The sparrow almost let out a small breath of relief. She had been quite worried that her suggestion wouldn't go over well, and she really did not want to attend the show alone. She smiled at Parvana's question, considering the answer as they left the bathroom, feeling much more sure of herself.
"She's been playing for years, actually. Music runs in her family, you see, but she's always been so shy about her own art. We've been telling her that she needs to get her name out there for months now.[/b]" the sparrow laughed softly, a musical sound. This concert was a big deal, even though it was a relatively small venue.
She lead the group out of the restaurant, taking a deep breath of the fresh outside air. It was a beautiful night. "Thank you both for accompanying me. It's not often that I get the chance to do something like this.[/b]" The cafe was only a short distance, but the walk would be wonderful. "So, if I might ask, what is it that brings you both out to the city tonight?[/b]"

"Ooh, really? My mother was sadly not very musically inclined. My parents both had lovely voices, though, and from time to time I could coax my Father into singing for me." The thought of her parents made her both sad and happy but he kept that charmingly soft smile upon her features all the while.
No use putting a damper on things now was there?
"I would love to learn to play something one day, but I seem to have my mother's musical failings." She giggled a little at herself and dipped her head. "At least when it comes to piano and violin and all those classical instruments my Father so desperately wanted me to play."
Parvana shivered with pleasure as the fresh night air surrounded her, breathing it in happily and stretching out her wings for a moment. She would've loved to fly but she held herself at bay for now as it would have been rude of her to fly while the others remained on the ground.
"You're very welcome, Calia. It'll be a pleasure." She shrugged her lithe shoulders and fluttered her wings again, this time more in pleasure than in nerves. "Not much, really. I had been looking for someone, but then I ran into Dilis earlier in the afternoon and we've taken to just enjoying the sights."

Dilis followed the two girls out of the restaurant, feeling glad to be out. She was most definitely not the type to stay in one place for too long. “You are welcome Calia. I am glad to be out and about with the two of you. Thank you for inviting me. However, your friend should have more self esteem, she will not get anywhere as a musician unless she has that.” She smiled. She knew what it was like to doubt herself on things.
“I had intended on spending the day reading my book when Parvana and I happened upon each other and decided to take each other’s company.” She smiled warmly at Parvana.
“Do not worry dear; I myself cannot play a thing but Mother used to tell me we were given voices for a reason... though most times I sound like a dying animal.” She laughed at herself; she really did have an awful singing voice.

The sparrow's expression turned to one of embarassment at the sudden turn of conversation, looking shyly at her feet as they walked. "I might be a sparrow, but... I've only ever sung for my children.[/b]" she laughed softly, shaking her head. "My voice might sound nice, but I'm not really sure. I lose it whenever someone is listening too closely. Perhaps we three should start a band?[/b]" It was certainly an amusing thought.
Calia was enjoying the cool night air quite a bit, as well as the abrupt change from the cramped spaces that she had been spending most of her time in lately. Once they reached the cafe, they would be allowed to sit on the patio, which she was feeling exceptionally grateful for. It was a lovely evening.
The woman laughed, feeling quite happy with the way things had turned out. Her eyes shone slightly as she looked at the two, her delight finding small ways to make itself obvious. Something about the two put her at ease, that much was certain. "Well, then, we'll just have to have a wonderful night out, won't we? Even if the music isn't to your liking, I'll make you both whatever kind of drink we want once we arrive.[/b]"

Parvana laughed softly, blushing beneath her dark skin. "A band? I...might be able to sing the part but I'm rather sure I must have terrible stage fright." If she couldn't handle large crowds, how in the name of the suits could she perform for them?
The thought alone made her tremble adorably and for her wings to flutter gently.
"I'm sure the music will be quite to my liking. Music of any kind is very nice, especially when a friend is playing." Or the friend of a friend in this case, but the point remained the same. "That'd be lovely, Calia. Thank you."
After a short while longer of walking and casual conversation, they would arrive at the cafe at last. Parvana stretched her wings gently before folding them closed once more and tilting her attention up onto Calia; waiting for the sparrow to lead the way. She was curious about her friend and growing quietly eager to hear her play.

