The girl continued to paw at her eyes, only half-listening to the man's pleading. Over his voice, she could hear her brother shouting commands at something, the feline that had found her before speaking to the creature she had rammed, and above it all - the thing's horrible wailing. That was the worst of it all, and she just wanted to disappear. She had hurt it. It was not going to let her forget that. Not ever.
Slowly, she lowered her paws and looked up at Victor, her jaw set stubbornly (though her chin quivered, threatening tears once more). "I'll stay here." she said, and there was no arguing with her tone or her baleful expression. "I hurt it. If I came too close it might get scared. O-or angry."
And that just did not sound pleasant. Not at all.
Simun listened to the creature wail, his ears folding back slightly, a small frown crossing his face. "We don't know any Suvius..." he said quietly, glancing at the Lowlander. If only Ayden was here - he would know something, the boy was sure. At least, that was the impression he'd gotten from the man.
Still considering it, he trotted over to Victor's side. Then, as soon as he was there, he looked back at the wailing creature. "What is broken? Please, if you tell us, we can help better. Just... be calm." He repeated Victor's earlier question, but spoke in a soft, quiet voice. Since it seemed to be having the ink-monster version of a panic attack, he knew he couldn't let his frustrations with the whole situation explode out. Yelling would do no good. He pointed with a claw at the scrap of fur, trying to keep his fur settled across his body. "The colors are broken?" Then he shrugged, feeling foolish. "I dunno.."

