Loreta snorted. "I'm out because I'm out. I'm here for all that stupid angst you're supposed to feel when you go out drinking for the sake of drinking. But obviously if I'm still drinking the angst is unimportant and I just feel like getting drunk. Blah blah blah."
It happened once a week actually. Every Friday evening when she didn't have work the next day she went out to get plastered on cheap beer and a few shots of vodka. She normally held off on the vodka though, since... she tended to sleep with too many odd people. That wasn't as bad as the whiskey incident a few weeks back. When drunk Loreta acted on her impulses and... they were always bad ideas. One day she was going to wake up pregnant.
That's just how things worked, and she didn't rightly care. "Plus it makes the headaches go away until the hangover takes a stab at makin' my life miserable."

Shinrai shook his head slightly, rolling his eyes at the folly of the woman. Obviously she'd been too plastered to recall his little tips. Since then he'd heard a few others that someone had -sworn- would work. But Rai didn't trust any of the dessert foods here. So the stallion caught the eye of the bartender and in a few moments a waitress was trotting over bearing bread and water; as usual. The stallion thanked the woman lightly and touched a brief salute to the bartender who nodded his head in return and turned back to his other customers.
He really needed to stop coming out to drink so much; he was becoming entirely too predictable for everyone. That thought, actually, -could- change his reactions and he made a mental note to vary his routine some.
"Eat and drink some water," he ordered her in a friendly, amused manner. "Hopefully that'll help offset the hangover enough that once you lose your headache, you'll simply be pain free for awhile."

"Well I tried that. I ate bread and drank water... but then my binding gave me a migraine, and it was just a vicious cycle of pain and misery... I should probably find someone with a magic spell to fix it or something. Huh." She was never going to remember that. It was a pity too because it was a rather fantastic plan.
However she was a little too sloshed to care. Even if she was still sober to some degree what little bit of her that cared was out the window. She sipped the beer a bit more. Not as strong as vodka or anything like that, but it was good enough. She could actually carry a conversation for a little while.
"Are you in courts?" She asked suddenly as she eyed the stallion. The thought hadn't occurred to her until she saw the letter on his chest. Then again, why would someone in courts sleep with her?

It really was an excellent idea and Rai had no idea why she hadn't tried it before; he couldn't imagine it not occurring to her at one point or another, especially whilst growing up. Most teenagers would do anything to avoid and get rid of pain; he did, at least, though Elias had never allowed him much of a break from it. Training and being poisoned did that to a man, he guessed.
Having never had any sort of binding, Rai found it odd that her body hadn't even begun to adjust to the constant pressure. He would have assumed that she would at least be able to deal with it to some degree. Once again, Rai was desperately glad that he was not from Torquehelm.
His ears flipped backwards in amusement at her abrupt question. "Yes," he replied easily. "Are you?" Though he expected a negative response to that one.

Loreta snorted, almost spitting out the bit of drink she had in her mouth. What a question to ask. She couldn't help to fall into a short bit of laughter trying to control herself she managed to look at Shinrai with watery eyes.
"Oh hell no. I did deliver a message though, it was pretty grand. Then I told the noble to fuck himself before flying off. Would you believe he made fun of me because I was poor? Who does that! Not even all the nobles come from money! Quite a few of them have to work hard for it!" She downed the rest of her beer in one long sweeping motion.
Setting the cup down as carefully as she could, she grabbed another glass. If Shinrai protested, well he could do what he wanted. The heron really never cared what people thought of her. "Psh. At least you're a respectable noble. Not like that one I had the pleasure of meeting."

Rai gave a low laugh and a shrug, not certain who she meant and not caring enough to press. She was a woman he met in a bar; an amusing, quick-witted woman, but just a woman in the bar and he was not going to get himself involved with trying to help her through her problems.
A small mouse scurried in, a 4 of Hearts marking her chest. She looked around uneasily before finally spotting the man and she rushed to his side in relief.
"Your-- Sir," she quickly edited her greeting when he sent her a sharp look. Anyone who sent for him here knew he was avoiding the ranks and strappings of the Court. "Sir, please." She handed him a letter. The stallion swiftly opened it and scanned the contents. A very slight hardening of his face told that it was not good news and he rose.
"Excuse my swift departure, Lore," he said courteously, dropping a stack of coins on the table. "But I'm sure that these will ease the pain of my departure as you can still get very plastered without me." He gave her a wink with a hint of his previous mischievousness, then strode from the bar with the little mouse in tow.
(( It bothered me that there wasn't an -ending- ending. xD; ))
