The blush kept itself on his face and he cursed himself. What would she think of him now? He wasn't too keen to be found rude, he knew better than to be rude most of the time. He poured some more tea for himself as well and took a sip, trying to relax and searching the words that would make up the short apology he owned her. He doubted if it was needed, but it was better to be safe than not. Thus he entered moments later yet again, an awkward expression on his features "I apology for my abrupt departing.." He spoke, not offering a reason, just the apology. Was it sad that he was unbelievable proud of himself now?
He laughed softly as she spoke those words, his form relaxing even further as the purr reached him. He liked the sound of it "True, true.." He commented lightly, shuddering at the idea of putting vegetables in his food. He didn't mind them that much, but he rather had only meat. Having the Torque as a guest was a perfect excuse for doing so. He had no one that would frown at him if they noticed, so there was no reason why he would consider her an excuse. A shrug and he started on his own bowl, closing his eyes. He always could enjoy things like this, made by his own two ha- wings.

Eldy flicked an ear at the apology, not overly concerned. He was definitely an odd Card, but she didn't really mind. After all, with her crazy life and crazier family, what the hell did she know about normal? Probably less than Captain Obvious himself did. He had a cozy place...Eldy wondered, if she were in his position, if she would have been kind enough to offer a cold, wet Feline shelter for the night. She would hope she'd have at least that much sympathy for someone else, but she'd never been put in that sort of position before.
Perhaps she should invite others to the palace more often, now that she was officially living there (or was she? This adventure didn't count as being officially kicked out of the nest, did it? Most likely not...) and actually had...friends.
What an odd thought...a difficult concept, yet deceptively simple in practice. A few kind words, a bit of time spent together, a bit or crying or touching, and two Cards were suddenly close.
"Are we friends, Angavar?" the question was out before she consciously realized she was going to ask it, and Eldy ducked her head, a bit ashamed of herself. "I mean...I'm not sure what I mean...I just never...had many friends before..."

He actually blinked at those words, were they? He didn't know. He hadn't exactly friends before, not that he recalled though "I.. don't know." He replied, a frown briefly knitting eyebrows together "I think we are.." A light shrug and he continued on with the plate of food in front of him. He paused at the next words and looked up "Neither had I." He almost seemed shocked at those words out of his own mouth and a blush stained his cheeks once more "So, I guess we can try?" He offered, it would be a nice change of things.
He noticed then with some irritation that his plate was empty. He didn't shot a look at hers, but nonetheless offered "Would you like some more?" He questioned softly, getting more comfortable doing so as time passed. It didn't seem that this Torque wanted to rip him apart, it was always a plus side in his book. The prospect of having a... friend, seemed too nice to be true as well. He, unlike his usual self, wanted to stay as long as he could in this dream, if he could. It was the only logical explanation, right? This being a dream?
He didn't know why someone would willingly spend time with him otherwise, not that he really cared with his asocial behavior. But as said before, a change like this in his dreams was a nice change.
[OoC: I almost say 'poor Angavar' D; ]

He didn't know? Angavar didn't know if they were friends or not? Eldryia's ear flattened against her head and she frowned to match his own. Her first response to his continued hesitation was to get defensive, snap at him sarcastically...and subsequently ruin any chance she had of actually being friends with him. The Feline bit her tongue to keep it reigned in, letting the Hawk finish.
She was silent for another moment. Why did he seem so...weird about it? Yes, she knew it could be a complicated concept at times, but it wasn't like they had to get approval from some outside source to be friends! There wasn't some golden standard to aspire to. They were just two Cards who would greet each other in a friendly manner were they ever to meet a second time. All it took was a willingness to make it work, and that really went for a lot of things in life, including friendships.
So...the Torque shrugged. "Then we are." It really was as simple as that, and so Eldy went back to lapping up the rest of her soup broth. Just as she'd finished the last of it, licking her lips to clean whatever drops got on her muzzle fur, Angavar asked her another question.
She looked up at him, and then back at her bowl, considering. She had no idea how long it would be after tonight when she'd get a chance for a hot meal, and it always was easier to sleep with a properly full belly. "Sure, that'd be great," she told her new friend, pushing the bowl his way with one paw.

[OOC= Sorry, got swamped with schoolwork of a sudden T_T;; ]
The hawk had to smile as she stated that and nodded his head briefly "Yeah.." He continued himself, eyes turning away from the Torque lying on the ground "We are then.." The smile broadened briefly, before he bend down to pick up the bowl that she had shoved toward him and walked back to the small comfortable kitchen.
He leaned against the counter and the smile faded, wing propped against the top of said counter What am I doing? He questioned himself, once more feeling quite uncomfortable. He wasn't a nice card and yet here he was, talking like nothing was amiss, like nothing had happened before, like he hadn't been hurt in the past. It was a nice change, but it was also unsettling. He shook his head slowly and once more filled the bowl for the Torque, it wouldn't be good to let her waiting for too long. He would be a rude... friend otherwise. Wow, he still wasn't used to that word, even not in his own mind he was comfortable with using the word that easily. He always thought of himself as someone that never would know the joys of it. His family had taught him that well.
He finally returned and gave her the bowl back, not looking directly at her as if ashamed that she would be able to see in his eyes and see the horrible Card he truly was and leave that instant, never to look back. But she had offered to be his friend, so maybe she didn't care for this? He let out a mental sigh, he should stop himself about worrying on such things. He should try to make the best out of this, besides, when did he worry about something as small as that?

