"But they're our empty rooms," Femi said with a laugh, looping her arm around his to follow him in. She was more excited with each room she saw, able to imagine what it would look like once they'd properly moved in and turned this place into a home. His humming made the whole thing even better, proof that he was in as good a mood as she was.
When they got to the room where her dolls were going to live, she couldn't help but bounce up and down in excitement once or twice like a little kid and laugh in delight. "Kazifel, this is perfect! This is so perfect! It's big enough that all of them are going to be able to fit, and look, oh, the shelves are wonderful! They'll have proper places to be instead of wherever I had room and could prop or stand or place them! Ah, I'm so happy!"
Once again, she flung herself at him, this time wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him in delight. He had done this! He had made this possible!

Kazifel was quite surprised by the bouncing. Doubly surprised when he found arms wrapped around him and Femi kissing him. Well, she liked the room more than he thought she would. He kissed her back, blushing slightly under his fur.
"I'm glad you like it! I was worried that it wouldn't be good enough for all of your dolls," He said before hugging her properly in return. "It's going to be quite a project moving them all in here."
She had more dolls than he had kitchen supplies and tools put together. They would probably be the most difficult things to move. He repressed a sigh at the thought. They were getting a big house with hot water, he really couldn't complain about moving all of Femi's dolls into the house.
He looked at her with a grin plastered on his face, "I suppose we should start getting ready for moving things in, eh?"

"Oh no, love, it's going to be perfect, With a few tables and chairs in here, there should be plenty of room, and I'll even have room to play with them in here if I want instead of carrying them somewhere else in the house. Which I'll probably end up doing a lot of the time, but still." His smile made Femi's widen and she buried her head against his neck. He smelled so good, especially when he was happy and wearing his fur. She'd come to absolutely adore the smell of wolf and half the time she smelled as much like one as he did, just from constant contact.
After a minute or two, she pulled away with a sigh to look back up at him. "Yes, I suppose we can start getting things ready to move. The builders have offered to help us get the larger pieces out, like the bed once we dismantle it, so that should save us some heavy lifting. It's just getting everything into boxes, all the dolls and tools and whatnot, that's going to take a while. Oh dark, my storage room." She groaned at the thought and leaned against him again.

Oh right. Her storage room. He had completely forgotten about that, hadn't he? The wolf sighed as his ears twitched. "No point in complaining about it, we need to do it rather than stand around and think about it."
He took Femi's hand and led her out of their house. Theirs! It felt wonderful to own something that wasn't tiny and cramped. He could almost sing out of joy, but there was quite a bit of work to do beforehand. He needed to focus on moving before he did anything else.
When they were back in the little cottage Femi used to call hers, Kazifel fiddled around with all of the boxes, giving a few to Femi. "I'll start taking the bed frame apart, and I suppose you can start packing some of your dolls. We'll save the storage room and kitchen for last, since I have a specific way of packing the kitchen supplies and the storage room is going to be... a challenge."
He just hoped that Femi could pack her dolls in an orderly manner. Oh this was going to be interesting.

Femi took a few of the boxes and nodded, smiling. "Don't worry, love, I'll pack my darlings away quickly so that we can start getting the linens and things together. We can probably move them in ahead of everything else since they won't take up space anywhere else once they're set up and then we can use these rooms in here to hold other things out of the way. For the storage room, we'll probably need it."
Of course, when the squirrel said she would pack the dolls away 'quickly', she meant that she would pack them away 'carefully'. She didn't want a single hair damaged on any of her precious dolls. That meant that it would easily take her the rest of the day to get them in order, and likely most of the night. She was so glad that her parents had agreed to watch the children while they did the moving.
The construction people would be by the next day to help them carry anything heavy, which meant that getting things in order tonight was a priority.

Heavy things, there were quite a few. The wolf hurried to pack the heaviest things after taking apart the bed frame. At least that wasn't difficult now that he had tools for everything. He never thought he would be thankful for Aunt Josephine, but lo and behold, he was. Femi was taking her sweet time with her dolls, which was fine with him. Some of those boxes though would have to be moved tomorrow. He couldn't imagine some of the weight without using his ability.
But packing took a good deal of the evening and then the night. When all the properly weighted stuff was packed away, Kazifel took the opportunity to pass out on the mattress. That would have to be moved tomorrow too, wouldn't it? He sighed. Until tomorrow then.
Morning came and Kazifel reluctantly got up. Without the kids he could actually get a full nights sleep if he woke up early or not. With a sigh he got ready to make breakfast. Hence the kitchen supplies being packed last on the laundry list of things.

By the time she finished packing away the last doll, it was ridiculously late and Femi was yawning, toddling off to bed to collapse on the mattress next to her Kazifel. He made a better blanket than anything else would anyway, since he was more of a heat generator rather than an insulator. Then she told her head to just shut up and let her sleep. She was tired enough that it obliged.
Morning came much earlier than she would have liked but with Kazifel moving around and heading into the kitchen, she followed suit with a small groan. At least she wasn't waking up to the sound of crying. That was a nice change of pace. Even the whimpering first thing in the morning was just awful. Now they would be in a different room, right next door, so that they could hear them but not at full volume. It would be a lot less painful, she imagined. She was so looking forward to it.
That day they needed to tackle the storage room. With a small groan, she ate her breakfast and ruffled her husband's fur a little bit in thanks, kissing his cheek. "Tonight the bed will be moved in and we don't have to go and get the children for two more days. Won't that be nice?" Then she went off to start grabbing more boxes.

Kazifel grinned at the mention of moving the bed. Oh there was fun to be had after everything was one. His tail wagged a bit as he finished his breakfast and thought about what was to come.
First they had to take care of the storage closet. He stared at the door for a few moments before slipping it open. It was a disaster area inside. He gave a small whimper before actually going in.
So much stuff in one place should be horrible illegal. Once they had the new house properly organized he was definitely going to make sure the storage rooms remained properly sorted, along with the pantries and so forth. The same organization skills he used so long ago when he had to play homemaker for his younger sister he would use to keep the house neat.
Just getting through these mountains of fabric, pattern paper and a variety of other things was a nightmare. "When were the movers supposed to be here again?"

Femi started grabbing and rolling fabrics, getting them all together and into one of the boxes she'd brought. "They said they would be here in the early afternoon after lunchtime so we have the whole morning to get stuff together. I can always work on this while you get stuff in the kitchen together, since I know you have a special way you want to do that and I won't really be able to help so much. Besides, I know just about everything that's in this room."
The movers did arrive around one in the afternoon and after a few minutes' pleasantries they started picking up pieces of the bed and carting them off to the house. The squirrel dropped what she was doing in the mostly-cleared room to hurry and get one of her doll boxes. She wasn't sure if she could let anyone else carry some of them and before they tried, she just wanted to have them moved herself.
