Heike was staring rather meaningfully at the blank canvas in front of him. He had done quite a bit of reading, he had messed with accounting, which left him to his painting. He had wanted to paint for quite some time now, but he kept on staring blankly at the same tanned canvas that he had stretched. He could still do quite a bit of work. There was a pile of things to do here and there. But he really wanted to paint. He sighed as he set down the charcoal. It wasn't going to happen as long as he couldn't concentrate. Blowing the particles out of his fur he decided that he might as well visit Seena. Normally after they had a nice little chat he could at least do something other than worry about nothing. And then he could talk to his sister, and perhaps visit Rhosyn to see what she was up to. And then see how the new little leveret Layla was doing? It sounded like a logical plan. The Jack slipped out of his study and headed for Seena's room.

Seena's life had gone through a lot of changes recently. From seeing her old Warren attacked by a roving band of Leverets and...-something- leading them, to being auctioned off like the property she was, and just when she'd resigned herself to a completely new Jack, she'd seen -his- face among the crowd. She could never remember being happier in all her life as at that moment, when Heike had come to rescue her and whisk her away, just like the prince in those silly fantasy novels she'd read while very young. (She usually tried not think of of them, now, as it quite embarassed her she'd been reading such silly books, as nothing like that could ever happen in real life...except that it had). She'd only been here a week, but it already felt like home. More like home than the Range ever had and, heck, more like home even than Selkie, despite the denseness of the surrounding forest. There was a lot to organize and do in such a new Warren, and with so few workers, and Seena relished the chance to try and help organize everything. Heike was amazing, all she'd ever hoped for in a Jack, although she sternly told herself not to fall for him head over heels. After all, that would be silly, especially when she wasn't his only Doe, and never would be. Especially when, not matter how nicely he treated her, she was still his property. That was just reality. But of course, the fact was that sternly telling herself not to do something didn't usually help in the end. That day, as Heike came to her room, she'd be organizing. There were many things in the Warren that still didn't have a proper place, and Seena, with the help of a book of course, was carefully sorting through a few odds and ends. It was the sort of thing the Leverets didn't have time for, not when there were so few of them, and to Seena it was rather invigorating in any case. She looked up at the sound of the door opening, and immediately brightened, smiling as she recognized the handsome, antlered head of her Jack. " Good morning, Heike," the Doe said, setting down the oddly-shaped vase she'd been appraising. She noticed a look in his eyes, one she was familiar with by now, that meant he was distracted or worried, generally. " Something on your mind?" She tilted her head, brushing a strand of blue hair out of her eyes with a paw. ((ooc: hope this makes sense...XD))

Heike tried his hardest not to look like he was a nervous wreak half the time. He brushed his fingers through his hair before opening the door. He shouldn't worry about all the little things when everyone around his was perfectly capable.
When he slipped into the room, he brightened at the sound of Seena's voice. Heike was never one to admit to anyone how he felt about people. But it was clear in the way he acted around Seena that she was important to him. Nadja had mentioned something once or twice when they were drinking tea together. Or perhaps he was simply easy to read because his sister knew him so well? The anxiety, though, anyone could read.
It seemed to vanish when she asked the question. "Good morning, Seena," he said as he clicked the door shut behind him. "Nothing much. Just the usual anxiety of getting everyone comfortable and making this place more like a home."
He glanced around the room with a curious expression. Things looked like they were going smoothly in here. "How is everything going with you?"

Seena settled a bit more towards the edge of the couch, leaving room for Heike should he care to join her. She wasn't sure exactly why he came to her today, but she was pleased with how often he did so, and for reasons other than just the Need. (Not that she minded that, of course, but there was more to life than that, after all). As far as she could tell, he actually enjoyed her company and her wit, and that was all she'd ever really wanted in a Jack. Take that, Father! Ha.
"Ah, I see. Anything you need me to help with? Or anything you want to just talk about?" She thought she'd make the offer. After all, she was committed to helping keep the Warren running smoothly, as far as she was concerned, and she was glad Heike didn't expect her to just sit around on her paws all day and do nothing but look pretty. That was the sort of life she dreaded ever having to lead. She was sure it would drive her crazy if she had nothing to do all the time.
"Everything is going well here," she said, and waved a paw over the table at the various objects sitting there. "Just taking note of all the miscellaneous things around the Warren, I suppose. Though, I mean, it's nothing too pressing." She shrugged lightly, marking her place in the book with a strip of parchment and shutting it with a satisfying -thump-.

The Jack did enjoy her company. She was more than just the stereotypical Doe obsessed with being better than the rest. Seena was interested in her own goals, so to speak, and had her own ideas and opinions. It was nice.
He watched her carefully as she spoke, taking a seat on the couch when she moved over. His ears twitched when she asked the question. Really he just wanted to check up on her to sooth his nerves... but they could have a nice talk. He could actually try and relax for once. The thought made him smiled. "I think just talking would be nice. I seem to have no idea how to relax, and I figure that you could help me figure it out."
Leaning back into the plush sofa he visibly relaxed when she confirmed that everything was going well. The room had quite a few things scattered around it. It wasn't messy from a logical standpoint. For someone with a perpetual need to keep everything in order it might have been a bit terror inducing. "Thank you for helping, it's quite a bit of work for Nadja and me."
It was probably wrong to refer to his sister by her name. But at the moment he wasn't playing a game of social tango, he could be candid. Seena was someone he could actually trust. He tilted his head to the side after he heard the thump. That looked different from the last time he had seen her reading. "You've started a new book already?"

