Quite a lot of family scandal! Parzifal envied her that knowledge and history. He'd been too young to remember 'who' his mother had been beyond a loving touch and sweet voice and he had no idea who his father might have been. Family histories were fantastically odd things and he'd often wished for one in the privacy of his own thoughts. "How utterly fascinating," was all he muttered, unsure what to say or how to properly express the genuine interest he felt at the convoluted series of events.
He visibly perked at her question. "I generally study the time period surrounding the War of the Second Wall. More specifically, I'm interested in some of the magics they had flying around back then. Certain aspects of them have been lost to history, but there are clues..." Trailing off, he decided that now probably wasn't the time to launch into an enthusiastic discussion of his favorite topic, not with the sisters having just walked in the door and one of them unconscious on the couch.
"Ehm. So what brings the two of you here for a visit? Just coming to check up on your brother? He's been doing pretty well from what I can see, though I've been in and out for the past few months."

Rosemary's ears shot straight up when she heard his specialty. Well he would just be utterly thrilled to know about what she had stumbled upon then.
But her joy was cut short briefly by Parzifel's question. Ah well then. She shrugged, "We have some news for him. He hasn't exactly been trying to keep in touch which is why I periodically come and visit. Though, I'm sure Sage can tell him since she's awake right now." Rosemary grinned as she watched her sister stir, she was clearly surprised by her sister's knowledge of her being awake.
Sage sat up, blushing clearly visible under her fur. "I'll go do that."
Rosemary nodded cheerfully as her sister disappeared to go to her brother's workshop. She went back to talking with Parzifel as if nothing happened, she was rather enjoying this conversation. "So, what if I told you that I found a book from your specialty? One written by a Queen who participated in the war?"

Parzifal wondered what in particular had made her perk up like that before she answered his question. His eyes flicked to the prone form of the biped and the eyebrows slowly rose as he realized that she'd been coming back to consciousness without his realizing. He couldn't decide if it was rude of him, rude of her, or just funny. He settled on the last one and smiled as she left. "Nice to see you too?" he murmured after she left, then sighed. "She really did have a crush on me, didn't she?"
His pupils visibly dilated at her question and his expression went from rueful smile to intense concentration. It was kind of funny. "I would ask where you found it, which Queen wrote it, where it was, and if you'd read anything in it yet. Then I would beg to see it, and find some way to make you agree if you were hesitant." He was quite serious.

Rosemary nodded, "But she's over it. For the most part. Might kill Parsley, though, so we'll have to be careful if we hear screaming."
Sage was a sweet person, half the time. The other half she was a rather bitchy sort of person who would probably kick her own brother in his manhood. Parzi didn't need to know that bit though.
"Well... My father gave it to me, heaven knows where he bought it from, the Morganberry Queen... and unfortunately you can't read anything because I'm the only one who can read the contents. Not to mention I read a little spell out of it and...." She waved her paws in the air. "I now look like a yellowed book. As you'll note I don't have my wings anymore, but my Roses stayed."
It was a depressing thought. And quite suddenly Forge came out from the kitchen carrying the tea. He gave both Parzi and Rosemary a smirk as he set it down. He was more than happy to interrupt since Rosemary was probably going to get depressed very shortly.

Parzifal had been just polite enough not to comment on the odd markings that covered her fur. Honestly, hearing about the rose tattoos from her brother, he'd assumed they were just an extremely expensive and elaborate dye or ink job. Now, though... for the love of all. He never would have guessed.
No wonder his research had only been mediocre in its efforts. He just didn't pay enough attention to things! Mentally kicking himself, he unconsciously scooted forward in his chair and leaned towards the canine, elbows balancing on his knees and shoulders hunching in a distinctly avian fashion. He stared at her gravely. "You are the living embodiment of the last five years of my life." He paused and shifted. That sounded rather creepy. "I am being quite serious. In a purely academic sense, I have devoted all my research to the magics of the War of the Second Wall, the most powerful of which were thrown around by the Queens. Books like that are... well, I can't even tell you how protected they are, in public libraries or private collections. It's almost impossible to get within sight of one, much less be able to touch it or read it. That is... what happened?"
He didn't notice any discomfort. She was hiding it well enough for the time being, and his attention had just been focused. He didn't even notice the tea until it practically appeared under his nose. "Oh, ehm. Thank you. Forge."
She was a magical treasure trove. A Club with a summoned weapon, who'd read from an ancient text written by the Diamond Queen of the War and became the physical manifestation of the document. It was... beyond incredible.

He seemed to be a bit of a Drama Queen.
Rosemary rolled her eyes as Forge almost shoved the tea in Parzi's face. She was grateful though and motion for him to sit down with her. It would at least make this a bit more easy to deal with.
"Well, I found a spell in the book. It didn't seem like anything weird until I recited it and then BAM. After feeling like my blood was on fire for a few minutes, looked at my fur and.... well. I can also write in my own blood... which isn't as awesome as it sounds." She shrugged. "Most of the book was her accounts of the war, and a few experimental spells she seemed to be testing out. Nothing about the spells she used during the battle as far as I know. I've only read it a few times, so I may have missed something in the margins."