(Ayden and his little group of four will be moving in to help Donnie, Mikael, and McDuck; over here for next posting purposes. -----> decadentsuits.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=spadecourtrp&action=display&thread=7318&page=16 ) (( Ayden nodded at the assertions. Time to find out what had happened here. Pausing to help Eurwen up, he whispered to her. "Intrepid hot-head, what did you find?" He murmured affectionately, giving her a small smile, before pulling out a cloth as they moved to wipe her nose clear of blood, a small magical solution in the cloth began to numb the pain of it. "People in there? Not when I was here last...things seem to have...gone awry in the worst of ways. Gods, I'm sorry for getting you involved." He hissed, as they turned the corner, passing the door they now knew was open; cries and moans of pain still ringing faintly from it. Chills rippling down his spine, he continued, on the lookout for guards and more Aces. The fact that they found nothing only chilled him further. The Ace had given Kamina and affectionate lick on the cheek, tail wagging hard enough to make its bottom shake. At her order, it nodded once, dully, before taking of to join the others in the lead; tongue lolling and seeming to be sincerely enjoying itself, it skidded to the front, causing Ayden to jump back a little in surprise and to avoid its bulk as it slid haphazardly around another corner, leading them deeper into the building, and down. As they ran, the shouts and screams ahead very abruptly died. Leaving the area silent. Ayden held out an arm as he spied a room, well-lit, and voices still quietly issuing from it. Gesturing for silence, he pointed, letting the Ace barrel on ahead. Calling the smoky dagger back to his hand, he gestured for Joavn to join himself and Eurwen at the fore, pointing to the room. From this angle, they could just see an odd, incredibly long-fingered creature and the strong back of a Wolverine Biped. The latter was covered in and drizzling blood, she also seemed to be growling faintly. The Ace spun into the room with the force of its momentum, skidding to a halt at the sight of Donnie and yelping at the smell of so much blood. It growled in confusion before backing its way over to the officer just as he slipped into death. Not seeming to understand this, and looking as though it recognized the man, it whined loudly, tail tucking as it took another glance at Donnie and nudged the dead man's hand. Ayden turned to the others. "Listen for a few seconds, see if they hurt the Ace. Id not, we enter and try to calm them down. Should that not work..." He nodded to Jovan, the young man knew what to do, he was proving to be an invaluable help. Watching and listening for the reaction, Ayden readied himself. His eyes, then widened, whispering lightly in Eurwen's ear, he pointed a little ways down the hall. A small curtain had been hung over something on an otherwise blank wall...underground? Odd.. "Right there, I was telling you earlier that they sent me through a door they found to the Capital? That's the one! We can get out of here once we've discerned what this little mess is." He gently squeezed her hand, watching their immediate danger once more, but feeling a sensation building in his chest...they had a means of escape!)) (( The Ace watched Miah's feathery tail warily, teeth still bared in that overlong jaw, saliva dripping from its fangs. Miah's vault over the Ace worked spectacularly, it hadn't expected any such feat and stared confusedly at the wall for a second, before snarling in rage and backpedaling, ripping a section of carpet up with its claws as it spun around and took off after him. It smashed into him and flipped, claws raking the Mouse's shoulder, before it found itself pulled forcefully forward. More weight than he had expected of the smaller creature, it was then yanked sideways and heaved! Giving a loud howl of fury and terror, it stumbled, tripping over the top step and crashing down two more before regaining any sense of balance. Blood dripping from where it had smashed a tooth, it leaped back for the Mouse, aiming for the Mouse, eyes burning. (8) Outside, the creature moans piteously at Victor when he turns back to it, its body beginning to hiss and bubble, as though boiling? It also appears to be shrinking a little. "Suuuuviussssss, mine...she wassss miiiine." It whined, something in it seeming to falter as it frothed and shuddered, one of its eyes rolling down the side of its body until it was consumed in the mass. "Myyyyyy partner, mine, ssssheeeee wassss mine." It whimpered, staring around blankly, before fixing its last eye on the Cat. "Broken...broken...so many piecessssss..... Tamisssssss, I was Tamisssss....she ssssaid that ssshheeeeee loved meeeee...foooounnnd meee after ssssso loooong..." It whined, before crumpling in on itself, boiling madly and evaporating at an alarming rate. Within seconds, all that was left behind was a small, gluey blob. Shockingly, it raised its head, whipping it around as eyes popped back onto the surface, much smaller ones though. It burbled quietly, before glancing up at Victor with curiosity. Slowly, it schlupped over to him and reached out a tendril of sticky matter to poke at him. ID: B05 out of 10 Species: Blobling Characteristic: Crude Oil
Notes: This little Blobling is highly elastic, and more of a thick, sticky substance. It is able to secrete a thick, bubbling foam that smells overpoweringly like motor oil whenever it feels that itself or its master is threatened. It will only take to the creature it has bonded to, though if that creature dies, it might consider another. Once a week, it is able to spit its foam with percision, causing temporary blindness of up to ten minutes. Bloblings are exceedingly rare, in fact, there are only 10 of them. They cannot breed, cannot be split into multiples, and will not ever be found again. They have a mildly frightening aura and will not be viewed as a normal pet or familiar, many will view them with disgust and trepidation or fear.
Ger's forceful tone seems to have cowed one of the Blobs into at least taking interest. While two flee, the other, scragglier, and more prone to moving in a thin line of sloppy mess, it stops, raises itself off the ground, and gives him a freakishly odd look, turning its "head" completely upside down and then continuing to rotate it as it eyeballed him. Gingerly, it approached...and then hissed again! Rearing itself up and flinging ink at the pair of them.))~Nathalia

[Nat, does the blob turn up in Victor’s radar, or it is now a different entity entirely from the ink monster that dissolved? And if it does turn up, does he get a slightly different reading than how you describe the creature in the note?]
Victor nodded when Simun spoke to the thing. Good boy. He caught on. Victor hung on every word the creature spoke. So... was the thing that was broken was it’s heart? Tamis... Suvius... All good information, but they needed more. Victor’s mouth dropped as the thing began to dissolve.
“No!” But it was too late. All that was left now was a thick blob of ink on the ground. That blinked at him.
Wait.
Victor stared back, remembering the mini-blob Jovan now had. The Cat tensed as it approached him. His fur was too thick with drying ink to stand on end. He was poked by the creature. It seemed to like him. Victor wasn’t sure he was quite fond of the idea. Well, at least he didn’t make another enemy today. He gave it a pat on the head then sighed and turned to Simun.
“Well, I was going to ask if you had any ability to calm it or if you could help get information out of it. So much for that, huh? Why don’t we look for your sister?” He turned his head to look back at Shoshanna and Geronimo, “And collect those two.”

