Eurwen thanked the Jossigy's profusely as they were willing to help. Though the looks that were on their faces were less than encouraging. Kaden's lightly touch didn't really help her that much either. She could still smell rotting flesh and a cesspool of filth, and she wanted it to go away.
It was a shame her brother wasn't here. He would have been enjoying himself in a horrifying morbid sort of way. And he probably could have used one of his solutions to absolutely make sure Kaden's foot wouldn't get infected. That disgusting monster's mouth had been filled with mucus and suits knows what else.
She asked the three for a bit of water to was her paws, which they thankfully had on hand.
When everything was finish the mouse gave the three a deep bow. She kept a close eye on them just in case they got any funny ideas. There were plenty of legends about Lowlanders and what happened if you touched them. She didn't know the extent of what some people believed.
"Let's hurry," she said to Kaden, picking up her pace a bit. They were almost to the fountain, and she was so close to meeting her admirer she could have a kitten. As it was she just tried to remain composed for the sake of her friend's foot. "And maybe we can take a little bath in the fountain. This smell is... awful." She sniffed herself. Actually... it wasn't that bad. It must have been Kaden that was smelling so strongly?

Kaden couldn't begin to express the extent of his thanks to the Josiggies but it was great indeed. He bobbed his head, testing the weight on his foot. Much better. Still painful, so fricken painful, but better.
Thanking the group once more, Kaden followed after Ivy. "Don't have to tell me twice." Walking was harder than Kaden expected, and his steps settled into a gimping step-hop to avoid putting pressure on or around his toes on the wounded foot. Suits. "Awful doesn't even begin to describe it." He chuckled softly and winced. "I have never wanted a bath so much in my life." By now he was fairly sure it was him, which was terrible to consider. Hopefully, it was just in his imagination and the force of the stench would be a product of their combined smelliness.
Finally the Fountain rose into view and Kaden let out a happy chirp-squawk. "I think we finally made it." He grinned down at his friend before a little shudder rushed up his spine. "I hope your admirer is worth all of this zombie madness."
Kaden would find himself scanning the streets and nearby shadows as they drew closer to the fountain. Despite his desperate want to believe that reaching the fountain would mean sanctity and a shallow bath, a little voice in the back of his head was whispering warnings. After an encounter like that, everything felt like a trap.

She felt a little bad as she watched her companion limp. A small part of her wished he would have accepted the invitation to carry him, but she wouldn't push it though. He was a guy, and she was sure it would look a little odd if she was carrying a bird around. Not to mention of they got attacked again it would be messy....
She found her stomach as knotting itself as they got closer and closer. It seemed like an eternity for the fountain to come in sight. The mouse almost lit up when she saw it. Water. And she was going to see her secret admirer in person! Finally!
And if he wasn't here she was going to scream.
The moused stayed close to the bird. "Are you doing okay?" she asked quietly. There was still a chance they could be in danger. She didn't trust the fact that the monster had disappeared so quickly.

Kaden was thankful for Ivy's closeness. He didn't trust... anything right now, to be honest, and all the self-assurance in the world couldn't ease the paranoia that had built up in his gut. Thankfully, however, he had slowly adjusted to the horrible pain of losing his toe and now it had faded to a constant, but bearable throbbing. It still hurt to put full pressure on it, but that was okay. Kaden would manage.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little shaken, to be honest. I imagine it could 've been a lot worse. Thankful we're both generally intact." Something told him Mum would've been pissed if he came home missing too much.
Now, however, they had reached the fountain proper and Kaden hurried over to the water's edge. Still flowing, basically clean-smelling, and not harboring any magical demon piranha. Thank the suits. "Excuse me just a minute, I am going to try and wash this... unholy stench off." Casting one last uncertain glance around, wary to potentially leave Ivy vulnerable while he was rolling in the water, Kaden hopped into the fountain on his one good foot and did a careful one-legged rendition of a bird bath. When he was done he felt a lot better but when he brought his wing up to sniff it he let out a disgusted squawk.
"Urgg, Suits! I still stink! What the hell!?! Why won't it come off!!!"

