Having finished the first steps of his experiments, the Corvie man retreated from the cage and locked the door behind him. He eyed the stallion thoughtfully before picking up his chatter again in an inane manner. It was a short term tranq, which was good because he needed to ask his subject some questions about how he was feeling.
He rather hoped to isolate the strangeness in the young stallion's proclaimed story. The teenager was certainly annoying and harsh, but he wasn't certain if that meant anything beyond the boy lacked some serious parental guidance. He hoped that there was something off on the boy genetically. That would be a great deal more fun for him. He quickly finished his notes.
Eir groggily regained control of his mind and threw a half-hearted snarl at his captor. "Wot did you do to me?" he asked angrily.
The Corvie simply smiled. "How are you feeling?"

Their scientist looked, for a moment, to be falling under the sway of Tosiek's charm--her gaze softened and her expression turned to a contemplative frown, like Tosiek was making a series of very good points and she was considering them. The force of logic, however, soon conquered the force of Tosiek's magical charisma. Thalia considered throwing some of her own Diamond charm into the pool, but really, if Tosiek's blatant mendacity wasn't working, what chance did hers have?
The woman tutted at them. She displayed a remarkably perky kind of disappointment and anger. "Naughty, naughty children. I'm going to have to build you a better cage. I can't have my subjects attempting escape every day; bad for the scientific process."
Thalia really didn't plan on giving her the opportunity to stick them in a more child-proof cage. She glanced at Tosiek. "Time to run!"

What sort of option did he have? If Thalia was running, so was he. There wasn't really any hope other than that. He leapt out of the cage and charged the woman; more than willing to make at target of himself so the girl could get away.
Entirely on accident, he slammed into a cabinet and set another set of magical pops and fizzes going on as all sorts of vials and powders fell into each other and mixed in fashions they certainly weren't meant to exhibit.
Oh, snot, snot! Was there something tingling on his wing or was that just his imagination? He didn't dare take a chance on checking now; if his wing was about to fall off he didn't want to see it. Well, assuming he could even see that far over his back. Still he plowed towards the scientist, flailing his wings even as he went charging by, trying to cause as much of a distraction as he possibly could.

"I'm feeling ticked off and annoyed," the young stallion replied, trying to regain his feet. He was shaky on his yellow hooves and that just made him angrier. "Let my out of this freakin' cage."
The Corvie tut-tutted under his breath and waved a magnanimous hand towards the horse. "Now, now, please work with me here. If I don't have the proper formula, I'll need a new test subject."
Eir's pale eyes bore into the scientist at those words, or, more specifically, at the insinuation behind those words. The Corvie gave him a bright, encouraging smile.
"Now then, are you in any discomfort? Any pain right now?"
"I'm discomforted being in this bloody cage," Eir retorted, ears flattening against his head. As soon as he could, he was going to break this pispard's neck.
"No, no, are you physically in any pain?" The Corvie pressed again and the stallion's head came up warily before he quickly took stock of himself.

Tosiek was going to sacrifice himself to the whims of the mad scientist to save her! She didn't know why it seemed so adorable and warm-fuzzies-making that he would do that, but Thalia's brain-wires had always been crossed a little oddly and she just attributed the sentiment to that.
As sweetly gallant as that was, however, she had no particular desire to run away while Tosiek got recaptured or blown up or stabbed to death by their captor. She threw more stuff at the mess of materials that Tosiek had made.
Their scientist, in the mean-time, looked like a terrified rodent being dive-bombed by a hawk. She leaped out of the way of Tosiek's charge, but managed only to slam into her own desk. Thalia heard a sickening crack as the woman's head struck the metal, and the scientist began woozily staggering about the room, flailing in the general direction of the exit like a drunk.
It was probably a good idea to get gone quick, too. The mess of chemicals on the floor was bubbling and expanding and frothing threateningly, emitting hissing little streams of smoke.
"Tosiek," Thalia said. "Um, Tosiek, we reeeeaaaally need to go."

