He simply nodded. He had to agree that hand brewed tea always tasted better even if it didn't taste exactly the same each time. The children comment made him freeze for a moment. He never wanted children--he should probably go to a therapist himself and have that worked out, but that wasn't going to happen any time soon. "I see," Rosewood said filing that information away even if he didn't really need to. Old habits die hard. He waved a wing at her biped comment. "I don't mind at all, in fact I should probably change forms too, it's terribly difficult to drink tea properly with wings."Though he had done it for his entire childhood, and obviously Cards did it every day. Of course it wouldn't kill him if things were easier. He waited for her reply before transforming however. He wasn't going to be rude in someone's house when he was their guest.

She made a confirming noise before turning back to what she was doing, moving fluidly from animal to bipedal form as she skirted across the room to grab the pot with a rag. "Indeed! Admittedly I have a better time in biped.. with opposable thumbs and all. Not as good as biped hands but it certainly gave me an edge." Putting two fresh cups down on the table she poured them both a cup, putting sugar down. Putting white powder in a glass, she added water to make a milky substance. "Hope you don't mind powdered milk. I don't have a home ice box so it's hard to keep fresh stuff in the house.. especially since it's hard to keep cows by the beach. I should really invest in some goats.." She sighed at that, sitting down and putting a touch of sugar into her tea.

"Cow milk is overrated anyway," Rosewood said with a smile. Honestly he wasn't one to put milk in anything besides his coffee and his orange tea. Since this was neither of those he probably wouldn't be touching the powdered milk.
He took in the scent of the tea first before deciding if he wanted to put sugar or milk into it. It smelled fantastic, probably could use a bit of sugar, but for now he would have a drink without it. Tipping the glass back he took a nice long sip.
It didn't need anything to compliment it. It was a wonderful blend all in itself. Obviously Zuberi had done a good job picking the right amount of herbs--making tea by hand never guaranteed a quality taste. At least that's what he had experienced during his childhood. His mother always made horrible tea while his grandmother always came up with the perfect flavor.
"This is fantastic."

Though she hadn't noticed herself doing it, Zuberi's mouth hovered over the rim of her cup, watching and waiting expectantly for the swan to take a sip. She had been leaning forward, waiting for the verdict.
"I'm glad you like it." She smiled warmly before turning to her own cup, sipping at the liquid daintily. "It's not everyone's flavor, but I find that people either hate it or love it."
Leaning back in her chair a bit, she took a moment to regard the swan with an appraising eye. Not necessarily scrutiny, but it was obvious her mind was churning up potential conversation starters. "So..." She set her cup down to let it cool a bit. Even the most delicious of teas were difficult to drink hot in Midori. "Do you reside in the Tulgey Woods, Rosewood? Nowadays you can't assume where a person lives because of their region colors, I'm finding out."

Rosewood took another sip of his tea as he watched the squirrel formulate a plan of action. Conversation was one of the most difficult things for complete strangers, but he did it every time when he was in his office or when he was in the backroom with some patron.
The swan raised an eyebrow briefly at her question and comment. "I left Tulgey when I was younger to go to school in Esterberry. I haven't gone back since my Grandmother passed away." He sipped the tea again, setting this time. "Plus it's difficult to be a therapist in such a place. Everyone has a problem but everyone thinks it's perfectly normal. That's why I moved to Capital City."
And he could follow his second job as well. Of course that had all started with trying to pay his bills in Esterberry. Who knew that there were plenty of strip clubs in such a prim and proper region. "Do you travel often?" he asked with a polite smile.

Zuberi nodded most casually to what Rosewood was saying. She understood how being anywhere but the major city would make any sort of work difficult. Her brows raised when he mentioned going to Esterberry. She had half thought to comment on it before he then mentioned his grandmother. She made a regretful sound in her throat before looking down to stare at her drink.
Her gaze though.. turned somewhat distant at his next question. Obviously it didn't take much to set her into a wave of emotional turmoil, did it? Her brows furrowed just slightly before she cleared her throat and spoke. "Oh, no no.... not much at all. It seems any time I try to leave... Midori just drags me back." Though she smiled good naturedly with the comment, her choice of words might be construed as interesting. 'dragged her back'.... perhaps she felt more resentment to her homeland than might have originally been thought.
Considering how that comment made her sound.. somewhat pathetic, she prattled on. "I mean.. I go to the Capital for some shopping from time to time... Sometimes I go to the Court of Hearts to visit friends.. but I really don't -travel-. Not like some people do."

It was nice to know that people still had proper emotions in the real world. His family had never been very grief stricken over his grandmother's death. He was. But to his family that even that counted. The swan traced a finger over the tea cup listening to her responses.
Dragging her back? That was a negative way of looking at it. As she continued the swan raised an eyebrow. Court of Hearts, eh? That was an interesting bit of information to file away. At least she had some friends in interesting places, right?
He wasn't sure if he was speaking out of line. "If you want to get out more you could always visit me in the Capital." He gave her a weak smile before taking a long drink of tea. Ah his personal life really sucked when he thought about it. "I don't have many visitors to my home beyond my boyfriend. So I would be happy to make another friend."
As if to cover up what he had just admitted he set the tea down to play with again. "Plus if you get away from home you won't feel like you're being dragged back. That's how it works for me sometimes."

Zuberi's brow raised ever so slightly at his mentioning of a boyfriend, but discreetly went back to her tea to take a sip. Honestly it didn't surprise her. It always seemed like the beautiful men were always that way. Homosexuality was not common in her town because of its rigid ideals, but then again not shunned. Zuberi held no ill will towards a man who wished to hold that sort of lifestyle. Honestly she didn't know of her own orientation at times. The only -man- for her though, would always be Pinkbeard.
"Oh, I'm always keen for another excuse to visit the capital." Zuberi said brightly. Then, her smile became quite coy, peering over the rim of her cup mischievously. "So... a boyfriend? What is -he- like? Oh yes, I want to know what is going on in the stoic shrink's life... if you don't mind me prying. I do love hearing a good love story."

Rosewood couldn't help but chuckle. "I'm not as stoic as people would like to believe." He shifted so he could rest his chin on his arm. "Most people don't ask."
The swan wasn't quite sure if Rogers would appreciate someone knowing about his love life, but he wasn't here and no one really asked Rosewood how he felt half the time. "He's a brightly colored Morganberry Villa German Shepard. And we met at my other job," He smiled. Glossing over the details was something that needed to be done.
"He's an accountant at West Lakes Shipping Firm. Respectable business man. His one amazing downfall is that he is the cheapest man known to grace society. He didn't even buy his mattress...." the swan's eyebrows raised at the memory of Roger's apartment. He desperately wanted to get that man things.
"He is my complete and utter opposite. Which is probably why I would be more than willing to spend the rest of my life with him. Not as juicy as you would like, I'm sure, but I think it sums things up rather well."
