Well those same releases where nice for him to, but things seemed to get duler around his life. Though he knew many people around the realms that used the stuff, though he was just a bit oblivious to the nature of the drug and wanted to experiment with it to find out what the little plant did for people. Though this bird was giving some good stuff, he didn't want to lose everything that he didn't have.
"You know what Colin, I think that your right." he said placing the Midori Finger back into the bag that he had gotten it out of. He smiled to the avian, "So... I bet your wondering why a high ranking cards like those that have messed up and caught has fallen to such petty things, no?" he asked the question letting it roll of his toung as if it was something of little importance.
He looked up to the blue sky, wondering where all his days had went. All those good times that he had enjoyed, bah... just thinking about it now... he realized that he had no real friends. They were things of the past, flings from ages ago. That just made him more depressed... how odd it must look for those around that peaked at the pair... for the queen had hung his head low in dispair, hoping to find some confident in the other.

Colin blinked in surprise as...Sabe actually listened to reason. He felt a swell of pride and satisfaction at the fact that...a Queen had just listened to him. And had avoided making a bad descison...because of him! It made Colin feel rather powerful. Which reminded him that there was no natural high that quite felt the same as the thrill of power. It wasn't something he felt often, and he really did feel a bit giddy, though the smile on his beak was one of relief, mostly.
Without thinking, still feeling powerful and important, Colin responded to the other Card. "Yes, that does seem a bit...uncharacteristic of someone of that social standing," he responded, before realizing a moment too late that Sabe was talking about himself...this was only confirmed by the slump of the other Queen's neck. His life must be pretty messed up if he was ready to turn to drugs, when he seemed more intelligent than that, and certainly more hard-working, given how far he'd raised his rank.
"I can't even imagine," Colin murmered, studying Sabe with what would appear to be sympathy, but was really growing unease. He had a bad feeling he was about to get the heron's life story, whether he wanted it or not.

Sabe notted the unease of the avian that was sittin next to him. He knew that telling of ones past experiance was one of the things that shouldn't be told to strangers and the such. Bah... he was just looking for someone to talk to, and who knew? Make a friend if he could.
He just smiled, "Lets just say that my life has been in the bottom of the deepest vally, lost my ability to fly, lost my mate, and my business." the heron said rounding up his life story in that one statment. He wanted to just do something about it and had found the means to. He remembered many people from his past that enjoyed the drugs, and that was the reason that he might have tried them out now.
He peered up to Colin his neck a bit straiter and his smile back on his face. "You know what Colin? If you were a club and if I made Queen in the courts I could have used you around to help me not make bad decisions." he said with a bit of a laugh feeling the aura that his white wings produced. Sabe was feeling selfconfident again. He was sure of himself, and yet... well he had spent all that money on the drugs and now didn't have a way to regain that money... he might just sell it to that one squirl that he had met a long time ago... Zub? yea that was her name.
"You'll make a great addition to any court you attend with that level head of yours. I assure you on that one." he said standing up looking at something in the distance. "I think I see a bar not far from here, wana join me for a drink?" he asked smiling at him, his eyes glitterning a bit.

A look of sympathy flitted across Colin's features as Sabe briefly summed up how much his life sucked. This was actually a rare thing for the avian, who truthfully couldn't understand loss or hardship well, having had an easy life so far, though you wouldn't know it from all the complaining he did. So usually he would just roll his eyes at the sob stories of others...it was why he didn't enjoy the company of Torques, as a rule. And yet...the heron wasn't just giving a sob story. He was giving three...and all of them could be equally devestating.
"Wow. That's...awful. I am so sorry, Mr. Sabe," he said, the words ringing true. He briefly eyed the extra set of wings the heron had, pegging those as the cause of at least the lack of flight. Though they were rather pretty, he had to admit, all white and feathery...
He refocused on Sabe's face as the heron began talking again, and...his eyes widened, the feeling of power coming back in a rush. Wow. That...that had to be the highest compliment he'd ever been given, and from a Queen, no less! He knew he should respond, but the giddy rush of the praise was making it hard for him to formulate a proper response. He opened and closed his beak a few times, which made him blush when he realized how stupid he must have looked. Finally he regained his voice.
"Thank you! That...thank you for those kind words, and I hope to one day be worthy of them!" He bowed slightly, beaming. "Hm? Oh, yes, a drink would be lovely," he exclaimed, still feeling giddy and important and all sorts of other lovely things. He stood up as well, prepared to follow the heron. Normally he didn't really drink alcohol, but this was a special occasion, and the cardinal felt that it merited at least a glass of wine.

