He almost gave a small chuckle at her comment. It was true that pretty much the whole Court was currently not happy with what had happened. He was pretty sure that many people where cursing him and Se behind the backs right now for bringing this upon them. Not to say that he did not think they deserved it some to a degree.
"Se probably would have caused a lot more damage had he been left unchecked." That he agreed with her without much thought to it being any sort of otherwise. "However, I can not help but wonder that there might have been another option of play. What if I had kept him out of the Court?"
Considering with the option that they had taken it was a good thing that they had managed to keep His Majesty Shinrai alive. But even that brought to mind more questions the poor mix was not sure he was able to answer.

Her ears flicked sideways for a moment; they would have gone back thoughtfully, but with her head laying on Ignatius' lap they were slightly stuck. "And if you had?" she threw right back at him, though her tone was kind enough. "Do you really think that would have kept him in check? Uncle Se wasn't acting very logically and I wonder if perhaps it might have simply caused a greater explosion later on. What if you had taken him away and then he came on rampage through the Court? He might have gone on a massacre." She shuddered delicately. "His human form, Ignatius. . . the lower ranked wouldn't have stood a chance."
She hoped to never see her uncle's human form ever again, though she doubted she would be that fortunate.
Drostan's ears came up as he thought about the couple's topic. He didn't have an answer and he was certainly not going to step into the conversation.

He was silent as he brought up this new point of view on his thoughts. Running a paw through the top part of her hair before it trailed into the braid, being gently not to tug on it. She had brought up a situation that he had not considered with the chance of resulting.
It definitely would have been a lot worse had Se gone on a completely uncontrollable rage compared to the guided attack he had been led on. If the rage had happened he had to agree with Dre that there would have been a lot more causalities than just Shinrai.
"I just can not help but wonder if His Majesty Elias was right about us not being prepared. Would it have been better if Se had been killed?" He paused for a moment before continuing in a lower tone, "Could anyone even kill him?" He was not sure if Dre knew the whole story behind his strange commitment with the Queen's sons.

Dre trailed her fingers down his arm again as she listened, but her answer was faster now. "If you mean is Uncle Se somehow immortal, then the answer to your question is certainly yes." She smiled again, knowing that it was a rather complicated way of answering. "Could someone kill him in a Queenship fight. . ." Dre hesitated now, eyes going distant as her fingers stilled. "If anyone had the capabilities to do so, it would have been Grandfather. She went silent in thought. The Queen of Hearts should have made short work of his challenger, but Rai had the heart of a father more than the heart of a ruler. She tried not to think that Rai had only delayed the inevitable whilst cursing the Court of Hearts to a time of darkness.
Still. He loved his son. Who could blame him for that?
Drostan agreed with their conversation thus far.

He could see and agree with her point on Se not being moral. It was the second matter that had him up recently thinking about it. He was pretty sure that he and Ira had saved His Majesty's life by having traded the poison out before the fight and it probably had been one of the only things that they had been able to do physically themselves without breaking the rules of the fight.
Pausing in his petting he rested his left arm so that it outlined her head when he asked his next question, his head tilted to the side in thought. "What do you think of outside of a Queenship fight?" He asked, curious to see what she thought on the matter.
Even as he asked the question he found himself becoming a little defense at the thought that someone would try or could kill his friend. The irony and hypocrisy did not pass his notice.

"Murder?" the woman asked, so surprised that she almost lifted herself up. As it was, she gently put her head back down on Ignatius' lap and stared at him for a very long moment. It was hard to say exactly what thoughts were slipping through her mind just then. She hardly knew herself.
Drostan's head came up the whole way and he stared towards the couch as he thought about this. He thought it was the right answer, actually. Assassination or murder; rid the world of a rabid crazy.
"The rules would no longer apply," the falcon mix said softly, as though to herself. "So it wouldn't require a one-on-one battle, but that seems. . ." She sought the correct word. "Cowardly, I guess. Even Uncle Se deserves a fair chance." Didn't he? She'd given Sevren a fair enough chance. Elias, however, had certainly made his opinion on that subject clear.

"This is where I get torn and my thoughts start to wonder over possibilities. Having been raised mostly by Elias while younger a lot of my thoughts on matters seem to coincide with those that Elias have.
"On this though, I think I disagree and wonder if it is just a difference in thought of it is a tear due to loyalty. I have a lot of personal interest invested in the 'crazy' that I do not think that many people understand or could even comprehend."
He was not even sure at times that his Dre fully comprehended it. Recently though his friend seemed to be causing more problems then he was normally functioning.
"Even though it is a cowardly thing, murder from any other source is still an viable threat. And I can not help but wonder if it a worthwhile option, even as bad as that sounds."

"Uncle El raised you?" the woman asked in surprise, ears pricking forward yet again. It was a bit of a shock, though, and she needed to take a moment to assimilate the information. She turned her mind back to the matter on hand with some difficulty.
There were more to his words than just the words themselves, there was something beneath them and Ignatius had just made it abundantly clear that it was all tied into Uncle Se.
Dierdre sat up slowly and turned to face the mouse hybrid squarely. "I've never understood why exactly you have so much tied into Uncle Se, Ignatius," she said softly, probing. "I would like to know why and how. . ." She tried to remember what he had previously told her. That he saw her father and Se as his brothers, yes; beyond that, however, she was unaware.
Drostan tried to not roll his eyes at Ignatius' proclamation. It was sappy. There was no place for that here.

He gave a blink of confusion for a moment at her question. It never had really occurred to him just how much of his past she did not know. Most of the time he found that he just assumed that other people knew things that were of an obvious nature to himself.
"My father, Aderlass, did not realize he was pregnant - by the previous Queen Veldmair - until he had already killed the man. Though from the way my father talks I do not think that would have changed anything. He traveled to the Josiggy Marsh to have me and left me in the care of Elias. Elias is the one who raised your grandfather so I think he dd it in hopes that I would be ready for what faced me in the Courts as Shinrai had been compared to my father. So in a strange way I consider all three to be my parents."
When she sat up to face him he shifted his position slightly so he was leaning more on the back of the couch than the arm as he had been. He was silent as he considered just how to tell that unique tale.

The part about Aderlass and the former Queen Veldmair sounded familiar, but the rest of it was a bit of a surprise. "But Uncle El raised Grandfather. . ." This was less of a protestation, as it might have sound, and more of her attempt to make it all make sense. She sent her spouse a sudden brilliant, if mischievous, smile. "So. . . you're more like my grandfather rather than my father," she teased him, leaning forward to plant a gentle peck of a kiss on his lips before settling back again so she could still easily see his face.
Her mind wasn't following his as she was still assimilating the fact that the man who was responsible for her grandfather was also responsible for her husband. If she hadn't already respected Elias for Rai, she would have adored him for helping shape Ignatius.
Drostan listened silently and wasn't nearly as surprised as his mistress had been. There were many similarities between Iggy and Elias. The Ace didn't think many of them were good.