Miah couldn't believe the maneuver had worked! But blast it all, the Ace had recovered more quickly than expected and had only fallen down a few steps. Part of the Mouse felt bad for hurting the creature, after all it was only doing its job of protecting its Master's house, but he couldn't just stand by and let the thing tear at him!
He had been contemplating on what to do next, because locking himself up in one of these rooms just wouldn't work since he'd still have to come out sometime, when the Ace charged at him again! Suits, but this thing was determined! Thinking quickly, he shove his hand into the satchel and came out with the length of rope he'd grabbed back in the basement of the Hat Shoppe.
Miah backpeddled as quickly as he could to gain a few more seconds, and held the rope in both hands. No more time; the thing was on him! Letting the Ace get close enough so he could tie the rope around it's neck seemed a good idea at the time, but when those horribly sharp claws pierced him in the chest the Mouse yelled. It took a few moments of wrestling with the bulky thing before he was able to recover enough to use his small paws and claws to loop the rope around its neck.
Using both paws he pulled the ends tight until the rope was straining against the Ace's throat, skin bulging all around it. Jeremiah pulled tighter and tighter and tighter, still utilizing his boost in strength to try and cut of the Ace's air supply. He wouldn't kill it, he couldn't, but hopefully this would be enough to make it pass out before it found a way of escaping his hold!
---------------------------------
Ger heard the different in Sho's voice. He wanted to turn and look at her, to tell her everything would be alright, but he noticed that although two of the three blobs had scampered off at his commands, one had stayed. He watched it look at him with something that he thought was curiosity.
The thing turned its head from side to side, then all the way upside down! Ger nearly smiled, but didn't want to let up his Adult Voice and Appearance. He did mimic the little blobby thing though, turning his head left, then right as far as his little kitten neck would let him.
Ger felt his hopes rise when it started to come closer, but then it hissed again! And just as quick it reared back, then forward effectively sloughing off some of itself onto he and his sister.
"Bad, blobby!" he shouted, frowning at the little thing. "You do not hiss and do not throw inky stuff at me or my sister. Now, COME HERE!" he said very loudly, pointing his paw at the ground at his feet. A bit of the blob's mess that had been flung at Ger dripped from his paw to the spot he was telling the little thing to go.

[The blob turns up (both) on Victor's radar as "good" if pissy things. Though his is a friendly soul overall.] (( The Blob at Ger's feet shuddered and spat foam...but not directly at him... It seemed almost...sulky? Purple eyes floated to the top of its...head, and it narrowed them, vibrating its body and slowly slinking over to him and touching his paw. After a few seconds, it curled next to him and almost seemed to purr, burbling happily...if resentfully.
ID: B06 out of 10 Species: Blobling Characteristic: Ink
Notes: This little Blobling is slippery and very watery, and unable to stick to things so much as slide along or through or under. It is able to secrete a thick, bubbling foam that smells overpoweringly like writing ink whenever it feels that itself or its master is threatened. It will only take to the creature it has bonded to, though if that creature dies, it might consider another. Once a week, it is able to cause a wave of ink to rise out of itself, up to 12 gallos worth, and shoot it out with a blast like extremely messy Spades water. Bloblings are exceedingly rare, in fact, there are only 10 of them. They cannot breed, cannot be split into multiples, and will not ever be found again. They have a mildly frightening aura and will not be viewed as a normal pet or familiar, many will view them with disgust and trepidation or fear.
The other blobs raced away over the hills to a carriage...the carriage seems a little dilapidated, but has one of the large Blobs pulling at the front. It stares at Victor balefully. "Sssssuuuvviuussssss..." It whines, arching against the tows meant for Aces and pulling it a little further.
Upstairs, Miah was actually quite successful. The beast writhed beneath him and tore out a mouthful of feathers, claws slashing abut and teeth biting uselessly, until it began to turn blue in the face. Its blunt claws were great for slashing and stabbing, but not for sawing. Gasping pathetically, it finally toppled over and slid down a few more steps, unconscious. He can hear yelling outside, and horrible screams from the hall where Ayden and the others disappeared! Oh, Lord! Time to make a decision, what if there are more Aces?))~Nathalia

