Dilis had never been to Capital City before, she was too afraid to leave her house most times to venture to other places. These days it seemed like she was scared of her own shadow. As she walked around, gazing at all the passerby she noticed a nice secluded spot for which she could sit and gather her thoughts. She didn't really know anyone so being alone was natural to her. She pulled out her favorite book and read the earmarked page, “The time has come,” the Walrus said, “To talk of many things: Of shoes—and ships—and sealing wax— Of cabbages—and kings—as she read she could have swore someone was looking at her but of course, she always thought that. Silly Dilis, why would someone be staring at you? She pushed the thought away and continued to read, hoping someone really did notice her and would steal her attention away.

The Avington had indeed caught someone's notice. A rather odd figure who had been lingering just out of way of the city proper. She was really coming to find she disliked the big bustling cities full of loud people who just...couldn't seem to keep their eyes to themselves. Was she really such a wonder? Well, yes, she was...but still! Sighing heavily, Parvana had drifted away from the street and toward the shade of the trees where Dilis rested as well. She seemed a laid-back sort, all caught up in her book. Perhaps she'd give Dilis someone to ease her anxiety with...or another companion into the bustling shops. Rocky had proved quite helpful by keeping her side in Corvistowne, after all, and perhaps she would not have to keep using people as emotional crutches as she started to go out more. "Good afternoon! Would you mind a bit of company?"Most failed to notice her accent, an unusual splicing between proper southern and typical Corvistownian. Blame her parents, for their odd reclusive upbringing, but it had made her quite the strange example of the typical 'Southern Belle'. Her mother had always said that such a manner was quite fitting of a lovely butterfly and Parvana could not deny the truth of it.

"Good afternoon! Would you mind a bit of company?"
The voice startled Dilis, she hadn't expected anyone to see her let alone speak to her. She looked up and saw an odd sort of butterfly with intriguing colors. Of course to her anything was intriguing or different as her father had always made her stay in the house.
"Su-sure, come sit. I'm Dilis, what's your name?
She couldn't believe she had so brazenly spoken to another but she'd done it and she felt slightly proud of herself. Her household had certain rules which included Don't talk to anyone while you're in a public place She had always hated that rule but she understood why her father had enforced it. She moved over to make room for this strange creature that had been kind to her so far. Normally she would be terrified and run away but somehow the butterfly seemed the trustworthy sort.

Parvana flashed a warm smile when she was given the invitation to join the shy little Avington beneath the tree. At least she was garunteed not to be one of those overly loud sort that left Parvana longing for her home. At least, Avingtons weren't generally known for being the loud sort, what with their rather secretive natures and all.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Dilis, I'm Parvana."
Leaning back against the tree, she kept her long wings neatly tucked out of the way, and focused upon the blue sky above. She had time to spare for now, but she would have to venture into town eventually. Perhaps Dilis had some business there as well, and they could go in together.
"What brings you to the Capital, if you don't mind my asking?"
This was Parvana's first time leaving Corvistowne in well... As long as she could remember, to be quite frankly honest. It was more than a little unnerving, but exciting as well. She could come to enjoy these little outings!

Parvana... She seemed nice enough. Dilis had decided to give her the benefit of the doubt as she had no friends and didn't know of any family.
"Well... Dad said I had to get out and get some fresh air but I think he just wanted some alone time. He does that sometimes when he thinks of Mom, she passed away shortly after I was born. Since I'm here I thought I might go window-shopping and get something to eat. Perhaps if you weren't too busy you might want to join me? I saw the most beautiful dress in a store over there".
Look at me, talking to people and making friends already. Dad was wrong, I'm something. If I were nothing, Parvana wouldn't be talking to me... would she?
Dilis had a tendency to ramble when she was nervous and this was definitely considered one of those times. She looked thoughtfully at Parvana trying to find her angle, but realizing she had none, she pushed the thought away. Gesturing to the shop-front she had been secretly gazing at, she kind of hoped she could have company.

As Dilis began to ramble, Parvana couldn't help but smile...were it not for that small mention of her mother's death. It dampened her smile ever so slightly and caused the butterfly to bow her head in respect. The recent passing of her parents was quite fresh in her mind and the sweet insect couldn't help but feel for Dilis. Even if her parents' passing had been their own fault, what with it being a laboratory fire and all, and that their deaths had, in turn, caused Parvana to gain the freedom she'd always wanted.
Or perhaps she only thought she wanted it. Freedom had turned out to be quite a frightening adventure for her.
"I'm sorry to hear about your mother, my parents died just recently..." She gave a sad little smile and then shook it off as her attention shifted from the past and back into the present. Shopping now! A much better topic, really. "O I'm not busy at all." She chimed up lightly, her tone regaining is prior cheeriness. "I've just come to run some errands myself, and possibly meet up with an old family friend, but that isn't until later. I'd be more than happy to window shop with you while I pass the time."

