Peaches watched as the other woman passed out rather suddenly after ranting about faeries. For once Peaches had actually out liquored someone. Of course, she hadn't even had half of her brightly neon colored drink so that would be a damn good reason.
She sighed as she slipped out of the booth, setting the money on the table for the waitress. It would be nice to have help carrying the canine, but you couldn't have everything. It was going to be a wonderful struggle back to the hotel wasn't it?

(( OOC: Hope you don't mind me skipping ahead. ))
"Are you ready?" Peaches asked as she straightened out her jacket. It wasn't going to be a long trip for someone who hand never been out of their region, and she wanted to make sure that everything was going to go smoothly.
Hopefully Xiven would be happy by the surprise.
"I mean it's going to be quite the trip carriage wise," Peaches said sing song as she waited for the florist.

((OOC: Of course I don't mind you skipping ahead. Sorry for the lack of reply for so long! Hope this makes up for it ^^))
Calanthe packed up the last of her supplies, which included: shears, several spools of ribbon, some unique vases (all wrapped up nice and tight in bubble wrap of course), and other odds and ends that she could present to Xiven. She wanted to make sure that Peaches' daughter had enough options so that she would end up with the perfect flower arrangement. And if there was something that she didn't have, she could probably find it within the Court. Grabbing the last bag with her teeth, she hefted it onto the carriage and breathed a huge sigh of relief.
"Whew! Sorry for the wait, Peaches. I've never had to travel this far for my work! All of my business has come from within the Gardens, so I don't want to risk leaving anything behind that may be of interest to your daughter." saying the last part with a smile.
"How long will this trip be, by the way? Just curious."

"Understandable," Peaches said in a cheery tone. Being away from home for the first time was always difficult.... unless you were a child at the time. For her it had been a nightmarish experience combined with joy.
This experience for Cal would be nothing but good.
"If we do a death march we can get there in a day. But I think taking it easy is the better solution so we'll just do it in two days. Once we get to the proper hotel in the Highlands we'll stop for the night. It'll be far more comfortable that way." Peaches grinned. And that way she could send Xiven a bit of a warning letter. Coming home from a random trip was one thing, but coming home with someone was something else entirely. And this way her daughter wouldn't suspect a cunning plot to hook her up with an adorable girl.

"A two day trip is fine with me! It'll give me a chance to take in some of the sights." she said with a spring in her step. "I believe I have everything I'll need for this trip all packed up, so I'm ready whenever you are, dear!" She jumped up into the carriage, and wiggled slightly with anticipation as she waited for the Torquehelm feline to join her. Soon thereafter, they set out on their journey to the Court of Hearts.
----
A short two days later, they rolled into their destination. Calanthe's eyes widened as she took in all the grand architecture of the Court. She wanted to say something to Peaches, but all the marble beauty around her rendered her speechless. It was a different beauty than the Gardens, but Suits was it gorgeous. The only thing that showed just how happy she was to be there was her mouth gaping open and her tail wagging in pure excitement.

Peaches felt rather ill as they went along during the carriage ride. Apparently the gardens were just as bad as everyone said they were. She had to choke up her ill feelings though, and present the lovely Yarrow Lady to her daughter. When they arrived Peaches hopped out of the carriage. And thankfully Xiven was waiting there for her like she had asked for. "Xiven!" She said cheerfully, "I would like to introduce you to Calanthe. Now you'll have to excuse me." Peaches bowed her head respectfully for a moment before trying to hurry off. "Wait, Mom, where do you think you're going?" Xiven raised an eyebrow as her mother continued to hurry away. "Sick. Will explain later." Was all Xiven could hear as her mother broke into a run. She was left with the Yarrow to deal with. She gave the woman an awkward smile. Honestly, what the hell was wrong with her mother? And what did she expect to happen? "I'm Xiven, and I'm sorry for my mother. I guess the trip didn't sit well with her."

Calanthe just stared after Peaches made her very quick exit, leaving her with her daughter, Xiven. She smiled a bit shyly at her. After all, they were just left here alone. Finally, she took a good look at Xiven, and concluded that she was a very attractive woman indeed. Her curves, the swish of her tail, her beautiful face...Cal shook her head to get her thoughts off of Xiven's body and onto introducing herself properly.
"I have heard of the Gardens leaving outsiders to come down with some sort of sickness once they've left, although I myself haven't witnessed it until now, so I was never sure if it was true or not. I do hope your mother will be alright."
She bowed slightly as she continued on. "As Peaches already mentioned, my name is Calanthe, and it is a pleasure to meet you. I am a florist by profession, and your mother tells me that maybe you'd enjoy some flower arrangements, which is why I have traveled all the way here to the Court of Hearts. I would like to get to know you better, first, before I proceed with making anything. I've heard that you like tea, so maybe we can enjoy a cup together?"

