It shouldn't talk. It shouldn't talk. It shouldn't talk. Oh hell, it shouldn't talk. Morgan's mouth went absolutely dry when Ez finally snapped, rounding on it in a fit of shrieking rage. Then Mirriam looked at it as though it had just said that she should die, and it didn't know what 'that' she was referring to. It really didn't. It had said a few things.
Zacharias asked it a question. It looked at the man as though he were mad. This, directly after a threat for silence? Its brain just hurt with tired and with confusion and with a million other things. Its mouth remained pressed into a thin, scared line, not a sound leaving it.
Nobles were attacking other nobles. There were screams, various screams, horrible noises, and all it really - truly! - wanted was for Argo to not come back. The snake's words and threats and insinuations disturbed it greatly, as did Zacharias's rebuttals, but the grand scheme of whatever they were talking about just went right over its head.
And then the world seemed to go mad. As though it hadn't already. And Mirriam became terribly, terribly cross with it, where she had almost seemed to forget and forgive its words before. Immune to the power affecting everyone, it shrank until its entire side was pressed against the wall, peripheral vision all that was left to it. The weights on its legs felt like they were sinking it into the floor.
"I... I'm... Mirriam, I..." it whimpered, beyond the point of caring what it looked like to anyone else, beyond sense and reason and tolerance and so far into a realm of exhaustion and discomfort and general pain that it just...
No.
It stared at Mirriam and cast a spell. It couldn't have her angry at it over this. It couldn't. She was all it had, apparently. And maybe it could rectify the situation. It didn't realize that its magic wouldn't negate the spell-induced rage, or that she would find something else to be angry about.
Frame of Mind: Once a week, it can cause anyone ranked 8 and under to forget something they've seen in the past 5 minutes. They will forget it completely and not get that tiny memory back, ever.

(Yes, Naf. He's very upside down and your last swing clipped him, he's just really pissed. Kari, Gigi's affected, but it doesn't matter as that spell's dropping this post anyway.) (( Zacharias gave a long, Wolf's howl of complete fury as a small whirlwind came to light from the floor right beneath his head, sucking at his face and forcing his eyes closed as he dangled upside down and slashed about viciously n order to fend off any attacks. He hoped beyond hope that the fools were too busy fighting with themselves to cause him anything more grievous. The whirlwind pulled at him and he screamed his rage...when it pulled a hat stand into it. The thing clocked him in the face (2), and he tore at it as his nose fountained blood and his blackened eye sealed shut. "Idiots! Morons and death-bridled fools! You've brought this on yourselves!" Beyond being able to concentrate fully anymore, he felt his hold on the anger spell slipping...before it faded out completely.
The shadowy demons attacking Sabe got in a few good slashes, one down over his right eye, and another few across the stomach and back, but they were held mostly at bay by the swirling shirts. Confused and some of them destroyed by them, they screamed and hissed, fighting to get at him. Zacharias writhed insanely, snapping the hat rack int two and managing to fling it out of the whirlwind just as the spell holding him up dropped him sharply n his head. (6...dice...damn it) He lay in a heap for a moment, too dazed to move.
Under the bed, the insane-looking monster giggled at Gigi, gently letting go of her muzzle and holding up a finger to its lips in the "shhh" gesture, before reaching out next to her and clawing to get out from under the bed. "Gigi! You had the nice naaame. I brought some friends, but be careful...they're smart! I-" The Wolf's loud howl and the subsequent thud seemed to bring the thing up short. Its mouth fell open and it gave a horrified cry. "Zach! Zach, wait, wait!" He turned down to the pair below him; Shelby and Maeve. "I have to go, they're hurting him! I have to go!" Heaving the bed over, the creature clawed its way out from under it, and changed. Not caring who saw him, the creature shifted until it rose upwards out of the floor, the very definition of wrong. Overlong limbs scraped the floor as it reached for the Snake nearest his brother, to pick him up and throw him. (13)
No sound came from this monstrosity, its fine clothing all seeming to be in perfect order as it stalked about, hunched dreadfully to fit in the attics low ceiling enclosure, only ten feet to hold its twelve foot frame. Zacharias, forced himself upright, the whirlwind still trying got trip him as he shoved at anything in his way. "Argo! Hold them back! Now!" He yelled, racing past the Bat and shoving her hard! (17) heaving the dresser everyone had come through aside, muscled standing out on his back, he forced it sideways, revealing another small black door. Kneeling down, he grabs the handle and shakes it, grabbing for his cloak, seeming to be searching for a pocket and then giving up, yanking hard, with every intent to break it.
