He still was not sure what he thought about his daughter dating no less living with Wyn. While he seemed like a nice guy he would need a little time to adjust to the idea. Looking around he admired the apartment. It looked warm and inviting, decorated in plants -some of which he could even recognize -and glass figurines.
While resting his arm on the arm rest of the couch he spotted one that was on the table next to him. Looking closely it only took him a moment to recognize who it was.
Was that Ez?
She was happy that their fathers were finally going to meet. Hopefully everything would go well.
Hearing the second knock she looked over toward Wyn. "I will get it!" She hurried to answer the door. "Mr. Theofilus." She chirped happily in greeting, standing back so he could easily make his way inside. "How is everything?"

Eilwyn was struggling with coffee mugs and didn't hear a thing. He might as well make some fresh tea for Dad while he was in the kitchen. At least he knew where the teapot was.
The sparrow smiled at the girl. "It's nice to see you again Elyse." He paused as he took a step inside. Taking in the apartment he replied, "Oh, everything is busy as usual. I'm happy that I could come today without being late. I hope everything is going well for you and Eilwyn today." Theofilus was in a good mood despite his drama at the shipping firm. He was going to meet this Aderlass person that he had heard so much about. How many of his sons had met the man and he had only heard his name?
Eilwyn finally came out of the kitchen with a coffee cup and a tea cup on a tray. Hopefully Dad wasn't here yet--oh! He was already in the apartment! That meant he had to do introductions and all.... maybe he should leave it to Elyse?

"Well now that everyone is here we should probably do introductions. Um . . . where to start? Papa this is Wyn and his father Theofilus. Theofilus is currently The Queen of Diamonds. Mr. Theofilus and Wyn, this is my Papa, Aderlass. My Papa is currently The Queen of Clubs." Well that was awkward enough of an introduction, though she supposed not many people would be able to introduce their family with such honorable titles.
He glanced closer at the glass figurine. It was Ez.
Hearing the other male enter the apartment he glanced over at him and paused. This male looked very closely in appearance to Ez . . . not to mention Zane . . . and he was old enough to their father . . .
Brushing the thought aside, it was impossible after all - surely there were other Selkie Lake Sparrows wondering around - he stood up to properly greet him.
He held out his hand "It is a pleasure to met you Theofius." If they had been at Court he would have been more likely to use his title, but considering that this was more of a family visit he hoped to keep it more personal. No reason bringing Court matters into this . . . at least not yet.

Eilwyn was thankful for the introduction as he went to set the tea and coffee on the table quietly. Thankfully he was on his Dad's blind side and Ader seemed to be focused on Dad for the time being.
Theofilus shook Aderlass' extended hand. "It's a pleasure to finally meet the man that I've heard so much about." Of course the sparrow didn't mean court matters, but Aderlass wouldn't know anything about that. Prying information out of his sons about the man had been one of the most difficult things he had done in a long time. And he had only managed most of it by chance because Ezekiel's guard had been down when he read the newspaper.
Eilwyn finally decided to pipe up. "I have coffee and tea ready." He had set Ader's cup near the spot where he had been seated, while Theofilus' cup was placed in front of the armchair directly in front of Ader's cup. Elyse's place was next to her father, and Eilwyn's was across from her. Hopefully this would all work out.
Once everything was settled Theofilus looked at his son with a questioning gaze. There was a pause in the conversation so he could take advantage of it. "Do you know if Ezekiel and Malchiah are back on speaking terms? Ezekiel won't tell me a thing."
Eilwyn shook his head. "Ez is just being stubborn I guess. Malc never really talks to anyone but Zane and Ez...or I'm just never in the right place or time."
The sparrow looked slightly crestfallen, but he quickly covered it up. "Sorry, I'm just so busy recently Eilwyn has to help me keep up with some family matters."

"Thank you" He thanked Wyn as he took his seat. Coffee made everything better.
At Theo's easy talk with his son he carefully hid his shocked expression. Wait what . . . .
When Theo pardoned himself he gave a shake of his head. "Nothing to worry about. I know the feeling well myself." He gave the sparrow a friendly smile. "Though I hope you do not mind me asking. Would this Malc be the same sparrow that is currently helping me at the Club Court?" He hoped that the man would not take any offense to the question, but he had to know if what he thought was true.
Pulling her tea toward her she easily set about preparing it just the way she liked, offering the sugar and milk to anyone else who might need it.
Everything seemed to be going well so far.

Theofilus raised an eyebrow. Oh yes, Malc had been directly involved with the Queen of Clubs, hadn't he? Well this worked out very well didn't it? "Why yes, I imagine it is. He did mention that he was working at the Court of Clubs, and I can't imagine there are that many Sparrows with that name running around."
At least Theofilus hoped not. He really should have figured that Aderlass had met Malc, after all he head met Zane and Ez as well. How on earth had that happened anyway? He brushed it off as he put a bit of sugar in his tea. It was nice of Eilwyn to make his favorite blend. He might as well include the him and Elyse in the conversation--hopefully the eagle wouldn't be too uncomfortable. "So, how are you two enjoying living together?"
A dangerous question yes, but it would have been asked eventually.
"It's great," Eilwyn said as he picked up his tea and took a nice long drink of it.

So it was as he had just feared. If everything was true, and he currently had no reason to believe otherwise, he had slept with the Diamond's Queen son. Though he had not really be The Queen yet when it had happened.
Shaking his head mentally at all of it he brushed it aside. He could freak out over it later.
At Theo's question to the kids he narrowed his eyes slightly, taking it all in. While currently he had no problem with the two of them living together the idea of anything else happening was one that did not sit well with him as a father. Not that he did not like Wyn, just a father's instinct to protect was strong.
"It's wonderful so far. It was the perfect solution to both of our needs. Wyn needed somewhere to live and I was alone here by myself."

Theofilus was happy that Elyse could articulate better than Eilwyn. He knew full well that it was because he was in a social situation, but the Queen still wanted him to try to be a little sociable. "I'm happy everything is working out for the best. I hope things stay that way."
And he prayed to the sky above that everything would go smoothly. He hoped that Eilwyn wouldn't do anything that would somehow anger the Queen of Clubs. It was his little girl, and Theofilus suspected that the man was just as protective of her as he was of Eilwyn.
Of course, the sparrow knew nothing of the thoughts that Ez had given to the pair of them about relationships moving to the next step. If he had know... there would have been much wrath.
Eilwyn, meanwhile, continued to feel awkward and out of place. He really needed to learn how to be more sociable in pressured situations.... not like that would ever happen. He continued to drink his tea and try to focus on happy thoughts. Just.... please let everything work out.

"You both do seem happy." He noted with a sage nod. Wyn seemed to be a little on the shy side, but considering Elyse's nature as well it as probably one of the things that made their relationship worked.
Everything seemed to be going well between the two of them. The most important thing to him was that Wyn made her happy and would help take care of her. Taking a sip of his coffee, letting his mind wonder for a moment, he also noted that if their relationship worked out it could benefit both of their Courts.
(Many drinks and casual conversation was had. <3)
*time jump to months later*
"Here you go." Elyse said as she placed a cup of tea before Wyn. Months of living together had made her more comfortable with him.
Taking her seat next to him she easily rested her hand on his knee. "So how was work today?" she asked as she leaned against him.
