It was good news. He was just in shock. Mind numbing shock. At least she reassured him that her father wouldn't kill him. He had his doubts though. He knew how protective his dad was--even if his siblings didn't notice. What was Dad going to say about this anyway?
The eagle blinked. "Where would I go?" He asked. The thought of him leaving never really occurred to him. It's not like being pregnant was a problem or something to be ashamed of. It was just something different.... and it meant he had responsibility. Hopefully he would be able to handle it.
"No. How could I be angry at you for getting pregnant? It's my....fault too. Though fault doesn't seem like the right word..." He gave her a rather ambiguous look. It was something between confusion and happiness, he was really at a loss to describe his emotions. "What are we going to do though....? I mean I never expected this to happen and.... we're going to have to tell our parents sometime. And I mean.... do you really want to spend the rest of your life with me of all the Cards out there in the world?"

"I do not want you to go anywhere," she replied with a little more force then she meant to. She did not want Wyn to leave, ever. She needed him here with her.
Fault really did not seem like the right word. "Well I am not giving them up." That she already knew. No matter what was going to happen that was the one thing she was firm on that she had a decision in. "I am happy to be having your children. If you decide to stay around long enough," hoping to lighten the mood her tone would show the light teasing. "I would think of no one else I would want to spend the rest of my life with."
It was a fact she had known since the day she had met him.
"Of course our parents will have to be told. It is not something that they should be kept unaware of. Both of them will be glad over the news." Well maybe not at first, but it was a shock that they could get over quickly enough.

"I'm not going anywhere." Eilwyn replied, still filled with shock. He really couldn't figure out why he would leave Elyse. That would just be stupid. After all she was going to be a mother. His eyes widened a bit. He was going to be a parent. This was a difficult concept to wrap his head around and he probably wouldn't even grasp it after he became one officially.
"They'll be shocked at the very least," Eilwyn said scratching his beak with a talon. When things came down to it he was... well a cradle robber just like his Daddy--even if he would never figure it out. Not to mention the mass majority of his family thought he would never have sex for his entire life.
Surprise.
"So... you're pregnant. I'm going to be a Daddy. You're going to be a Mommy and... this is really happening." He said slowly. "This is really happening right?"

That thought had never really occurred to her before then. She was going to be a mommy. That idea frightened her a little, but it was more the new title than anything else.
She cuddled up to him, needing to feel his arms around her holding her tight. "I am glad that you are not going anywhere." She murmured, burying her nose at the base of his neck.
"It is all real happening." She continued just as softly. The two of them were going to have a family together. A family that was already growing inside of her. Well technically they were parasites right now by definition but that was besides the point.
"I hope they look like you." She was becoming tired, a nap would be needed soon if she did not fall asleep in his arms beforehand.

Eilwyn raised an eyebrow at her sleepy comment. He set his hand on her back, rubbing through her fur softly. Frankly, he would enjoy her falling asleep on his lap. Then he wouldn't have to get up and make plans for this entire situation.
"Funny. I hope they look like you. Your ten times cuter anyway," He said with a smile. And frankly, he hoped there wouldn't be that man running around.
Oh dear. What if they had his eye problem? What if... what if they had all of his problems. He choked back the worry for a moment. Honestly, this wasn't the time for that. He shouldn't worry about numbers, and math, and what ifs. He should just focus on Elyse and then informing everyone about what was happening.
He was going to be a Daddy. That was terrifying and exciting all in itself....
((OOC: Shall we have them "tell the parents" or should we have a quick plot discussion over AIM? ))

Feeling his paw stroking the fur on her back, she gave a happy murmur, cuddling against him even more. Maybe it would not be such a bad thing to take a nap on him anyway. He was like a living heating pad and blanket.
"Of course I am cuter," she replied matter of fact manner, a bit of smugness obvious in her tone. Playing with one of his feathers she continued on adding, "But you are pretty handsome yourself, you know." They would definitely make beautiful children.
Shifting her head on his shoulder so that she could look up at him, she gave a slow blink. "I suppose we should. How about we tell your father first?" While she was sure her father would be overjoyed at the news - once he knew what was going on - she figured Theo would take the news better.

Eilwyn smiled at her remark. People did compliment him before but it had always seemed so hollow. Coming from Elyse it was something else entirely. He snuggled closer to her--how that was possible was unsure--but he managed.
"Yeah. I guess we can tell my Dad first. He won't take the news that hard...." Eilwyn said with a small chirp. He hoped his theory was correct. Otherwise he would be having a rather rough time.

Theofilus was thoroughly confused by the sudden urgent invitation from Eilwyn. He apparently had some form of wonderful news to tell. This was an amazing fact in itself--because Eilwyn had never been very good at keeping secrets. No matter what he ended up saying what was on his mind. The sparrow sat on the couch across from the eagle and the mouse.
They both had something important to say? Where they going to take another step in their relationship? He took a sip of his tea expectantly.
"We have something really important to tell you Dad. Sorry I dragged you away from work but it couldn't wait very long." The eagle said quietly. He looked to Elyse for confirmation. They had waited almost a week to get a hold of his Dad. Was this the best way to tell him?

She gave Wyn a fond smile as she took up her seat next to Wyn on the couch. Looking across to his father she gave him a bright smile.
"How is the tea?" she asked. She had collected the herbs herself so the blend was a little different then he might have encountered before. At the reminder of why he had been invited over, though he was welcome here at anytime, she blushed. "Ah yes. Thank you for taking time to come." She replied shyly.
Glancing up at Wyn again she reached out and took his hand in hers. "We have some news that you might like to hear. Wyn, you should tell him."
It would do him well to be the one to tell his father. After his initial shock about the news, he seemed to have taken well to the idea of becoming a father. She knew that he had his own fears about doing a good job but she was more then sure he would make an excellent father.

"Oh the tea's fantastic. If you could share the blend I would love to take some to the palace with me." He said with a smile. He was still on guard by this news that was being so well hidden. Really, Eilwyn looked terribly tense. At least Elyse didn't look bothered. She was such a nice girl Eilwyn was so very lucky....
"Right. Right," Eilwyn said with a nod to Elyse. "Dad. This is very important news. I uh... well we.... we're.... Elyse is pregnant." There he spit it out. Not as eloquently as he had practiced in his head but it was out there. And he would never be able to take it back.
Awkward silence filled the room as Theofilus tried to process the information. "You mean you've already had sex?" It was more of a rhetorical question. He tried to cover up his surprise by taking another sip of tea. "I mean Congratulations! That's wonderful news!"
Eilwyn blushed. Gee. Thanks for the vote of confidence Dad. "We haven't told Elyse's dad yet so.... could you keep it a secret until then?"
Theofilus set his tea down and laced his fingers together. He nodded reassuringly. He was still trying to get past the fact that Eilwyn of all people had sex. "I suppose I shouldn't overstay my welcome...." he said as he rose up.