It was good to hear. Though she felt a little bad that he was the one to lose a toe when he was just tagging along out of the goodness of his heart. She would have to make it up to him somehow. Maybe her brother could help him regrow his toe or something? He had managed to screw himself up and grow... longer. A toe didn't seem out of the scope.
She watched as Kaden practically ran over to the fountain. She still felt a bit off about this entire ordeal. The city was still so quiet, and the few people they ran into just seemed... off as well. This was too much like a horror novel. "Oh Ayden, please be here," she said as she trotted towards the fountain.
Her nose wrinkled at the bird's statement. Oh he had to be kidding. How could he still smell like that awful... thing when she was capable of getting it off using a bit of water? "Suits, you've got to be kidding," she frowned as she peered around. "Maybe you just need some soap or something?"
Not like any would be around. Maybe they could just loot someone's house?

((Pause on this thread until tomorrow when I can sketch up Ayden and get him scanned in. Sorry, you guys are blazing, and this thread will eventually come to a point where it needs to sit for a bit until one or two others catch up. But, no worries...I'm starting others soon...heheheheee....))

A figure slipped out of the shadows, feet skipping silently over the cobblestones until he was two buildings away and staring out at the pair washing by the fountain. Ayden's heart leaped. There she was! He watched her face as she expressed concern for the Bird she was traveling with and an odd, vague jealousy rose and fell in him. Well, if she was taken, then she was taken, he was better than to fight over a girl already lost. That would accomplish only further heartbreak. "Might this at last be the wondrous Eurwen?" The voice was lighter than most males, though it had an edge to it that a rough life made certain couldn't be erased. "I must admit to dearly hoping so, lest I have found another so beautiful in so short a span of time."He paused about ten feet from them. "I must admit that I find that idea unlikely."He smiled apologetically, and gave the pair a half bow that extended a leg before him. "Please, I ask your pardon for running you across the city; the pair of you, I hadn't realized I was inconveniencing so many. I am Ayden, and I'm delighted that you've come."He straightened and approached the Corvie mixed Mouse, kneeling down and bowing his head. "Really, I am sorry. The man I am chasing is deadly in earnest and stopping his run is worth more than my loss of an evening of fun and engagement. I am truly sorry." He reached into his pocket. "However, I did promise you a gift." He flicked a small, blue glass orb out of his jacket pocket and handed it lightly to her. "To make up for my unseemly timing and lack of appearance."He gave the Bird a nod. "And you sir. Many apologies...I didn't mean to have anyone else dragged after my sorry carcass, I'm hoping that you were at least another such as the lady here who enjoys such ventures?"Really, he'd feel awful if a normal civilian had been dragged after him just because he'd had to take off after his quarry. Light on the water spell: This SD can now cause any solid surface for up to 50 feet all around them appear to be water instead. The water looks to be leagues deep and light plays off the top of it in a way that will hypnotize cards ranked 7 and under into walking out on it...and believing they're drowning. The spell lasts for a full 10 minutes and deflects all spells ranked 10 and below (and most 50p abilities) back at their casters.~Nathalia

Suits! Was this really happening? Kaden sniffed himself once more in disgust before shaking out his feathers and spreading both sets of wings to better dry. He still perched on one foot, allowing the injured toe a break while they waited. Thankfully, they didn't have to wait long. Just as Kaden was about to question the possibility that showy mouseboy was a no show, a light voice skipped over the cobblestones to them. The muttbird arched a brow curiously and tucked his wings close to himself as he watched the new figure approach.
He was lean and petite, with a light high voice for a male and he looked as if he'd obviously seen the rigors of a hard life but in that roguishly charming way. Kaden scoffed mentally. To top it off he was probably some gentleman thief Diamond, his flowery speech seemed to say so. When he tossed her a gift, Kaden grinned and glanced sidelong to Ivy. She really had hit the jackpot of secret admirers, hadn't she?
When the attention was turned to him, Kaden felt suddenly a tad awkward and out of place like a third wheel at a party. He grinned and shrugged his wings casually. "It's not what I'd consider my usual brand of excitement... but, for what it's worth, it's been an interesting night." Definitely kept him busy, that was sure, and he'd met the wonderfully interesting Ivy along the way.