What a strange little thing, Victor thought as he watched the blob flub along next to him. And it still showed up on his as the target of his ability. As he approached, the blobling that Ger was commanding also showed up, but with a different aura than his own and the monster it originated from. This was all too strange.
Watching the interaction between the young boy and the creature was both fascinated and threw up a red flag in his mind. As the creature sidled up to him and went through the same motion Victor's own blob made with him, he realized that perhaps he might have to be the one to teach the young children that there is more power in love than fear. Given the very telling signs they've been giving so far, it might be a hard one to teach.
"Are you two alright?" he asked when he approached. He was distracted by the running blobs in the distance. Where were they-- Oh... Oh Suits. He swallowed. He was torn. He knew he should be looking for the missing child in his party, but if this wasn't another clue slapping him in the face, he didn't know what was... then again, should he risk the lives of these kids for the sake of this knowledge? Dammit all.

Ger watched as the little creature finally started to approach him. He felt an odd sort of happiness when it touched his paw and wiggled contentedly. The boy ran his paw over the thing's head, patting it.
"Good blobby!" Ger said happily to it, while frowning a bit at the inky residue petting it had left on his paw. He wiped it on the grass and turned to Sho. "Look, Shoshanna! This little Blobby likes me! I want him to do a little dance for you. Make you smile," he said hopefully, pushing the blob creature in front of his half sister. "Go ahead, blobby, dance for Sho!"
The creature rotated his head back to him, rest of its body unmoving, and looked at him in what seemed to be confusion. Ger sighed, rolling his eyes, and started moving his body around to the sound of a nonexistent beat. "You know, dance! Wiggle around."
The blob started to bob up and down, it's watery form wiggling like jello as it mimicked Geronimo. It warbled at Ger, and the Mix smiled at him. "That's great, blobby!" The boy stopped dancing and had a thoughtful look on his face. "We're going to have to come up with something other than blobby to call you." He turned his head to Shoshanna, hoping she was feeling a little bit better after watching her brother and his little pet dance for her. "What do you think it should be called?"
The small creature bounced up and down in place, looking to Geronimo, Shoshanna, and back to Geronimo but then quickly rolled behind Ger's hind legs when Victor came towards them. Peaking its purple eyes out from behind the boy, the blobby burbled at it's brother blob.
"Look!" Ger yelled, pointing at his new friend. "You've got one too!" he shouted excitedly, seeing Victor's own blob now for the first time.
--------------------------
It had taken longer than the Mouse thought it would and had been tiring out at an alarming rate when finally the Ace started to struggle less and less, and finally passed out. Suits, but the beast had been heavy! Miah took a few moments to inspect his wounds. They hurt like a bitch, but none of them seemed to be bleeding at an alarming rate so they could wait awhile for first aid.
It was when he was inspecting the rest of himself that he cried out softly in horror upon realizing some of the feathers off his back were missing; torn out by the angry Ace.
Hearing loud, yelling voices coming outside from a nearby window he peaked his head out and saw Victor and two of the kids off of the porch. They seemed alright, he thought, then swiveled around when he heard not yelling but screaming coming from the floors below him.
Rushing down the stairs and jumping over the unconscious Ace, Miah took the steps two and three at a time, nearly tripping at each landing until he'd made it to the ground level where they'd all started out. He made his way slowly down the hall his group had begun going down when they kicked him out, ordering him outside with the children and Victor.
Miah couldn't see them now. Where had they gone? "Ayden? Eurwen?" Miah called out, his tail swishing nervously behind him. Where had they gone? Was it them who was screaming? Should he go help them? Looking down into his satchel Jeremiah cursed. He'd left the damn rope upstairs around the throat of the Ace! If something attacked him now, he'd have no means of defending himself again.
Hearing no reply from either Ayden or Eurwen, Miah backed up slowly until his rear bumped into the front door. Turning around quickly he flung them open and ran out onto the porch, nearly knocking into Simun.
"Oiy!" he cried out, alarmed. Realizing it was one of the kids, Miah laughed. "You just about scared my bladder out of my body!" He slapped the young man on the shoulder with his paw. Seeing Victor, Geronimo and Shoshanna just near the bottom of the porch steps the Mouse makes his way down and over to them.
He stops short of the group though, spying what looks like two blobs of....well, blobbyness. What the hell were those things? Confused, he walked the rest of the way up to them.
"Being inside is overrated. How's it been out here? And um, what are those little things?" he asked, turning his head as he spied a few more of the little blobs bouncing around in the near distance. "Jeez, there's more of them?"