Sabe just chuckled at Colins reaction to the praise that he had bestowed upon the avain. It made himself feel great just seeing that his words had that effect on people. Though, he hadn't expected it to come out just like that though, but it was ok, the desiered effect was evident. The way that he was speachless was kinda quite and nice at the same time, power of words were quite nice when wilded with the right hands.
"Your welcome Colin, and their will not be that one day... it will happen just watch." he said opening both sets of wings about to head out, it would have been easier to fly over than it would have been to walk. "Are you ready to fly... it will take shorter time than walking all the way through that jungle of land lovers." he said with a large smile on his face and more of a chuckle.
Who knows... he might have just made a friend in Colin. If so then it would be his first friend that he had ever really had. The drinks might just help the cause, or make a blunder of himself... for he was quite the drinker for hard liquers.

Colin could have shouted for joy at the praise, and at how much the heron believed in him...more than even his own parents ever had, as much as they loved him. They gave him compliments often enough, but they seemed to think of him as inevitably low-ranked. Colin would show them. Just because some of his uncles had been too lazy to make something of themselves didn't mean HE was so lax in his ambition! But instead he settled for grinning at Sabe, and spreading his wings. "I was born ready," he laughed, feeling wonderfully daring and giddy and important. "Isn't that the truth, hm? Why walk when you can just fly?"
He pumped his wings a bit, preparing to take off...when a thought struck him, and he looked over at Sabe. "Not to bring up painful subjects or anything...but I thought you said you lost the ability to fly?" Perhaps he had learned to compensate for having double wing sets? If so, that would be very cool, especially giving how lovely the second set was.

To show that he had full ability to fly did the heron extend both sets of wings to their fullest. The edges of the pristeen white wings were tipped with peacock feathers that hung in the light, seeming to look at everyone and everything. They were his most prized possesion now.
"It is the reason that I became a biped... just so I can fly again, hoping that it would help with the enchantment that was placed on me." he said as he bent at the knees and jumped into the air pumping both sets powerfully pushing himself up in a near vertical flight, he then tilted and took off twoards the bar hoping that Colin would follow.
Once there did he stop and wait for the avain to come on his way... having two sets of wings gave him quite the manuvrability and the speed where he could push more air behind than just one set.

Colin, nodded, awed as he watched the gorgeous display of those wings...the way they caught the light, and the 'eyes' of the peacock feathers. It made him pause, just watching the way they caught the light for a moment...wondering where he'd gotten them, since from all he said they weren't natural and...OH! Sabe was flying off! Quickly, Colin flapped his single set of wings, lowering his head and moving as fast as possible in the same direction the Queen had gone, though he couldn't catch up with how fast Sabe was.
He landed next to the bar a good five minutes after the other had gotten there, and he bowed to him. "Sorry, I...couldn't keep up with you. Once you're able to use them, it seems four wings are better than two," he quipped, grinning slightly. He felt a little winded from his flight, but not to the point of it affecting him overly much. He actually felt rather energized; nothing like a short flight to get your blood punping. He looked up at the bar.
"You been to this place before?" he asked, still feeling that odd confidence and giddiness. Normally he wouldn't set foot in a place like this, but now...he thought he could handle it.

Sabe had waited watching for Colin as he watched behind him. He didn't mean to leave him behind and all. He just wanted to get here as fast as possiable and show off his wings that Colin seemed to like a bit. He smiled as he watched his approach, never once looking at the bar or the bouncer that stood by the door waiting for their entrance. Sabe hadn't even noticed the three standing their. He was a spade and he well.... din't really care too much for spades, but Colin was all right.
"I'm sorry that I have left you behind, I thought that you might like the wings and I just got exited about the drinking with a friend." he said with a shrug as he walked to the bouncer. He appraised the bull that stood their in his biped fourm, his arms crossed over with large metal bangles with spikes covering them, it looked like he was a slorian by birth and a warrior by trade. Sabe wasn't afraid nor timmid about the bull at all.
"Good day Mike, I see that your still here after all this time." he said to the bull that had looked as if he wanted to rip your head off until the next moment that he was smilling and clapping the Heron on the shoulder.
"its good to see ya, Sabe." he said in a gruf sounding voice. He then looked over to the other that was with the queen, "You with him? If so welcome to the Dancing Pony. A gentalmens club." he said smiling then turning all sorts mean looking again, like a good bouncer would.
Sabe turn back to Colin, "You can say that, colin..." Sabe had visited this place many times in his younger days, always being a good member of this private club.

"Not a problem," Colin grinned, shaking his head at Sabe. He HAD enjoyed seeing the wings...and plus, he swelled even more with pride upon being called friend to the Queen! That was quite an honor, even if he wasn't titled. The cardinal turned and eyed the bouncer, somewhat wary. After all, he was only a Five, and didn't have much in the way of fighting ability.
Luckily, it seemed he knew Sabe...which let Colin anticipate the heron's answer to his question. He nodded to the bull. "Yes, I am with him. Thank you for the welcome, and we promise not to cause any trouble." He offered him a smile, always one for manners even when talking to people like that, and waited for Sabe to enter the building first. Especially since he knew it. "Good, then you can recommend a drink for me," Colin answered, laughing, all of this putting him in a rare good mood. "Not anything too strong, if you please, I rarely drink."
