Eurwen nodded. Dealing with her brother's wings she knew how difficult they could be. Especially in this case, but she wasn't particularly fond of the idea of fixing up a bander's leg. Oh well. He had come to her aide, so this was the least she could do for Kaden.
"Just make sure he doesn't go for my face or anything," She said before she reached out to set the leg in a better position. It was a good thing her mother was a doctor, and she had actually paid attention during most of her lectures about first aide.
With skilled paws the mouse carefully set the leg. The piece of silver was long enough that it was a simple task, and the towel actually did a good job of holding everything together. All in all the make shift splint would be enough for the time being. Hopefully there would be a vet out there who was willing to set the poor bander's leg.
"There we go."

Though Quicksand grumbled and gnashed his teeth in frustration, Kaden kept the little bander's attention off of Ivy while she worked. His wingtip got a little slobbery but there was no real harm done and, wow, Ivy was really good with bandages.
"Thanks a lot, Ivy. You're really good at that." He smiled at his friend, giving him a little pat on the head as the bander sat grumpily in the middle of the table and sneezed his protest to everything. Kaden silenced him with another treat from his bag. "Quicksand says Thank you as well, in his way."
Now, with that out of the way. "Would you like a drink? I've got something to get for my Dad as it is and I figure we deserve a bit of a break after all that." And the fact that they would then be paying customers would most likely erase any suspicions that the Bartender could possibly have toward them. Murderers don't usually hang around for a celebratory drink, after all.

"Thanks. My mom is a Doctor, and I actually paid attention to all her lectures. And with all the crap my brother gets into I have to keep on my toes," The mouse said with a smile. The bander was surprisingly well behaved. Her father's Fern was a little monster that tried to eat her on a regular basis. It was nice to meet a bander that was simply disgruntled and not filled with an unspeakable rage.
"Awww, that's sweet, even if it involves snot." And this little bander was kind of cute unlike the neon green Fern.
At the prospect of a drink the mouse's ears perked. She wasn't one for alcohol, but the fact that blending in was their major priority, it would be a good idea. "Oh yeah, a drink would be fantastic. You don't mind ordering for me, do you? I'm not one for drinks and I don't want the bartender to smack me with a towel again."

A doctor, hm? Kaden couldn't say he'd picked up any of his parent's skills - he was a disaster in the kitchen and he didn't have the patience for mechanics. ...Apparently he had his mom's taste for getting into trouble but he wouldn't consider that a skill, per se.
"That's an awesome skill to have. Most of my skills are the sort that you avoid bragging about in public." He winked cheerfully and hopped down from his seat, stretching his wings a bit. Things were going fairly well now, considering all the insanity they'd just been through.
"No problem, I can order for the both of us. Gotta pick up something special for my dad as it is. Keep an eye on Quicksand will ya?" He reached into his bag and pulled out a small sack of treats, offering them to Eurwen. "He makes a fuss, just give 'im a treat and he'll shut right up, promise." Once she agreed, he gave the bander his command to stay and made his way up to the bar.
The bartender still seemed a little uncomfortable, but Kaden blissfully ignored it as he went about placing his orders. A large flask of father's special liquor, and something light for himself and Ivy. Kaden had a decent tolerance for alcohol (thank you, mother) but he'd prefer to stay as sober as possible until he was sure that everything had blown over properly. At least the bartender seemed fairly cheerful once Kaden had handed over his money.
Returning to the table with their drinks, Kaden grinned at Ivy. "Hope this suits ya. It's not too heavy and the taste is almost enjoyable."

Eurwen snorted in a rather unlady like fashion at Kaden's comment about his skills. She didn't apologize for making the sound, considering it was clear she found his comment amusing. "Well we are in a bar on the shady side of town, there's plenty of bragging you could do here and I'm sure people wouldn't bat an eyelash."
She blinked for a moment when she was handed the treats. Right, the bander on the table probably wasn't going to be thrilled about the departure of its master. When the little creature made a whining sound at his departure she offered him a treat. Which he snapped right up without much complaint. "You're a lot cuter than Fern," she said cheerfully as she offered it another biscuit. Maybe she would get a bander of her own once Fern kicked the bucket, which she hoped was soon.
Upon the return of the bird she set down the little bag of treats and scooped up her drink. She gave it a light sniff while Kaden spoke. Beer wasn't something she really enjoyed, but it smelled spicy enough to taste like something other than piss. "Thanks," she took a sip of the liquid. Her nose wrinkled slightly. Why did people drink this shit? "So, besides getting liquor for your old man, do you have any plans?"
She involuntarily fingered the bag that was hanging around her neck for safe keeping. She figured it still wasn't safe to even attempt to open the letter until the bartender didn't look like he was going to jump out of his skin. Suits only knew if he was involved in whatever the hell was going on.