Eurwen felt terribly depressed as she looked at her bird companion. He had managed to lose his toe, and there was a chance that Ayden wasn't going to show. Just when she was about to give up hope, however, she heard the question. Her ears perked as she peered over her shoulder.
Her eyes widened briefly. Suits. He was a lot more handsome in person. She hadn't been expecting his voice to sound the way it did, for for him to carry himself with such grace. The girl was starting the blush as she turned around completely.
Oh Holy Mother he was real. This wasn't a dream.
"Ahhh...I'm Eurwen, yes," were the only worlds that she was able to get out of her mouth at first, her blush showing through her fur. Composure. She was normally good at handling herself but tonight had been a mess and... this was almost too much to deal with. She cleared her throat and accepted the gift with a grateful and enthusiastic smile.
Wow she felt like an idiot.
"It's... so nice to meet you Ayden, and thank you," she finally managed after Kaden had spoke. She took a deep breath to try and gather herself. Okay, focus. "Tonight has been a bit of a mess. And Kaden," she motioned to the bird, "and I met earlier when I was waiting for you in the bar. Without him I probably would have kicked the bucket this evening. I ran into quite a bit of trouble. A Jossigy woman who stabbed two people in the head after they all attacked me and Kaden, potentially running into legendary creatures, and we ran into something that I'm throughly convinced was a Lowlander zombie."
She was rolling around the blue orb in her paws as she spoke. At least it was helping with her concentration. "And I would like bluntly say that you're totally worth all the trouble."

Ayden nodded sympathetically to the Bird, reaching into his coat pocket and producing an orb similar to that of Eurwen's, only a greenish color. "Again, my apologies sir. If I'd known I was dragging another out here, I would have specified another day or time perhaps. Please, accept my apology for your troubles." He handed it lightly t the Bird, brows creased in worry as a clock chimes somewhere in the distance. "It's a useful little spell, hopefully it will do you some good."Hovering Green Orb: This small green orb slips up out of the rubbish and stops directly before the SD who uncovered it, making a tiny humming noise. It can either be pocketed for a later time, or the SD in question can accept its magical influence. Should they accept it, their eyes will become a brilliant, vibrant green and the orb itself will dim a bit, hovering around their heads for all time; though they can make it go out with a thought should they like, and come back on at a later time. Once a week, they will find themselves able to cause another SD or Rabbit near them to light up as glowingly green as the orb. They will shine like a beacon and make for an excellent distraction away from yourself. If that weren't enough, once lit, the poor creature will remain so for a full hour and their footsteps and voices will be doubly magnified and echo long after they've finished speaking. His attention focused back on the Mouse before him, he was surprised and quietly pleased to see the slight blush through her fur. She really was quite a charming little thing. "It's a pleasure to meet you at last, Eurwen." He kissed her paw, and remained in a kneeling position to her. "Your evening sounds...if at all possible, worse than my own."Her news did seem to take him by surprise. "I knew there was something wrong with the Capital this evening, but I can't figure out what it is, and I'm not too sure I want to, after what you've described. Sir?" He gave Kaden a cautions look. "A moment, if you will."A small, transparent bubble seemed to appear over both Mice, keeping any sounds they made purely to themselves. "My apologies, Eurwen. As it is, I was wondering if you were still interested in helping me? I would love your assistance, but I'm not sure if your friend there is quite up t the task, regardless of bravery."He glanced up at the sky and then back to her face. "The Josiggy woman you're referring to? I believe it is she and her brother I'm looking for, did you happen to see her in her Human form? I'm told it's an odd sight."He looked mildly taken aback when she stated him to be worth the trouble, his own small flush evident through the white fur on his face. "I... Thank you...it's good to hear." He kissed her paw again. "Come with me?"(( Will Kaden be continuing his travels with Ivy and Ayden or will he be heading out on his own? He can either; 1. Continue with the pair of them. 2. Continue to snoop around the Capital. 3. Attempt to get back home or get help (for them or his poor foot). All are viable options and will keep him in the contest, though they may take him to different threads. Jovan and the other will be entering this thread shortly, be ready.))~Nathalia