The monster, Argo it seems to be called, takes a menacing pose, trying to keep people away from the door, it makes no move to harm Miriam and almost seems to dip its head at her. Down below, the door under the bed...the one leading to the Warren...vanishes. Leaving the two Rabbits at the bottom trapped down the stairs in the Palace of Hearts.))~Nathalia

Ez let out a chirp when the crow pinned him to the wall. His eyes narrowed as the man whispered. He had half a mind to bitch slap him, really. "How dare you you bas--" he began to hiss.
The wolf howled, cutting his words short. The sparrow's feathers were already ruffled, and he shot another dirty look at Wulfram, trying to wriggle out of his grasp.
His anger suddenly fizzled, replaced by confusion as he gave Wulfram a wide eyed stare. "I need to get to Gigi--my niece under the bed--I didn't mean to do that," He said in a whisper. The Wolf had been screaming about something being brought on them. Honestly he had had things under control somewhat before everyone had come barging into the bloody room. Damnit.
And then Argo came into the room. Great. Just great.
"Don't attack him. There's a chance we can talk our way out of this if your idiot associates don't fuck things up further," the sparrow hissed at the Queen of Spades.
He had to gain his composure. There was a little spell he could use for damage control but... suits would he be capable of concentrating in this mess?
---
Conall continued to watch for outside of the room as things got progressively worse. The Spade Corvie was still safe, but things were starting to get out of hand. Parts of his tail puffed out as he debated on trying to do something.
He swallowed a bit as he shuffled around the frightened Torquehelm woman and went to get closer to the room. The screaming of the wolf was far from encouraging and then things got rather terrifying quickly.
There was a monster in the room.
His mouth snapped shut and he froze completely.
What was that?
---
Devika was cowering the howling made her eyes snap open as she cowered on the floor. Shaking and now crying she watched events unfold through the doorway. Everyone was fighting and the Wolf seemed to be losing rather badly. There was just so much blood and chaos she felt ill.
Her ears pressed against her skull as she continued to watch evens through her blurred tear filled visions.
Something very large was suddenly in the room with everyone. She let out a terrified squawk and hid under her wings. Oh suits, they were all going to die, and she hadn't even lived for that very long.
---
Gigi's brow furrowed as monster-Argo giggled at her. Was this normal? This was frustrating. Could he let go of her mouth? She tried her best to continue to look cute, and he finally let go of her muzzle.
She went to say something but was shushed. The giraffe stuck her tongue out a bit, completely and utterly flustered. Friends. Okay he had brought friends and--
Right bad things were happening! That's why she needed to say something.
Gigi opened her mouth to say something but was promptly interrupted by Argo's actions. She let out a small snort of surprise as Argo wriggled past her before she could actually move out of the way for him.
She whimpered a bit as she listened to what was going on behind her. "Sorry Argo's Friends I need to help Ez and Mirriam and stuff!" she said to Argo's friends, whatever they were, as she pulled herself out of the door.
And very bad things were happening.
And there was a lot of blood, and the people were everywhere, and Argo was trying to be scary. There was definitely screaming. The bed was flipped over. The Big Scary Wolf Pushed Mirriam.
Um. What should she do? How was she supposed to help?
Slowly she edged towards Mirriam, getting ready to bolt if she had to (17).

"You WHAT?" Mirriam squeaked, beyond angry at the Canine as the spell still gripped her. "What do you have to say for yourself?" She didn't even notice the spell Morgan tried to throw at her, as she was Ranked too high to be affected. "What are you doing?" she hissed, and tensed, as if preparing to actually swipe out at him...and then, there was a loud howl, a rush of noise, and...the anger vanished as abruptly as it had come. Mirriam's brown eyes widened and she stumbled back a bit, away from her sibling. "Morgan I...I'm sorry. I dunno what came over me! Stay safe. Things are getting dangerous in here."