Eir was relieved to discover he wasn't in physical pain so much as continued physical discomfort. Not that he couldn't block it, if he so desired, but it was like a rash under his skin rather than an actual problem. Of course, now that he was thinking about it, he wanted to itch. The rash feeling was centered quite dramatically on his hindquarters; likely where the man had rubbed wotever was in that vial across him.
The injection site was swollen slightly, but it wasn't bothering the stallion; at least not yet. Eir bared his teeth angrily at the Corvistowneian. He needed to get out. How was he going to get out of this freaking cage?
He twitched his hide, turning his head over his back to regard the itchy part of his hindquarters. "It feels like I have a burning rash," he finally said, and twitched his tail as though to make his point.

Coughing from experimental smoke, Tosiek's ears twisted towards Thalia's voice and he whirled to crash her direction. He slammed into a table next and more petri dishes slipped off onto the floor. There was glass everywhere and the smoke was acrid and harsh on his lungs and eyes.
"Go, go, Thalia, run!" Tosiek yelled it even as he blundered towards the door. If she didn't get out, this was all for naught and he couldn't stand that. He thought he saw her dark form ahead of him as he coughed again and tried to blink some of the tears from his abused eyes. They were strained and now smoke-ridden. He stumbled out into a hallway that led to stairs and he blinked some more, trying to figure out where Thalia was so he could follow her. Preferably follow her to freedom. If only he could see!
(( Sorry, dear, our power went out. xD;;; ))

"Come on, Tosiek!" she called. She had gotten just outside the room and was in the process of sending her tentacles in for a little reconnaissance work, because she certainly wasn't going to leave him to smoky doom. It was one of the many times she was very thankful she could extend them--as soon as she saw Tosiek's form in the haze, she hooked a tentacle around him and pulled him forward, yanking him forcefully along behind her.
They had to get clear of this whole place before something unfortunate happened, so she hauled ass up stairs, using her spare appendages to half-drag, half-carry her winged companion. There was a trap door at the very top, through the ceiling, and Thalia shoved it open and quickly pulled herself and Tosiek through.
Just in time, too. Thalia had barely flung them both to the floor when the ground trembled beneath their feet. She heard a whoosh of something, a roar, and then a poof of flame and billowing cloud of smoke. It saddened her a bit that this was almost certainly fatal for their scientist. She hoped the woman was still alive somehow and could treat whatever hideous burned she had acquired.
She looked at Tosiek with concern. "Are you okay?"

"Oh, good, good!" The Corvie said excitedly. "Please, continue! Continue!"
The man was definitely certifiable, but it didn't really matter because they were evidently in the CITY of Crazies. He was just stuck for the ride. For now. "Well," Eir continued slowly, thoughtfully. "It feels. . ." he bumped his hindquarters sideways as though it was bothered again. "Oh, man. . . it's starting to burn. Ahh, it's burning a lot! Wot'd you do?" He made his words come faster and faster, though it felt a bit too much like an act. He gave a crowhop, tail tucked tight to his buttocks. "It burns! Get it off! Get it off!"
The Corvie was writing frantically in excitement. Eir kept the act up for just a little longer, then he collapsed to the ground, eyes closed.
"Wake up," the Corvie called, though there was more eagerness than anything else in his voice.

Something wrapped around him and jerked him in a very particular direction and he could only hope that it was Thalia's doing and not that crazy scientist. He was supremely relieved, then, when he discovered it was a tentacle and it had pulled him pulled him to the girl. They weren't done, however, and he was helped along-- a bit haphazardly-- through a trapdoor in the ceiling -- the ceiling?-- and the next thing he knew, they were shakingly standing in what appeared to be a small closet-like room off of a kitchen.
"I'm fine," he answered in a worried tone that said he obviously didn't care the least how he was. "Are you all right? Did you get hurt?" He squinted at her, craning his head forward to try to ascertain her well-being. She still looked a great deal like a black blob with spears of colour. He didn't see any red that would, supposedly, indicate blood.
