zuberi, I hope I make it back from the Bog alive.[/b]" he finally said, giving her a fond grin. "'cause it would be a shame to not see you again. I'm glad you're happy with the pomegranites. I guess I got lucky with picking them for you, huh?[/b]"

Bystanders stopped to look curiously at the pair as her enthusiastic squeals rang through the air as she was spun, but she was far too delighted with the situation to notice or care. She too, was slightly begrudged that the contact would end as he placed the squirrel carefully back onto the ground. Seth was such a pleasure to be around.. and once you got under his quirky exterior he was such.. a genuine creature. Zuberi could hardly see him as the bodyguard and ruthless protector that he was sure he'd be in a professional situation. Her expression.. fell a bit when he mentioned the bog. He was probably joking, but strangely Zuberi worried. After all, the Bog was filled with some seriously bad juju. At the mention of pomegranites, she resumed her smile and gave his wing a gentle nudge, winking good-naturedly. "I hardly think it a coincidence, m'friend, that you'd be the sort to tell what kind of fruit a girl loves just by lookin' at her." That.. really had no implication, and was pretty much just a lame joke, but she giggled at herself all the same.
Then, the Midori's face turned a bit somber once again. "But you -will- be careful, yes?"

The sudden sad look that appeared on Zuberi's face caused the bat to frown a little as well, and in reply he hugged her again. He hadn't expected to make a friend quite like her now, or ever really. He was attracted to her, sure, but beyond that there was almost an admiration of the lively woman. She was just so full of life, and he realized that he envied that. In all his life, the people he'd met tended towards jaded. It didn't make them bad people, just made the lovely green and pink squirrel stand out even more in his mind.
He sighed softly, squeezing her lightly in his wings, then shook his head. "Of course.[/b]" he replied, but there was almost a shadow in his voice as he spoke. He was afraid of the Bog. He was afraid that he wouldn't be returning. He leaned forward, kissing the woman's forehead softly before untangling himself, ruining the moment with a toothy grin.
"Alrighty then. I guess I'll be seeing you in a few months,[/b]" he said, giving her a small nod before setting off down the road.
He just hoped he could keep true to that promise.