My, what a forward young lady. Xiven visibly perked up as she looked at the canine. She was a very pretty sort of person on top of her straight forwardness. A florist? Well that was a suiting profession from someone from Yarrow.
"Tea. That's an absolutely wonderful idea. And considering you've been traveling with my mother I'm sure she's let you have one of her blends. She's actually pretty good at making tea." Xiven grinned. "If you don't mind we'll have some tea in the garden? I'm sure you'd like to see the famous roses since you are a florist."
The feline's tail swished as she turned her back to the canine. She started leading the way, motioning for the two servants to take any bags or other equipment that was left on the carriage. "They're going to be putting all of your things in one of the guest rooms. If you have any special instructions you should tell them before we go."

Cal's ears perked up so she could listen to Xiven as she spoke. She realized a little too late that she may have rambled on a bit once she introduced herself. She hoped dearly that it didn't give the wrong impression.
As Xiven mentioned tea, Cal thought of how her first interaction with Peaches had started out the same way. Since that meeting had landed her here, she wondered where this encounter would take her.
She shook her head slightly to bring herself back to the present. She seemed to get lost in her thoughts more often these days. But the mention of roses got her excited, even if they were hard to manage.
"Yes, tea in the garden sounds splendid. I would love to see these famous roses as well! They must be quite the sight to behold."
Cal was prepared to walk towards the garden when Xiven mentioned her belongings. She thought about what she had brought with her, and finally decided that yes, her tools and other various supplies should be handled with care. She told the two servants this directly, as politely as possible, so as not to seem like she didn't appreciate what they were doing for her. She'd never been waited on like this before, and she wanted to make sure she didn't take it for granted.
"Thank you very much," she told the servants. She then turned back to Xiven and bowed again before her. "And thank you as well, Your Majesty. I've hardly been here ten minutes, and you've treated me with nothing but kindness. I really do appreciate all of this." she ended with a genuine smile.

Xiven couldn't help but smile back. "It's a rare occasion to meet someone like you, Miss Calanthe. You're straight forward, kind, and you're not afraid to speak your mind in front of royalty."
She started walking towards the path to the garden. Making sure that the Yarrow canine was at a comfortable pace. Honestly, it was surprising that her mother had come home with someone who seemed so very wholesome. Of course that was just judging from the first bit of conversation. But the way she walked and still kept her confidence it seemed that she really was a nice person.
The walk was brief as they came to one of the gardens. The legendary roses bloomed like they always did. Xiven paused for a moment as she took them thoroughly for granted. "The servants are going to bring the tea out to us. Is there any particular place you would like to sit. There are plenty of benches."

Calanthe blushed deeply at the Queen's compliment, and bowed her head slightly, so that Xiven couldn't see her crimson cheeks. She knew she could ramble on sometimes, but she was glad that the feline thought her babbling was at least polite. That is what she strived for while holding a conversation with anyone, regardless of rank. Although if they were male, that was a different story altogether...
As Xiven lead the way towards the garden, Cal made sure to keep a good pace while taking in her surroundings. The Court was a stunning sight to behold. Once they reached the garden, however, that made her mouth gape open in pure amazement. The roses growing throughout the place were in every size and color she could possibly imagine. There were several hues that she had not seen in a rose before, and quite frankly, she couldn't wait to get her paws on them. She dearly hoped that Xiven would want some of these gorgeous flowers in her arrangements. Her tail now began to wag, she was so excited.
So she wouldn't appear too dumbfounded by the floral beauty around her, she turned to Xiven as she blushed again. "These roses are quite beautiful, Your Majesty! They certainly take my breath away as I continue to gaze at them."
Cal then padded over to one of the many benches that Xiven had pointed out, and only sat down once Her Majesty had done so first. Once they were both comfortable, Calanthe ventured to ask another question of the Queen.
"If you don't mind, Your Majesty, could you possibly tell me how such colors were cultivated in these roses while we enjoy our tea? I am just intrigued as to how these came about."
She hoped again that she wasn't being too forward as she sat waiting for a response.
