Peaches let out a rather sharp sigh. Stupid girl was just a kitten still. When would she actually grow up and understand? She gave a small growl, shaking her head as she listened to her daughter. Unbelievable.
"Eldryia, meet me in my office. That's not a request." Peaches said flatly, turning back to her daughter briefly. The voice and use of her full name should be enough to hint that she meant business. The consequences of not listening would be far worse than what would normally happen when she was caught spying. It would be a repeat of the time she came home with a hangover and had used Peaches' name to get drinks. It was an offense that was never repeated, and if Eldy had any future places of making an ass out of herself, she would regret being born.
This could be the hormones talking, or just the pent up rage. Either way she made her way to her office with haste, and once she was there she waited for her daughter.
Crossing her legs she glanced at some of the paper work with malice. She really was going to kill Seth if these were his. The more she thought about it, the more the times seemed to line up. Damnit. Damn. It.

Eldy paused, staring wide-eyed at her mother, looking very much like a scared, lost kitten. Which, somewhere inside, she still was. Despite her age and all the horrible things she'd seen (she used to spy on her father in the dungeon, after all!) her mentality was still that of a teenager, at best. Perhaps this was one reason it would be good for her to get out of the palace. To lose her 'safety net' of her mother, who would yell at her for her stupidity (like with the whole drinking thing) but still give her a place to hide until it was better.
But for now...she winced at the use of her full name, knowing this was serious. She stared at her mother, more confused than ever, and still with paranoid worries and suspicions darkening the corners of her mind. Was she going to tell her? Yell at her? What? It wasn't until Peaches had dissapeared around the corner that Eldy shook her head and followed, silent pawsteps taking her to the door of the office.
Eldy poked her head tentatively into the office, eyes falling on her mother. "I'm here, Mom," she mewed quietly, waiting for permission to enter.

"Get in, close the door. Sit down." Peaches said motioning a covered hand at her daughter. She sighed and waited until Eldy had made herself comfortable.
"I'm not holding your hand anymore," Peaches began. "I care about you dearly, and I don't want you to get hurt. But you need to leave. You can't stay here forever, and if you want to find your dream do it outside of the Court of Hearts. It's just a bit of advice that you don't even have to follow. But please keep in touch."
She sighed. All right. She wanted to know what was wrong... she'd tell her.
"I'm pregnant," Peaches announced in a dull tone. It just made it all the more miserably true. "I'm... pregnant. And I just don't... can't deal with all of this. Now are you happy to know my secret?" A small whimper escaped her and she shook her head. She just wanted to curl up in a ball and ignore the world.

Silently, Eldy followed her mother's instructions, closing the door and then jumping up on a couch across from Peaches's desk. She still had a confused, nervous air about her as she turned very attentive eyes to her mother. Funny how the most important things her mother had tried to teach her had gone in one ear and out the other, but this she was actually listening to.
Some of the tension left her body as she listened to her mother's...actually very loving words. But she was still confused. Where was all this coming from...? Though she wouldn't show it at all, merely flicking her ears curiously, those words meant a lot. And she was absolutely right. Eldy needed to leave here. Not forever, perhaps, but for a while at least. "Mom..." she said quietly, but before she could get any farther than that, the secret came out.
For a moment, Eldy could only stare in shock. "What?" was all she could manage after several moments of silence. "You're...what? Wow..." It seemed so unreal...many emotions rushed up in her, a sense of satisfaction and gratitude that she'd actually told her, relief that it wasn't as bad as she'd been worrying (at least it was nothing...permanant or particularly life-threatening) and the odd thought that this meant she would have little siblings...
But that was when she realized that while she was gaping stupidly, her mother had whimpered. Her ears flicked back; so her mother didn't WANT more kids, obviously. Leaping as gracefully as her binding would allow off the couch she was at her mother's side, and akwardly placed a paw on her arm. It felt...really strange to be trying to offer comfort to the one who had raised her, when everything logical said it should be the other way around.
She wasn't sure what to say, however. So she just offered silent support, hoping her mother could accept some comfort from it.

Peaches could feel the pricking of tears at the edges of her eyes. The comfort, though small, that her daughter provided was enough to prevent her from bursting into tears. Of all the things Peaches didn't want, this was on the top of the list. She had never wanted children and she already had two... and a half. Now she was going to have more?
And what if one turned out to be.... an Ace? She whole body shuddered at the thought.
"Can you see... why I'm so upset Eldy? I was a bad enough mother for you, and now I'm going to have more kids. Plus... I can't imagine your sister is going to take this as well as you considering what's been happening to her recently." Peaches slumped in her seat as she looked over at her daughter. She carefully placed a gloved hand on the girl's head. "But I really don't want you to stick around. You have so much to do in your life that doesn't involve me."

