Femi hugged her doll and kissed his hair, then carefully sat him up on her pillow and crawled over to where Kazifel was sewing, wrapping her arms around him and petting his chest as she rested her chin on his shoulder. He could pause with the buttons while she snuggled him.
Tomorrow they would have to go and pick up the children and she'd have to spend some time talking to her parents before they could come back home. Daddy and Mother would probably have plenty to talk about after having a house guest for a week, too. She was interested in hearing their thoughts on Aunt Josephine. For all that she really didn't like the woman much, they probably had a lot more in common with her. Besides being old, anyway.
"Well, if it's important then it's going to come back to you. If not, you don't need to be worrying about it." She kissed his cheek and smiled.

He stopped sewing the buttons back on, that was for sure. He smiled as Femi snuggled up against him. Oh, he would miss the peace and quiet. As soon as the kids came back he wouldn't be able to spend time with her without being sleep deprived. He never thought he would have that many children either. How it happened he still had absolutely no idea.
But that didn't matter. He was cuddling with Femi. "I guess you're right," he said with a grin. Kazifel took one of her hands and kissed it. He really shouldn't worry about invisible somethings that he was forgetting. He had to enjoy this time while it lasted.
"So uh..." He looked away briefly debating on what to actually say, "Want to have a little more fun before we have to go back to living a hectic life of child care again?"

Femi could have melted when he kissed her hand, the gesture so unbearably romantic. She had no idea how much work having children would be until they were actually there. They'd both been so busy with five children to take care of that the only times they could be romantic when they were both dead tired. She leaned in and nosed at his cheek, then turned his head so that she could kiss him. Human form certainly made that a lot easier to do, and that should be answer enough.

Her daddy reluctantly handed over Alphonse when they went by to collect them the next morning, wrapped in his sheet and absently chewing at the carcass of a dead mouse. "I caught it last night and I figured you wouldn't mind," the man said with a shrug at the startled look from his daughter. "He sucked the blood out of it already. Now I think he's just playing with it."

Oh it was enough. More than enough.
--
Kazifel raised a furry eyebrow, he was back in his biped from so he could properly carry the kids around. His eye twitched as he listened to Femi's father explain about the mouse. It was a dead animal, and he was "playing" with it. That was horrible on so many levels Kazifel didn't know where to start. He would just leave it alone. Let the little kid chew on it until he got bored so they could throw it away.
He looked down at the other bundles in his arm. Sage was soundly sleeping, Rosemary was doing her best to wiggle out of his grip, and Parsley was somewhere between asleep and awake. At least they were quiet. Femi would have to deal with Thyme and Alphonse like she usually did.
"I hope they didn't give you any trouble," Kazifel said as he shifted Rosemary in his arms. Geesh she could move when she really wanted to. "And I hope my Aunt wasn't a problem."

Femi stuck the mouse more firmly in Alphonse's mouth when it started to slip away and took Thyme in her other arm, the girl comfortable and drowsy enough that she didn't see fit to make trouble for her mother, just lay there and doze half-in and half-out of consciousness. At least both of her bundles seemed content to stay where they were at the moment, good...
Her father waved a hand. "Oh, they were no trouble. To be honest, it's been nice having them back in the house for a little while. And your Aunt was... an interesting woman." He smirked for a moment, the expression darkly amused, but dropped it when his daughter gave him a slightly confused look. "She knows a lot about her craft. We enjoyed having her as a guest and invited her back, should she find herself in the Wood again for whatever reason. She's welcome at our house any time."
Making a small face at the thought of Kazifel's aunt dropping by unannounced at any time, Femi just nodded and kissed Thyme's maned head absently. "That's good to know, Daddy. Thank you for housing her the whole time regardless."

Oh. That was. Most... unfortunate. He was hoping never to see his Aunt again unless it was an announced visit. Well that plan was shot to hell rather quickly along with quite a few other things. "Yes, thank you very much. I'm also glad that my Aunt was... a pleasant guest."
Damn stupid mages. Always needed contacts didn't they? He would keep all of his annoyed sounds and thoughts to himself. The only reason he didn't like mages was because of his father, and he didn't need to inflict the stereotypes on everyone else.... even if most of the time they were true. All right. On to happier thoughts. Let Femi talk to her father and just look happy with the children.
His tail twitched. They had to okay the floor plans today didn't they? Or was that tomorrow? Crap, he was already starting to get in his typical tizzy. One day he was going to have a planner to solve this problem.

Femi stayed to chat with her daddy for another half hour or so and, when they figured out her mother wouldn't be joining them for at least another hour or two, she said her goodbyes and left to go back home with Kazifel and the children. Alphonse hissed sleepily beneath his sheet, spitting out the mouse to make the noise and promptly making a ruckus when he couldn't get it back. It had fallen on the ground and Femi made an 'ick' face at it now that it was covered in dirt. "We'll find you a new one, sweetie, after we meet with the architect," she cooed as she rolled it away with her foot and continued towards the house.
The man knocked on their door about half an hour after they got back, a tall Tulgey horse biped with a short-cropped mane named Wentz. She let Kazifel do most of the talking with him, since he was the one spending all that money to have the house built and he knew more about what they wanted than she did and how it all needed to be set up.
Then, maybe an hour after that, another knock came on the door.

Dealing with the architect was pretty straight forward. The floor plan wasn't that complicated, and had enough rooms for a family seven. The house would even have rooms set off for Femi's dolls and Kazifel's work space.
After that Kazifel had honestly thought that everything else would just be uneventful. However, there was a knock on the door. One that neither of them had been expecting. Kazifel was rather wrapped up in the children since Rosemary absolutely refused to cooperate like her brothers and sisters. Apparently she thought it was funny to try to get into everything if he set her down for less than a minute.
"Who... on earth would be knocking?" He looked to Femi wondering if she had invited someone over. He couldn't think of anyone they were supposed to see. He looked back down to see Rosemary trying to stick her tongue in Parsley's ear. "Oh dear god, stop that Rosemary," he muttered as he picked her up. "I can't wait until you get older."

Femi blinked, confused, and walked towards the door. "I haven't the faintest idea. Daddy and Mother certainly wouldn't be calling, we don't have anything at Lettie's this week, and we just saw Mr. Wentz..." So saying, she opened the door and her eyes widened with pleasure. "Oh, Vren! I hadn't expected to see you at all! It's been ages since you've actually come to visit!"
She flew at the human man in a hug, her biped form taller than his old human form and giving him a happy squeal before she let him go. He laughed and ruffled the top of her head, the white fur soft under his callused fingers. "Femi, dear, it's good to see you again. You had such a beautiful wedding and thank you once more for inviting me. I had an excellent time. Your new husband has quite the relative."
Pausing, he looked behind her and spied Kazifel with the children, which made his eyes light up. "Speaking of... I was wondering if I might talk to the two of you for a moment. It's been quite some time since you last visited me and... well. This was a bit of an unexpected development."
