(( OOC: .... ; I have... no idea... how to write this. So forgive me if this absolutely sucks. Just... yeah. Theo cannot play follow the leader anymore.)) "Can't you move any faster?" Theofilus growled (as much as a sparrow could growl) at the German Shepard he was flying over. Rogers kept his head to the ground, "Shut up. I don't have wings. Were close. Really really close."
Theofilus made a worried noise. Was Asha all right? Where they really on the road to where he thought they were? The sparrow was worried beyond thought and reason as he hovered over Rogers. "Look, go one ahead, just fly pretty high... there's other scents. I'll catch up."
Other people? Please let Asha be safe. Theofilus shook his head before following the advice of his friend. He couldn't fly too high, dim lights and all of that. He cursed silently to himself as he watched the ground pass him by. And then something else caught his eye. White was something that could be seen in the dim light rather clearly. Whoever it was he didn't think it was a good idea to interrupt them. Even if it was that far up above someone's head, no one really looked up if they could help it. The sparrow took that to his advantage and flew high enough that he could see the man properly, and of course something else caught his eye in the distance. At least he had good vision when it came to seeing far away, but it was hard to miss neon green period. Night or otherwise. "Please let that be Asha," he muttered to himself as he made the arbitrary decision to interrupt. Whatever was going on. He wanted his daughter back. Using his ability of perfectly controlled flight he flew next to the black figure, who was apparently a Corvie with very loud pink arm socks, and glanced over at her. Asha was very much clinging to the woman's back. Thank the suits and stars above. "Can I have my daughter back? Now. Just... besides me it seems there's someone else following you and Asha, so I wouldn't suggest stopping completely." Theofilus looked back ahead of him, he didn't like flying in dim light. He didn't want to run into a tree or anything. He didn't want to be dead after finding his daughter.

((Psh, you have nothing to worry about! It sucks not at all!))
A sudden voice coming from the side of her caused the Corvie to leap away instinctively. Xia tilted her head slightly towards the creature, noticing that it was a sparrow, blue and white with glasses, Queen of Diamonds. Her hackles raised, she contemplated what the bird had said. He claimed that this was his daughter.
How could she believe that? She had no obvious physical traits that would tie him as being a parental...Her first instinct was that it was not true...until she remembered something interesting about Asha's guardians - there were three. And her "papa" was a Queen. He did know the girl's name...She whispered to the girl on her back. If it was true, that he was her papa and that there was someone following them...
"Asha, does this guys sound, smell like anyone you know? He's a bird, a Queen too. He the papa you were talking about?"

The little skunk was completely unaware of Ataxia's pain, and she wiped further at her nose and face until it felt mostly dry, the fur sticking out in strange ways. Unaware of this fact, she settled in once more, ready for the long road that looked to be ahead of them. Normally, the idea of being outside so long would be scary (too loud, too much excitement, and ever so cold!), but with all that had happened it seemed like it would be a good time to rest and get to know the canine better.
She giggled slightly, completely misunderstanding Ataxia's statement about the hulking man. "I hope I get to meet him again one day..." her tail arched up slightly, and she pulled it close to her body, revelling in the warmth and closing her eyes.
Then there was a voice. One she new very well, and rather abruptly, she raised her head, ears panning in every direction to pinpoint the sounds made by the sparrow. She could feel the canine bristling beneath her, but ignored it, joy radiating from every inch of her body. The canine's question went completely unheard as Asha began to call out. "Papa! PAPA! Xia, Xia, that's my papa! Where is he?!" she was practically bouncing in place, her smile a beacon to the sparrow that she was completely unharmed.

She had no idea how far away their pursuer was, but Xia only hoped that whoever it was, it was deaf. With words like 'daughter' and 'papa' being thrown around, the only ones who might not get the hint that they had some form of relation would maybe be those two Corvies from before...and they were a very...special case. She doubted that it could be those two. They would have given themselves away a long time ago.
She turned her eyes to the road, still running, but speaking to the papa sparrow. Xia was more than happy that her parentals were concerned enough about her to go right out to find her, but it made it a touch more difficult. Then again, if she did have someone following them, who knew when whoever it was would make an appearance, and having a Queen there brought a bit of comfort.
"You have a plan to go about this?"

