Rosemary frowned, "But Mommy! I didn't know someone could be scarier than Aunt Joe! And why doesn't Daddy like talking about his sister...?" Her ears perked in curiosity as she gave her mother the biggest possible puppy eyes she could manage. Her brother was completely forgotten as well as the strangers for now.
Kazifel raised an eyebrow as he watched the creature suddenly come to life. The magic required for something like that must have been utterly amazing. The man crossed his arms as he watched carefully for anything else. This wasn't normal. This wasn't normal at all.
Sage was utterly amazed and gave a gasp of surprise once she had done blushing from his comment. "She's absolutely amazing!" she exclaimed as she reached out to touch the little creature.
Fai proceeded to wrap around her neck, brushing her mane up against Sage's fur.
Meanwhile, Parsley was surprised that Thyme had actually decided to pounce both him and the Mome. He was completely oblivious to Sage's drama as he found himself trying to dodge--and fail--only to have his tail pounced by his sister. His only response was a horrified squeak as he tried to pull his tail away.
Loreta watched everything unfold in mild amusement and a bit of hate.

Alphonse really wanted to hear this as well and stayed quiet, letting his obnoxiously cute and persuasive sister ask for him. Wide red eyes looked up at Femi as she bit her lip. "Your daddy's sister was a mean person and I don't like to talk about her either. She did bad things. I'm not telling you anything more than that. If you ask him about it, I won't let you out of the house for months." Hopefully the thread would be enough to keep the girl in line? Not likely...
Thyme laughed, feeling like the puppy she was as she rolled on impact, getting tangled in a pile of Mome and Brother and fur. Lots of fur. She accidentally got a kick to the face when she ducked her head to avoid a different limb. She didn't notice the drama with Sage and her new floating pet-doll-thing at all, which was probably a good thing.

Hatter was oh-so pleased with himself. So very pleased that he could possibly burst. He wanted to get up and rush home to his work desk and his abundance of mechanical pieces so that he put this new found skill to work.
Never before had a creation like this seemed so ... alive.
"She suits you." Even as the words left his lips, Hatter caught the oddity in them. Crap. Had he been talking like that all along? It usually made most people he ran into a little uncomfortable, but maybe the Tulgey household hadn't noticed? He sure hoped so. "I'm glad you like her. I have to say you had me truly inspired."
Doorie squeaked loudly, scrambling to get out from underneath the flailing paws and tails and what have you but he was caught under Parsley's tail. The little Mome rolled around, batting at the children with careful metallic paws. Playtime was so much fun!

"But Why?" Rosemary insisted, "Shouldn't you tell me what she did bad so I don't do it? Come on Mommy!" She whined, continuing to give her mother huge puppy eyes.
Parsley was a particular shade of unhappy at his sister's antics. Well at least he hit her in retaliation? No, not really she was still crushing his tail. At least the little Mome thingy was all right? Then again it was made out of metal, so he imagined that it would take a lot more than a wolf like his sister to hurt it. And none of them had teeth like Alphonse's. The fairy squirrel wiggled to get out from under his sister's playful grasp, yanking his tail as hard as possible without hurting it.
Kazifel was still terribly suspicious of the stranger now that he had shown off his magic. He couldn't be normal. He must have been a Queen at the very least... but could a Queen learn something like that so easily? Why had he even bothered to come all this way if he was that skilled in the first place?
Sage smiled, and quite suddenly moved forward and hugged Hatter. "Thank you so much!" she said happily. "You're really amazing! I guess what they say about Outsiders isn't completely true."
Kazifel made an unhappy sound in the background that Sage didn't seem to notice.
Loreta was still rather miffed at the entire situation. Though she was terribly surprised by Hatter's latest creation. It wasn't like Doorie at all....

Femi's teeth ground together a little in both agitation and worry. Alphonse didn't like that noise at all. It made his ears flick backwards in protest.
Rosemary was going to repeat every single word she heard to her father, wasn't she? For all that she'd been dealing with them for six years, she didn't have a very good handle on the 'children' thing. She could handle being 'Mommy' very well, but Kazifel disciplined them much more effectively than she did.
And the puppy eyes didn't work very well when she was upset. When she wasn't, the girl could get a lot out of her by being sweet and adorable. But now... not happening. "No, Rose. You're being an awful brat tonight. If you ever behave at all like the woman, I'll tell you to stop, and then you'll know. Otherwise, no. No, no, no." She curled up a little more against the girl each time, not liking the memories this frustrating conversation was bringing back. It had only been six or seven years ago, but her time in Corvistowne had been mildly traumatic.
Heee, it was such a playful little mechanical monster! Thyme completely forgot her dignity as she was flailed at and batted around, jumping and half-dodging to one side as she extricated herself from the pile of limbs and made to pounce the mechano-mome again.