((The large Blob, like the one that swallowed him, tugs again at the holsters, pulling the carriage a little further and then looking back at the group hopefully. "Going to fiiiiind...Suuuuviusssssss..." It groaned, frothing a bit and twisting what might have been its head completely upside down. Watching.))

Upon approaching the kids, he noticed their blob was... dancing? Inspired, Victor own blob looked at the other and imitated the movements. The viscous body of the crude oil blob did not jiggle as quickly or freely as the one made of ink. It wiggled thickly, it's body jiggling in waves. Victor would have been far more amused by this had the day not been so horrifying. Still, it got a smile. Half-hearted, but a smile no less.
"Yeah, I did..." he seemed a little distant when he said it. He was jolted out of his almost-trance when Miah appeared. The hell?
"Miah?! What the hell are you going here? Did something happen to the others? ...are you okay?" Goodness, he looked a little roughed up, but he seemed it a relatively good mood, so perhaps not too much doom had befallen their comrades? His blob turned to Miah and looked at him while 'dancing', but did not approach him. Victor snapped his head around when the large ink monster spoke again. Monster? No. Creature... no.
This one showed up on his radar as well. He knew its alignment. He also knew his ability hadn't grown. They had to be the same. On top of the same words being spoken by all three of the Creatures they'd met here AND this one seeming to continue their conversation in a logical progression (not to mention Victor's mind being quite open to the insane and seemingly illogical options at the moment), he concluded this creature had to be...
He took a deep breath, answering Miah. "It's been interesting, to say the least," he paused, silent for a moment, "Miah, you wouldn't have happened to have seen where Kamina went, did you?" Victor was obsessing and he knew it. He was going to find Suvius, children or no. He felt guilt in his resolve to slough them off on Miah if he had to, but damn it all he would get to the bottom of this. He approached the carriage.
"Hello, Tamis."

Jeremiah had just been squinting his eyes at the slow moving carriage out over the hill when Victor came up to him. He gave the Lowlander a smile, until he asked about the others.
"Oh, I'm sure they're fine. We, uh, got seperated. I went upstairs to look around and managed to get in a fight with a very angry Ace," he explained, twisting to show his back and the missing feathers as well as the bloody scratches on his chest. "Mean little buggar! I called out for the others when I came back downstairs, but didn't hear anything back. They were all wanting to be quiet last I saw them so maybe they just didn't want to answer," he finished with a shrug.
"And the little girl's with them. She snuck in before the door shut. I'm sure Ayden, Eurwen and Jovan are taking good care of her," he said, unable to keep all the bitterness from his voice at being kicked out of the group.
Miah looked down at the dancing blobs and chuckled. He moved his forward as if to pet the grayish one, but the Feline boy started lightly growling at him. Smiling and shrugging again, he backed up. That's when he saw the carriage again. And it was being pulled by... wait, it couldn't be!
"Ain't that the same thing we decapitated in the Hat Shoppe?" he asked incredulously. He watched the Lowlander walk slowly up to the monster. "Victor, are you sure about this?"
Miah looked from the carriage back to Geronimo, Shoshanna and Simun. He liked kids, but he just wasn't good with them. He hoped Victor wasn't intending on getting in that carriage without them! Geronimo scooped his blobby closer to him when the Mouse looked his way and inched closer to Sho.
"Ask it where it's going, and well seeing as how it doesn't seem very hostile right now, if maybe we can get a ride back to the Capitol, or at least the Rising Wing so we can get to the portal there?" Miah asked hopefully.