Eldy stood silently, purple eyes looking up at her mother...wishing she could do more to help. Her beliegerance from earlier had all but vanished in the face of Peaches's obvious pain, and the surprisingly touching words she had spoken to her. Her ears were flat on her head with sympathy, and her paw rubbed gently on her mother's arm. She shivered slightly at the mention of her sister. Xiven had been...well, her life had really sucked lately. And it was taking its toll, it would seem. Not that she ever saw a lot of her sister anyway, but lately she'd been going out of her way to avoid her. Though...a thought struck her. She should at least say goodbye, if she was going to leave.
Hesitantly, she looked back up at Peaches. "Does...the father know?" she asked softly. She knew better than to ask who the father was, of course. "I was just...maybe he--or she, I guess--could help raise them?" Surely whoever it was would be more amenable to that than Pravus...and more accepting of lower ranked offspring. Eldy still didn't know about Fluffy, so the thought of an Ace never crossed her mind.
She nodded, slowly, as she got reminded again that she needed to leave. "I...I know...but you know I'll still visit, right?" She sighed softly. "In fact I...if you want, I can come back to...to see my little siblings..." It was still a very strange concept, but she felt she should make the offer. Especially if Peaches was going to be stubborn and try to raise them on her own again.

Peaches let out a small laugh. "No, he doesn't know yet." There were two options to who the father could be. But with the timing and doing the math there really was only one possible outcome. And in all honesty she didn't like it. Not one bit. In fact it made her furious.
She didn't want anymore children popping out of her.
"They probably would love to help. Doesn't mean I'm going to let them." She said flatly shaking her head. Being spiteful was the wrong thing to do, but she honestly... wasn't sure about any of it. Things were just so painfully complicated.
"Of course you can come to visit. I wouldn't stop you. If I did, what sort of mother would I be? I'm just saying... don't feel obligated. I can help myself," Peaches said quietly as she glanced down at her daughter briefly before glancing back at the door. Was someone coming? Or was that her imagination?

Eldy looked up at her mother flatly, not surprised by this answer in the least. When would she tell the father, then? When she was too far along to hide it? When the children were actually born? She tried to keep down her curiosity about who the father was...much as she would dearly love to find out. If it was someone around the Court, she'd probably spied on them before.
She frowned slightly at her mother's stubborness, but it wasn't her place to try and convince her to do this intelliegently. Heh. Like she'd listen if their positions were reversed. In some ways, Eldy took after her mom. "Ah," she said, her tone conveying that she was resigned to that, although not really approving. Then again, she didn't know the whole situation. It was probably a bit more complicated than that. These things always were.
"I suppose you can," Eldy said, somewhat skeptically. Still, she was definitely going to come visit once the kids were born, and help if she could. By then, she might have some stories to tell...of the many odd people she'd met or spied upon from afar. The thought made her ears perk slightly, before she noticed her mother's glance toward the door. She turned as well, ears now going forward to see if she could hear anything.

Peaches wasn't entirely sure what to take from what Eldy said. She shot her an almost glare before turning back to the door. It lightly clicked open, and a head popped in through the crack. It was Xiven with a rather worried expression on her face. She glanced at her mother and what she could see of her sister. Clearly they were busy, but this didn't really stop her. Yes she had been in an awful mood. How could she be back to normal after such a short time. Her life was falling apart around her, and the Courts were becoming nothing but a hellish mess. She was going to snap a few shades if anything else went wrong. "Are you two busy...?" she asked in a voice all too quiet for Xiven. Peaches shifted uncomfortably, and just hoped that Xiven hadn't heard anything. "Eldy, do you want to have some tea with your sister?" She asked in a way that meant, "Please stay." Xiven didn't slip into the room fully, she did have a small tray in hopes they would be willing to have some with her. She needed company.

Eldy fluffed up slightly as that familar head poked through the door...but she tried to force herself to calm down. After all, Xiven didn't look angry right now, she looked...sad. She moved to the floor, turning to fully face her sister, expression slightly unreadable. Somehow, it was hard for her to really feel sympathy for her sister...yes, what happened to her sucked, but from what Eldy had heard about what happened...it was partially her own fault. Some childhood jealousy also still ate at her heart; at least Pravus had known about Xiven. Cared about her. Still, she knew far better than to voice any of this aloud, and she turned and nodded at her mother. After all, she HAD wanted to spend a little time with her sister before leaving the Court.
"Tea would be fine," she mewled in a quiet voice, but for her that was normal. She jumped onto the couch again, settling in and making sure her binding was out of the way.
