It was a good thing Eldy kept the thoughts to herself. Otherwise her sister would have pounded her into the ground. It was partly her fault, but no one seemed to understand that the few things she cared about were taken away by Lior. And that one person that she had trusted more than life itself had left her for him. It was pain that she couldn't see through.
She came in with the tea tray, carefully setting it on her mother's desk. She poured the three cups, and let her mother and sister decide what they wanted in their tea, if anything at all.
Peaches felt awkward. She knew the pair of them didn't always get along, and the tension in the room was almost unbearable. She knew that Xiven was depressed, which was a rare sort of thing, And now Eldy was going to leave. It was probably a horrible time to mention that she was pregnant.
Change of subject time. "Eldy's going to be going on a trip soon."
"Oh, where are you going?" Xiven asked as she sipped her tea.

Eldy accepted the awkward silence for what it was. She concentrated on her tea, carefully balancing her paws to add a few spoonfuls of sugar to it before lapping at it. She only had her animal form, and they were family, so she didn't feel bad about the slight lack of manners. Her expression would seem to indicate she was relaxed, but there was a tenseness in her muscles, as if she expected to need to run if her sister got violent. Of course, she hoped it wouldn't come to that, especially with Peaches there.
What promised to be a polite conversation was a welcome distraction, and Eldy looked up at her sister and shrugged. "I don't really know," she answered, fidgeting with a spoon on the desk. "I just...need to get out of the palace for a while." Her eyes glazed over slightly as she thought about it. Where WOULD she go? To hear her mother and sister talk about it, her home region of Torquehelm was really not all that great, and would probably just depress her more. And Tulgey was out, she'd promised her Mom that and she could do that much.

Small talk was a nice relief. "I hear the Lakes and Midori are nice," Xiven said quietly as she fiddled with her teacup. Her mind briefly debated on if it was all right to pretend things were all right. Peaches was clearly stressed, Eldy clearly didn't want anything to do with this. So why was she playing this game with them?
Oh screw it. Time to be blunt.
"What's going on?" Xiven said as she set the teacup down, giving both felines look that could kill.
Peaches wasn't sure if it was intentional not. She shifted under her daughter's gaze. Honestly, she didn't know how she would take to having more siblings. It was bad enough that she hated most of the other children related to her and had apparently kicked her half brother to... something not quite totally unlike death.
"Do you think we should tell her Eldy?" Peaches asked her other daughter, to at least get a bit of the negative attention spread between the pair of them more evenly.

Eldy nodded distractedly at her sister. Though really, considering she still wasn't all that fond of water, those two regions weren't exactly on the top of the list, despite being popular vacation spots due to the mild weather. She lapped a bit more tea while considering an answer, not really wanting an awkward silence.
Before she could get her thoughts in order though...the other shoe dropped. Eldy carefully avoided meeting anyone's eyes after that question got asked...until her mother decided to try and involve her. Eldy's ears went back and she gave he mother a rather affronted look.
"It's YOUR secret to tell," she protested huffily, and then turned to look at her sister. How would she take the news? It was hard to tell. She tapped a paw on the couch nervously. "She'll find out sooner or later, though, I'm sure," Eldy sighed, remembering her own thoughts on the issue.

"Oh yes, but I thought you would like to be a part of it. Family and all that--"
"Stop stalling, mother," Xiven said flatly as she glared over her teacup.
Peaches visibly flinched at the forceful term of "mother." It was the one thing she never got used to, and having it pop out of Xiven's mouth like it was acid never really helped smooth things over. She glanced from Eldy to Xiven. Both of them had managed to come out so differently she had to wonder how they were related at all. And now there would be an addition to the chaos.
"I'm pregnant," Peaches said with the largest smirk she could muster.
It took a moment for the words to sink in as she held her tea cup up, awkwardly in the air. Xiven's eyes narrowed and her head tilted to the side as she tried to comprehend her mother's incomprehensible words. It was something unfathomable that she had never expected.
The word flew out of her mouth, much louder and much more high pitched than she had expected, "WHAT?!"
(( OOC: ;_; sorry it took so long ))

((ooc: It's okay! Life has been eating you. *hugluff* ))
Eldy opened her mouth to protest Peaches' words, but her sister did it for her, and with such venom that she was a little surprised. Even though she knew Xiven could be quite vindictive when the right occasion struck, seeing it directed at their own mother was a little...disconcerting. It could be her that was the target of Xiven's wrath, next. She merely blinked at her mother as she met her eyes, shrugging slightly.
She unconsciously shrunk back a bit, more into the couch, as her mother broke the news, looking oddly smug about it for some reason. Already, she anticipated her sister have a bad reaction...and she wasn't dissapointed, the loud shriek making her ears flatten against her head in protest. She took this oppertunity to return to the earlier subject of conversation, though.
"I still think you should tell the father and get some help raising them," Eldy put in softly, though not expecting her mother to agree to lay her pride aside to ask for help any more this time than the last.