No sooner had she said it than Argo burst back out from under the bed, all gangly limbs and tallness. And then...the horrible Wolf shoved her! She was taken totally off balance and flailed helplessly for a moment before hitting the wall hard (8), letting out a high pitched squeak of surprise and pain as she landed on her already hurt wing. Blearily, she was aware of the Wolf forcing his way to a new door, and Argo nodded to her. At least she'd been right about him...she wanted to warn him that his brother was Mean and had been saying Bad Things about him while he was gone, but it was hard to get the breath.
Gigi was suddenly beside her, and Mirriam grunted and forced herself up, wings scrabbling for purchase. "Gigi, are you okay? We need to...we need to do something...I think that Wolf made Zane and Khushrenada explode."
----
Shelby tensed as, now in the tunnel, he could hear the chaos in the room above. What exactly were the walking into? He drew his letter opener, which seemed a little small as a weapon now that he was bigger, but at least he could hold it correctly now in his claws. He shook, and forced himself to be calm and take measured steps. But when there was an actual Card ahead of them...a really strange one with a long neck, he faltered and froze.
But...this Card didn't seem afraid of them, like everyone else was. Not even of him. He tried to smile and wanted to say something, but the words stuck in his throat. And then, of course, things took a turn for the weirder when the Jack -changed- into something tall and not Rabbit-like. He wasn't like any Card that Shelby had ever seen, either. The Leveret boggled.
And then both of them left and...they were standing in the stairwell. He gave a slightly helpless look to Maeve. "What...what now?" Of course, he noticed while looking back that the door they'd come from had vanished. That was...wonderful. They really couldn't go back.

Sabe was in a torrent of pain as their clawed hands reached out for him dodging the shirts that were slowly falling from the attackers. He heard something where the wolf was and turned just in time to catch a clawed finger across his right eye. He screamed in pain as he dropped to his knees just in time to feel the claws digging into his back where Xivan had clawed him as well. He was almost finished, for good...
Then they vanished... the vortex of demons and the shirts were gone, he looked up just as the creature seemed to fill the room. Oh suits... he thought as he gazed up at the monstrosity before him. He saw that it was going for the Snake and couldn't care less, though when he noticed that the wolf was going after something and even commanded the monster to protect him did he know that whatever it was wasn't good at all for anyone in the room.
He stood up on wobbly legs and attempted to squeeze by the monsters reach to get to the wolf (7 on dodge) so that he could stop him. Feeling the monster slinging him back from his failed attempt at getting past him did he take a mighty swing with the spiky end of the cane at Agro (11) attempting to bash away his hand.

Wulf held tight to Ez as he scowled and squirmed to no avail before, at long last, he watched the Selkie's eyes go wide with recognition. Much better. "I know you didn't." He chuckled and released the sparrow, slipping to the side to allow him by -- just in time to watch Zacharias crash headfirst into the floor and the bed go flying away.
Gigi was now in plain view, as was... The crow's eyes widened and he jerked back, nearly stumbling into Ez.
What had once been a horrible rabbit-like thing suddenly transformed into monstrous thing. Wrong in every way but now also familiar. By the Suits, it was the thing he'd seen earlier! And a joker?! A JOKER? What sort of madness had they stumbled into!? He shot a look at Ez that clearly said the Sparrow was off his rocker.
"Feck, Ez! Are you insane!?" Arguing about it wasn't going to help. "Vhatever... If you insist and can actually keep it calm, I'll trust you.." He watched Lucius go flying and hissed. "Malachior! Keep away from that thing!" The old man was his, he wasn't going to let a freakish monster kill him. However, since Ez had requested he not assaulted the monster, he turned his attention to the Wolf trying to escape.
