Shinrai gave a low, amused and slightly annoyed snort at that, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. His normally quick tongue, however, was bridled by his excitement that the mouse read the letter, so he said nothing. His smile was still growing, however, especially when he saw the other man's yellow eyes skip from the bottom of the page back up to the top and begin a much slower read of the paper.
The stallion inclined his head at the thanks, his pleasure still evident. Of all the people to tell, Aderlass had been the first. Elias would have been, but the Marsh was a bit far away; so the equine Marshdweller had been forced to send a letter. Still, the mouse's reaction was gratifying and his news exciting.
"Congratulations to you as well," the stallion replied happily, clapping a hand down on the mouse's shoulder. "The Court of Clubs is very fortunate to have you."

((Ok, I think that's all cleared up here. If there are any further problems, please poke me guys <3 I swear I don't bite and that I'll listen to both sides of any story <3 Oh and Sera? Please remember to post a picture with the new characters joining a thread, otherwise it's hard for people unfamiliar with the character to get a clear Idea of who they're playing with. “As I am sure they well know.” He nodded his head in a satisfied manner. He had been aiming for a while to raise rank in the Courts and finally reach his ultimate goal; this gallery-shop was just a fancy he had had since he had been an apprentice. It was about time he had been able to gain enough experience to apply for his Kinghood, though he would not admit it, he was a little nervous about how the meeting with the Queen would go.
He was really happy to see that his friend had also been able to accomplish his goal. He remembered a meeting the two of them had had where they both had mentioned a little about the plots they had for their future, that one fine day, well evening, at the pub.
“Congratulations again, my friend. This is something to celebrate, why do you and I not go drinking this evening? Nothing like getting drunk to celebrate.”

The stallion couldn't help but continue to smile widely at his friend as he nodded in agreement. "Well, of course that's the best way to celebrate and I would love to do that this evening." Another question occurred to him and he asked, "Where's the brood today? Do the girls or Aiolos have them?" He glanced around on the off chance that they were here and quickly mentally recalled himself as he finally noticed the other in the room.
"Ah, I appear to have interrupted your business. A new artist, perhaps?" He stepped around the smaller man to extend a hand to the brightly coloured ferret. "Shinrai," he offered easily to the smaller woman as grey-green eyes scanned her curiously. If she was an artist, she was a starving artist. It wasn't that she was dirty, but she had a slightly unkempt air to her that didn't lend credence to a stable home environment; wasn't that just like Aderlass, though. The man seemed to draw strays.

After a few minutes of (what she deemed to be) idle conversation between the two of them, Vessatha relaxed her posture.. if he was going to try to intimidate her, he wouldn't be doing it right away, at least. She slowly slunk around the front of the counters, still studiously avoiding coming coming too close, in order to examine some of the objects in the front display cases. She was there for a good five minutes or so before they stopped talking--but really, it could have been any length of time, since she'd gotten completely obsorbed by a very shiny.. thing.
Vessa wasn't sure what it was, really, but it was pretty.
The stallion's words managed to penetrate her haze of 'Ooh, shiny!' after a few seconds, and she whirled around to face him, her eyes wide. He'd startled her enough that her suspiciousness of him was pushed back a bit--enough, at least, that she shook his hand without thinking about it.
"N-no, no." The ferret started out stuttering, but forced her voice to level calmly. "I'm not an artist. I'm a new shopkeeper. Vessatha."

“Alright then, it’s a date.” He nodded his head. It would be good to go out drinking with his friend again. It had been a while. “The ‘brood’ are with the girls the last time I checked, though at this hour they should probably be getting up to cause another day of havoc. Minh mentioned something about bringing my two by later. I do no think anyone ever knows wot that Mnem is up to though.” He replied easily. After his reply his friend seemed to become distracted by something.
He turned to see what had distracted his friend’s attention. It would not be the fox, Asher, his friend already knew the fox well enough and no new customer had walked in. Turning around his gaze fell on the ferret.
“Ah, sorry about that Vessatha.” He looked at her a little sheepishly, feeling guilty about having forgotten about her for a moment there. “Vessatha, this is my good friend Whip, well Shinrai is proper here is it not? Whip, this is my newest employee, Vessatha. This is her first day so I was showing her the ropes of the shop.” He explained to his friend.

Maji fiddled with her hands as she and her son made their way to the shop she had been instructed to find. She vaguely remembered the way and she stopped and hesitated. Could she really do this? Would it all be okay? Maybe she could turn back and tell Ashwin that things did not work out. No she could not do that, he was already getting impatient with her. Job after job after job just had not worked out and this was a last resort other wise she would began to feel the pressure even more from her consort than she already did. Aeron looked up at his mother and rubbed his head on her leg and caused her to snap out of her thinkings. "Mama? Its okay Mama." he smiled up at her. He always was worried about her. Ashwin never said anything bad about her but he knew that she was worried about something. Maji looked down at her son and smiled as she ruffled his fur and feathered crest and took a deep breath as she continued down the street and arrived at the door of the shop. She heard voices inside but knocked any way on the door and waited for some one to answer.

Rai nodded as they explained who she was and her presence there. Yes, he'd been correct; Aderlass was certainly going out of his way to help others. It was a pleasure to see and be a part of, albeit it was rather a small role. He was only an investor, helping with the costs of the business and wot not. Aderlass actually ran the thing and was fully and completely in charge of it.
A knock at the door caught his attention and the stallion sent Aderlass a questioning look before heading to open it himself. He blinked in surprise at the familiar person and he held the door open for her and her child. "Maji, Aeron. Please come in. Wot brings you out here?"
As usual it was a pleasure to see the beautiful woman, and the man continued to find himself surprised by just how attractive she was.

Vessatha merely nodded once more to Aderlass and Shinrai, having nothing further to say at the moment. So the ferret hung back and resumed eyeing up the pretties on the shelf, though this time she kept a more watchful ear on their conversation just in case it took another abrupt turn back to herself.. she didn't appreciate being startled, though it wasn't their fault.
When the bells chimed for the door yet again she glanced up, and then did a double take. Who was that, and why must she be so pretty? Vessa noted that Shinrai, too, immediately paid attention to her, but shrugged it off, as it appeared they knew each other. The child was adorable as well. The shop was quickly becoming slightly too crowded for Vessatha, and since it appeared that she was no longer needed for anything else, she approached Aderlass quickly before he got involved. "When would you like me to start?" She inquired softly. "I'm afraid I need to leave for a bit, I have some errands to run, if that's okay."