"I'm right next to you sweetheart, just calm down and hold on to Xia," He said as he kept up the with the dog's pace. Apparently her name was Xia? Well, there was no point in asking questions at the moment.
"I haven't the slightest idea of who happens to be following you. Some people are too stupid to be intimidated by rank, but I think if we actually stop the probably can be solved rather easily. It just depends on if the person following you is important or not. You wouldn't happen to know a highlander that wears red would you?"
Being thrown into such an unusual situation wasn't something Theofilus was used to doing. He was surprised that this mysterious person that his daughter was clinging to was actually talking to him. How had Asha even gotten out of the apartment? How was that even possible?
"Either way, whoever is behind you is going to catch up, and I don't want my daughter caught in the crossfire."

Xia started to slow her steps at the Queen's request. The chances of someone being bold and/or stupid enough to stand up against a Queen were slim to none, similar to the chances of anyone who would bother to follow them in a fight against one. However, she stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the sparrow mention a 'highlanders that wears red.'
"Only one and we just met earlier today. His Highness Gaston, King to the Queen Serafino."
Xia tried to keep the hint of disdain out of her voice as she mentioned the possible pursuer. Seeing that this sparrow was a red Queen, she didn't want her innate distrust of the color let out. Her friendship with a certain raccoon Corvie helped curve her prejudice against Diamonds, but Hearts...she still had some problems with.
"If it is him, you're more right than you know about him catching up."
She turned her back to Theofilus so that he could take hold of the girl, but also to get a better look of the road behind him. Could it be him? If it was, why would he be following..?

Theofilus didn't expect her to stop dead in her tracks. With a rather abrupt flap of his wings he shifted to his biped form and stopped. Then she was kind enough to announce who exactly was following them.
Well that was just peachy wasn't it? The sparrow hesitated as he turned around. Well, this was going to be something of an event, now wasn't it? Theofilus did not like the idea of coming face to face with a King from the court of Hearts. At least it wasn't that feline. That would have ended badly, he was sure.
Instead of picking up Asha, he stood between the canine and the road. "Asha, sweetheart. When Mr. Gaston is around. Please don't say a word. Papa needs to have a nice talk with him." Hopefully it would stay a nice talk. He didn't want anything horrible to be said about Asha while she was right there. Adults were idiots most of the time, and he didn't like explaining that to her. She didn't believe him.

As she listened to the two adults speaking, Asha's world came crashing down around her ears, it seemed. Gaston was following them...? But he was such a nice man! He had even tossed her into the air, he was so strong and so kind and wonderful... It just didn't make sense to her that he would be chasing them for any reason other than to make sure they were safe. He had already beaten up those awful brutes for them, hadn't he? "B-but...! Papa, Mr. Gaston is a nice man, papa!"
She fell silent again after Theofilus spoke to her again, biting her lip in the absolute picture of teenaged insolence. The expression was quick to fade away, however, and she snuggled deep into the canine's mane, hiding her face from the sparrow. She just didn't want to believe them, not in the slightest.
Instead, she wiggled closer to one of Ataxia's ears, whispering in hushed tones, one ear flicked back towards Theofilus. "Xia, Xia... It's just a misunderstanding, right? I bet that Mr. Gaston was just following after us to make sure we were okay, and that no more bad people were chasing us." she paused for a second, brows furrowed slightly. This was such a strange situation. "Right...? He helped us before, didn't he...? We can just let him know that Papa's here now and we're okay and then he won't need to protect us anymore. Right?"

Gaston had stopped and hidden when he had seen the Sparrow fly by overhead, listening carefully, he had been able to make out their conversation...and the realization that he couldn't just run away, ah well...no sense in staying out of sight then.
Moving to the center of the street, he jogged around the corner and stopped in front of them, looking as though he had not rested at all.
"Ha, good to see there are others watching your backs now! I suppose this mean sI can finally head on home."
He eyed the Sparrow again, taking in his rank and noting the new Canine on the scene, then let his eyes rove back over the girls. He smiled disarmingly, bright teeth glistening as he struck a pose, looking pleased with himself.
"So, you're a Queen, eh? Even you couldn't keep your eyes away from the beauty shining from this delightful lady, could you, naha."
So saying, he bowed in the direction of first the Sparrow, then...with a roughish wink, to Ataxia.
"Don't get too many ideas though, sirs, I believe I saved her first."