The bander stared gruffly at Eurwen at first, as if frustrated by being commanded to stay with a strange person, but accepted the biscuits and dissolved into contented munching. He wouldn't put up a fuss or further complaints in Kaden's absence. Upon Kaden's return, however, he perked up notably and his little tail wagged as he whuffled his approval.
"No problem. Thanks for watching Quicksand." Kaden flopped down in his seat and took a hearty sip of his drink. It was a nice spiced ale, more like really potent juice than piss beer. It wouldn't get 'em too drunk, or even intensely buzzed, but it would do to drink while they passed the time. His mother would've scoffed at the idea of drinking just for the pleasure or taste. Once, a long time ago and in a very drunken rant, Loreta had told him that no one drank for taste. That they drank because life was shit and they had to drink to get through the day. Thankfully, Kaden had never found that too be true but he wasn't about to start questioning his Mum on such matters.
But ah, plans?
"Nope, nothing at all. Well," he grinned cheerfully, "aside from being your temporary partner for the evening. That has been a whole lot more fun than running errands for Dad, that's for sure." He took a sip of his drink, clicking his tongue at the light burn. "What about you? You never did share with me your reason for being out here. I doubt it was just to steal plushies of dead Queens?"

Eurwen's eyes periodically wandered around the room to inspect who was doing what. She honestly didn't want to get jumped by someone or something while not paying attention. And she wanted to keep an eye on the bartender, who still looked shaky but seemed to be getting better. She was surprised by the fact that he wasn't making too much of a commotion, though he seemed to be back to chatting with his potential friends. She didn't linger too long on the scene.
"Ah...hahaha," she said after a moment, dipping her finger into the beer idly. That probably wasn't the most sanitary thing to do but, eh, these glasses didn't look one hundred percent clean either. "I'm meeting a secret admirer, a date of sorts, I suppose. He said I should meet him here but..." she lowered her voice a bit, just so people who could potentially listen to her wouldn't hear things out right. "I'm not sure if he's going to make it. The letter I grabbed might having something in it about why he isn't here right now, but I don't want to risk reading it at this very moment. The other one was pretty showy."
A flair for the dramatic. She truly hoped he was that amazing in person.
She changed her voice to her regular volume, "And you know it's nice to have someone with me, just in case things don't go as smoothly as I hoped."

((As soon as they actually leave the bar and the two find themselves alone, the letter will flutter its way out of Eurwen's hiding place for it and open, glowing lightly. The image of a young-looking Selkie Mouse Biped in a leather jerkin and bone cuffs rises in miniature from the parchment once again. He smiles lightly, offers his hand and vanishes, his wisp of blue mane and goatee fading out last because of the bright flare of blue light.
The letter reads:
Dearest one,
My sincerest apologies that I had to move on. I am following a blaggard and unfortunately they left the area before I could find you and headed away. It is my duty to capture and silence them before they destroy something of the utmost value to so many in this world. Please accept my apologies and a small gift, I wish only that I had been able to see you...you are so different from the others in this world, so much more vibrant and I want nothing more than to see you. I will wait for you in the Capital square, by the fountain. You know what I look like, I will be there, come hell or high water. Lovely...I miss you without knowing you. I apologize for my deluge of eloquence.
Yours, Ayden
Your goal is to get to the Capital square fountain...which should only take about three hours, be careful though...the Capital is full of dangers, however silent and empty it may seem....)))

A date, huh? Here? Kaden glanced around the bar and shrugged. Not like he was one to judge. He'd never even been on a date, let alone a showy mystery date, and it seemed Ivy had a taste for trouble so this probably wasn't all that bad of an idea. Still, he definitely agreed with Ivy: it was good he was there, just in case he wasn't who he made himself out to be.
They'd been sitting there for nearly half an hour, just chatting and getting to know one another over their drinks, but as the time and alcohol ticked away it would begin to appear that Ivy's date wasn't going to show up after all. Maybe that wasn't such a bad thing, Kaden wondered, considering the unusual place he'd invited her to meet him at.
Following Ivy out of the bar, Kaden couldn't help but feel a little bad for his friend. Hopefully she wouldn't feel too bad about possibly being stood up, but at least they didn't get caught for all that crap earlier. And they'd gotten some loot out of the ordeal... Speaking of which. "Oh hey, we should try and get into that box now that we've got some privacy." He grinned mischievously.

Eurwen enjoyed the the chat she was having with Kaden. But eventually the horrible alcohol was gone, and her secret admirer had yet to show up. Silently cursing to herself she hurried out of the bar, box and adorable stuffed animal in hand.
She wanted to kick something. She set the box down when Kaden spoke to her. Oh yeah, they should do that. Of course as she went to open her mouth the letter fluttered out of its hiding place and opened for her.
A frown was on her face the entire time. Of course this would happen. Of course he was now in a completely different place. Three hours away. Oh he better be worth all this trouble. She slipped the letter back in her money pouch and looked to Kaden.
"Want to go for a long walk?" she asked cheerfully. Might as well put a positive spin on things. "It's like some sort of zombie apocalypse out here, and I don't want to run around alone... and I imagine we can find some way to open this damn thing."