Parzifal paid attention to her so hard that it was probably embarrassing, if he was in any state to notice such things. This was just... this was huge. Enormous.
"You found her private accounts? Her experiments? That is... it must have been in your father's family for ages. If anything like that had hit the public markets, or even the private ones, it would have been in a collection years before. And... yes, the margins can be very tricky. I've had to do a lot to margins, and it can be worth the trouble. In one book in an Esterberry library, I actually had to use a stick of... graphite..."
And suddenly a scrawl of neat text, written in the margin of that book, floated back to mind. "If you are looking for the truth, seek it from its source. The skin of a dead General, the book of a Queen or...."
He gave her a faraway look for a moment, as if trying to collect his thoughts, and then focused once again. "The source. You found the second source. Of the truth. Er, that was mentioned in the margins of the book." Damn it, he wasn't explaining this properly at all. At best, he was trying to refrain from having a spaz fit. At worst, he was harassing the hell out of her. "You found something very important," he finally said with a helpless little hand gesture.

Rosemary stared at him for a long moment. He eyebrow slowly moving upwards, her other following shortly after. This was actually getting pretty out of hand. She didn't want to deal with it right now, not to mention that it would involve prying into her screw up.
She activated the small ability she had since birth. It would be enough for him to get the hint that she was done with the conversation for the time being. In fact she would have been happy if he never brought it up again, but you could only have so much.
Forge couldn't help but snicker as he took a sip of his own cup of tea. It was amusing watching his summoner do things to disrupt people. This was pretty funny to boot considering how worked up Parzi was getting. "So... you wanted to ask questions about me right?" Forge offered after a while.
Small Ability: Once per week, she can radiate an aura of disinterest so strong that even someone in the middle of describing something incredibly interesting to them will suddenly feel utterly bored with the conversation, and likewise realize that she is utterly bored with it.

Mid-breath, Parzifal suddenly paused and adopted an awkward expression not unlike his faraway thought-collecting look of before. This one had a distinctly more uncomfortable feel to it, from the way he shifted back a little bit to the way his shoulders unconsciously straightened and then hunched in a different way, less intent and more ill at ease.
"I, ah, I suppose you already know that though. I suspect I'm boring you." And he left it at that for another incredibly awkward moment, wondering why he had let himself get worked up over something so ultimately academic and beaten to death by scholars, until the human weapon spoke.
Giving the man a grateful look, he slowly nodded. "Yes... I think I did. Ehm." The tea served as a convenient distraction as he tried to collect his scattered self and his piercing clinked against the china as he took a jerky sip.
The weapon... the weapon was fascinating, yes. But the previous conversation had been as well until suddenly, he realized, it wasn't. He really needed to get out more, and not just going to libraries. Parsley had every right to tease him about that. His life was such an odd dichotomy of introversion and a love of company.
He was having a lot of trouble soothing down the embarrassment of rambling Rosemary into the floor. One fingernail ticked briefly against the side of the cup before he put it down and stood. "Excuse me... but I think I need to check on something upstairs before I get involved in a conversation that might take a while. Especially since I agreed to answer your questions afterward." He gave them both an uncertain smile before sidling out of the room in the direction of the stairway.
The egg, he could just spend a few minutes with the egg. That usually sent his thoughts somewhere else. Maybe it would help calm down the blush that had crept up around his pale collarbone and neck, too. Sometimes not wearing a shirt could be a real sore point.

Herm. That was a violent reaction. Rosemary tilted her head and remained silent as she watched Parzifel. He was quite the bold and curious. And now that his balloon had popped he seemed to be quite distracted.
Then again she rarely had to use her ability. Only recently had she become uncomfortable with some things. Oh well. He would get over it. "Take your time. We're not leaving anytime soon," she said with a smile.
Forge remained quiet and gave the man a slight wave. He watched as the man left the room. He didn't speak until the man was out of hearing distance. "So Rose, how do you think Sage breaking the news is going?"
Rosemary was about to open her mouth when they heard a loud clank. And then promptly afterward the sound of glass breaking. Yelling followed. Apparently Parsley wasn't taking the news well at all. Rosemary shook her head before flopping onto Forge's lap. Her family really was a pain sometimes.
Sage hurried into the room, her hair and cloths were a mess, though her hair sticks remained in the perfect place. She was followed by her irate brother, who was puffed up with raw anger. He opened his mouth long before Sage had a chance to. "The fuck is this Rose? Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"Shut up and have some tea, would you?"
He opened his mouth to throw another insult her way, but it fizzled rather quickly. He glared at both Sage and Rose. "Where's Parzi?"
"Upstairs. Leave him alone though, he seems a bit distressed."