Peaches watched in mild amusement as her daughter struggled to comprehend what was going on. Her expression changed, however, when Eldy spoke up about the father. That would probably put ideas into Xiven's head. Awful ideas that Peaches would have liked to avoid.
And there it was, the look on Xiven's face.
"Who is the father?" She asked, looking her mother in the eye.
Peaches shifted uncomfortably. Well, she wasn't exactly the most monogamous of people, and Xiven knew that. "There are three options, but I've really narrowed it down to one person..."
"Who?"
"You're not going to like it."
"Who?"
Peaches held her breath for a moment. Xiven's wrath was going to be utterly ridiculous. "Seth. Seth is probably the father."
"What?" Xiven hissed rather loudly, slamming her hands on the desk. "The father of your children is my father in law? Do you realize some places consider that incest!" "Said you wouldn't like it. And anyway, it's still only speculation."

Eldryia was not honestly sure what she had expected...Xiven's question was certainly not surprising, though. The fact that Peaches actually answered the question was, however.
"Seth?" Eldy repeated, eyes narrowing for a moment...before widening in recognition and dawning realization, even as her sister hissed in a way that made Eldy shrink back slightly, despite it not being directed at her. She remembered Seth, of course. The Solandrian bat was rather hard to forget, after all. She even remembered meeting him...vaguely. She'd been rather drunk and only half conscious at the time. And she'd thought...well. A faint blush rose to her cheeks, luckily hidden under all that fur...and then...a look of disgust followed as her mind went to unpleasant places concerning the cause of the children her mother was now carrying.
She shook her head at her mother. "Seth...from what I remember, he's a decent guy. I still say you should tell him and get some help raising these kids." Yes, she was going to be stubborn about this, and she raised her head proudly to look Peaches in the eyes. "After all, it's partially his fault too!" She knew her mother may have some odd habits of questionable moral standing, but sleeping with people against their will wasn't one of them.

Peaches shrugged at Eldy. "It's mostly my fault, really. I was the one who walked into a threesome."
The gagging sound Xiven made could only be matched by the sound of someone coughing up a hairball. The mental image of her mother in a threesome was something she honestly didn't need. "Mom!" Xiven said shaking her head as she ran her claws through her fur.
She stuck her tongue out at Xiven briefly before returning to the serious matter of telling Seth. "I suppose I really should tell him. I just have no idea how he's going to react. How am I supposed to tell him anyway? He already has a plethora of children... I have no idea if he wants more. And better question how is Heilyn going to react to her Hubby having babies with another woman?"
Xiven arghed again as she retook her seat. Her tea was ruined and there was no point in running around the rosebush. "I suppose I'll go with you so no heads roll... and maybe Eldy would like to help since she supports the idea of you talking to the father as well."

Eldryia's face contorted in disgust again, toes curling and tail fluffing out as her mind was assaulted by yet more mental images she did not need. She yowled unhappily, matching her sister's unhappy cry of 'Mom!' with something a bit less intelligible. But as her mother continued, she perked back up, whiskers twitching.
Was Peaches actually being...reasonable? Well finally. It was about damn time. An eyebrow went up in thought. "Well, probably the same way she'd react to him having babies with another man, if the rumor mill is to be believed." She had seen some...interesting children running around the palace. Well, before most of the children were cleared out of the palace, of course, after the change in leadership. It almost made her wonder...but no, that wasn't a subject she cared to think any farther on.
She shrugged slightly at her sister's suggestion. "Sure, I'll come." Yeah, she'd heard about Heilyn's famous temper, and seen it in action before as well, when her spying happened to lead her that direction, but after watching her father in the dungeons on numerous occasions, not a lot fazed her. At least, she didn't think it did.
