Wow... when the biped girl got embarrassed, her face really lit up beneath her fur. Poe's blushing never showed and Imre rarely blushed, so Parzifal was left being the only one who occasionally got red in the face. Even then, that was only if something had gotten him super-mad or ashamed or embarrassed, since it had to creep up to the top half of his face to show any color. Was she really that uncomfortable about people? He could understand - his brother was usually the same way, only very different about it. It was strange how much she kept reminding him of both his siblings in her mannerisms. Then again, he didn't have many people to compare her against, so he supposed it was normal.
"That's fine, don't worry about it," he said with a smile and a bird-like bob and dip of his head. "Your mom seems to come over here every so often, so maybe next time you come over with her you'll remember them, or a different one."
His wing wrapped a little more around his sister in a small hug before he let her go to turn off the stove. It was about time, or so master had told him. The small clock ticking away on a shelf said so. "And so stage two begins," he said in amusement at the substance.

Poe would not have been surprised if she had known Sage was curious about her bindings, most were. It was cruel and unusual but they were a part of her nonetheless. A part of her that she could have quickly done away with if only it wouldn't have meant her life.
Poe ducked her head down a little further as Sage admitted to having lost her lyrics. Without the girl saying it, Poe understood clearly. All the blushing and the very quietness of her was honestly familiar, most likely stage fright. Poe swallowed heavily and then looked up.
"Perhaps... I could sing a little for you?" Her brothers would know just how much Poe loved the arts, music and poetry especially, but also just how rare of an occasion it was for Poe to sing for a stranger. Sage, however, was nice and quiet and if she were so kindly willing to sing despite being shy then Poe could do the same, right? "I could sing a verse or two, a-and then you could sing them?"
Imre looked up from what he was doing, surprised by his sister although his mask hid that. He said nothing, though, and dipped his head to hide his brief smile. Perhaps the pretty Tugley biped would finally help Poe? His poor sister was so caged that she had forgotten how to truly sing. It was quite sad.
He turned quietly to Parzifal, head tilted. "What is Master making now?" His voice was soft, so as not to disrupt the girls' conversation, but also not so quiet as to be considered a whisper.

Parzifal was thrilled at his sister's forwardness. For her, it was quite a thing to offer something like that to a stranger. He wasn't going to say anything in front of company, since that would probably only embarrass her, but he would hug her later, especially if Sage was interested and she actually went through with it. He hadn't heard her sing in such a long time, and even then, the songs were always barely audible and quite sad. They had been ever since... well. Yes.
He turned to look at his brother, head also tilted so he could watch the two girls at the same time. "I think this is just one part in a larger project," he replied just as quietly. If his sister was thinking about singing, he wasn't going to do anything to deter that. "I think this one has something to do with the banders. See how thick it's gotten? He mentioned that this stuff is what's going to sit in the fur and carry whatever else he's putting in it. I have no idea what the other stuff is, but this'll make it set and stay there."

Sage didn't blush or hesitate with her reply. "Yes, I would. That would be a lot easier than trying to remember an entire song." She said with a smile at the other girl. She was nice, though Sage could never imagine why she had bindings like that. They looked so terribly painful and dangerous. What was the point of binding anyway? No, she wasn't going to ask. That would be stepping over the boundaries of hospitality.
She laced her fingers together as she waited for Poe's reply. The bird was probably just as shy as her, so she could understand nerves. The wolf-squirrel's tail twitched briefly as she thought about why the three birds were in the tower. She didn't know why they were there or how they got there. She shrugged it off. How could she ask them so many questions that were so personal? No, she would just sing for them as best she could.

Poe smiled a little.
She liked Sage, from what she'd seen of her, and she enjoyed the thought of sharing songs with her. Perhaps it was that she could see the same nervousness teeming within Sage as was blossoming within her that made her feel so...familiar. Whatever it was, it had that rare smile upon her little beak.
"Alright..." The little bird took a deep breath and she sighed softly. Poe didn't allow herself to think long on which song she'd sing, just let whichever came to her beak first flow. If she didn't put too much thought into it, then she couldn't stress nearly as much.
"Sunday is gloomy, My hours are slumberless... Dearest, the shadows I live with are numberless... Little white flowers will never awaken you, Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you... Angels have no thought of ever returning you. Would they be angry if I thought of joining you? Gloomy Sunday..."
Her voice trailed off softly, the faintest hint of a tremble heard only in that ending note. Oh dear, that was truly the most she'd sung for a stranger and it left her head pathetically dizzy. Slowly her eyes opened once more, the finch hopeful that Sage's opinion of her music would be a good one.
"H-how was that?"
Imre was about to reply to his brother's explanation when he was halted by his sister's voice filling the room. It was soft and sad, but beautiful. Imre found himself smiling even with the tragedy of their melody. He said nothing, but watched on all the while.
If she had agreed, then Sage would be singing next and Imre quietly looked forward to hearing that as well.