Seena couldn't help a happy little tail-wiggle when Heike sat down next to her. The warm, furry weight against her side was very comforting, in some ways. She knew it was rather taboo for a Doe to actually have her own opinions and ideas about things, but Heike didn't seem to mind, and the two of them had a level of comfortable familiarity that somehow managed to be everything Seena had ever dreamed of when she was younger. She nudged lightly at his arm, trying to coax it around her head. After all, if he wanted to relax, a little snuggling might help, as silly and romantic as she felt for wanting something like that.
"I'll see what I can do, though I seem to have trouble relaxing myself," the Doe said wryly, nodding to all the objects and books around the room. Then again some things were relaxing to her that would be work for other Rabbits.
"Of course, anything I can do, you know that," she said, smiling up at him, and then her lopped ears perked forward a bit as he mentioned the book. "Ah! Well, this one isn't really for pleasure...it's...more of a research book." She pointed to the title with a paw, in bold black print on the yellow cover. How to Organize Your Warren in 30 Days or Less[/i], it read, and in slightly smaller print beneath that, A Guide to an Orderly Workspace for all your Leverets. Seena shrugged, watching for her Jack's reaction. "It was something I picked up while...well...you know." She glanced down for a moment, still a bit scared to speak of her experiences being captured, for all that it shamed her to be so affected by the experience. With time, the feelings of fear should fade, she knew...she hoped.
Seena looked up with a smile after a moment spent recovering her composure, though it seemed slightly more forced. "I thought it might be useful while we were getting everything sorted out." And her...captor...hadn't minded parting with it, apparently pleased enough with the price he would get for her to be 'generous'.

So she was having a bit of trouble too? A small sigh escaped him as he looked at the Doe with a curious expression. How was she feeling after the entire ordeal? She didn't want to talk about it, that was for sure, and he honestly could understand why.
He glanced at the book title when she pointed it out. Oh ha, that was terribly useful at a time like this. The rabbit was more than a little surprised that someone had actually written a book on the subject matter. He nodded at her comment, leaning closer to wrap his arms around her in a hug.
It seemed like the right thing to do. Having arms made things so much easier, but it still took quite a bit of getting used to. "Has it given you an useful tips?" he asked as he loosened his grip, but kept his arms lightly wrapped around her. "Making everything work smoothly is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, so every little bit helps."

Seena's teeth chattered in a quiet little Rabbit-purr as he put his arm around her, and she readily snuggled in. She'd been feeling...a bit more easily tired lately. She figured it was all the stress from her ordeal, and just part of getting settled into a new Warren. Her paws easily rested against his side, one looped over his leg in a position she hoped he'd find as comfortable as she did.
"Mm, well, when you came in I was reading the chapter on avoiding useless clutter. It was describing how to recognize a genuine treasure that makes for tasteful decor and is fit to be shown off to visiting Jacks versus what items are really just junk." She shrugged, glancing back at the neat piles she'd been making. "Sometimes it's a bit hard to tell, even with the guide. Not that I'd throw anything out without asking you first, of course," she hastened to add. "And most of what we have seems to be fairly worthwhile anyway...except, perhaps, for this." The Doe gestured at the vase on the small desk.
Senna tilted her head up at Heike, shuffling so she was more on her side. "If there's anything in particular you want me to look for in the book, let me know? There's a chapter on which tasks can be ignored or put off if your Warren is a bit short of Leverets at the moment, but I haven't quite gotten to that one yet."

He wasn't about to complain about being uncomfortable. It was nice to cuddle up besides someone, and it wasn't like she was making him sit in some awkward position to compensate for the cuddling.
Avoiding clutter. That was something that he was all for. No point in hoarding things that were utterly useless. That also explained the piles in the room. He glanced to the direction of the vase. His eyebrows arched as he looked at the piece of ceramic. In all honesty he had no idea where it came from, and had no attachment to it what so ever. Was it something that Nadja had picked up or...? "I can't see any use for that vase, unless we just use it to decorate on of the guest rooms."
His ears twitched at her question. Actually the chapter she was talking about might be useful. "If you get a chance, do tell me about that chapter. It could make organizing things go a bit faster. Less stress all around."
Heike lightly brushed his fingers through Seena's mane. His expression mildly perplexed. "You look a bit different... though that could be my imagination."

Seena nodded, looking at the vase in question with some amusement. "It's not magical in any way, and as for decorating guest rooms, well, we have several other vases that are much more, shall we say, aesthetically pleasing." She nodded lazily towards one of the piles, where there were indeed several more vases, these ones a more normal shape and in colors of green and blue, perfectly suited to a Warren in Avington. "So, if you like, we can get rid of it. The pile in the corner..." She tried to twist to look at it, but upon finding out she'd have to move too much to do it, just settled back down against Heike. "That's the one of other things I've put into consideration for getting rid of." It would mostly be odds and ends, and even one or two things that had gotten broken in the move and didn't seem to be easy to repair.
Seena nodded eagerly up at him, though the warmth radiating off of his body was making her a bit sleepy. "Yes, I will! I can read it tonight, perhaps...or tomorrow." Her eyes were starting to slip closed, soothed by the touch on her mane, when he said...that. She shifted, looking up at him in some alarm, blue eyes suddenly worried.
"What do you mean, Heike? Different how? In a bad way?" She tried to keep herself from panicking. Had her captor done something to her without her noticing? The Doe shivered a bit at the thought...