While the man was distracted trying to claw open the door he tossed Kirill at him (15). If given even half a chance, the Mome will latch onto Zach's head and begin to bite and scratch with rabid abandon. At the same time, Wulfram activated one of his abilities on the man. He'd also be silenced by the spell but he doubted that would be a problem just then.
And, to be sure he was covered on all fronts, he activated his Jack's ability on the horrible monster.
Powerful Magical Ability: When activated, he can call forth and dismiss a small familiar that is unique to the individual. -- Notes: He is able to blend into any surrounding that has even the slightest hint of green and almost vanish completely. He loves to bite and scratch everyone except for his summoner, whom he adores.
Moderate Ability: (For Zach) Once a week, he is capable of causing an opponent's bronchial tubes to contract painfully for a full fifteen minutes. During this time, the victim will be unable to speak properly as their throat twists up on itself and contracts at odd moments as roughly as it can. Cards ranked 8 and lower may even begin to bleed a bit from the mouth as the tender flesh will tear a little, and cards ranked 5 and lower could have permanent damage done to their throats (please Pm the Admin if this ability is used on a Card ranked 5 or lower or a Leveret) While he is using this ability, he will find that he cannot speak again either until he either releases his control on the other's throat, or the spell's time allotment runs out. This spell also gives him a kind of high, akin to that gained while smoking pot, that becomes stronger if/when he smells blood. The high lasts a bit after the spell has ceased and can make him forget about one injury until the fight is over. This could cause him to make the injury worse without realizing it.
Jack's Ability: (On Argo) He is able to predict what an opponents first move will be, even without prior knowledge of what spells they possess. He will not be able to know exactly what their spell or move will be, but he will know what direction they are going in and what the spell might have to do with. -- Jack Enhancement: He is now able to tell exactly what the first spell used on him will entail. This doesn't mean he can dodge everything, but he will at least know what's coming and be better prepared for it. This also works on magical weapons, summoned or not, and odd trinkets.
----
Malachior fell back as the anger suddenly drained from him, blinking a little in surprise before a mildly satisfied grin slipped onto his muzzle. Lucius had scrambled to his feet, looking indignant but more confused than angry. He gave Malachior a look that was filled with a mixture of disbelief and horror that somehow such an old man had managed to take him down. A fatal flaw of not knowing your associate's background.
The old buck shrugged and then Zacharias hit the ground and the world fell away.
He didn't need Wulfram's warning to get the hell out of the large creature's way. He'd seen it once before, terrible truly, and had had no intention of ever seeing it again. He made his way back to the door and reached out to put a hand on Conall's shoulder. "Doing alright, boy?" Devi was crying in a corner, but at least she wasn't in the middle of this. "Don't suppose you've got anything in your repertoire that could perhaps take down a monster if it came at us? Something tells me my little dagger won't be much help." He wiggled it a little for emphasis but kept it firmly in hand. No matter how unhelpful it may be it was at least a comforting familiarity.
---
Indignant and horrified, Lucius stumbled to his feet and recoiled from Malachior. He might have said something sharp to the man in the end of his unnatural anger but he heard Zacharias crash into the ground and wasn't about to be distracted from his original goal anymore.
He hissed and rounded on the fallen wolf -- only for a horrible monster to rip out from beneath the bed and transform into an even more horrible monster before his very eyes. The serpent had no time to react (9) to the surprise and was suddenly flung away from the Wolf once more. He stumbled, sliding across the floor slightly but managed to regain his footing rather quickly. (18)
A torrent of rage and fury and indignant frustration billowed up in his mind and his deep desire to make Zacharias suffer suddenly made something click in the back of his mind? A new ability? He hissed and activated it without hesitation. Hopefully it would make the man drop dead or at least stun him long enough so that he could drive a knife through his heart.
Amazing Ability: (For Zacharias) Once a week, he is now able to cause another Card to feel as though their entire body is alight with a terrible fire, though nothing is actually happening to them. This horrific sensation will last for an hour, and causes the victim to still be able to talk, but to be unable to cast all but two of their own spells (victim's Dealer's choice) until the next day.

"Yes, I think I am. Considering the what I've been through today, I can hardly be sane." The sparrow snipped back. "And I generally like to solve my problems without violence."
