Turning, she realized Xylia had come back in. "Oh my, people are so cruel sometimes. I used to get picked on a lot as a child so I learned quickly not to do that to others. I would be a hypocrite to make another feel bad about themselves. Mostly I hear about my suit, most people look down on clubs so I had to get used to that temperament early on."
"Honestly, I do not find anything wrong with you Xylia; I would be glad to call you a friend." She smiled at Xylia reassuringly.
She remembered Father telling her not to take peoples words seriously about her suit. It made her feel better, but she got the impression that he did not agree with what he was telling her. She knew he would never say anything to make her feel bad as she was his only daughter and he loved her but... something still lingered... she could never figure out what though...

Xylia laughed, the sound warm and pleasant and oddly contrasting from that deep black coat and obsidian orbs. The doe's personality was far too bright for her dark mutations, but ah well...it made her all the more unique, didn't it?
That's what Solo would say, she was sure.
"Haha! I'm happy to tell people about my mishap, it's my Corvie blood and I'm proud of my heritage." She puffed up her chest comically before slumping down beside her brother. "But he really is right," she spoke with a smile on her maw all the while, "they're an odd ball family but I'm happy to be a part of it."
There were days when Xylia would've loved to have been Maxwell's child, but on the other hand she adored her father's gentlemanly airs. A mixture, perhaps, was where she was happiest. Lord knows she didn't get to spend as much time in Silvanus's company as she did in Maxwell's.
"I'm glad to hear that you learned to rise above all that. I suppose it's how my mum raised me, but suit and rank were never a big deal to me. I...miss being a Heart, but that's only because I love weaponry and I just..." She shook her head. "It's a hard transition, having my suit mutate with the rest of my markings." Another shake of her head, this time a bit harder and considerably more decisive.
"Thank you though, Dilis. It's nice to know I have a friend in you."

[ooc: *runs past screaming, creating a doppler effect*]
"That's the way of it, Dilis!" he said cheerfully. And then his smile turned horrifically sappy when Xylia confessed that she was glad to be part of his family, and the next thing she knew, she would probably have an overly-friendly deer-cat practically lying on top of her in his own special version of a hug, one forleg draped over her shoulders as he rubbed his cheek against hers. Well, unless she side-stepped him or something, in which case he would end up lying on a silly-looking pile on the ground, grinning up at her like an idiot. Either way.
"We're always glad to have you, Xy!" he proclaimed from wherever he ended up, either draped over her or on the floor.
After recovering his dignity- alright, alright, he didn't exactly have that in the first place. After pulling himself back together into a slightly more collected pose, he grinned at the both of them.
"Friends, yeah? Well, if you'd be willing to call me friend as well, Dilis," he added belatedly, nodding his head gracefully to her. "I don't want to pressure you, so feel free to tell me to bugger off until later."

Dilis was very much amused and endeared by the relationship Xylia and Solo had… she kind of wished she had that for herself though. All she had was her father, as her mother had died when she was very young so she always felt it would have been nice to have a sibling.
“I can only imagine how difficult it is for you Xylia, to go from being a heart to becoming a spade.” She felt for the doe, she had it hard enough being a club but she could not imagine being a lovely heart and then turning into a spade via mutation.
Turning back to Solo though she smiled brightly; he was so nice and she felt this urge to want him as a big brother but she would never admit that. Xylia and Solo were so cute together! He had jumped her and hugged her, knocking her over in the process and that made Dilis giggle.
“Friends? Well of course I would call you a friend, Solo… you both have been very kind to me so I cannot see why I would not.”

Xylia let out a happy cry and a delighted giggle as her brother pounced her, slumping over shoulders in a massive heap of deer-cat and nuzzling her with brotherly affectionate. Had she decided she didn't want his affection (or if it had been someone else entirely) Xylia could've easily avoided the affectionate glomp, as Solo would easily known considering how his half-sister trained so obsessively. If she couldn't have her old suit and the boost that came with it, Xylia had decided that she would have to work ten times as hard naturally and show up all those Hearts just what she could really do.
When he had released her, Xylia stretched and yawned greatly before dipping her head in mild embarrassment. How late was it by now anyway? She probably ought to let Dilis sleep... So, after some brief chat, she quietly slipped off into her room and allowed Solo and Dilis to talk or head to bed as they pleased.

