(Billy dear, I am posting this because FP took Severus out and I thought it would be a good idea just to put her words to him first and return to the conversation. Hope you do not mind <3)
Dilis smiled to herself... seems that she hit a nerve. Though she did not feel it was necessary to respond to such a cad, she was not about to let him upset her either. Whether he listened or not, she would have her words.
"No Severus, you are wrong. Not everyone has prejudice for another realm. I do not. I feel everyone despite realm, rank or what have you is worth my time until they PROVE otherwise. And you sir, have proven to me you are the lowest of the low and not deserving of the Jack rank. Picking on a female? Shame on you. And as far as my father goes, you do not know a thing; at least he loves me and would never walk away from me in public. Ever. Ophelia is ashamed of you, Severus... what do you think about that? Someone so dear to you and you have managed to make her ashamed."
He got up probably without hearing her but she was too irritated to care so rather than brewing on it, she decided to turn her attention back to the others. "Delightful person, that Severus" She laughed. She had intended on having a pleasant day and that she would.
"Yes dear, I am quite alright. Though he may not have heard me, I am still glad I was able to stick up for myself without getting terribly upset. You are lovely for worrying though." She smiled widely at Parvana and the canine. "Well, let us enjoy the rest of the day? No sense in letting other people ruin our time; Smile, dear. Everything is alright now."

Prelude looked frantically from person to person, trying to figure out just what in the hell was going on! His ears drooped down, and he lowered his head down a slight bit.
"Um, was this a bad time? I could just, you know... Well, uh, actually, you know what, uh, you might need someone to be here to talk it out with you, so I could stay, I mean it's really up to you, you know...[/b]"[/i]
He realized he was stuttering, and decided it was best just to shut up for a few seconds. His consciousness (sanity?) was really going to the wayside now, letting him babble on about whatever. And since there was tension, and also being that he was always one to help those who might need it. But still, he might have kept quiet for a minute or two.
He opted not to.
"Severus," he began quickly before his insomnia caught up with him,
"might want to consider NOT being so... how shall I put this... inappropriate? Nah, somehow that doesn't seem to do justice, but we'll call it that, leave it there." He reconsidered.
"You know what? He seems like a really, really big..." he hushed a little.
"...asshole."
He was never quite sure why he was always timid when it came to cursing. Perhaps it was his nature to not curse or be mean. Perhaps his mother had taught him about the inappropriateness of cursing. He couldn't quite remember.
"So," he suddenly appeared as if he had been completely refreshed, or that he had slept in the last day. "What is everyone drinking?" He smiled and politely summoned a waiter.

It took some time and a few moments of quietly sipping her tea for Parvana to feel ready to relax and simply smile again. The ferocity of Severus's anger still surprised her quite a bit and she was, admittedly, quite lost on what to do with herself. She had really wanted to get to know Severus and his mother, but both avenues seemed to have failed at the moment. Perhaps another day would come when she'd get a chance to speak with them? She could only hope.
For now, however, she had Dilis's company and could focus on the feline's bright smile and their new friend. Who, she was afraid, had yet to introduce himself properly to their small party. She let his words on Severus fall on deaf ears as she had decided it best to let this topic die as quickly as possible. Parvana was not one to sit and whisper insults behind another's back.
"We are drinking Casablanca Green Tea. One of our guests, you just missed her before you came over, bought us a pot. You're welcome to have some if you'd like?" Being the only one with properly 'useful' hands in such a situation, Parvana found herself taking over the tea pot. "I'm afraid, however, you've yet to be given a proper chance to introduce yourself. Since you seem to know our names, pray tell, what is yours?"

My my, he was as nervous and unsure of himself as Seki was. Dilis was sad to be reminded of Seki, she had not had the time to run into him again so save that one encounter she had not seen him. But no matter, this was a new experience with a new person and she was going to enjoy it. The Selkie had commented on Severus but she had wanted the topic to die so she simply smiled.
"Do not worry yourself dear, in the long scheme of things... Severus does not matter much. You are right and it was rude of him to talk to me like that but I am not so concerned about it." He had hushed himself when he swore and Dilis found that endearing and gentlemanly.
"You are terribly sweet, thank you for the offer." Dilis looked over at Parvana, she most certainly looked stirred. It worried her as Parvana was a nice girl and she did not want her to worry about such unimportant things. It was rather endearing that she did though.

