Taking a chance, Femi carefully pulled away from the little wolf-squirrel curled up against her on the bed, moving slowly so as not to jostle the baby or the blankets she was resting on. She tucked one end up so that it covered her from any drafts while she was away and not snuggled against anyone else, her parents or her siblings. The others continued to be blessedly quiet in their cot.
Sliding off of the bed, she stood and walked around until she was facing Kazifel, who was still sitting. She knelt down and took one of his hands, lightly tugging him down to sit with her on the floor. "I keep forgetting what a horrible person your father was," she said softly, tucking her head under his chin and against his chest. "Mages can be so... eccentric sometimes that I just take everything with a grain of salt, from my parents and Vren to all of their acquaintances. But you have a much worse experience with that than I do. I'm sorry there are so many of them around here... this maybe isn't the best village to be living in if you don't like them, because between my parents and Lord Ghi, others have reason to drop by more often than they otherwise might."
She sighed and closed her eyes, hands moving to pet his back soothingly while she spoke. "We can visit Daddy and Mother less often, if you'd like. Once we have our own house with warm running water and all of those other wonderful things that you paid for, we'll be a lot more self-sufficient. I just... I don't want you to have to be scared, love."

Kazifel didn't protest Femi's comfort. He choked back another sob, his eyes were watering again. He was going to break down soon if he wasn't careful, and he was pretty sure the children wouldn't stay silent if he did it again. He wasn't going to push his luck.
"O-okay," he whimpered. "Okay... I don't want to keep you from seeing your parents though. That would be... that wouldn't be right of me. That wouldn't make me a very good King or much of anything for that matter." He refrained from shuddering. Why couldn't he just forget about the past? Why couldn't he just stop thinking about all those horrible things that had happened? He had a new life, why did he have to desperately cling to the past?
The good things that he remembered he supposed. Before his dad went insane, before his mother died, before Cassiel snapped into a thousand pieces, and Mari. All of those good things would be forgotten with the bad. "I'm sorry this is so complicated Femi," he whimpered.

Femi couldn't recall him being this upset in a long while, but now she wasn't sure if it was because he didn't feel like this before, he had been too exhausted from helping her to take care of the children, or he was just bottling it all up until he couldn't stand it anymore. She seriously hoped that it wasn't the last one, but she just didn't know. She didn't push about a lot of his past because it was so sensitive - she was just happy when he told her things and she could learn more about him and share these things with him.
She pressed her head even more firmly against his chest. "I won't stop visiting them... but we could certainly do it less regularly. That wouldn't be bad. With all the time we had to spend there before and after the children because I was... ill... that's just too much stress to force on you, love. And since I'm not going anywhere without you, we can just make the visits less frequent. Maybe once every other week instead of once every week, or something like that." She shook her head slowly. "Complicated or not, I take you as you come, dearest, and I'm more than happy to do so."

"Thank you..." Kazifel said quietly. He still didn't feel right about anything. He still felt like he was going to cry, he still felt something in the pit of his stomach. He choked back a whimper as he looked down at Femi.
He gave up trying to understand what he was thinking at the moment. he just remained silent and hugged his Queen, his wife, and his one and only true love. This was all he needed to understand at the moment. He wasn't going to give her up no matter what. He closed his eyes and sighed.
He should probably clean up the kitchen or something. Work might make him feel better. Or maybe he could think of something else to do? Plan out some ideas of dolls while the children were quiet. He needed to do something besides constantly think about the bad.
"I... I think I'm going to do some of the dishes, all right?"