(Sorry for taking so long to reply. @_@)
Hatter couldn't keep his eyes off of the floating Tove, so graceful... He was rather proud of himself and it left him with a desperate urge to be home and working again. Ohhh, he had so many ideas... but before he could contemplate any of them, or notice the suspicion in Kazifel's eyes, he was caught off guard by Sage's surprise hug.
Instantly the Joker broke into a bright and cheerful grin and he hugged the adorable little biped back. Sweet, sweet girl! He liked her a lot.
"You're very welcome, Sage!" He grinned with pride at her little compliments and knew full well how much they meant coming from a Tulgey. To say an Outsider wasn't bad meant a lot. "Thank you! It's always a pleasure when my work is enjoyed so much." He released the little girl from the hug as soon as she released him, not wanting to come off like a weird perv or anything... especially not when her daddy was staring at him.
Doorie chirred cheerfully, dodging Thyme and bouncing energetically. It made a considerable amount of mechanical noises when it was bouncing around like that, the little gears heard audibly as it moved -- quite the contrast from the low ticking-hum of the freshly made Tove.

The sound that Mommy's teeth made was enough to make Rosemary shudder. She tried to give her mother another puppy dog eyes look to at least butter her mother over a bit. There wasn't a chance anytime soon she would be a "woman" like her mother wanted, but she could be an adorable little demon. "But Mommy... I only want to know what she did bad so I won't do it!"
Kazifel could feel the hair on the back of his neck stand up as he watched the man with his daughter. His eye twitched persistently as he bit his lip. Femi was going to have his head if she found out any of this. And it wasn't like he could tell them to lie to their mother.
Sage smiled up at Hatter before reaching up to hug her new Tove. "Are you ever going to come back to visit again?"
Parsley whimpered and hugged his tail defensively. Ow, that really hurt. Stupid Highland Dog sister. He growled a bit as he glared at her--not like she noticed since she was playing with the Mome. Maybe... he would just ask the Hatter person later to see how things worked like that.
Loreta choked back a sound of dismay. Come back? The very thought made her want to run away in terror. She couldn't imagine from the look on that Kazifel person's face that he thought the idea of returning was a good one.

"You only want to know what she did bad because you don't know," Femi replied with a small scowl, her tail twitching this way and that. The girl's puppy eyes weren't working at all with her mother in this sort of mood, which she might eventually figure out. "I'm not in the mood, Rosemary. We have strangers dirtying up our house and you are not helping me calm down."
Reminding herself again of the people downstairs made the squirrel hunch over her children and glare briefly at the door, and then at her daughter. She would so much rather be downstairs, watching them and making sure nothing happened to the rest of her family. Never mind the fact that she would probably be driving her husband crazy in the process.
The whirring gears and ticking, clicking noises made the mechanical mome an even better target for the young wolf, who didn't even notice her brother's displeased glare or growl. Thyme yipped excitedly, making a few feinting lunges before trying to turn them both into a pile of mome and pup again. This was a stupidly fun toy!

Ooo, Sage's comment was terribly tempting for Hatter! He really did enjoy being in Tulgey! It was such an intriguing place (never mind the dangers, they could be more easily avoided when he wasn't dragging poor Loreta into the Wood with him)... but then there was the problem of just how badly an Outsider upset the balance in Kazifel's house...
Maybe he would come as a Tulgey next time and upset poor Femi less next time? But no... that would be problematic in it's own sense. He would just have to figure some sort of agreement out. It was easy enough to pretend that he was a mildly crazy card with a lot of magic to back his idle wandering into the Wood versus having to explain that he was, in fact, a wonderful and mythical joker.
Without skipping a beat, The Hatter bobbed his head and flashed one of his wide grins. "I would love to come back and visit again," he paused briefly and looked to Kazifel, "if it's allowed of course..." He wouldn't want to cause such a stir in Kazifel's household again despite his eagerness to come back.
Doorie was as delighted as the little clockwork beast could be. He had someone to play with and they were quite happy to be playing and Hatter had very firmly instilled into his little mechanical sidekick that people being happy was a wonderful thing.
So the Mome whistled and chirred and flailed in a happy pile of mechanics and limbs and adorable eager puppies.

Mommy was clever sometimes, and it was frustrating. Rosemary frowned as she looked down at her paws. Strangers weren't so bad. They had pretty clothing and all sorts of ideas. Why couldn't she ask the man in the hat questions? It just wasn't fair. And now Mommy wouldn't even tell her what Daddy's sister did. "Strangers are just people you haven't met yet, which means you can't tell if they're good or bad."
Sage looked to her Daddy with bright eyes. "Can he come back? Please Daddy! Please!"
Kazifel's eye twitch grew stronger at the very thought of what Femi would do if this stranger just happened to be in their house again. This would be a sore subject, but how could he just tell his daughter a flat out no? Plus, he was curious about how Corvistowne was doing himself... and there was the matter of his strange powers. "I'll have to ask your mother. And don't bother her with all of this, please."
Sage normally was a good girl, but then again there was a chance she would blurt out everything that had occurred to her mother if she was pressed. He would have to prepare for the oncoming flood of disaster after Hatter and his strange companion left.
Loreta closed her eyes and started counting to try and prevent herself from having a heart attack on the spot.
Parsley didn't want to play anymore. And gave a rather loud and annoyed squee as he tried to roll out of the way of his sister and the dancing Mome creature.