"Oh! I apologize, how rude of me!" Prelude had clearly felt quite embarrassed that he forgot completely to introduce himself properly.
"My name is Prelude." He put out his hand slowly.
"A pleasure to meet you." He smiled warmly then, suddenly a bit more sure of himself, confident that the conversation could move on and things would be better for everyone. Maybe he could find some sleep soon, too.
He looked around and said, "Mmm! This tea is wonderful!
What did you call it? Casablanca Green Tea? Mmm! Oh, it's so good!
You know, I've never been much for green tea in the past, but I guess it's always good to go back to something you previously hadn't had very much luck with before... You know, to see if your taste buds might have changed? Mine always do."
He sipped his tea once more, then, his voice trailing off, eyes veering off in no particular direction, almost as if in shameful reflection than in a symptomatic display of his condition, he noted, "As do my sleeping patterns, it would seem..." He hushed, realizing he was rambling again.

Moment by moment Xylia was relaxing. Tea and thoughtless conversation was nice. Very nice. She could just sip her stress away on the lovely brew Ophelia had left behind for them.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Prelude." Parvana giggled softly at his excitement, putting a paw to her muzzle before washing the small fit of amusement down with a sip of tea. "Yes, Casablanca is what I believe Ophelia called it. It's very nice, I think... It's very smooth, I wonder if it was expensive?" Oh well, she would manage if it was. "Ah, no worries, Prelude. My own sleeping manners are quite unusual, I must admit. Work does that to you, I fear. In the lab, time just slips through your fingers."
It was the same sad story for most Corvies, even for many non-Corvies. The scientist was just doomed to be swept up in their work...but honestly, what else would be expected of them? There was no pleasure in containing your excitement over your work.

" Prelude... it's a pleasure." Dilis sat back and watch the two in their conversation. She was glad that this new companion at least was nice to both of them. She would have been terribly sad if he turned out like Severus had been. She sat quietly sipping her tea, thinking over the day. They had started meeting, running into Severus, finding out he was a jerk, meeting Ophelia and having a falling out with Severus. All in all it was quite the event-filled day. " So Prelude, what brought you to the Capital City today?" She asked in a questioning mood. She wanted to know more about this canine but did not want to make it too obvious. Hopefully Parvana would ask him more as well; to her the guise was a good one but only time would tell if they caught on. Peder sauntered into the tea shoppe, hoping to take a break from the tediousness they put him through at work today. As he was about to get a table for himself he saw a familiar face. He knew the Selkie canine anywhere; he walked over to the table and coughed slightly. " Prelude, my boy! Didn't expect to see you here, how ya doin? Shouldn't you be out doing something productive" He teased and poked him in the gut. Peder really did like Prelude, back in Selkie Lakes they had a tendency to get into a lot of trouble together. " Who are these lovely young ladies you are sitting with? Mind if I join you?" Before he had a chance to reply, Peder took the liberty of scooting in between the Avington feline and his friend. " Hope I am not intruding" He grinned. He knew full well he was but again there was two ladies here, he could surely take one off his hands.

The company he was in at that moment was certainly well pleasant. He began to smile a little, "Pleasure's all mine, Dilis." He had forgotten all about his lack of sleep as a newcomer, making quite an entrance for himself as he strolled into the shoppe with great confidence. He wondered about this. And then he realized who it was as the stranger called out to him. "Good show!" he gasped. "Peder! Well isn't this a pleasant surprise! How are you, my good man? I, myself, am doing wonderfully! I've had no sleep in a day and a half, but these fine ladies are keeping me about my wits just fine! Oh!" He pointed to the light-blue colored beauty, "That is Dilis. And the fine lady next to her is... Parvana. Ha! I got it right that time! Haha!" He looked at her in a teasing but playful manner. "So tell me Peder, how are things? I'm genuinely curious to know."

"Heeyyy! It's Prelude! Lookie what we've found here, eh Peder?" Waltzing in but a few scant seconds after his brother was Pathos, looking as highly entertained as he usually did. The feline had a busy day ahead of him; he'd already helped one man put up some signs and had quite a bit left to do for the afternoon, but he'd taken time out of his day to track down Peder for some lunch. Of course, he wasn't expecting to see Prelude, or a bunch of pretty girls, but that was always a bonus--though it was too bad he hadn't dragged Liv along with, she tended to make things more fun. He didn't try to fit himself on the bench, as there were plenty of people on there as it was, but merely stood next to the table. He politely tipped his invisible hat to Dilis and Parvana, then grinned at Prelude and Peder. "So how's it been, boyo?"