Dilis giggled at the thought Calia posed. A band? Oh lord, Dilis could not sing for beans and she hardly knew how to play band instruments. She used to play the violin---no she tried to play the violin--- when she was younger because of her Mother but she never really picked it up. Ah well, some things did not translate through genes.
"A band you say? Well if you did not mind hearing sounds one would hear from a dying animal then sure, I would be inclined to join" she laughed. She was not just being modest either. She used to take music lessons but she was so awful the teacher told Father she was up and leaving one day. The child was unteachable blah blah blah.
"I would definitely like to go with you to hear your friend play" she smiled.
Live music was fun, she always wanted to go to a club or party that had that. Father would never allow her to mingle with such people... musicians... he used to tell her they had no direction and no future just going around playing music all day. She had a hunch it was really because music made him think of Mother.

The sparrow just had to grin at that comment, her blue eyes shining mischeviously. She had felt old when she had first joined up with the pair, but they were doing wonders to settle her nerves and make her feel welcome. Why not have a little fun? "Well, I've heard that kind of music is getting pretty popular as of late.[/b]" she remarked, winking at Dilis with a small smirk at the corner of her beak. "We might stand a pretty good chance, we have the added bonus of being some attractive young ladies. Well, you two do, anyway.[/b]" She laughed.
The cafe was light with small lights that cast a festive glow across the patio, and the large windows were opened to allow the sound from inside to reach even those who chose to sit outside in the fresh air. Calia could feel her heart flutter at the sight - she was thrilled to have a job at such a beautiful place. Inside of the building, they had a clear view of a large and shining black piano, and a young woman - a slender Villa fox - stood near it, looking quite nervous but smiling at those who arrived. Calia ushered the pair to the main door and then hesitated outside, turning to face her companions.
"That's Marianne in there. Would you like to sit inside or outside?[/b]" she asked, positively beaming at the pair. "And what kind of drink can I get you? Name anything, and I'll get it for you.[/b]"

Parvana was delighted with her company. Both Dilis and Calia were wonderful and nice and put her perfectly at ease -- a rarity so far in this bustling city. She giggled and blushed as the playful joking of 'their band' continued. Singing was truly a love of hers...if only she wasn't so shy...
"Oh Calia, don't sell yourself short! You're a lovely woman yourself, I couldn't call you anything less." Once more she was thankful for her dark fur, for it hid the depth of the frequency of her blushing.
The cafe's atmosphere was delightful, and Parvana relaxed fully into it immediately. Her eyes followed everything, drinking in the light and the sound and basking in the warmth of it. Her eyes found the Villa fox quickly, her eyes briefly following the woman's curves before quickly seeking Calia out once more. Such thoughts....
"Where would we better hear the music? If she'll be playing inside, I think I'd love to be in there as well." Just so long as their table wasn't all too crowded, of course. She requested her drink when offered, nothing more than a simple Morganberry tea, and bobbed her head politely. "Thank you so much for the offer, Calia. You've been too kind."

Dilis laughed at her comment but softened her features when Calia poked fun at herself again. It was very sad when someone was down on themselves; she should know, she did it all the time. But, it was not Dilis' place to ask her about it so for now she focused on the environment they had just arrived to. It was a lovely little cafe bustling with people; she just hoped Parvana would adapt well what with all the people around that is. She kept a watchful eye on her for a moment, muscles tensed but when she smiled Dilis decided she must have been having a good time.
"Yes I agree, sitting inside would be wonderful." Dilis was feeling a bit cold anyway. "Drink? If it would not be too much of a bother an Avington Daiquiri would be amazing, thank you. Parvana is right, you have been too kind to us. "
