Vesper continued to watch her Aunt and her Brother from the corner of her eye, keeping the majority of her attention on Brokat and Mikael. If he wanted to go, he could. She wasn't going to complain. She just didn't want to deal with him right now.
"I think I like your mamma and pappa's way of thinking." She stated blatantly before shrugging her shoulders. "It doesn't really matter though, nothing anyone says matters." Yes it did. Especially to someone as fiercely discontent with themselves as Vesper was. It only took a little bit of prodding to finally break their plaster wall of self-confidence.
"When they're sad inside?" The rat glanced to the box of crayons on the floor and resisted the urge to make a comment about his artistic flare. Even in his words... Lucky nit. "Well, if that's the case than I really don't deserve to flatter him with my attention. He can go sulk in is 'inner sadness' all he wants. I couldn't care less."

The ruffling of his fur pulled a playful little growl from his throat and he lifted up at a paw to bat at the offending limb. His tail kept a steady rhythm as he listened, ears swiveling forward and a grin spreading across his muzzle. So she wanted to meet everyone? Well, he'd already made his rounds and could most definitely do the introducing. He pranced a circle around her before dancing in one spot for a moment.
Well come on, I'll introduce you!
Brokat would have liked to have gone over to visit with Auntie Vana, but he was quite comfortable where he was and didn't wish to risk hurting his sister, or the furniture, with his talons in an attempt to move. He held a bit of hope that she'd come over and visit, but for now the couch was where he'd stay. Besides, his sister was finally being nice to someone... so he contented himself by placing her head on her paws, the rotten part of her one leg not bothering him in the least .... his was worse after all, and kept his little rat ears perked and forward to listen to everything going on in the room around him.

Mikael put his head down onto his knuckles, considering her words. After a moment or two he finally lifted his head up, ears perking forward as if he'd thought of something quite obvious. "That doesn't mean -you- have to sulk over here, does it? It kind of sounds like he won.. if he managed to get you as upset as he is."
He looked up though, when the butterfly lady and Nova started coming towards them. It seemed like this grownup wasn't here to drop off or pick up a kid either. Was she a babysitter too? It was safe to assume so, he figured. Not wanting to stand there like an idiot and say nothing to the lady, he gave his tail the slightest of wags at their approach. Then it occurred to him that the pup had called the butterfly lady 'auntie'. They were related? He really couldn't see the family resemblance..

Vana simply beamed at the energetic and spirited boy. Such a sweet heart, and so like his father in that regard! How she could squee at such a sight. It took everything in her power not to sweep him up and cuddle him with affection. His wings made that pretty hard, anyway. Didn't mean Vana still didn't want to squish him, though.
Even Brokat and Vesper with their considerably more prominant Lowlander heritage were beloved by their 'Auntie'. Auntie, of course, in no relation except marriage... And, well, even then it wasn't entirely proper considering that Toli was her Uncle. Ah well, she didn't bother to worry about the genealogy of that. Auntie worked just fine fo rher.
"Hello dears!" She chimed lightly, peering around at the group before focusing more fully upon Vesper and Brokat -- they were family after all, and treating them like strangers would've been entirely rude of her. "Hi Vesp, Kat~ How are you two today?" Her gaze danced to the two other children joining her, smiling warmly between them. "I'm Parvana, by the way, and what can I call you two little lads?"

Vesper took this into consideration for a long moment, eyeing the little boy before her. Who said she was sulking? She very much was not. She was just tempering herself before she bit him. Then again, she supposed he could consider that sulking.
She moved briefly, disliking the way Brokat touched her rot and debating getting up all together.
The finger-boy had a point...but Vesper had taken it in all the wrong ways. It wasn't that she was done 'sulking', it was just that she very simply did not want to be perceived that way. Oh Suits, she hated people sometimes.
"I'm not at all upset." She snorted briefly and slowly managed to sit up, giving Brokat a lick on the top of the head as she did so that he wouldn't think she was running from him or anything silly like that. Besides, he could still lay on her paws and -- and Auntie Vana was coming over finally. Drats.
Her cheerful greeting was met with mildly droll displeasure, but Vesper couldn't help her smile. "Hello Auntie, how are you?"

