“Ah, your coworker’s name is Samantha. She is not going to be able to come in today, she has taken some leave so I am here mostly running the shop during the day, currently.” He was okay with the situation though he would prefer if he would be relieved from his duty station some time soon. Ah well, he wanted the business he was more then willing to suffer a little more for it.
He smiled slightly at her excitement over her pay. It was not too high a pay, not if the person deserved it anyway. She could probably use the extra coins in her pocket.
“Asher there,” He nodded towards where the female would see no one standing at counter, “lives above in the rooms on the second floor. He helps out around the shop for some extra coins. He is something of a little poltergeist, so be careful of his pranks.” He gave a small chuckle at the memories of when he was first opening shop and had the lad act like a ghost to scare off other contenders.
“Whenever you are done eating I can show you around if you like.” He took a sip from his own coffee.

"Samantha?" Vessatha repeated, then nodded. "What's she on leave for, if I can ask?" The ferret was curious, mostly. As much as she wanted to work as much as she could, that didn't mean she wanted to be working days for this other girl. Vessa doubted Aderlass would hire a slacker, but you never knew.
"Poltergeist? Oh, don't worry. I've given out some good pranks in my day, I'll be fine." She said with a grin. The ferret wasn't usually too mischevious, but when the mood struck her, it struck hard. Being pranked tended to bring it on.
"Oh, sure, I'm done now." She finished up the last pastry and swallowed the last of her (very good) coffee, then stood up. "Ready when you are."
Truth to be told, Vessatha was slightly nervous. He had laid out some generalities of what she'd be doing, but hadn't gone into details. She'd never done more than taken orders, so wasn't sure exactly how qualified she was for the job.. but if he didn't care, she didn't care.

“She has taken some sick leave but has ever intent of coming back by the end of this week. he replied to her question. “It is good to hear that you will give the lad for his money. He needs someone to challenge him sometimes.” Nodding he stood up following her lead.
“For this job all you will mainly be doing is handling customers in the front. Answering questions they may have over the jewelry or items and dealing with money when and if they decide to purchase anything, etcetera. Most days I will try to be here or at least stop by for half the day so if you have any questions do not feel afraid to ask me or any of the other workers. If you will follow me…”
He led her into the hallway. Pointing to the other two rooms that occupied the downstairs backrooms he informed her that one was an office for his worker that took over while he was away, the other one a storage room for their supplies, as well as other items to be put on display, and that it was to be kept at all times.
“Over there is a small kitchenette.” The kitchenette held a small storage of food for the employees and a small icebox that contained some assorted drinks. “The coffee pot should always have coffee in it; feel free to drink some at anytime. If you take the last of it make sure you make more.” Pointing to the stairs he informed her that they led to the rooms above. “Right now there is one spare bedroom, so if you end up waiting late or need somewhere to spend a night or two it is there. Just let me know if you are going to actually live here, alrigh?”

"Okay," Vessatha replied simply, with a nod. The ferret didn't get sick too often herself, but had seen plently of people wracked with coughs and the like to be sympathetic.
Handling customers she could do, that wasn't a problem. But answering questions? "I'm assuming I'll get some kind of walk-through on the jewelry and such? I'm afraid I'm not very knowledgeable in that area." Vessatha asked. Really, the most jewelry she had was a few pieces her mother had left to her when she was very small.. and she had no idea what they were, let alone how to sell them to someone else. They were pretty. That was the extent of her knowledge.
The ferret followed him into the hallway. She glanced into the rooms and nodded where appropriate, but otherwise didn't comment.
Ooh, food. Vessa managed to tamper her reaction to the food down to a brief glimmer in her eyes, but she was very happy to see she' dbe able to snack if she needed to. It wasn't her fault she was hungry a lot! "I'll try, but I've never made coffee.."
As he showed her the spare bedroom, she paused. That was almost too convenient, but she was going to pounce on it. "Actually.. could I have use of the room for a few days, at least until I can find my own apartment?"

“We will train you on what you will need to know for the jewelry so you do not have to worry yourself.” He gave her a smile. “We also keep a written card on each of the pieces we have about their maker and all that other usefully information.”
When she mentioned that she had never made coffee before, and thus did not know how, a little part of him cringed at the fact that she was lacking knowledge on the wonderful drink. “We shall have to teach you then.” he replied showing none of the emotional pain her discloser had caused him. “I will have Asher show you at a later date, so do not worry yourself over that for now.”
As for the rooms, you are more then welcome to stay for one until you are able to get yourself situated. Pleas do not take my kindness as anything other then it is meant to be. I just hate to see anyone suffer.” When he said those words a shadow passed over his eyes which he quickly hid.
“Come let me show you the front of the shop.”

