Hearing her coming towards him one of his hears flicked backwards to capture the sound better. When she came to rest next to him, wrapping her arms around him and resting her head against him he gave a deep sigh. Leaning back against her some she brought one of his paws up to pet her forearm.
"What are you doing up?" He asked her quietly after a moment. He knew that he had been quiet enough to not have woken her up with his movements.
Whenever Dre was around he felt somewhat calmer, for a reason he still was not sure of why. At moments like this it was not something he was going to fight against though.
"I hope that I did not wake you again." He continued, turning his head to kiss her gently on the forehead. He had never spoken to her of the thoughts that were bothering him of late but he was sure that she was aware that at least something was up. She always seemed to be observant of things like that.

"The bed is cold without you," she answered fondly, moving her beak to nuzzle gently along his jaw. Again she could tell that he was brooding over something. It concerned her. She had left well enough alone, hoping that it was only the upheavals in the Court that had the man so disturbed.
The Heart Court felt off now. Hardly a surprise. The halls were deserted, those still on staff were skittish and fearful. Dre sighed to herself and banished the thought. She wasn't born to sadness and woe; she was a creature of light and laughter. That wasn't the point now.
"Would you like to talk about it?" she offered gently. She was more than willing to lend him her mind and strength.
Drostan pulled himself tighter, pretending to sleep as he attempted to go back to sleep. He didn't want to hear any agonized monologues.

At his wife's comment about the cold bed he gave a small smile. For some reason knowing that she was aware of his absence as well as his presence pleased the man. Wrapping his other arm back and around he hugged her tighter to him.
He was silent for a moment as he considered her offer for him to talk about what was bothering him. He was not all that used to talking to anyone over the things that he usually thought - not to mention those that worried him. Ira and Se were not really the type one usually went shared inner thoughts with. Would it do him well to talk about it to her? She might think it nothing and brush it off.
Torn by indecisiveness he gave a small shrug to brush the issue off. "Do you think it is something worth listening to?" He asked knowing it might be a silly question.

Dre couldn't stop the small smile that curved the edges of her beak as Ignatius' arm tightened around her. He made her very happy just by his very presence in her life. Still, when he was disturbed, she couldn't help but be disturbed as well. She lifted on hand gently scritch back behind the man's ears as she thought about his question.
Despite his fears, the woman didn't think his question was silly at all. Instead, she thought quite seriously about it. When she finally spoke it was with a thoughtful tone that proved this exact thing.
"I think that if it is still bothering you now, it must be worth listening to and worth talking about." She kept her gentle scritching going; hopefully he enjoyed the affectionate touch, since it was helping her think.
Drostan tugged himself into a tighter little ball, pretending that he couldn't hear anything.

He did indeed enjoy the attention she was giving and shifted his head slightly to allow her better access. Resisting the urge to produce something that might be akin to a purr he thought instead about what she had said.
It was true that the matter was something that had been bothering him for a while now. The wondering really was not letting up and at some moments seemed to be worse than others. If he was going to talk about it though they would probably be better off sitting somewhere rather than standing.
Taking a hold of her had he turned and gave her a quick squeezing hug. He really did adore his little feather dance. After releasing her from the hug he tugged on her hand to convince her to follow him to the couch. Taking a seat so that he was sitting at one end, tucked in the corner. Tugging her arm again he tried to convince her to sit down next to him, allowing her to lay down if she wanted as well.

It didn't take much to encourage the woman to follow her husband so she gladly accepted his hug and attention and followed him obediently to the couch. She didn't just sit, she immediately sprawled out, laying her head in his lap. She pulled one of his arms across her chest so she could run her fingers up and down his red and yellow arms. She settled a bit more on the cushions and her spouse's lap and gladly gave a small sigh of contentment.
Now that she was quite comfortable and hopefully he was as well, the avian hybrid looked expectantly back up at the face of her beloved. She reached up briefly to caress his face, then let her hand go back to playing with the different coloured fur.
Drostan was actually beginning to doze back off as the couple relocated to the couch. His red eyes closed.

When she settled herself on the couch and used him as a cushion for her head he could not help but give a grin. It was something that his Dre would totally do and having done so made him happy.
Allowing her to adjust his one arm across her, it was with the other one that he brought it down in order to play with her fringe.
He paused from another moment, trying to decide just what it was that he was going to say and how. This was all new to him so he was not really sure what to do or how.
Taking a deep breath he closed his eyes for a moment before breaching the matter on his mind. "I have been wondering if we have done the right thing." That did not sound too awkward a topic to be worried about right? He was not used to having anything that might near the feeling of guilt on a matter.

Dre's ears twitched curiously at these words and she watched his chin thoughtfully, even after his eyes closed. She kept her fingers running calmly and smoothly up and down his arm rather than pausing and giving way to her vague confusion at the words. She didn't have to ask to what he was referring, but the topic was rather surprising at first.
She again paused to think for a very long time, perhaps a moment too long, though if Ignatius glanced down at her he would see that she was doing that rather than just blowing off his question.
When she finally spoke, the words were slow and betrayed the same thing. "That's a good thing to ask yourself," she said quietly. "Especially when it's something as complex as what has been wrought here. Why have you been wondering that, though?"
The voices were slowly cutting through the Ace's doze.

He was thankful that she did not just brushed off his concern. At her question towards why he was thinking about this he tilted his head to the side though. It was a good question that he had not really thought of before. What or why was it that he had suddenly had second-quality thoughts about everything that they have done.
Giving a small shrug "I am not really sure what brought up the question but I have been wondering if we did the right thing or not for everyone overall. Did we help or cause more harm?" Did it even matter?
He knew better than anyone just how determine Se had been about killing off his father. It was also due to this determination that Se had had that he knew he would not have been successful should he have tried to convince Se to not go after his father.

Dre let her fingers trace a complex pattern through his fur, a sort of Celtic knot. She hoped the pattern would help her think. "Well, I certainly wouldn't say that everyone is completely happy about what has occurred. Actually," and here she had to give a small laugh. "I think most people will be very unhappy for awhile." She shrugged, an action that caused her wings to twitch against his legs, the muscles contracting so it bumped Iggy's thigh.
"Still. . . Uncle Se likely would have caused even more trouble if left unchecked." She tapped a finger against his arm for a moment. "This way, the children and innocents of the Court, those he was more likely to react against have all been moved to safety. And, hopefully, this will help him gain some clarity." Was it best, though? She didn't know. "I'm glad Grandfather didn't have to die, though," she said softly.
Drostan opened an eye to glance towards the couple.
