Sage blushed a little as she laced her hands together in her nervous habit. "My Dad taught the song to me. His mom--my grandmother--was supposedly really talented when it came to music. She even made quite a few music boxes, so I imagine she had to learn music from all the different regions."
It made sense to her. Hopefully it would t everyone else in the room. "That's why I won't to leave the Wood someday. I want to be able to sing to all sorts of songs from the different regions but... that's a long way off." And she had to get over her terrifying fear of people and preforming in front of them. If she could ever get over that, she would be able to sing to all sorts of people. That and she had to convince her parents that she was capable enough to leave the Wood.
But of course the song wasn't finished.
"Dreaming, I was only dreaming. I wake and I find you asleep... In the deep of my heart here... Darling I hope, That my dream never haunted you. My heart is tellin' you how much I wanted you... Gloomy Sunday..."
She trailed off on the final note and smiled at Poe. Hopefully that was an acceptable end for the other girl.

Once he felt Parzi leaning more fully against him, Imre rested against the other male's body and sighed quietly.
Between the girls singing and Parzi's solid warmth, Imre found himself more at ease than he had been in a long time. Touching was nice and reassuring, it helped him to remember he was real and kept his talons firmly grounded, but the singing was familiar and reminded him of happier days.
"Poe wants that as well," he murmured, "to travel the world and sing."
His voice was soft and Imre wouldn't be surprised, nor would he entirely mind, if his absent comment went unheard. The girls were very much alike, except that Poe was very much a Torque. A lovely contrast though, at least he thought so.
Poe was all but beaming. It'd been a long time since she'd gotten to sing at all, let alone with someone as talented as Sage was. Her voice was gorgeous but, like Poe, her shyness could be crippling.
"Your voice is really very nice, Sage. Thank you for singing with me." She bobbed her head a little, smiling gently. "I hope you get your chance... T-To travel through the other regions, that is."
Faintly, she heard Imre's comment and smiled a little to herself. He was right.
"I've always wanted to go to the Villa. I've heard their music is among the best, if not the best."

Parzifal slowly nodded and relaxed against his brother. Half of the time at night they all huddled together like this, a feathery collection of bodies with black and purple and white sprinkled throughout. It always made him sleep easier when they did that, knowing that they were both right there beside him. If anything happened, he was there. His biggest fear was having any of them end up like their mother, gone forever.
"I'm sure you'll get your chance to get out someday," he told Sage with a nod. "You have a nice enough voice that I can't see anyone not listening. I mean, one look at you and I knew you'd be an incredible singer. I'm sure other people will be able to see that too."
And he and his siblings, they would get out as well. Vren had promised... work hard enough, diligently enough, and he would reward them with their freedom someday. He intended to make that promise a reality. Even so young, the boy had his ambitions. Freedom was high on the list.

Sage blushed a bit, it still peaked through her fur. On the bright side she wasn't bright red. She could contain herself a little bit now that she wasn't so nervous being with new people. They were nice, and they wouldn't make fun of her. Addressing everything they said was a bit of a challenge.
"Thank you," she said with a smile and a nod. "I hope that we run into each other while traveling some day. I'm sure it would be pretty fun." She had to work on her confidence issues while she was working for the future didn't she? Being shy wasn't going to help her become a great anything.
She glanced at all the people in the room. Not entirely sure what to do or say at a time like this. Awkward social situations weren't her forte. Well, she was sure someone would know what to say.

Poe couldn't help but smile while she was talking to Sage... Even if the girl did remind her, if only a little, of the limitations that were put upon her by birth and region. If nothing else, she had her singing and maybe even friends to share it with...
"Thank you, Sage. I hope we do. I would like to sing with you again someday."
Someday... Someday would depend first on whether or not Poe could make it that far. With her current restraints there was little Poe could do to call herself a performer. No singer climbed on stage and then failed to meet their audience's gaze, after all. It was even debatable, in Poe's mind, whether or not even obtaining Bipedal would be safe. Absently she shifted her weight form foot to foot, head lowering a little further to take the pressure off of her bindings.
She would get out one day... It was just a matter of how far she could make it.
Imre smiled to himself, gaze dancing over each of his siblings. Freedom... It's what they all wanted, in more ways than one. Imre just wanted to attain the promise Vren had given them...that one day they'd be able to earn their freedom from him.
He didn't have the ambition of his brother, nor the dreams that his sister harbored...but he wanted to be real someday.

((I hope you don't mind me furthering things a little bit. I just read through the last few posts nearly half a dozen times for inspiration and realized that it looked about finished. <3))
Femi's request regarding the enchantment of the doll didn't take much time, and the majority of her visit was just a social call. Yes, he could enchant it. No, it wouldn't cost all that much because it was a relatively easy spell with inexpensive ingredients. Yes, he could give her a bit more of the herbal mixture that helped sooth Alphonse's burns when he was accidentally exposed to sunlight.
She wanted to get back home before the sun even started to go down, especially with Sage in tow. The only way she would brave the Wood at night was with Kazifel by her side, and even that wasn't necessarily something she chose to do unless it was an extenuating circumstance.
"Sage, sweetie!" she called as she walked down the stairs. "Mommy's finished with her visit, so we can go back home now! Where are you?"
Parzifal's head turned at the sound and he couldn't stop a disappointed sigh from escaping his beak. She had to go already? "I think that's your mom, Sage. I guess you have to go...?" They never got visitors their own age. "I hope you get to come back over sometime. I would love to hear you sing again, especially if you and Poe practiced together like that."

Sage's ears flicked back when she heard her mother's voice. Did they have to go that soon? Oh well. She could always ask Mommy to come again. She beamed at all of them, and hurried over to Parzifel. Hastily she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you for the water and the wonderful time. I'll come back as soon as I can manage. It's nice having friends like you." She grinned before hurrying out of the kitchen. She didn't want to make Mommy wait since they had quite a bit of a walk to go home.
What a wonderful time they had. She liked having friends her own age. Friends who weren't family and didn't make fun of her for every little thing she did. When she finally made it to her mother she grinned. "Mommy, when can we come back again?"

Poe was sad to see the sweet biped leave so soon. It had been nice having someone to sing with and Poe found herself hoping that she would come back for another visit soon. Visitors were so very rare. Especially nice ones.
"It was a pleasure, Sage! Bye."
She was smiling, which was a rare but pleasant thing, and she couldn't help but notice the little peck Parzi received as the girl hurried out. She wouldn't say anything about it, not that it would look like she had to... Not with the way Imre had gotten that quirked little smile at the edges of his beak.
A mischevious little smile spread over Imre's features once Sage kissed his cheek, the little corvid holding down a bubbly little laugh.
Once he was sure Sage was out of earshot, the boy let out a light little chuckle and nudged his brother. "Did we miss something while we were out, Parzi?" As odd as the trio of them were, boys would be boys.

Parzifal blushed through his feathers when she ran over to give him a quick peck. What was that for? "U-um, thanks, It was really nice to meet you too. And you're welcome?"
He worked to fight off the flush and whacked playfully at his brother with one wing. "No, you ninny, I just gave her some water and listened to her sing. Besides, eww, girls. Except for you, Poe." He coughed, all the maturity of a child in his awkward pose. "She was really nice, though. It was fun to have somebody here who was our age..."
Femi was already in a good mood from her visit, and just beamed when Sage asked her question. "I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, sweetie! We can come back in a little while to fetch the enchanted doll and maybe you'll be able to play with the servants again." She fluffed her tail around her daughter, then took her hand and headed out.
((Is this the conclusion or should there be more?))
