Sabe watched the other bird, smiling when he seemed to flush all over. A avain notices these things about others of their breed. It showed in the eyes. He couldn't help but smile as Colin reminded himself of a younger Sabe, growing up full of life and dreams. Though he hoped that he could help shape it, making it better than his life had been after he had left the Forest. He got startled when Colin raised from his seat and bowed before him, being all polite and rigid about it. He couldn't hlep but blush at his comment.
He now had a friend indeed. Something that he hadn't had in a long long time. Who knows, he might have just made his one and only friend in the whole realms. Even Isolde and himself never really talked any longer. And she had been his lover for quite some time, the one woman in all the realms that had torn his heart out and stuffed it away in some little place where no one else could see it. Then dating Alderles, a doe of a man, no backbone nor any selfrespecting quilities.
"Thank you Colin, your friendship means soo much to me. I couldn't even begin to tell you how much." he said bowing his head to the bird that sat across from him. It was a rare treat tonight and he wasn't going to let if fade away. He called over the waitress and asked for the rest of the bottle of wine that had served Colins own glass, and a bottle of vodca.
"Tonight we shall be friends and enjoy eachothers marryment!" he said rasing a freshly pourn glass of vodca mixed in with the rest of his bevrage from the one before. He never really liked beer... it was too fizzy. "Tonight we will also get some sweet comfort only provided by the best their is to offer." he said as a finishing note, peering over at another of the dancers, the fine Highlander.

Colin grinned wildly. "And yours to me, Sabe. It is an honor to call you friend!" he proclaimed, though he thought he might have already said that. Was he repeating himself? He actually made a light chirping noise that might have embaressed him normally, but he had already finished most of his glass of wine and it was quickly going to his head. He smiled at the waitress as she poured him another glass, and then turned back to Sabe, beaming.
"You can say that again, friend!" he said happily, also following Sabe's gaze and...predictably blushing again, though the grin never left his beak. Raising his glass, he turned back to his new friend, eyes sparkling with alcohol-enhanced emotion. "I propose a toast!" he cried, "To our newfound friendship, and this lovely establishment. May neither fade into obscurity or lose its luster as the years pass them by!" He did have an embaressing habit of waxing a bit poetic when he was tipsy, and it seemed that was coming out now. It didn't take much wine to get him to this state.

Sabe smiled to Colin, raising his own glass and clicking it with the other, "Here Here!" he said after the clink. He then downed the bevrage that he had concoxed. It went down like liquid fire, a burning sensation that burned the whole way down... which was pretty bad for him. His neck was about two foot long afterall.
He laid the glass down on the table as he coughed a bit as he smiled up at Colin, the booze dancing in his eyes. He knew too that he couldn't hold his drink that well either, though, he was going to attempt to take it slower just so he didn't frightened the other away. It always started well and then something would happen and the other might just leave. It was really hard to not to mess up.
And when Sabe got drunk... magic start to fly, though not the bad stuff just things that would look pretty and nice.

Colin tipped back his glass, downing a good bit of the newly-refilled wine. Then he set it down with a sigh and a happy grin. "Sabe, I forsee wonderful things in our future," he proclaimed, waving a wing in emphasis--another unfortunate drunken habit, as he was already a bit clumsy and had a tendancy to knock things over when he gesticulated. Luckily, this time it was only a few napkins that fell harmlessly to the floor. "Together, we shall fly forth into a golden future, where the honey and wine flow freely, and where the Queen of Hearts themself will admire us."
Then he laughed, bringing a wing to his forehead, and gave Sabe a disfocused, would-be reproachful look. "Sabe, I think you've gone and made me drunk," he accused him, but winked to show he was only kidding. The world was suddenly a wonderful place though, and he felt far happier than he did while sober except while playing piano.

He watched as the napkins fell to the floor as a feather would have dropped, painfully slow. He was then cought in the emotions that Colin was stating. He listned to what he had to say and nodded as he watched out for the feathers that were swung his way. He didn't want to be bashed in the face by fluff tonight. Well... maybe a little, but not from Colin...
He smiled at the avians last statement, laughing with his sweet musical voice. He wasn't a singer, but almost all avains carried that trait. Though, if you consider bird calls a song, then he must have some tallent. He leaned over and poured a bit more vodca in his cup letting the smell wafe over himself. "You know what Colin? I do belive that you are getting a good buzz and might not realize that your getting drunker by the minute. Maybe you should slow down a bit or drink something a bit lighter, like Blush Wine." he said on a finishing note emphising the drink. It would taste like honey and was mostly a drink to serve as desert. It was sweet without being too sweet.
He tipped his glass sipping the beverage. He was getting a good buzz and he didn't want to get too drunk either, but he was getting giddy. He looked Colin in the eyes as he spoke, "So, do you like magic?" he asked as he smiled raising his hands a bit.

Sabe was right, Colin's head was very muddled, and only getting moreso...which could be evidenced by the overly large grin he sported at Sabe's statement. "If you think that would be best, my fellow avian compatriot," he proclaimed, with another dramatic wave of his wing. He squinted, then, as if trying to recall something difficult. "Maybe...maybe I should take a bit of food, I do believe that helps with these things..." He couldn't remember the last time he'd eaten anything, though it couldn't have been all that long...but he was having trouble focusing his thoughts. He DID know alcohol was worse on an empty stomach, though. He smiled, proud to have rememered this useful fact. "What dainties d'you recommend, Sabe? Something sweet, but not too sweet, would suit, I believe."
His eyes widned a bit at the question, and he blinked. "Do I like magic?" he repeated, fuzzy thoughts moving much slower than he would have liked. "That depends on if it's being used against me or not," he decided with a small laugh. "Why?" His gaze flicked down to Sabe's hand...and he jerked a bit, as if he half attempted to get up out of his chair and half tried to lean forward. A few stray feathers fluttered to the ground. "Oh! Oh, what sort of magic are you going to show me, Sabe? Nothing too dangerous, I hope."