Parzifal hadn't heard his sister sing in... years. He turned away from the blue gunk in the pot at the same time as his brother, their heads moving nearly in unison. He didn't just want to hear this, he wanted to see it. Somehow, it made things a little less horrible. For all that he played the 'strong' one so that his siblings didn't have to, sometimes he just wanted nothing more than for someone to hug him close and tell him that everything was okay.
Hearing his sister sing after so long was the closest thing to helping that he'd heard since their mother died.
He tucked his wings close and listened, wishing not for the first time that he had the voice to join her. How special would it be to sing with his siblings? He'd never be able to do anything like that, though, not with his slurred speech and lack of any kind of pitch. It was just nice to listen to. He loved singing.
Giving himself a quick mental smack for thinking about all that, he refrained from saying anything, eyes flicking between the two girls. Would Sage actually sing after his sister? Or along with her?

Sage had heard the song before, but her ears perked with interest at the melody anyway. Maybe she could remember the lyrics if she tried hard enough. Poe was doing a wonderful job of keeping pitch even when she trailed off at the end of the song. Rather than reply to Poe's question she continued with the song as best she could.
"Gloomy Sunday, with shadows I spend it all, My heart and I have decided to end it all... Soon there'll be prayers and candles are lit, I know. Let them not weep, let them know, that I'm glad to go..."
Sage paused after she finished the verse. She gave the other girl a smile, "We could probably sing the whole song together if we really wanted to. I'm happy I've heard it before so I could continue it--but you do sing it quite well so I don't know if I did that good of a job." The wolf-squirrel was blushing a bit under her fur, but that couldn't be helped.

Poe blushed slightly, but found herself smiling as well. So she knew the song after all! It was a long time since she'd been, well...genuinely happy around someone other than her brothers. Her response came with a nod and, with another little smile, the next verse of the song.
She had missed singing more than she had realized.
"Death is no dream, For in death I'm caressing you... With the last breath of my soul I'll be blessing you. Gloomy Sunday..."
The finch trailed off once again, but instead of a stuttering concern she smiled up at Sage. Her breathing was a bit limited, thanks to the way she was forced to hunch over, but she could still sing when her confidence managed to return.
Imre was quiet still, hoping the girls would continue. He wanted to hear the end of the song now and both girls had such beautiful voices that he could have melted. Even better was that everyone seemed happy for the first time in such a long, long time.
He drew closer to his brother, almost leaning against him now.
He had no desire to sing. Voice or not. Especially not with others or before an audience. Singing would draw eyes to him, and when people acknowledged him it was always awkward. He preferred to be the background observer.

From the first minute of conversation with Sage, Parzifal knew that she and his sister were very much alike. They were both so timid, hesitant to say much of anything without prompting, and they seemed so awkward around other people until they felt comfortable enough to relax and smile. He just had no idea that the two of them would get on this well.
Maybe it also had something to do with the fact that Sage was a girl too...? There were no girls anywhere around, and none of Master's guests were ever 'girls', just men and women. Whenever Femi had brought one of her children before, their father had come along to watch them - or at least, the man he assumed to be their father, especially after seeing the wolf in Sage. They hadn't been allowed to interact with other children back home either, but at least there had always been their mother in whatever time she spent with them.
When his brother leaned closer, he leaned as well, partly resting against Imre. It was a comforting gesture, but it also satisfied that small part inside of him that needed the comfort and reassurance of his siblings' presence as well. Without them, there would be nothing. Family was everything.
"That sounded really, really nice," he said with a small smile after they'd both finished. "Where'd you learn that song, Sage? It was one our... Mom used to sing, but I'd always thought about it and remembered home, and you said you've never been to Torquehelm."