He gave a cheerful little yip when he saw what direction she was heading in first and took off at a run toward the couch once more. He had every intention of making a flying leap for the cushions again, but he misjudged the distance and only managed to get his front end atop the cushions. When his hind end hit it knocked him off backward and he landed flat on his back on the floor next to Mikael, but he didn't seem at all bothered by the rather .... embarrassing events and simply laughed it off and peered over at the finger puppy before tilting his head and playfully nipping at him, introductions being entirely forgotten for now.
Brokat sighed ever so slightly when Vesper moved, he knew she didn't like her rot ... but he couldn't quite grasp why she couldn't just accept it and move on. He had rot, and momma did to so .... why was it such a bad thing? He did lift his head up when he noticed Vana coming their way ... of course he was soon distracted by a ball of fur and flame flying at the couch and .... missing, sort of. He bit his tongue, not wishing to laugh at his brother but ... suits that was kind of funny.
Little rat ears focused on the butterfly again and dipped his head down between his paws shyly, tail wagging ever so slightly as he greeted her as well, only in a soft little voice that would seem so very off for his build.
Hi ....

A little distracted to say the least, Mikael almost didn't hear what the rat had said. A few moments passed before he just nodded. "If you say so." The potentially biting words were softened by a glance toward Vesper and a wag of his tail. After all, she couldn't see his smile because of his mask.
Taking his forepaws off the couch and sitting on the floor before the insect card, his tail thrummed an easy beat behind him as he answered the corvie's question with typical childlike enthusiasm. "My name is Mikael. Were your parents butterflies too, Miss Parvana?" Obviously, boundaries of what was a person's business to know and what wasn't is something often ignored by young children, especially by Mikael. What harm would a question about lineage do anyways? If she didn't want to be the center of attention then maybe she shouldn't have been born a butterfly. That thought amused the lad, since even as he thought it, he knew that people didn't choose how they looked when they were born. If he'd had any say in it, he would have loved to be born without his mask.

Parvana smiled at the children, dipping her head. "I'm doing very well, Vesper." She then turned her attention down to the little coyote mix on the floor before her. She couldn't immediately figure out his region but, judging by the mask, she figured he must've been some sort of bog cross.
"Hello, Mikael. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Boundaries were no concern to her. If Mikael wanted to ask her questions then she would be more than happy to answer. It wasn't as if her heritage bothered her or anything like that. "Not really, but my mother was a butterfly mix." She leaned in and smiled. "Everyone just thought she'd been born with a wing mutation, see, and no one thought a thing about it until I was born." Which had been rather problematic at the time of her birth, but which was really of no consequence for Mikael at the time being.
With both of her parents passed, Parvana was free to do whatever she wished...even if she still did get quite a few stares from it all.

Vesper couldn't help the brief bark of laughter that escaped her. Cas was... well, Cas was Cas. There was no other words for it, but boy was it hilarious when he did this sort of stuff! Even after Cas had put his fumble behind him and gone about as if he hadn't done anything at all, classic canine, Vesper continued to snicker under her breath.
Yet, despite her amusement, Vesper found she didn't really have anything to say to the group. So, with a bored yawn, she pressed her ears back and slumped against Brokat once more.
Unless Cas got another sudden burst of spazz and tried to jump them again, they'd be fine. Well, that's what Vesper was hoping nonetheless. And whatever had happened to the Snot King? Had he gone off in a sulk or something? How silly. Despite herself Vesper stretched up from her resting position, still leaning on Brokat, to try and see if she could spot him in the room. The bright white canine with his ectoplasmic goo was a bit hard to miss.
