Eilwyn blushed under his feathers. Family huh? That meant that he wouldn't be burnt to a crisp. He hoped.
It was a small comfort. It would take a while to get used to.
---
It was week later when a knock on the door came. Eilwyn had gone out for some groceries, and there was no announcement of any special visitors. Theofilus stood outside the door, a worried expression on his beak.
He had had a rather horrible vision concerning Elyse and her pregnancy. It was a good thing that Theofilus did have the ability to look into the future, otherwise they would be in quite a bit of trouble. Trouble being an understatement. If he didn't do anything about this Elyse would be dead and Eilwyn would be screwed rather nicely with the wrath of the Queen of Clubs on his doorstep. There was no way he was going to let that happen to such a nice girl and members of his family.
He really hoped that Elyse was home alone. Or at least she would be willing to go out and leave Eilwyn behind.

Elyse was just tiding the living room when she heard the knock. Puzzled over who would be coming by, other than it being Wyn with his hands full though he should not be back for a while yet, she went to answer it. Checking the peep hole she was surprised to see who it was. Opening the door she greeted him with a smile that was somewhat puzzled around the edges.
"Father Theo! Wot brings you here? Come in, come in." She held the door open wide and motioned with her other arm for him enter. Ushering him to the living room she quickly rushed to clear off a spot on the couch for him to sit. The apartment was no more dirtier than usual, rather books, plants, and other things were out of the usual homes and instead in piles around the house.
"Please excuse the mess. I was just in the process of cleaning. Would you like something to drink? Tea, coffee, water?"

Theofilus smiled. Putting on some good cheer. It was nice to see happy people that didn't have a laundry list of horrible problems. Yet anyway. "It's nice to see you Elyse."
"It's not a mess at all. I am sorry to interrupt, however. I just needed to talk to you about something terribly important." He said the smile twitching breathy. "I think I'll have some tea, if you're not to busy that is, could you join me in a cup?"
How exactly could he explain what he had seen without causing too much trouble. He frowned slightly at the thought of what he had to told her. He glanced around the room, double checking to see if Eilwyn was home. He probably would have come out by now. At least he still had good timing.
He waited until the tea was in front of him before speaking again. "Have Eilwyn ever told you about my Queen ability, Elyse?"

Elyse tilted her head to the side in slight confusion over his words. Something seemed to be bothering the sparrow though he kept it well hidden. If she did not know Wyn so well she doubted she would have looked for any of the subconscious aspects the eagle had picked up from his father.
Giving him a calm smile she gave a nod of her head. "I will go make some." She made quick work of heating up the water, preparing their cups. Once the kettle had reached boiling she quickly filled the cups, the sweet aroma of the sparrow's favorite tea filling the kitchen.
Bringing the cups back into the living room carefully she scooted around a few piles before placing the cup before him. Taking her own seat she blew gently on the liquid before taking a small sip.
When the Queen started with his question she was once again confused. Tilting her head to the side again she quickly tried to recall if her mate had ever said anything to that nature."I do not think that Wyn ever mentioned it."

Theofilus sighed. Thanks a lot Eilwyn, this made his job just a little bit harder. The sparrow took a long sip of tea before speaking again. Trying to find the proper words. Really, it was probably easier just to blurt things out.
"It sounds impossible but I have the ability to see into the future." He said with a weak smile before taking another sip of tea. "And I saw something rather awful when I looked into your future."
That was a bad way to start things, wasn't it?
"You have to see a doctor immediately, and then you have to go on bed rest. You will deliver two months early, and you will need a doctor right there when delivering." He turned his cup in his hands a few times. "It sounds drastic, but what I saw was awful. Please believe me when I say you need to do this as soon as possible."

She kept an open mind when he proceed to explain just what it was that he was able to do. Seeing into the future did not sound all that far fetched. She was just about to ask more questions on just what it was he could do and how, her interest captivated, when he continued on.
Wait . . . what?
She was a little befuddled over what was being said to her next. "Wot . . . wot is wrong?" She asked, worry obvious in her tone, one of her paws going instinctively, protectively to her abdomen. Why was he telling her that she needed to go to see a doctor? While she was not specialized in pregnancy surely she would k now if something was off right?
And he wanted her to go on bed rest? So early in? And she was to deliver two months early?
Sudden worry swamped her. Could her children survive being delivered so early?

He should have brought Calia along. She was good when it came to things like this. He set the tea down and shook his head. He wasn't good at this emotional thing.
"The children are rather special. I can't exactly explain what I saw, but they were fine."He paused. How exactly was he supposed to explain that she was going to die if she didn't see a doctor. This was just an awful situation to be in. Sometimes he wished he didn't have his Queen ability at all.
But then there would be a lot more problems.
"The vision I had was about you Elyse. This pregnancy is going to be a strain on you and...." He prayed for all the Diamond charm in the world to help him right now. "Elyse if you don't see a doctor you're going to die. There was no mistake in my vision. It didn't want to tell you while Eilwyn was around because that would make things... worse, the way he panics. I'm sorry I can't think of a better way to tell you or explain."
Oh he really wished Calia was there. Or Kelasia. Or Ez. Anyone at this point (besides Eilwyn) would have a better way to explain what was happening.

Elyse listened carefully as her father-in-law tried to re-explain what he was trying to tell her. With a shaking hand she took another sip of her tea, hoping that the herbal remedy would help calm her. This was nothing to worry over, they just had to talk of what he saw and from there they could figure out what to and not to do.
Taking a deep breath she gave Theo the determined look that she often gave Wyn when he started to worry over things. "Can you . . . can you tell me exactly wot it was that you saw happen to me?"
While she could do what it was that he suggested needed to be done, it would only cause her extreme worry not knowing if by doing so she was doing something else that would cause the same end they were trying to prevent.

Theofilus stared at Elyse, his good eye visibly twitching in a rather unusual manner. She honestly wanted him to describe what happened to her in his vision? He would rather not remember the awful image that was so vividly painted into his mind.
Was she absolutely positive she wanted to know that?
"What I saw was something I don't exactly..." He sighed. "I really should have brought Ez with me. This was the worst idea I've had in a long time."
He wasn't entirely sure what he wanted to do. How could explain that her uterus exploded because her children were sharp and pointy. At least from what he saw in the horrible mess of a vision.
"You delivered two months early because the four children you're giving birth two are, not only large... but have interesting mutations. Enough that your uterus couldn't take the strain. You didn't think anything was wrong even though you were a bit larger than you thought you should be. And... then you went into labor. A doctor came in time to save the children but there was too much damage to.... save you." He glossed over a good deal of the details. "Elyse, I can't stress enough that you need to believe me."

She was shocked by what he was telling her but she soon fell into the role of healer, listening more to the details of what she was being told than the emotional level of all of it. When he had finished telling her what he had seen she made a soothing motion with her hand in the air.
"No worries, no worries. I believe you." The hand that still rested against where her children were growing clenched a little, as if that action alone could prevent what was foreseen.
"I know of a fellow doctor who is really good. I will get in contact with him and ask him for a consult over the matter and see if he can be on call for the birth." And they would have to hope for the best. "Oh!" She said suddenly as something occurred to her. "Wot should we do about this matter and Wyn?" While he more than deserved to know the whole truth, and she would detest outright lying to him, she did not think that Wyn would honestly be able to fully handle it.