The sparrow watched as things continued to spiral downwards. However, Gigi had made her way to Mirriam. Maybe there was a way that she could help? Suits. The Wolf was trying to get away through another door. How many of them were in this damn place?
Crap, what to do that wouldn't make things worse. The few spells he had would just aggravate the situation. And there was... another spell? He glanced down at his chest, the rank was clearly a Q rather than a K. Oh crap, he'd have to deal with that later.
---
Conall jerked slightly when the Spade touched him, his eyes were still locked on the monster. "Ah well, I'm fine," he said as he took a deep breath, glancing up at the Spade King. He frowned. He had a spell, but he didn't know if it would work on a monster. Was the thin even a card? It had limbs in all the wrong places. "I have a spell... but if anything goes wrong we can blame it on the Club Queen," he muttered as he went to focus his spell on Argo.
Aimed at Argo King's Ability: Once a week, he is now able to cause any one victim he focuses on to begin to vomit blood for a full minute. This weakens them terribly, though other Kings, Queens, and Jokers will be able to fight through it and may simply become angrier as a result...
--
Devi was quite preoccupied with huddling in the corner, hearing horrible thuds and sounds with her large ears. Wulfram was okay right? Suits. Suits, She was going to die.
---
Gigi nodded to Mirriam. "I'm fine, are you o---what?" Her eyes widened when she finally processed what the teenage bat had said. So it wasn't her fault that Mommy was dead? It was the Big Scary Wolf's fault? So he was the bad guy but Argo was his brother?
Her nostrils flared as she tried of think of something to do. Mirriam was right, they needed to do something, but everything was going on at once. "I'm going to try to do something, kay?" She said as she turned to look at the wolf. There wasn't much she could actually do that would work but maybe she could try to distract him from the door.
The magic spell she was so unsure of activated, her barbels stiffening as she prepared to fire and aim at the wolf's tail (18 for aim).
Aimed at Zach's tail Moderate Ability: Once a month, she can stiffen her barbels straight in front of her face. The red tips begin to glow with heat and within five seconds she can shoot tiny bursts of fire up to ten feet directly in front of her for up to ten seconds. Cards ranked Jack and lower will receive small second-degree burns two inches in diameter where the fire hits - if it hits. She must aim. The fire dissipates in strength when aimed at anyone ranked King or higher, becoming nothing more than an unpleasantly warm sting when it touches them.

((Zacharias snarled with rage as the little door began to crack and splinter. His face then cracking into a wider than usual smile, full of far too many teeth. Something thick, heavy, and alive suddenly crashed into the back of his head, tearing in and biting viciously into one of his ears, gnawing away with every intent to sever it. The Wolf made one grab for the thing (7), before deciding escape was more important, ear or no. With a sharp rending noise, the door broke open. Tearing it delightedly away from the wall, Zacharias, shoved his shoulders through and rolled forward as best he could, even as his throat closed with ruthless force and twisted shut. He coughed loudly as he kicked the remnants of the door behind him. They clattered uselessly against the wall. And sealed shut. As though the door had never been there. Gigi's spell hit the Wolf's tail and fizzled out as it was whipped out of sight. Just before the wall sealed over, the Wolf felt Lucius's parting gift sear into him. The last thing the people on this side of the wall heard were gasps of other voices and the flailing agonized thumps that were the Wolf's voiceless screams.
The monster in the middle of the room faltered as it gazed around. Its eyes had fallen on Devi. Tilting its helmed head t the side, its arms dropped a fraction...almost as though in surprise or dawning realization. It gingerly lifted its hand and managed a small wave to her, when the Heron's cane smashed down on it with a horrible crunch! (4 for his reaction) The monster jerked back in shock, though no sound was uttered as its hand sprayed the floor with blood, the pinky finger clearly severed and the ring finger broken. It lashed back out at the man, a sudden and searing agony creeping through his body until the very tip of his beak cracked and snapped off as though invisible forces were prying it away. (16 for the cast which held and dealt the damage described) Wulfram became aware, thanks to his spell, that the monster in the middle of the room was not about to use any spells and was only about to make an attempt to follow after the Wolf in any way it could.