Femi wasn't sure what to do or say to make things better so she just nodded and kissed his chin. "Alright, love. I'll... keep watch over the children until you're done." She pulled away and stood up, watching him with a small, worried smile until he left to go into the kitchen. Then she just sighed and crawled back onto the bed to curl up with Sage, content to get a bit of rest now so that she would be able to withstand later that night when they were all awake. Most of them were stubbornly persistent in staying up for most, if not all, of the night. Especially Alphonse, who was currently curled up underneath one of his wings.
Several months later, spring was gone and summer was well on its way, with Femi enjoying as much of it as she possibly could outside and enjoying the sunshine. She'd missed the last summer in its entirety, cooped up in her parents' house and in bed, and she was determined to make the most of this one. The children went with her to the stream, all but Alphonse, and she carefully kept them on the banks while she splashed around in the stream. Sometimes Kazifel would come and Alphonse would stay with Lettie, while other times he would opt to stay home and work on one of the dolls he'd started. He had resumed his hobby with a vengeance after his aunt had delivered the tools, whenever he had time between taking care of the children and spending time with her.
Today was an especially significant day. The children were all with her parents while she and Kazifel went to walk in their new house for the very first time. It had been completed and they would be moving everything over in the coming week, an embarrassingly small amount of items to fill such a lovely, large house. That would be fixed as well.
Femi was so excited to see everything that she could hardly stand it. She clutched at her husband's hand and bounced on her toes, standing on the doorstep.

For reaching 808, you each get one of the following item!
Fanciful Outfit: The garment looks like a rather bland white slip, thin and soft as the material is...it doesn't look like much. Once placed on, however, it will mold and shape itself to the SD's body, becoming the most flattering outfit one could imagine on them within five seconds, from then on, it will take this form when they place it on. The SD will feel a slight tingling sensation as the outfit changes on them and will sense themselves in possession of a new power. Once they are wearing this the SD will gain the ability to cause other SD's clothing to vanish at will. It will simply disappear, and will not reappear for an entire day. They can do this twice per day to any SD they desire and it will cause an entire outfit to vanish.
Enjoy!

(( OOC: X3 *crackup* Oooooh that is a fantastic item. Oh so fantastic. ))
Kazifel inspected the key as Femi bounced on her toes. It had been several long months in the waiting, and they finally had the new house. His tail wagged as he slipped the key into the lock. The door swung open smoothly.
The house was quite empty, but it was going to be theirs. A nice big house all to their own! He looked around the atrium shutting the door quietly behind the pair of them. If the house was laid out like it had been planned, the living room would be on the right, the dining room and kitchen would be on the left. As the house went further back their would be various rooms, a workshop, doll roll, places for storage. Upstairs there would be the bedrooms and the bathroom. A few other rooms that didn't quite have a designated use, one of which Kazifel hoped to make a small library out of.
"Well... what do you think?" The wolf said as he wrapped an arm around Femi.

((Oh god. XD Yes. Nothing has ever screamed 'LANI' as loudly as that item. <3))
Femi flung her arms around Kazifel's middle and let out an earsplitting squeal of delight, the kind that made her mother wince and flatten her ears to her skull and that made her father just laugh at her enjoyment of something.
"I can't believe it! We have our own house, our own big, beautiful house! I never thought I would live anywhere but with my parents or in the little house they got for me, but this is just the most wonderful thing ever! Oh Kazifel, please show me around! I want to see everything!" They would have a nice big kitchen with everything he'd told them to put into it for him to cook with, or a servant if they eventually got one if he ever got more absorbed with his dollmaking when the children were older. They would have a proper dining room, so they wouldn't have to sit on the floor around the fireplace or on the bed or on a stool she had to move from her dolls.
And her dolls would have their very own place, not something she had to take from something else! A room just for them! A nice big one too, from what her love had told her, because she had quite the collection, taking up two rooms in her current house.
There were bedrooms, one for her and Kazifel and one for the boys and one for the girls, although they wouldn't be separated from their little cot pile until they were older.

Kazifel didn't mind her joy. He thought it was terribly cute of her to do. "Well, I'll show you everything, but it's not much yet. Not having furniture in here makes it nothing more than a bunch of empty rooms with the exception of the kitchen."
He showed her all the rooms that she requested though. How could he refuse to do something as simple as that for his Queen? He hummed happily as they went along, and decided to save the doll room for last. Once she had seen everything else, they made their ways downstairs and slipped into the proper room.
It was a fairly large room. Some shelves had already been installed, but beyond that the room was a large expanse of cleanly painted floor and walls. Kazifel grinned despite his thoughts of how much work moving all of Femi's dolls was going to be.