"I'm sorry to hear about your mother, my parents died just recently..." Parvana had said. Dilis felt for her new friend but she didn't want to press her for fear she might make her feel worse. She knew what it felt like to suffer a lose. But, she would think about that later, for now she had someone to explore Capital City with and that made her smile.
Walking towards the streets, Dilis struck up the nerve to start conversation.
"So, you mentioned you had errands? What did you come to town for? Is this mostly a trip for business or leisure? I personally like coming here because it's quieter than where I'm fro-" Dilis was cut short when she saw the dress she had been admiring.
She stopped and peered at the dress, not realizing she had stopped in the middle of her sentence. The dress was a beautiful kelly green gown with a corset top and she had been staring at it for weeks. She kept wanting to go in and buy it but she knew her father would never let her. He was very strict and would not allow her such frivolous things. He believed that you should only purchase that which you need and leave the rest to fools. She however, loved beautiful things and hoped one day she would get everything she wanted.
She had hoped her whole life that one day she would move up her rank and join the courts, she ached to be noble. And by god, she was going to get there no matter the cost.

As Dilis struck up conversation, Parvana nodded thoughtfully and took in her words. Quieter here than in her 'home'? Surely she didn't mean Avington? Parvana had always heard that it was a quiet, serene place...very secretive, as was the way of all Avingtons.
"An old family friend has some supplies for me to pick up, but really it'll probably turn more leisure than business. We haven't spoken in a while, so I'm sure he'd like to catch up... He's always been quite chatty."
Parvana laughed a little, shaking her head before she noticed Dilis had cut off to peer at something. Tilting her bright eyes up, the butterfly tilted her head to the side and studied the fancy dress.
"Oh! Is that the dress you were interested in? It's quite lovely." It was a bit extravagant for Parvana's tastes, considering she'd always been a rather simplistic soul, but it was still a lovely dress; Parvana could see why she liked it so. "Do you have a bipedal form, Dilis? I bet it would look wonderful!"

"Awh, How lovely it is to have friends. Tell me more of this friend of yours?"
Dilis tried to pay attention to what Parvana was saying but the dress she saw broke her heart.
It's so elegant, there is no way Dad would ever let me have it... but still I wonder...
Dilis was so struck by the gown, that she had not noticed Parvana was not with her until she spoke.
"Do you have a bipedal form, Dilis? I bet it would look wonderful!"
Dilis knocked herself out of her daydream to recognize the question. She had a tendency to drift off, most times it was because Dad was yelling at her again. She didn't want to seem rude to Parvana though, she liked her and hoped to get to know her better.
"Well, thank you but no I don't have anything like that. Someday..." Dilis sighed.

[OOC: Just so you guys know for point stuffs, Severus is only a Jack right now ^^;] It had been a long time since he had visited his mother, and now that all the children were growing up and leaving, he was getting letters more and more from her. There was a secret part of him that pitied her, after all, the children had been with her for quite some time now, and she had obviously gotten used to their company and annoyances. It was probably getting a little quiet for her. He knew though, that in the end she would love regainning the quiet. It would just take time. But with Vertumnus having left for greener pastures, that only left her with his two sisters now. He arranged to go to the house to visit her today, pity driving him as well as a secret desire to see his mother once again, the only person he seemed to give a damn about. It was as he was headed towards Corvistowne from Captial City that he came across a strangely familiar sight, though also very unfamiliar and strange. The familiarity would come from a Corvistowne and an Avington standing side by side, obviously talking to eachother about some such female finery in the window. He couldn't helpt but find the pair slightly strange however. He thought it was just his own family that through unfortunate circumstances had been created...but appearently the two regions could be friends. He snorted softly. But more strange then that...one of them was an insect? He had only heard things of Insect breeds, but hadn't ever actually seen one, and had there been one in the palace, he might just have overlooked them. There was a part of him that wanted to venture forth...to get a closer look at the Corvistowne...but he knew that would be socially awkward, not to mention probably politically incorrect on some level. If only he were a more social being...