The sudden crashing noise of the door being ripped free had the thing jerk its head upwards in surprise, the helmet scraping the ceiling as it stumbled at once in that direction, arms tucked up and suddenly with a horrendous, resounding series of cracks; it changed into Zane. "Wait! Zach! Zach, wait for me! Za-" It stumbled and heaved, tripping and falling as the spell hit it. (5) Blood began pouring out of its beak as it gaped in horror, watching the wall close completely. Gurgling in fear and panic, the thing hurled itself over and around people (19) to get to the wall, frantically clawing at the peeling paint and stone until two of its talons snapped off in the foundation, leaving more blood behind as it continued to vomit gore and paint the walls red in its desperate scrabbles that would bring no help. Wulfram will, at this time, realize that the Wolf took his Mome with him. Oddly, he cannot be unsummoned...))

There was a reason why the sparrow didn't like to solve things with violence. One he was horrible in a physical fight, and two he wasn't particularly fond of the amount of blood.
Argo was attacked by the Club Queen, of course. At this point he didn't expect anyone to be civil. He watched as the Wolf managed to escape, despite everyone's best efforts.
He didn't move from his spot until things got... there wasn't a word for it beyond weird. As Argo changed into Zane, Ez suddenly felt dreadfully ill. And he needed to act. It didn't matter what he did, he had to stop Argo from... tearing himself apart in the form of his brother.
He skittered across the room, making to grab the now bird under his arms, trying to avoid his wings. (Rolled a 15 for the grab). "Argo! Stop it. We'll get you to Zach, just stop it! You're scaring the poor children and just hurting yourself!" He said in the most stern voice he could muster, and prayed that no one would try to attack poor Argo. "Please, Argo, stop."
Considering he was coughing up ample amounts of blood... suits what was going on?
---
Devi had periodically peaked through her feathers. She briefly paused when she saw the creature ... wave at her through her blurred vision.
That didn't happen right.
Devi edged closer to the room trying to see past everyone. Maybe she wasn't going to die? And then she saw blood. Quite a bit of blood.
So much blood. She leaned against the door frame. "Oh suits."
---
Conall had caught the action. Glancing at the young girl who was still violently shaking on the ground. He had already cast the spell, and utter chaos was happening. But that thing was a monster, wasn't it?
He looked the Malachior completely confused. "It waved at her." He stated flatly. "What the hell is going? Is this thing evil or what?"
---
Gigi watched as the wolf fades from sight, frowning a bit. Her spell had done nothing, not even been a decent distraction. She made a disappointed sound before things just... went down hill quickly.
She let out a surprised cry at the sudden cracking sound, falling onto her behind.
She tried to process what was going on, but she suddenly saw her mother and a good deal of blood spewing forth.
She burst into tears. "He's dying!"

Mirriam nodded to Gigi, brown eyes narrowed and posture tense. "Be careful!" she whispered, and looked around the room for something she could use against Zach, to prevent him from escaping and continuing to kill more innocent Cards. She flapped her wings to try and search on top of the dresser, but that made her hurt wing protest, pain throbbing in the spot where it was torn. She grit her teeth and focused past it, only to hear some dreadful noises and when she looked over...
The door was gone. The wolf was gone. And Argo had turned back into Gigi's Mom and was flailing at the wall where it had been. Her ears went back and she made a concerned noise. She turned to the rest of the room, especially that Heron that kept insisting on attacking Argo, and turned on her innate charm. "WAIT. DON'T ATTACK ARGO! HE'S MOSTLY PEACEFUL!" she yelled, spreading her wings in a vain attempt to block the others from getting to him. After all, he just seemed to be confused and to want to follow what his brother said...and for all his huge size, Argo acted too much like a child for Mirriam to blame him for his actions.
Besides Ez was trying to help him and Gigi was so upset...Mirriam refused to do nothing and stay quiet, even if she was just a child.
Basic Magical Ability: She can act charismatic and persuasive at times, whether or not she actually has the natural charm and grace to pull it off.
