He noticed that she had noticed that he wanted to say something, the ear pressing itself back against her skull was a huge give-away. He just smiled at her, trying to reassure her that it didn't matter, that he didn't mind that he was 'interrupted', if he hadn't been. He wouldn't have known what to say otherwise. He would have known the words, but not be able to speak them.
It wouldn't change, at least not in his part. He was content to let it go its course as it was going now. Okay, the interruption was maybe not a too nice way to go about it, but even he could see the truth in them. He felt tired himself and if he had stayed awake longer he would have truly done foolish things.
He looked at her doubtfully, he didn't want to be rude and just let her sleep on the floor. Her words however convinced him readily and he finally nodded "Alright." He finally spoke. He looked at the blanket himself, before handing it over to her. A soft chuckle escaped him "I suppose it's true." He commented softly.
He finally seemed to shake himself and smiled at her again "Goodnight." He turned to walk to the bedroom, already feeling drowsy at the prospect of the soft mattress and pillow and blankets. Ahem, he wouldn't have minded the floor either, but he hadn't the energy to argue and thus left it like this.

Eldy felt herself relax as the Hawk agreed. Really, it would be nice to sleep on the floor near the hearth, the warmth of the slowly dying fire helping her drift towards sleep. Really, though, she was tired enough that there shouldn't be any more time for her silly brain to think silly thoughts and keep her awake with random musings. She grinned, and took the blanket, slipping to set it close to the fire, but then turning back.
"Goodnight, friend," she said, with a nod. She flexed her paws, kneading the blanket a bit--it was a silly little habit, she knew, but she just felt warm all over right now--before rolling to wrap it loosely around her, and then curling up. Her eyes closed, and she purred quietly to herself at the warmth for a moment before the purr stuttered to a stop as true sleep found her.
Not a bad end to a snowy December day, after all.
((would you like to end it here or do a bit of the next day? Up to you!))