Solo was, as usual for him, awake fairly early in the morning - he tended to subsist on less sleep than most people, which was probably a holdover of his Corvistowne heritage. You couldn't run long-standin experiments if you were off sleeping all the time, now could you? On the other hand, when there was nothing for him to do and no one for him to spend time with, he was also perfectly willing to indulge the feline part of himself and sleep away long, lazy hours. But with a guest in the apartment, it was best to be up and around if she needed help.
It took only the work of a few minutes to get breakfast started: it was some sort of mixture of things that he'd found he enjoyed, that he normally went a bit heavier on the vegetables and grains since Xylia was around. He balanced it all out this time, figuring that Dilis would enjoy the meats and other things too. Solo wasn't the world's best cook, and he knew it, but he was passable and had never even managed to cause smoke stains on the ceiling (which, honestly, was a bit more than Mom had ever done until he'd made himself a timer to go off so he didn't get distracted by projects).
[ooc: I figure Maxwell will come around next post, once everyone is officially awake?]

Dilis woke slowly, hoping Father would not be too upset with her for not getting in contact with him. She quietly put her pearls back on so as not to wake anyone since it was early and went into the kitchen; Solo was there which surprised her... Hmm... thought I was the only one who rose so early.
"Good Morning Solo, I am surprised to see you up" She smiled. She the noticed all the food he had made for the three of them.
"Oh my, I have never seen so much food! Did you make this for us? It looks wonderful" Dilis walked up behind him, her pearls almost touching him and blushed.
"Oh- I am sorry, I did not mean to do that...err" She backed off a little and sat down at the kitchen table. "Xylia is not awake yet, Solo?" She said quickly, trying to change the subject. She did not mean to be forward but sometimes she could not help herself.

Xylia was, as per usual, the last to bed and the last to wake. She had remained awake in her bedroom, tampering with the bracers and experimenting with her abilities...recording notes until exhaustion forced her into bed. The doe would've slept late into the afternoon as well had the sweet smell of food not roused her. A shudder rushed happily up her spine and her ears tipped forward even before her eyes opened.
She could hear soft voices and low noises in the kitchen which meant Solo was already up and, since he didn't usually speak to himself, their guest was probably up to.
Yawning widely, the doe stumbled out of bed and made her way into the kitchen. Her entrance was noted with another wide yawn, one eye opened to focus on them and she smiled a little. " 'Morning Solo, Dilis... Did you both sleep well?" Another yawn, a small blink, and she focused both shining black eyes onto Solo as a grin cracked more widely across her muzzle. "Breakfast smells irresistible, Solo."
(<3 Sound's good. ^_^)

[ooc: *sighs* Slow Internet is slow. Slow Shini is also slow. *cough*] Solo grinned broadly when Dilis came in and noticed the morning meal that he was working on, his chest puffing up with pride at her comments. He wasn't the best cook in the world, at least not from what he'd been able to taste in his trips all over as a courier, but he liked to play around with different tastes from different Regions. Occasionally he'd even gotten a few recipes from cooks who had been flattered enough by his honest admiration that they'd been willing to hand him some tips. None of their secrets, of course, but he didn't really want to make anything beyond good, honest meals, with something fun now and again. Of course, being able to cook for yourself on the road meant that he saved a good amount of money that he didn't have to spend on meals. "Good morning to you too! Ah, this isn't too much. I'll warn you, I'm likely to eat over half of it; I burn a lot of energy, so I eat plenty," he said cheerfully, and then glanced down at himself. "Of course, it's not like I need any more bulk or anything!" he added, laughing at himself. He was a big cat, and his brothers were big cats as well - well, Rindal was. Seki would be if he didn't have that silly not-eating thing going. Dilis' friendly presence drew no more than a companionable and appreciative grin from the deer-cat, and he was about to answer her question about Xylia when Xylia herself showed up. "I slept fantastically, Xylia. I hope you got some sleep eventually, what with all of your puttering about." And it seemed that the two of them had perfect timing, because just then he noticed that the food was done, and he ushered Xylia over to the table as well before dishing up food for the both of them, with admonitions to grab more if they wanted any. "Tell me if the taste matches the smell, hm?" he added. Solo was about to dig into his own food when knocking at the front door caught his attention, and he looked up with a vague frown of confusion. He didn't think anyone was supposed to be showing up any time soon... As he hadn't sat down just yet, he headed toward the door, opening it up to find one of the most unexpected people on his doorstep: Maxwell. "Mom?!"
