Rai had barely had time to sit down at a little out of the way table, when he was joined by a woman. Not just any woman, but a very familiar woman. His ears flicked back in surprise then back forward in greeting at the woman.
"Well, well," he said easily. "Look who's getting a jump on me beer-wise. Thought starting early was the only way to drink me under the table, Lore? If you'll recall, and I sincerely doubt you will since I remember just how drunk you were, you definitely folded first."
He would have offered the woman a chair, but she'd already sat down. Her impetuousness still amused him greatly. "And yes, we have met before and it does start with a 'W'." She had an exceedingly sharp bite, too, both figuratively and literally and he waited to see just where the sparring would lead to tonight.

"I've gotten better," Loreta said with a shake of her head. He wasn't going to give her his name was he? Freaking bastards playing coy with her. She was just horrible when it came to names. Unless they were something that just stuck. What was it?
"Whip. Your name is Whip," Lore said with a triumphant head tilt as she took a sip of her beer. His tail had been the reminder of his name. "Just because we met before doesn't mean we can't meet again. I'm thinking if you aren't telling me to go straight to the deepest bit of the Lowlands than we obviously had a decent time."
Hell if she could remember it completely. She did a lot of nasty stuff when she got plastered. A lot. The heron was used to picking up the pieces however. Thankfully. A smirk her face as she slipped another sip of her beer. "Wanna see if I can actually beat you this time?"

The stallion threw back his head and laughed at her quips and jabs; she really was an amusing woman. "Well, we certainly had a time," he said easily. It still amused him that he had allowed her to spend the night in his suite, especially with him. "Though you took off awfully fast the next morning."
His tail tapped idly against his hocks and he waved at the waitress to bring them some alcohol. Or perhaps, he thought in amusement, bring them some more alcohol, since Lore had already began without him.
"I'm game as long as I don't have to carry you out of here again," the man said with another low laugh. "As much fun as it was the last time..." He sent her a rather flirtatious, sidelong glance. He was super amused; this evening was likely to be as fun as the last time. On second thought, he called out for some water and bread as well.

"HA!" Loreta laughed before chugging the rest of her beer to make ready for a new one. "And I was hoping of some epic man to carry me off in my drunken stupor and sex me until the sun came up. I guess that's out of the game, eh?"
She was rather throughly amused by the situation. The buzz was slightly there. It would take her a lot more time to get drunk this round. This probably meant her liver wanted her dead, and the rest of her body was going to hate her more than usual in the morning.
Well screw her body. What good thing did it ever do to her? She snorted at the very thought as she shifted in her place to take another sip of beer. "But I bet you'll entertain me again if you feel so inclined. But that all depends on how much of a night you give me int he bar first."

The stallion gave a low, amused laugh. Her causticness certainly had not faded, that was certain! "A drunken stupor, indeed. You fell into one very quickly; I'm not certain it will take too long to get you there again." Still, she had already begun to drink, so perhaps she'd built up something of a resistance to alcohol during the time they'd been absent from each other.
"As long as you continue talk so sweetly, I don't see how you could fail to draw this epic man to fall at your side so he might be able carry you off with such ease."
The stallion tossed his tail from one side to the next with an almost idle motion. The waitress came to drop off a couple of beers for the table; it was well known that the stallion was a big drinker. He gave a small nod of thanks to the woman and took a deep swig.

"You stab me in the heart sir," Loreta said with a wave of her wings. She looked at her beer meaningfully. If she wanted to get drunk fast it was hard liquor that she needed.
The real question was how badly did she want sex? Maybe not tonight? Maybe? She never decided this far ahead of time. It usually just ended up happening,
A little more beer and she would make the decision. She took another swing of her piss and water beer before turning to the horse. "So we've done this whole thing before, and I can't remember most of it. I know I didn't want the details before. I still don't. And if anything happens again tonight along the same route as before. Same thing should happen, same bloody conditions."
She nodded before downing the rest of her watered down beer. Why did she drink such nasty stuff.

Rai gave a low chuckle deep in his chest. Yes, Lore was quite the character. That might be why the stallion let her join his little solitary party and even gave up some of his beer for her.
Now that there was a bit more prestige in his life, and, in direct correlation, a bit more money, he'd upgraded his beer, something she'd discover as soon as she finished or dumped her current one and nabbed one of his; something he was certain would occur even if he didn't consciously think about it.
Actually, the thought came on the heels of his initial one. In many ways, Lore was like Mnem. Only... less in control. He gave a snort of surprise in disconcert. He did NOT need more women like Mnem in his life. Definitely did not. Though, at least Lore made him laugh. That was one big step over the Yarrow Gardens woman.
"Well," he bantered back easily. "We'll just have to see where the evening takes us." Perhaps to bed, perhaps not. It likely depended on the alcohol.

Loreta snorted as she carefully nabbed a new beer. "If there's vodka involved I can tell you where this evening is going." Hard liquor was her weakness. Always was and always would be. She never really had been good with alcohol, the whole self control thing did that.
She took a sip of the beer she had placed in front of her, and to her great surprise it tasted good. Well now, this might be a better evening than she had originally thought. What had gotten him to buy better alcohol? Did he get a promotion or something?
"Celebrating something or did you just get a raise?" She said as she tapped on the beer glass with feathery wings. Having fingers would honestly solve the problem, but she needed another leg before she managed to gain her biped form properly. Stupid lack of leg hindering her entire life.

Shinrai took another sip of his beer, a small smile playing at the edges of his lips for a moment. "Well, you missed the actual celebration, but... you could say I got a raise." No smugness in his tone, simply real pleasure. A raise in rank, in pay, in responsibilities, and in stress. Whee! He pushed the thought away, refusing to look at it too closely just now. He didn't want to concentrate on politics or the like; he simply wanted to enjoy his evening.
"And wot brings you out this evening, Lore?" he asked easily, as though that were the natural course of the conversation. Perhaps it was. He was thinking much too hard about things these days; analyzing anything and everything that came his way. He knew wot Elias would say; El would say he was getting even more paranoid, and then the Josiggy Marshdweller would applaud him for it.