Rai stepped through the door to the jewelry gallery and shop, purposefully in bipedal form. His body was swathed beneath a dark blue cloak, a rather customary adornment for the stallion, as well as his hat and whip coiled at his side. His ears swivelled around swiftly as his grey-green eyes went to the area behind the counter where Asher's form could usually be found. "Well, well, Asher; 'looking' a lot better this time. Flour is not necessarily the best colour for you." He smirked slightly, especially when the fox reappeared where the stallion expected, but any further teasing was staved off by the office door swinging open to emit two Cards. "Aderlass," the stallion greeted his friend with an easy smile. The Morganberry mouse, however, was likely to know the Marshdweller to catch the air of barely contained excitement nearly vibrating off of the other man. (( xD;;; Thanks for the reminder, Nat, and sorry, Greenie.. xD;; ))

Vessatha let out the air she had been holding in one quick breath--that was a relief. It would suck to have to make up things about jewelry. For one, the customers probably knew more than she did and would therefore know when she was lying, which would probably get her fired because she kept losing customers to more experienced salesladies. Though, Aderlass did seem nicer than that..
The mouse seemed to pause when she mentioned her lack of coffee expertise, but moved on so quickly that she didn't take much note of it. "Okay."
"Thank you, I really appreciate it." Vessatha replied gratefully. The room looked much more comfortable than the park did.. but then again, anything would be more inviting than a park bench. Those things were hard!
The ferret absently followed him to the front of the shop, but stopped at the doorway when she heard the chime of someone entering. Aderlass continued on, but she merely remained where she was, watching the bipedal stallion. Vessatha had absolutely no idea who he was.. but he was wearing a cloak and looked scary. Like, really scary. (Bipedals still creeped her out at this point, though Aderlass hadn't.. perhaps because he was a tad shorter..) So she stayed where she was, mostly frozen, and didn't say anything.

He continued on through the door, oblivious to the fact that the ferret had stopped at the doorway behind him. He only spotted his friend after the horse had called out his name in greeting.
“Well, well, well, if it is not Whip, himself. Back from the Court once again I see. How did everything go?” He made his way over to where his friend stood, uncovered paw held out. It really was a lovely thing this new power to control his hand’s temperature was. He could sense that the equine had some pent up excitement, though both males – Whip more so – would be too proud to come outright and say anything. It got rid of all the fun of the secret.
He eyed the horse, taking in the usual dark blue cloak as well as his hat and whip coiled at his side. There was nothing completely physically different about his friend; thought the man did seem to have a different air round himself. He wondered what it was that had his friend in such high spirits. Whip had not mentioned much before leaving for the Court again, especially no plans or events that the equine wanted to happen.

Rai was grinning more than usual and couldn't seem to stop. He strode forward to offer the other man a hand as well, clasping the mouse's bared paw without hesitation; he well trusted his friend. As always, their handshake had strength within it, but this wasn't any sort of 'mine is bigger than yours' contest; just the meeting of too close friends.
"There's nowhere better to be than the Court of Hearts," the stallion replied easily, the teasing coming back into his voice. "You ready to try joining again?" An old joke for them; Aderlass was far too proud of being a Club. Still, even this particular gambit could not keep the man's attention for long and he reached into his bag to pull out a sheet of paper. "Brought something for you." At the other man's questioning look, Rai explained with a widening grin, "It's an change of address form."
The paper detailed the new location of his (now much larger) suite and a careful glance would likely tell the Morganberry that the new suite was, indeed, a Queen suite.

Shaking hands he felt the familiar grip of an equal as a friend rather then a rival. He grinned as Whip started their old joke. “I will try joining your Court again when you admit your undying love for the Lady Mnemosyne.” he teased back.
“Wot is this that you have for me?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at the horse when he held out the piece of paper. Taking the ‘change of address form’, he first scanned it and then when his eyes feel over various words such as, Congratulations . . . Queen . . . Suit, he went back to the top and re-read the letter paying more attention to it.
“Well, I’ll be your children’s uncle. . . This is great news! Congratulations! You have been working hard for this, I am really glad to see that you finally made it. How does it feel?” He was extremely happy of his friend’s news. Whip had been working for this goal for a long time. “I just put in for my King, you know?” He whispered the last part as if it was a secret between the two of them.