He nodded to Colin as he pointed at a menu that was on the walls. They did serve many things here, though nothing too fancy, it was after all a gentleman club. He moved his hand an motioned for the waitress to come over. He ordered two servings of baked salmon with a bit of basle and lemon. He would then move his hands back to where he had had them at. " Well, I be showing you something that is kinda cool." he said as he smiled and closed his eyes attempting to remember the words for the spell. It was a very special spell that couldn't be casted by another. It was something handed down from parent to child. Walk with me, as I am See with me, as I am Fall with me, as I am He said the words slowly and concentrated on the ball of light not wanting to blind the new friend that he had created. He was doing this with pure joy of magic. He smiled at him letting the small glowing orb fill the room with light. A light that was quite bright and comforting. It was really nice. He usually used the spell to make the area to glow so he could see at night, expecialy when he delivered things during the nights. Most of his spells were defencive only. He didn't have anything really to hurt anyone, just to stall them and give him time to escape or help those around him. Which meant that Colin would be safe around him. " So what do you think? Or should I do some more magic?" he said with a smile moving the ball of light over the birds head with a wave of his hand. ♣ Small Magical Ability ♣ This ability can only be taught to another through favors or from one parent to one child. The parent can only ever teach it tone child and doing so loses them the ability forever. This magical verse:
Walk with me, as I am See with me, as I am Fall with me, as I am
As seen above, when recited will call to the SD a small ball of light that can be used to either light the way if it is dark, or in a fight. If used in a battle, it will fly at the face of the opponent deemed most threatening at the time and blind them for a span of time no shorter than five days, sometimes longer.
This spell can only be used once per week.

Colin turned to squint a bit at the menu, finding the words blurred together a bit. That was disconcerting; perhaps he was worse than he thought. He opened his beak to ask Sabe what he recommended off the menu (had he already asked that? He could remember right at the moment), when Sabe apparently decided to order for them both. He blinked a bit. He didn't usually eat fish, but he wouldn't mind having some right now, he found.
"Thanks, Sabe...maybe you should also order me one of those..." He waved a wing about a bit. "...those drinks you were talking about before. The milder ones. It sounded lovely, and my cup is once again empty." He glanced down at his wineglass with a slight frown.
But his attention was fixed on Sabe as he was about to do a spell. The cardinal watched, wide-eyed, as his friend recited a simple poem and...a ball of light appeared. He'd never heard of a spell like that before! "Sabe," he breathed, staring at it as it moved about in obediance to the heron's hand gestures. "It's...beautiful. Like a miniature star cast down out of the heavens...though not as bright of course." He smiled, watching the bobbing little glow. "Oh, well, if there's more you wanted to show me..." He tilted his head thoughtfully. "You know, I, myself, can do a bit of magic as well. Nothing nearly so fancy as that, but..." He looked at Sabe questioningly.

Sabe let the ball hang in the air for some time and then went to place it just above the table for the duration of the spell. He smiled at Colin that sat across from him and knew that this spell was unique in many ways. It could hurt the card that was before him, or just look pretty and light the area. He didn't want to hurt anyone, that was not him at all. Sabe was a perfect medium. He smiled and then spoke to him, "Well now their is much I can show you, but some of it needs a target, though I do have some simpler ones that would make things float and others just well..." he shrugged at the last bit and smiled. "I don't have any spells that hurt, just ones that keep bad people away from me and those that I consider my friends." he said with a bit of wave of his hand as he summoned the waitress to serve them more drinks. He ordered picture of mild ale for the two.
"So show me some of your magic, if you don't mind." he said as he watched the other avain with all trusting eyes. For all he knew, Colin could have a spell that would turn all his feathers into a icy blue color.

Colin's eyes remained fixed on the little ball of light until Sabe spoke to him once more, snapping him out of his dreamy state. He turned to offer him a guileless smile. "Well, you are welcome to use me as the target for any spell that will not cause pain or permanant damage," he offered, nodding as he heard Sabe was somewhat of a pacifist. That made sense, but at least he didn't refuse to fight. He seemed just as determined to protect those he loved, even without doing anything lethal. The cardinal could respect that, for sure. At least, that was what he would have thought if he was sober. At the moment he was more preoccupied with shining balls of light and what else Sabe might be able to do. It sounded fun to float...just...effortlessly hanging in the air and looking down on the room...all the pretty little waitresses scampering to and fro like small ants...
Oh? His magic. Right! "Watch this!" he cried excitedly, thrusting out a wing and knocking over his wine glass, sending it shattering on the floor with a loud crash. But this didn't seem to upset him; instead he only grinned wider, and then narrowed his eyes at the remains of the vessel, crest feathers raising in concentration. After a moment, the pieces began to reform, and he held out a claw to catch the newly repaired glass. Not a crack remained to show it had been broken, and Colin grinned over to Sabe.
"Exhilarating, is it not?" he commented, fluffing his feathers excitedly. "I learned that one after an accident that nearly cost my mother her favorite decorative serving platter. We saved quite a bit in replacing glass in the house after I discovered that wonderful little ability." Drunk as he was, Colin had no idea he had just revealed to the heron that he was often a bit clumsy.
Small Power: He is able to repair shattered glass objects back into their original form with only a thought once per week.