His smile was relaxing, and Eldy felt the last vestiges of hesitation brought on by wariness vanish. Maybe Captain Obvious was just as ignorant of social norms as her, somehow...heh, yeah she could see that. Living by himself up here in the mountains, practicing his instrument and making soup. It was a mental image that would have been amusing had she not been able to relate to it so well. Not that she could play instruments and make soup, but the loneliness was a constant companion. She'd used to think that was fine, that she liked her space and her privacy and she didn't need anyone else.
That had been folish of her, she now knew. She'd been dismissing something before she fully understood it, not conscious of what she was lacking because she'd never before experienced it. Friendship was, in some ways, still as new to her as it most likely was to Angavar. As the Hawk returned and she smelled the fresh hot soup, Eldy shook her head, sitting up and pushing the curious contemplation of her lackluster life out of her mind. Late nights alone by the fire made one too reflective. It was almost like being back in Torquehelm again. Ugh.
She lapped eagerly at the new bowl, but her ear twitched as she caught a dejected sigh. She turned and found her host avoiding her eyes. Had she...done something wrong? Misjudged him somehow? She wanted to ask, but found the words stuck in her throat. So she went with what she knew and hoped it wouldn't make the situation worse.
"If you're pining away for the summer sun, you've got a long time to wait." Always with the jokes. She kept the wince from her face and hoped to the hills it went over well.

[OOC= this is getting ridiculous. First school and then parents are being difficult, so again a late reply *sigh* I really hope the next one will be a lot quicker! ;; ] He watched her for a moment as she attacked the bowl with just as much eagerness as before and it almost put a smile on his features, the muscles felt a bit cramped already though so he had to withhold from it and just shake his head for a moment to shake the thoughts away that had invaded his skull and still tried to make him smile. His thoughts turning to the negative again as he reflected on himself, just like her it seemed. They made a good bunch, a social-stunted Villa en Miir hawk and a Torque cat. A short laugh escaped him as she spoke once more, realizing that he had been staring off in the distance and the sigh that escaped him wouldn't have helped things along if he knew something about it "So I realize." He answered her then as he nodded his head lightly, trying to lighten his own mood before he dragged himself further down and her possible as well "Yet it is better to hope for these days than to despair for the cold days still to come." He tried, hoping it didn't sound too awkward coming from him. He ran it over in his own mind, before shrugging lightly. The meaning was clear, in his eyes. He almost despaired, thinking about the time that he had to mingle with a lot of people again to get some food. It didn't help that he would somewhat miss her, he didn't knew her for long, but since she was a friend.. he was still unsure of applying that word to anyone, he had somewhat the feeling he would miss her. She had showed how it was to have a companion near him which he could talk with. He still somewhat preferred to be alone, but she seemed in no way the type to invade in his life and try to change it and that was what he started to like about her.

Eldy's whiskers twitched in mild amusement at the answer (because that was the easier bullet to bite than to actually focus on the meaning of his words. The invitation to further self-reflection was pushed aside). "Well, I didn't know you were a philosopher as well, Captain," she teased, curling up and tilting her head to smirk at him. She could get used to this. For being a bird of few words, Angavar was actually not bad with bantering. From her limited knowledge, at least.
She lapped a bit more of the soup, and then...decided she was tired of the silence and dancing around the bush. "Look, Angavar..." She paused, tail lashing in mild agitation. "If something's bugging you...we can, y'know. Talk about it?" The words sounded a lot less sure than she'd meant them to, and the Torque glanced up at the Hawk's face. "I mean, we're friends now, and all..."

He laughed softly again in answer to the smirk that appeared on her features and shrugged a shoulder absently "I have my moments," he retorted, wondering briefly once more why the 'Captain' was used. He knew it, but he didn't really want to acknowledge it. He didn't think of it as negative, just a bit awkward. The laugh faded in soft chuckles "Who would have thought?" He continued for a moment and gave her a brief grin in return.
He blinked as her tail lashed out and as his name passed her lips. "Ah," he was almost startled as he noticed that he had indeed acted like there was something truly wrong. He tried to not let her worry though and smiled lightly again "Just thinking a bit too much." He answered, before sobering up "I'm.. just afraid to mess everything up, I guess." He spoke again after a few moments of silence "Messing up this conversation, that is."
A brief shrug "Nothing to truly worry about, really." Okay, that was like irony. He was worrying about it, but she shouldn't. It was something that he should find out, the conversation had been going well, as far as those few words spoken could be called a conversation. It eased his mind that it had been going so well, but now the awkwardness returned full force and he shifted briefly again.

He was afraid to mess up the conversation? Eldy blinked a couple of times in surprise. But when she'd initially seen that look, he had been silent...there had been no conversation to ruin! Her ear went back, wondering if he was being entirely truthful with her, but then...could she honestly blame him if he was lying? For all that they were friends now, they still didn't know each other that well. Still, Eldy wanted to believe the best of him. Maybe the Villa hadn't wanted to begin the conversation again, worried he'd say the wrong thing. She could relate to that. Hadn't she herself felt anxious about how to ask him what was wrong, for Light's sake?
He'd also said he was thinking too much, and she could relate to that as well. But what had he been thinking about? Their friendship? His life up here on this mountain? She shook her head. Here she was, worrying about silly things, even though he'd told her not to worry and she had no reason not to listen. Again, almost hesitantly now, doubts clawing at her mind like small Momes, Eldy broke the uncomfortable silence.
"It's fine. You don't need to worry about messing anything up...it's just me! I'm not anyone important." Okay, that sounded a lot more self-depreciating than she'd meant it.
