"I love you too," Theofilus replied in a clear and solid voice. There was no need to be shy about the fact. There was no other reason why they would be together. "We're family, remember. You can always say what's on your mind." He reassured her and himself. They were in fact family. Something he had been searching for what seemed like forever. Enough of that though. It was time to get the kids.
He smiled as he passed Calia to knock on the door for the children.
"Aw." Zane said with a false sigh, "They got up before we could get the chance to pounce."
Ez grinned as a happy yip came from the corner. Azzurra had finally woken up to greet her sister and brother in the corner. The little Lakeland sparrow bounced up to the door and opened it for his father. He chirped, "Morning!" as he usually did.
His dad smiled down at him. "Pancakes for everyone today?" his father asked.
Ez grinned. Pancakes were the only thing his dad could really cook properly.

There was a happy smile that began to grow at the corners of her beak, spreading slowly until it gifted her entire face with a warm glow. He really did love her, didn't he? It made her feel completely light, as if her feet were beginning to float away from the ground. She had such an amazing family, and she loved them all more than anything in the world - in truth, she loved them more than the world itself. As he passed her, she directed that glowing smile at him, hoping to make sure he felt as loved in that moment as she did.
Then her children appeared, and she gave a small chirp of delight. Any other time, the sparrow might have been slightly embarassed by such a sound, but her joy at seeing two of her beautiful sons completely overrode that. "Ez! Zane![/b]" she called out, turning from the counter to walk to them, embracing them both slightly with her wings. Mori squealed and jumped into the hug, pressing herself between her brothers and mother, beaming. "How did you all sleep?[/b]"
Mori pried herself from the hug and quickly ran to her father's side, eyes bright and happy. "Dad! Daddy!" she called out, her fluffy tail swishing happily from side to side. "Look, daddy! Ez did my hair again! Look how pretty I am!" It was impossible to miss how much the little sparrow idolized her father. All she wanted in her life was for him to simply adore her.
Daliah had detached from Mori and, with ears erect, proceeded to investigate her siblings, small taill beginning to pan slowly from side to side. It was beginning to look like the perfect opportunity to play, and the little creature leapt onto the pile of banders that had begun to form.

Ez wiggled in his mothers grip, slightly unsteady on his feet as he took a step or two back. "We slept well mom!" He grinned up at her. He really did miss her sometimes. Who wouldn't?
Zane nodded in agreement, "It's great that you came early." He looked to Mori and back to his mother. There must have been a reason for them to magically show up at night... something adult he was sure.
"You look fantastic!" Theofilus grinned down at his daughter. She was so adorable, Theofilus couldn't help but hug her. He looked down at her with a smile spread on his beak, "Want some breakfast? I'm sure you're hungry after a night's rest with your brothers."
Azzurra let out a sharp squeak when her sister pounced. She gave an indignant huff as she pushed her off her sibling. With a shake of her bleary eyed head she sat up and stared at her sister for a few moments. She decided to bat at her playfully, fine. Have it that way.

"I'm glad to hear it.[/b]" Calia said happily, positively beaming at the two. It really was astounding how big they had gotten, and she made up her mind right then. They would be moving as soon as they got home, as she wanted all of her children closer to her more than anything. She hated the feeling that she was missing out on large portions of their lives. She smiled warmly at Zane, nodding. "I'm glad we did, too. We're going to have a wonderful weekend together.[/b]"
Mori chirruped with glee as she returned the hug, wiggling and climbing her way up onto her father's shoulders, nuzzling her beak into the feathers atop his head. "Breakfast is okay if I can sit here while you make it, daddy." she said in an entirely serious tone, glancing at Ez over Theofilus's head and grinning widely. She glanced over at the sound of the bander's playing, laughing musically as she looked at them just in time to see Dahlia fall onto her side, paws waving dramatically in the air at Azzura.
The night's turmoil forgotten, Calia turned to Theofilus and Mori once more, looking up at him with a quiet joy. The house was full of sounds of laughter and joy, and soon, the smell of food cooking. Life was beautiful.
